SonOfaNobody: Thank you thus far. Is it compulsory I submit my statement of account alongside his? Or I can just submit his alone? You have full funding so it’s not necessary. |

Dfazz: Please I need help here It’s not you sending your degree certificate. It must not come from you and that’s why it’s official. I don’t know about UNN but for Unilag, you have to make a colored copy of your degree cert and take it to the senate building, they would stamp and sign, then you pay an amount of money for courier and they dispatch it immediately. So you have to go to your school and do that. |

SonOfaNobody: Yes. Tuition is about 8k You can use him as a sponsor then for your itineraries-flight and accommodation if you don’t have sufficient money for that in your account or prepare a deed of gift and have him transfer a reasonable sum to your account. The latter is more feasible. |

SonOfaNobody: Full. 18k+ Does the full funding cover tuition and living expenses. |

SonOfaNobody: Sure, I have. I'm more concerned about the sponsorship. I intend to use my uncle, do I have to include mine too? I do not have enough in it. Is it full or partial funding? |

SonOfaNobody: Good day here, I have been following this thread for a while now. I recently gained admission for my master's program at a university in Alberta, with funding. I need guidance on the documents to provide for the study permit application. I'll be willing to answer questions further. Why not read through the previous threads on the documents to submit and how to go about it. Then you can mention the documents you intend to personally submit and ask specific questions. |

mikeerrr: The full funded uni will give him more chances of getting the visa though
Just my opinion but it’s up to him I don’t think so...he has enough chances already. Some people still get refused even with full funding. |

Kinzeerichy: Thank you all for the advice and guidance. If I’m to apply now, how difficult is it to change school if another Uni with full funding gives me admission by mid-end of April?
I should be able to do it myself. If I’m to wait till April ending, is it too late to apply as resumption is August 27?
Thank you again. It’s not difficult to change school. As long as it’s LLM you are going for. If you want to wait till then, it’s your call. Anything can happen as CIC is very unpredictable. |

Kinzeerichy: Greeting all, I need help.
I’m new on this thread and I seek your advice on my application. I just gained admission to the University of Victoria for my Masters in Law commencing August 27, 2020. I got my Bachelor of Laws here in Nigeria in 2017 (Service in 2018/2019 in same law firm I work now). Tuition fee for a year is approx. CAD$7,500 and I was given 2,000 from the School as funding for now. My uncle (presenting him as a brother) is sponsoring me.
In addition to immigration documents, below are the documents I intend to submit:
Profile
Statement of Purpose Diploma in Law Certificate (Distinction) LLB Certificate (First Class) Call to Bar/Qualifying Certificate (First Class) University Transcripts for both Diploma and LL.B 2/3 Pictures of Awards NYSC Certificate Acceptance Letter Letter of Employment from law firm I work Letter of Recommendation from work Office ID card Birth Certificate Police Report Data Page of Int’l Passport/National ID Letters from Stanbic IBTC Pensions Evidence of Tax Remittance
Financials
Sponsor’s Personal SOA with 16m Sponsor’s Letter of Sponsorship with his company letter head Sponsor’s Affidavit of Sponsorship His Company’s Certificate of Incorporation Tax Clearance Certificate for himself and the Company Data Page of Int’l Passport Deed of Gift (he will transfer like 5/6m to my personal account immediately before application in partial fulfillment of his sponsorship) My Personal Statement of Account with like 1.5m with 5/6m from sponsor making 6/7.5m Pay Slips for 6months
Home Tie
Father’s CAC documents showing I’m one of the directors Study Leave Approval from work giving me just 1yr Inclusion in my SOA that I will return as I won’t be qualified to practice as a lawyer in Canada but will return to resume work in Nigeria where I’m qualified.
Although I applied to University of Saskatchewan and Calgary which usually come with full funding that will cover tuition and living expenses. However, University of Saskatchewan sent an e-mail that due to COVID, decision will be reached in mid-end April while I haven’t heard at all from Calgary.
Questions
Are those documents above sufficient?
Should I proceed with University of Victoria and leave Usask and Calgary in the interest of time? or chill till April? and apply with a full funding?
What are the roles of these agents? Should I engage them or do it myself?
I look forward to receiving guidance from you. Thank you. Just take out diploma cert and diploma transcripts. Include your transcript if your admission is conditional subject to submitting your transcripts. What’s the essence of the stanbic ibtc letter? Is your LLM for a year? The sponsor need not write a letter with the company head provided it is from his personal account. What’s the essence of the picture of 2/3 awards? You should also start your visa application since you have admission letter. You can always switch schools later. |

engrjoe: Thanks bro. Where did u do it and how long did it take to get d result? Check IOM, Ikeja or Q-life. Go to their website, get their email address and send them a mail. They would reply with the nearest date available, the amount and every other information you need for the medical exam. |

Davidwali360: I paid Maple Education 380,000 for my Visa and I was still rejected. I really feel bad now. How do I do this now? Even me gaan is upset on your behalf. This is something you can actually do yourself, whether the result would be positive or negative. You wouldn’t have spent this much. Apply for your GCMS notes and start re-gathering your documents. Go through the thread from the beginning while you await the notes. You can re-apply by yourself. When you have specific questions, you can always ask here. |

Evabanks: i had a 2:2 and i got admission into two universities in Canada while changing programs from what i studied in my undergrad. schools normally request for a certain percentage in GPA in your final two years of your undergraduate program. relevant work experience and packaging your application matters too. Are you equally a lawyer? Law is really from other professions. It’s not that easy. I’m not denying the possibility of getting an admission, just saying it’s an herculean task. |

So what's the fate of 2.2 graduates who wants to study in Canada. There has to be a way. We were referring to Law graduates. Others can always do a PGD/PGC. |

aye88: I understand that from my research here and the schools i have checked. I have already ticked llm off. What i am looking for now is a good college that offer law related PGD programs If you wouldn’t be going for LLM but for law related courses, you should be aware that at least such “related” course should be in line with your current work experience. |

Obehi44: Greetings to you boss @Frankrobbn1 My question to the enlightenment of many of us is If I am done with a 1yr Program, then applied and got a 1yr PGWP, but during or before the end of the 1yr PGWP I got admitted into another 1yr program, 1. Will such a person still be eligible to apply for a another PGWP? 2. If yes, how many years PGWP will he or she gets?
Please experience minds should also contribute with answers. Thanks I have read somewhere on this thread that you get PGWP once. |

aye88: Pls which one is low ranked school and what are the chances of getting a Visa with low ranked schools. I know the US visa officers usually frown at low ranked schools but i don't know about canada, if they also follow suit Check University of Regina, St Thomas, just google generally and if your documents are genuine, you can get visa. |

aye88: Good day everyone, i am new year and i have been reading up since yesterday. Currently on page 8 of this thread. However i have a question, its surprising that a 2.2 graduate will find it difficult to gain admission into a university in canada. My dilemma now is that i intend to do my LL.M I graduated with a 2.2. Are there any lawyers in the house that can advise on what uni admits a 2.2 graduate for an ll.m program. I have searched schools like university of toronto, mcgill, queens. Pls what are the options available. Or does it mean that a 2.2 graduate of law cannot go for ll.m in canada.?. I'm really confused Rather than searching the superpowers university cos 2:2 don’t stand a chance there, broaden your search to lower ranking institutions and try there. |

I'm really confused I’m one. When I was equally looking for schools, it’s not just about even having a 2:1, it’s about having a high 2:1. So there isn’t any school that accept a 2:2. However, you can try as some schools might be more interested in your publications, research interest and job experience. But you have to brace yourself, the chances of getting admission would be really slim. |

When I was applying, there was a lump sum in my dads account I had to justify with documents knowing fully well that he’s retired in order not to raise an eyebrow. If there’s anything that would raise an eyebrow in your statement, then you have to add it. |

MisterSpark: Hello JustMellow
Thanks for your advise on this.
However I was of the opinion that we could use our baby as a strong tie back home.
Myself I have only been to the US once, my visa was valid for 2 month. After program I went for was over, I left for Nigeria.
Could we add this info to her app since I am going to be one of her sponsors.
Gurus, kindly advise If I’m the VO, I won’t agree that a mother should leave her 1 year plus baby to pursue her education. The child is still really young na. Why can’t she go with the baby and use you as the hometie? You are the man na, you can survive behind alone. |
