Im watching Vinland Saga and its really enjoyable. Its the first new anime I've watched in awhile. I read a chapter of the manga but never continued. The art was very nice. I'll try an restart the manga soon.

You mean the same core north that wants their own version of Amotekun? If you do simple math you only need support from 24 states. That means only 1 core north state has to agree. The sell is easy especially if they want more power conferred to themselves.

Until the federal government rolls into the NPF it has no legitimacy. Unless it is rolled into NPF special constable program it will have a hard time in court. The state governors even acknowledged that themselves. They say Amotekun is unarmed for that reason.

Honestly none of these state security agencies are legal in my opinion. The constitution is pretty clear on it. The federal government chose to ignore beforehand. Sec 214 (1) of the constitution says no other police force can be established. The question is what defines a police force. I think item 68 of exclusive list would give the FG the win in court.

Rather, common sense prevailed and the Attorney General of Kano State took the matter to the Supreme Court where it was resolved.
Now, if the Yorubas believe AMOTEKUN is legal or created by any law and that the duties and responsibilities of the outfit (including the issue of holding fire-arms or lethal weapons) does not contravene any provision of the constitution, what is stopping them from approaching the Courts for settlement of the matter?

I believe if the matter went to the supreme court they would naturally see all these security agencies as illegal if they considered police. There's little difference between them. If that's the case amend the constitution. Malami should sue if he has an issue. Im just waiting to see when if Federal government is going arrest someone. If they aren't going to enforce their laws the issue is dead.

I'll never fathom why people avoid the ultimate solution to security being amending the constitution. It's should be obvious to everyone that's the core problem. Every other solution is just a half measure.

Blame the constitution. The state assemblies if I remember correctly have refused to abolish the joint local and state government accounts. That's one reason why Buhari had to use regulation to stop them.

What ever Kano or FCT is doing the rest of the states should follow suit up north. Improve public education so it meets targets.

The FG should strengthen electoral process at the local government level first to stop governors from appointing the chairmen or caretakers. That should be the first step but for now, he that plays the pipe dictates the tune.

You dont need the federal government help. Tell your state assembly representatives first. They can set rules regulating state electoral commission.
