Please, I need to pick the brains of some of the gurus here. I heard about the Oxford International Professional Diploma in Adult Care from an agent, and she is marketing the program as something that can get you a COS from the host organizations. On the Oxford website, they mentioned the program levels you up with the skills that could land you a COS, but they are not taking responsibility for providing you a COS after the program. Does anyone know about this pathway or is willing to share any insight? Is it worth giving it a shot? I'm looking out this opportunity for my sister, but she has HND, which makes her options very limited.

More context: The program costs £14,995, and 100% payment is required upon enrollment. It's categorized as A-level. You cannot work during the program, either.

Hello, update**** It seems the systems are working now. Friend got VOA without any stress. Took a few days longer than expected but it was processed and pre-arrival approval was received in about 4 working days. Looks like they have finally improved their systems.

UPDATE: Finally, my brother and his family are in UK now. At the POE, immigration official asked for proof of fund, evidence of house rent (thank God we paid for a two bedroom home), and more details about his school and program. Please come prepared! Thank y’all for the support here.

We paid approximately $3,015 for two dependents instead of $1,800 on UKVI website. But so far they refunded part of the extra money.

Update: UKVI issued part refund on the excess amount paid for IHS fees for my sister-in-law and niece @duchess90.

With the IHS calculator, I got £705 for each applicant. But the primary applicant came back at $905 while for each dependent came back at $1,510. So I don’t get the difference in amount.

If you used the correct IHS Calculator and know the exchange rate plus charges your bank is using then you should be able to argue with your agent about whatever exchange rate is he/she is using for your application

Visa applications are really easy and straightforward avoid using agents please

My brother’s (principal applicant) IHS fee came back at $905 but his wife and daughter’s IHS came back at $1510 each! Approximately $4,000 for three of them! Please is that the correct fee to pay for IHS alone? And why are they paying different amount? The agent is all about paying the outrageous amount.

1. If you used the IHS calculator and put the right dates/information then it is correct. Study visa usually have additional 4months included when approved, so the IHS will be more than a year actually. The figure you quoted seems about right

2.Unfortunately the only expedition you can do is to keep checking for early biometric dates. In terms of decision making after biometric there are options for priority (average of 5days decision wait time) and super priority (average of 24hrs decision wait time) but these are not guaranteed. If the ECO needs more time to assess your application you will get an NSF mail

Good day, gurus! Please I need suggestions on how to make a strong student visa application for my younger brother. He is married with a 2year old daughter. Reading through the thread, I saw suggestions on providing enough evidence to support his marital status.

My other questions are: what is the current IHS fee for a one year Masters program? I used the UKVI online calculator and it shows £705 per person, but some people paid £470. So I’m wondering if I did something wrong in my calculation 🤔.

Also, how do I expedite the biometrics date and cost? Sorry, I couldn’t find the information from the thread.

Are there other things to keep in mind? I am a newbie with UK student visa application and would appreciate any help I can get.

You can include the sponsor’s (your sister and husband) bank statement from the last six months, employment verification letters showing where they work, how long they’ve worked there and their annual income, and a copy of the document describing their current status in the US (US passport, green card, or visa depending on what applies to them), proof of address (recent utility bill). An invitation letter is also important. Your sister can also add her birth certificate. My experience is that parents or elderly folks don’t undergo as much scrutiny as others so as long as they have all the relevant docs or don’t have an adverse immigration history, they should be fine.

Congratulations on your admission to Clark University and Northern University! What program did you apply for in both schools? They are both great schools in terms of quality of education and reputation. However, cost of living is higher in Boston in comparison to Worcester, and cost of education may differ depending on the amount of scholarship you got from each school. Also, put into consideration the program u applied for, and try to tease out the school that has a better prospect in that field.
