Very stupid reply. How can u even allow an Italian land in this country at this crucial time? Why didn't they collect blood samples from people arriving from infected countries? These people dey mad aswear Since u know symptoms are hard to get and transmission can even be from people showing no symptoms why no collect blood from them immediately they arrive and check for the virus? What kind of nonsense is this? |

MagicBishop: They are depending on screening passengers based on physical diagnosis alone that is using thermal cameras and remote thermometers.
This is totally ineffective because once infected, an individual can still transmit even before displaying symptoms.
This is why most sensible countries are barring passengers from countries were the virus is prevalent.
Japan even refused to allow passengers of a cruise ship to dock at it's port and until 14 days quarantine was completed. I swear there is something really wrong with some of our leaders. |

MagicBishop: This is no Flu
This virus has an incubation period of 14 days where the infected do not show sign of illness but are still highly infectious.
This virus has been shown to be for life just like HIV. That means the infected even after treatment can still relapse and infect others.
Most worrying is that it affects male fertility which means males who get infected, but survive, become sterile and so can not have children.
Ebola will keep you down for about a month after just a day of exposure thereby limiting spread.
Every successful virus needs to be docile and not kill the host before it goes pandemic.
You do not know how dangerous this contagion is.
It is obvious it was a designer bio-weapon tailored for massive culling .
Be very afraid. This is not some random flu but a well engineered cutting-edge bio-weapon designed for mass culling. Why didn't they collect blood samples from people arriving from infected countries? These minister of health is a slow poke aswear. Since u know symptoms are hard to get and transmission can even be from people showing no symptoms why no collect blood from them immediately they arrive and check for the virus? Saito20: WHO CURSED MY COUNTRY, NIGERIA?
Sen. Ajayi Boroffice raised the alarm of possible entrance of CORONAVIRUS into Nigeria yesterday. And on how our airports are open gates for CORONAVIRUS to comes into Nigeria. But unfortunately, we woke up this morning to hear that CORONAVIRUS has arrived Nigeria.
This is what he said yesterday.
NO SCREENING FOR CORONAVIRUS AT OUR AIRPORTS, ITS FRIGHTENING – Sen. Boroffice raises alarm. Senate deputy leader, Professor Ajayi Boroffice, said there are no measures to check the spread of coronavirus into the country.
Speaking on the floor of the senate on Thursday Boroffice said upon his arrival at Nnamdi Azikiwe airport in Abuja from South Africa on Wednesday, passengers were only given a sheet of paper to indicate whether they were sick.
The deputy leader said that was not the case in South Africa as they were screened before he disembarked from the aircraft when he arrived in the country on Friday.
“I was in South Africa on Friday, I came back yesterday. Because of the issue of coronavirus, every country in the world is taking preventive measures because the wisdom is that prevention is better than cure. In South Africa, we were not allowed to leave the aircraft for good 30 minutes,” he said.
My take: When are we going to do things as it should be done in this country? When do we begin to hold people in the power accountable for their lapses or ineptitudes?
I thought Minister of Health requested for #630m naira to prevent this virus for entering into Nigeria through our airports across Nigeria? What now happened to the money granted for this exercise?
I personally call on President Buhari to sack Minister of Health for dereliction of duty and that will serve as deterrent to other government officials.
Rise up to defend Nigeria.
May God heal our land. When last did u hear Buhari talk to his citizens? |

Commentor: Abeg dont make me laugh.
You would take blood samples from a Jehovah's Witness?
Or you would be pricking the finger of every traveler into the country?
OK, show me one country that has adopted this measure.
And when you get the blood what happens with the individuals, you keep them until your results come out? Jevovahs witness dont take or give blood so that's their wahala. The names and phone numbers of the travellers are already taken na for contact tracing. Tough times call for tough measures bro. To me that's one method. Check it out this italian that tested positive......we would have know if he had the virus from day 1 if he had his blood samples taken. Besides we can always narrow down the people who will give blood samples by looking at the country they arrived from. The other countries taking measures, how has it prevented the virus from entering? A song as one doesn't show symptoms even with the virus, blood test is the key |
