[s]Blue3k, I sparred with you here during the height of the RUGA controversial policy which you openly canvassed and supported .
You yaribanza is calling me an idiot and complaining of land use act while supporting the forced relocation and exploitation of lands in the Niger Delta. Hope you are aware that this same land use act enables the FG to be sole owner of all natural resources found in any land.
This is my problem with you yaribanza snakes. Your hypocrisy stinks.
Very soon I know you will begin to curse Obasanjo for rolling out the law. But at the same time you will welcome Buhari taking over all lands towards getting up your RUGA wet dreams.
Yaribanza! [/s] Lol you're mentally challenged. Lol your arguements are getting more long winded and idiotic. Instead of arguing points you just argue strawmen points I never made. Btw the land use act doesn't make the FG owner of minerals. The exclusive list in constitution does. I already said in this thread mineral and land rights should be with individuals lying clown. Mental retardation is definitely is dominat trait with you. I just hope you dont pass it on. Too bad lying seems to be part of your character. Hopefully they dont adopt your attitude on that. Blue3k: Individuals should own land and all minerals associated with it. It's should be kept in trust by the state. Any issues of development can be solved with eminent domain laws. |

12Monkeys: I will avoid replying your insults .
Let me ask you a simple question : who decides who gets the land and how it is distributed?
If it is the community or a family it is still subject to an authority.
A state issued land comes with the benefit of a valid titled deed that is tenured for 99yrs and subject to the conditions stated for its use.
The question to ask is why are governors not offering leases to their citizens?
One cardinal aspect of Yaradua's seven point agenda was to ease the process of granting land ownership to small farmers in order to have them use the titled land to approach a financial institution as collateral for loans to invest in their farming venture.
The problem is not the land use act as it sanitizes the entire process and makes the state as the sole referee in land transactions.
It is the governors who have abused the act and rather than empower their own people through land ownership, they are benefiting from selling vast lands to corporate entities for their selfish gains.
What has to be done is to devolve some of this vast powers from the governors through proper land management use that will be rolled out after proper and wide consultation. So that a case like Aregberascal selling prime rain forest to Chinese miners and loggers will be avoided. I didnt insult you I just made fair comments. You act like an idiot you get treated like one. You accused me of everything under the sun because of your delusional paranoia. Land is distributed by the owners of the property. In certain cases of inheritance there's laws and wills. There's eminent domain for public interst concerns. Land is not much different from any other piece of property you own. The state has no business telling you how can hold anyome land any more than they should tell me how long to hold my stocks. The restrictions are equally stupid. The state and local government can make zoning rules and building codes. State do offer land leases and property to own. The problem is the power to begin with. Instead of hoping for benevolent rules just return land right back to individuals. The certificate of occupancy is stupid and drives up cost. It's a failed policy thst resulted in only 3% of land being registered. |
Politics › Re: Why The Land Use Act Needs To Be Repealed by Blue3k(op): 7:44pm On Jan 28, 2020 |
Xisnin: You seem to negate your earlier point. If you want the land use Act repealed for economic reasons then you cannot fault Obasanjo's reason.
Dangote refinery was moved from Ondo to Lagos due to the indigenes' unrealistic demands despite the state government supposedly owning the lands.
The 2nd Niger bridge will never be completed nor the Enugu Airport takeoff in the absence of the land use act given the number of Sharks that would demand outrageous compensation from contractors.
In almost all cases, Nigerians understand that public good should trump private concerns so I see no reason why land should be any different. Land in Nigeria can be used as collateral as long as the necessary procedure is followed. The land use act should be slightly amended not repealed. Who cares if they made unreasonable demands for payment. Dangote is not entitled to the land. If he doesn't want to there's other options i. The market. The Land is owned by the government but governors are custodians. That's the fact by law. You didnt read the article well. Eminent domain would solve the problem of obtaining private labds for public purposes. The government would just have to pay fair market rates. No land can't be used for collateral legally in most cases without the governors permission.the land use act constricts investors and occupiers. Section 22 of the LUA prohibits any person to whom the Governor has granted a statutory right of occupancy from assigning, mortgaging, transferring, subleasing or howsoever adversely dealing with the land against the terms of grant, without having first had and obtained the consent of the Governor. The LUA leads to transaction bottlenecks, is cumbersome, tiresome and creates “negative wealth” as all land without C of O cannot be brought into any formal transaction. These concerns can be addressed by passing a bill to give the Federal and State Government the power to acquire land under the Right of Eminent Domain, i.e. the superior dominion of the sovereign over individual property rights. |

12Monkeys: Blue3k is a Yaribanza Muslim who opposes the land use act because it confers sole ownership to respective states with the governors acting as custodians .
This law has made it near impossible for buhari to snatch lands from each state for his satanic Fulani relocation colony aka Ruga.
Yoruba Muslims are seriously an accursed race. Your comment is insanely stupid you lying clown. I'm guessing mental retardation is a dominant trait in your bloodline. The benefits of allowing individuals to own land is far greater. The governor doesn't have to be the custodian of land to stop federal take over. Eminent domain wouldn't give the FG the power to seize all the land at will either. |

Lol how long do you guys boko haram will be active? If the narrow guage line takes years to complete like standard guage the government has time to defeat them. The narrow guage line should be rebuilt for commercial purposes. Do the terrorists want to abandon their positions in Borno when they're close to capturing the last bridge to isolate the capital? The train might actually weaken their siege on the city. There's only one safe road to the city city. Their next target after blowing up Benishek bridge would ne to bombard the airport since it would be the only way to get goods. Since 2014, soldiers and the police have battled to prevent Boko Haram from attacking the Benishek Bridge which is the only bridge on the 135km-long road linking Maiduguri and Damaturu. Benishek is the headquarters of Kaga local government area of Borno state.
The military and residents feared that should the Maiduguri-Damaturu Road fall under the control of Boko Haram, the insurgents would have effectively won the war because the Borno State capital would have been practically cut off from all access by land. Front page: Lalasticlala mynd44 |

By Adeola Badru
The sacked local government chairmen in Oyo State, on Monday, defied Governor Seyi Makinde and resumed to their respective local government secretariats amid tight security.
Controversy trailed the administration of local governments in the state, following the immediate sack of the chairmen elected under former Governor Abiola Ajimobi, barely twenty-four hours after Governor Makinde’s swearing-in on May 29, 2019.
In his bid to reconstitute the local government administration, Governor Makinde had in December 2019 appointed caretaker chairmen for LGAs and LCDAs to fill the void despite the various cases instituted by both parties.
Reports from Ibarapa NorthEast LCDA, Lanlate, have it that Mr. Lanre Olaosegba resumed at the council secretariat with his councilors.
Also, Barr. Daud Suleiman Abayomi of Ogbomoso Central LCDA also resumed with his councilors.
Abayomi, who was beaming with smiles while a Muslim prayer was ongoing, said the gate to the secretariat and his office were padlocked but they were broken.
He added that policemen were at the entrance and that nobody prevented them from gaining entrance into the council secretariat.
The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), had last week wrote a letter to the state governor to allow “elected council chairmen” to perform their constitutional role.
Few days later, letters were dispatched from the office of the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to the ALGON Chairman in the state, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, and the chairman of All Progressives Congress(APC) in Oyo State, Chief Akin Oke, informing them that the Commissioner of Police, Shina Olukolu, has been ordered to lead them to their respective council secretariats. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/01/oyo-lg-chairmen-defy-makinde-resume-with-heavy-security-backing/amp/

9. Why are we asking the SC to release election results when in fact Ihedioha and his lawyers refused to release and show the SC the results and documents than put him in office to prove that he actually won and INCE rightfully removed votes from other candidates?
10. By refusing (INEC and Ihedioha) to release records needed to prosecute their case before the SC, what were they hiding? 8. The court should release the information because its should be public information anyway. There's nothing to debate. They declared the correct winner based on the information they recieved. 9. The courts declared the rightful winner so there's no need to ask them. If you want to see what they have say out curiousity that up to you. 10. They not obligated to fight in court. I do suspect them though. If they stole one election they probably did others. 11. Why would you not want the official results released? NORSYK: The so called 388 polling units results were fake and were badly done, even the number of votes the allocated to themselves were higher than the number of registered voters, and in some polling units only Uzodinma had 100% votes with other over 70 candidates having one single vote How do you know? NGpatriot: There was nothing wrong with the election when the former governor was rigged into office, there wasn't any call for a runoff even though the 2/3 issue was raised on top of the other illegalities like unlawful taking away of votes by INEC in favor of the former governor, now that the ruth is out in the open and the Supreme Cout's verdict, they want rerun, they want runoff.
Talk about medicine after death.
Supreme Court's decision is final.
Justice prevailed. NGpatriot: INEC and Ihedioha's lawyers should have done that when asked to do so, but they refused to produce their own facts and relevant documents.
Ask INEC and the former governor. I guess you read what you see then argue from there. If he won in the first round there's no need for the run off. It's only if none of the candidates won you need a runoff. The courts already said the APC governor won with the other wards included. The only question is was more fraud in the other elections handled by the same guys. Other than that the courts should release final official results for the public. There's no reason not to. If INEC has it I'll email them about it |

Why is this news coming out piecemeal. These journalists need to quit milking this event. If none of the candidates achieved the required majority it's supposed to go a runoff election constitutionally. This whole election is questionable when you look at house assembly. After all the fraud how can you trust it. This imo election is going down in infamy. The judge did not provide the details of the new votes scored by each of the candidates after the addition of the results from the 388 polling units. This information should be released. |
