Cersei: Hello all,
Please seniors in the house, do you guys think its worth it to apply now for canada study visa for fall admission of Sept 1 to defer to next intake to be safe. What is the usual timeline for approval/denial especially with Covid. The way things are going, no one is certain as to anything happening. There’s no timeline for approval or denial. Even though you apply now and you are approved, you won’t be able to enter Canada until Winter. So either way, it’s okay. Applying now would give you ample time to prepare should things go south. You can defer if you wish to. |

aliadi2: Hello everyone please i am asking for the gurus wisdom on my student visa application that i am about to apply for . My uncle in Canada wanted to sponsor us when he received is permanent residence and according to the IRCC the conditons were that our parents had to be deceased for him to sponsor us . So he forwarded the application and claimed that our parents were deceased (which they are not actually ) and they application was refused . So he appealed the case with a immigration lawyer and it was denied again . Now i have gained admission and want to apply and this thing is making me confused on what to do but he is suggesting that i used my dad elder brother as my father and he will also be my sponsor with is salary account and birth certificate proving that he is my father. Please i need your wisdom on this thanks. The truth is the only safe ground to stand upon. Very risky move. So if you were granted visa and maybe later, I’m sure you would have forgotten, your sibling or yourself would want to sponsor your parents to come over. This is very wrong on all level and it is fraudulent. |

jessicajessa: Hi All,
I haven't been here for a while, but l saw an update which moved me greatly to post, incase anyone has unanswered questions.
Warning this post is gonna be really long but it's worth the read, trust me (just a little way l can help, airing my opinion...l was once in your shoes, so l know how it feels!).
I think now is a great time to study online, if you are thinking of deferring, please do not as now is a chance to have an upper hand! I doubt if a vo can argue about the genuineness of an applicant who has started studying online. This can be escalated if there is a future denial, because l believe the Vos won't want to stir any drama in the air & in my opinion, if they were to refuse an app, after obvious studies has began online, it's really gonna reduce their credibility on refusing an applicant on the ground of not being a genuine student. A student who isn't genuine, won't take the risk but someone who wants to study, have absolute right to study online.
If l were in the concerned individuals shoes, l would act as follows:
1. My app is in progress, oh nothing is gonna change, l would proceed in opening up a webform with a proof of my intention or/and errolment online, to start online studies including attachments of whatever email l got from the school.
Web Form Link: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx
2. My app hasn't been submitted category, even better! Put in the above info and your intention in your LOE.
3. I have an admission but haven't started the process, l am thinking of deferring. Please do not defer, l repeat....do not defer! Take advantage of this to improve your chances. I believe the risk is worth it.
4. I have no admission yet, my advise is to start applying to schools who have response rate within a month and start online! It isn't bad shooting your shots (people are still working from home in Canada, so let's hope for the best).
5. For those doubting and scared... please read the link below to see what's going on.
The verdict is that most countries like Canada are passionate about keeping their economy top notch, and international student are a good source of revenue! The online study option was designed to be a win win....just have it in mind that as much as you want to study, they want you to spend your money in their economy & boost it in the long run (there is no secret that international student are a good source of workers & permanent residency holders in future, people who schooled previously in Canada, are given an advantage to increase their chances i.e points towards future P.R & express entry app (talking from experience as l came in through studies too & it's been a bit of smooth sailing, that l literally feel entitled to somethings. Please note that getting into Canada is hard but when you're in, things get easier as long as you are focus & you break no rule).

Olayinkaji: Not at all. Remains only Biometrics. I heard rumors they will open this Month or so which I pray. Was of the thoughts this my increase my chances, then start the online by September this year. Online classes is only for those who have been approved. Starting the classes without an approval does not have any impact on your application. There’s really no issue in deferring the admission to Fall 2021 if your intended institution doesn’t have Winter/Spring session. |

Olayinkaji: Guys I am in dilemna. If I start online class for now, will it affect me when applying for permanent residency later on because of stay or to defer till Sept next year which is very very long. This is the mail I received from NBCC. I am lost on what to do. Starting semi online or waiting till 2021 September and starting. My fear is the PGWP and permanent residency, hope it won't be affected? Have you gotten an approval? |

deveid: I'm just wondering if I would be able to do the online class in Canada instead of in Nigeria. Yes you can. As at today, international students who have visas before March 18 are viewed as essential workers and can travel to Canada. Provided this doesn’t change, you can travel as soon as the travel restrictions in Nigeria is lifted. If you don’t wish to travel, you can start in Nigeria pending when things will normalize. |

Julibet: Hello all,
Please I plead for responses.
Someone I was discussing with put an interest of studying in Canada to me recently. He told me some which I need to sort clarification from you guys.
He said I should look at getting a professor from a University in my field and that I should work on a very good and convincing thesis and they could sponsor me from their huge grants they get for research.
I don't have any sponsor or anybody with a large bank account like that so I've only been looking for fully funded scholarships online.
Please I want to know if it's possible to study in Canada this way? Funding my thesis seems feasible to me but what about accommodation, feeding, tuition fees and others?
I plead for responses from everyone with experience so that I don't get my hopes high. Yea it’s possible to find a supervisor willing to sponsor you and the funding would cover a substantial part of tuition and living expenses. All that would be left is flight itineraries. If you finished with a good grade, have research publications, your interest is similar to that of a professor, then you are good to go. |

Slayyy001: Unilag does not issue unofficial transcript o ! Other schools are giving their students transcripts or sending it to the schools abroad once they pay online . However , unilag is just different and they are not processing application for transcripts yet! Pls anyone who knows anyone who can help. Biko ! I can message you privately . Deadline May 31st Noo you are wrong. You can access your unofficial transcripts. Go to the website and put in your matric number and password. Go to student records and request for transcripts. You would pay 1k and it would be sent to your email or you can download it from your student account after 24 hours. The official transcripts is a different process on its own. |

Miide2: Hi guys quick question.
When I want to send a CSE form explaining that my application has passed the normal processing time is it okay to include “ I’m sorry I am sending this but I’ve attached an unconditional offer letter from a university in the uk and your decision on my application determines if I get to pay the tuition fees as the fees are already being demanded inorder to secure my place for the September intake”
I don’t want a situation where I’d sound cocky and rude You shouldn’t add that. Just state that your application has passed the processing time and you are requesting for an update.Sept 2020 is 5 months away. For the UK own, you can look for a way to handle that. |

Chukwuemeka101: Nope I have not, That's another idea ,but am looking at it in a way doesn't waste my time, what do you suggest ? And why? It’s important that you do. They might have other underlying reasons as to why you were refused initially. One of the reasons for refusal was employment situations, it may be more than that. Even though working a good job is necessary, when everything else is in place, it might not be an issue. So order your notes and start repackaging your application while you wait for it. |

geosolomac: A Brief Clarification needed here
I just concluded my Youth Service in March 2020.
No job employment yet....
Dad is my sponsor and his SOA is sufficient enough for my Tuition & L.E
So I wanna ask ,
1)how can I justify what I was doing as a Youth corp member for the past one year (Based on Employment)
2) Since I got a Sponsor, is it necessary to talk about or show my income as a Youth Corper I.e. showing my SOA (NYSC Bank Account) which indicates I get monthly allowances from FG thru the NYSC Scheme?
3) Is talking about my work/duty as a corper enuf to justify I was employed without me stating my SOA (NYSC Bank Account)
Thanks 1. You can justify that using your posting letter/PPA. 2. No 3. Your duty as a Corp member is sufficient employment, just back it up with evidence- ID card, posting letter and all of that. |

With this lockdown I can’t move an inch . P’ease Who submitted recently and what was it like? Letter for Biometrics is no longer 30 days but has been extended to 90 days from the stipulated date on the letter. So you have to chill until the lockdown is over. |

JCXpert: The study permit was rejected for the following reasons: • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your current employment situation.
• Pursuant to paragraph 220(a) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the tuition fees for the course or program of studies that you intend to It’s necessary you post your profile for proper vetting. |

Nonny100: The thing is this. I used an agency and the agency has a representative of the school working with them. On the admission letter they said I have to meet the English language requirement before accepting the offer. I don't know what to do. I wrote PTE 2ce already and had 52 and 51 with speaking being the lowest. What school is that? Most institutions in Canada do not ask for English Proficiency because our Lang of instruction was in English. Did they request for it during the admission process? |

Thank you for all that you do. May God bless and reward you.
Please I need your advise, I have received my Original Passport Request letter for my online student application but when I went to the Vfs office here in Abuja Nigeria to submit my passport I was informed that they are no longer collecting passport for now. My questions are:
1) I received the letter on the 19th of March and I have 30days to submit the passport, would the period of passport submission be extended I am supposed to resume school May 4th.
2)Someone advised I send my passport via FedEx to CIC in Ottawa Canada for Stamping. Can I send it?
3)in case the school defers to September because of the travel restrictions caused by covid 19, would my Visa be extended by IRCC to cover the duration of study.
Please I would really appreciate your kind response.
Best Regards 1. It’s only CIC that is privy to that information. 2. You sef, how can you submit passport in Ottawa? Do you think they are not working remotely too? It’s CIC that would answer that too. 3. School deferring has no bearing on that. It’s your study permit that would reflect that. Be patient until the pandemic reduces at least. |
