D corrola av bin seeing z not less dan 1.8/1.9.... D one I saw for 1.7 z an accidental car
An accidental car isn’t such a bad deal as long as the frame isn’t damaged and also the airbags are fine, no rusts

Go with a trusted mechanic.

I agree.

If he has a GTBank salary account, it’s a 1.33% monthly which is a bit fair. Cooperative society is still the best where they offer 5% total interest rate and even dividends. I’d been there. Took a loan for my first car which I later sold and made a loss. Asides, loans are so easy to take but when you start paying back, you’d feel it.

I for one don’t like being stressed; I always end up liquidating such.

As much as he wants to look at the bright side of things, he should think through your advice too. Best to see your car and be happy than seeing someone mishandle it (Gazzuzz gave me this advice).

All the best bosses!

Tnx, I av a biz am doing, but not going as expected..am planning to pull out of it. And use d 1m I invested. Den get a loan of 1m. Which I will pay 100 monthly.. with dis plan I hope I can meet up.

What r d reasons y an account with Uber or taxify will be suspended

Sorry to hear that about your business.

Not a bad one.

I’m also of the opinion you shouldn’t do beyond a 1.6m if it’s a Corolla. 2005 model is just ok, that way, you can do a comprehensive insurance of say a 40/50k, Reg. 45/50k, tyres about 40k, and a few other expenditures.

Account suspension could come in any form ranging from too many cancellations; Uber might not even give you a specific reason.
E-hailing is just a means to an end; not an end in itself; you’d see for yourself with time; you go to bad roads and have to repair the vehicle with what’s made in some instances coupled with very low fares.

Since you’d be doing weekends; commission would be on 20-25%. Do the maths.

Whatever you go with, I wish you the best.

God bless you!

Bros abeg, am planning to get a loan of 2m...to buy a car I will drive on weekends for uber..cos I work 8 to 5 on weekdays...based on ur experience of weekend driving...wud u advice me to go ahead with d loan

2m for me is much to take as a loan for a car. Why not save up like 1m and take the other in form of loan?

What happens if Uber / Bolt suspends your account, how do you want to meet up? The fares are low and I wouldn’t advice you to go ahead.

Just my opinion.

God bless you!

Hi house.
Please I have been experiencing this issue.
After changing arms of my car and the whole front suspension, then did alignment, everything was good.
Then i travelled to calabar for xmas with the bad roads and all, when i returned i have been experiencing serious vibrations when i accelerate up to 100kph.
Like the steering will be shaking in my hands.
Went to check the suspension again yesterday and they say it's good.
Could it be alignement issues again? undecided
Cos I am tired of it and confused too.
Thanks.

I had a similar issue and all it took to fix was just a tyre replacement. One tyre was uneven.

Cheers.

While you are smiling sheepishly about to lose 2m+ dealer/seller smiling happily about to collect bride price. you and dealer enter bank or you enter bank alone and your goons stay in the car with dealer or dealer goons holding onto the original docs and keys.

When transfer happen and dealer don see alert and confirm am, he hands over the original docs and extra keys to you make you carry your wahala go with your goons, if nah big time dealer nah 2 cars una go carry go, if nah small time, he go carry Uber or gokada go back him shop.
if you are nice enough, you can drop the dealer and his goons back at his shop/Stall

Guys please I have an 04 camry. Whats the best oil to use and service it for optimum performance?

I don't need all those very expensive oils. I need a good oil that serves well but not pricey.

Please camry bolt uber drivers, whats the basic oil I can go for?

The engine cap has 5w30 written on it? Is that what I should use?

NB
The car is a Tokumbor and this is the first servicing.

As much as it’s advisable to stick to manufacturer’s standard, you need to be sure the so called tokunbo is yet abused.

You might be doing yourself more harm than good in the long run if your engine has a lot of sludge by using 5w30 oil as that could block your engine valves and result in an engine knock.

Respect is a non-negotiable for a man that wants peace.

Imagine your wife disrespecting people you hold dear to you, then to people on the street e.g. a bus conductor and then everyone looks at you and say who owns this uncultured lady?

The earlier you make up your mind, the better it is boss.

Could be an hard decision but it’d be well worth it.

Best wishes boss.

Hello, I’m glad you’re taking up the challenge. My advise isn’t going to be based on whether the money is much or not because as much as you get value for what you’re paying for, that’s ok.

3 months wouldn’t make you a great dev. It demands sacrifice and a lot of dedication. You sure would hit breakpoints but your resilience would take you forwards.

If you have access to internet, you can download materials; videos are faster, you get explanations and you get to practice alongside.

Do it for the passion and watch the money flow in for you.

All the best as you venture into this line.

Cheers!

@blissbliss, I want to thank you for the candid opinion you gave here. I've read quite a number of them, yours sounds so pragmatic, how I wish the lady will try this option, if it fails, she can always stop. But I'm so sure something positive will show up in the husband's attitude.

Meanwhile, I was curious to know which area you are active in on nairaland. Amazingly, I saw you in technology, Auto section etc. You can be sure I'll be following you.

If you have property request, let me know o!

God bless the woman in question.

Thank you boss. It’s an honor. I’d sure let you know whenever I’ve got such request.
Do have a fun filled day.

UnbiasTruth, thank you for all you do. I’m assuming you’re looking for a way forward.

My advice?
Once you get paid, you can transfer like 50% of your salary to his account and let him assume the role, say you want to go to the market, say ‘Darling, can you help us with some change, we’d be cooking’.
I believe you’re making the burden light on him as this ain’t best of times for him; being a man picking up his bills before now but due to circumstances he just can’t no more and that being temporary.

Give it a shot, it actually might work.

Thanks, God grant you a peaceful home. Amen

Investment / Re: Investing On Land Or Buying A Car For Uber: Which Is The Better? by blissbliss: 5:47pm On Nov 12, 2019
If you must buy a car, do go with a mechanic and do not spend more than a 1.1m as it might take long to recoup your investment. You car employ the services of Gazzuzz for inspection.

Land would be a good idea I think.

Wish you luck.

Considering the much influx of cars into the business and also continual reduction in fares, do you think in a year time it’d still be sustainable?

I personally do not think so.

Don’t be too quick to own a car. Think beyond now. Once you sign the agreement, the car only belongs to you not until you’ve remitted the last balance, in case of any eventuality, the car returns to the owner and you also lose whatever it is you’ve paid.

The ball is in your court.
