Christianity Etc › Re: Why Is It Unforgivable To Sin Against The Holy Spirit by blueAgent(m): 7:54pm On Sep 18, 2022
tctrills:
You are not making a clear point. Are you saying that when one sins hoping on God's grace, that is a sin against the HolyGhost? Because all Christians sin, hoping God would forgive. Also, for anyone to commit sin, it means the person delights in sin unless the person is forced. For example, a young man that steals his parent's money is that a sin against the HolyGhost because the young man would not do it if he does not delight in it?
You are complicating something that is simple.

Committing sin is not the issue but continuing in sin becos of grace is unforgivable sin.

Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? Romans 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

There is difference between willful sin and non willful sin.
Example when Peter denied Jesus b4 the 3 cock crow, that was an unwilliful sin, most christains and born again at times fall into this kind of sin, the fact remains that ppl who commit this kind of sin are remorseful and feel guilt and seek God's mercy and forgiveness, another example is David and his sin of Audeltry.

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

But when one lives in inquity or commits the unforgivable sin against the Holy spirit, the person no longer fears God, neither is the person remorseful about his or her sin, such ppl delightfully indulge in sin they defend or try to rationalise the reason behind them committing that sin rather than humble themselves and accept their sinfulness.

They contend with God if possible they try to guilt God.

Such ones, God has given them to reprobate mind.

Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

2 Timothy 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

If you cannot understand this explanation don't quote me again.

Well history tells us that religion beliefs including christiniaty were tools used by ancient people to find meaning to life, or their situation at the time..
If we go by the Jesus story.. He appeared like a social activists that questioned Judaism, the teachings of the Torah. He was a Jew and his reference was to the Torah and interpretation of Jewish teaching..
Jesus never wrote a single piece of his work, teachings or introduce Christianity before he was crucified..
The place jesus followers were first called Christians was in Antioch, in modern Turkey...
St Paul up to his conversion persecuted Christians and he was born in Tadsus modern Turkey..
The questions you have to ponder are: What's the main religion in modern Israel today? Is Jesus accepted as a prophet or messiah by the Jews?
Do the state of Israel or the Jewish nation recognise jesus as son of God, as proclaimed by Christians?
What is happening in modern Antioch and Tadsus, in Turkey, were christiniaty was spread in ancient times before the Islamic conquest? Are these people now bound for hell fire for adopting a new faith that is not true?
I think the point being made is that religions beliefs whether abrahamic faith spread by colonisation or Arab conquest or traditional beliefs are a tool to finding meaning to life...It is man's invention... It is your interpretation and how you apply it to your life and people that determine its relevance..
Claiming one religion beliefs or doctrine is true or superior than another comes from a mindset of dominance and imposition forced by Empire and colonial superiority.
If christinianity was not adopted by emperor Constantine and forcefully institutionalised in the Roman empire it will never have seen the light in Western Europe... Christiniaty was only spread predominantly in territories under Roman control or closed to Asian minor.. ..
So, Christianity despite its benefits cannot be claimed as the true religion..You are entitled to be passionate and champion your faiths.. These are the reasons why pagan, western Europe, separated Christianity from state politics following the era on enlightenment...
Please travel to Asian, Indian and Persian... People have their religions beliefs buddism Hinduism and are fully functional.....
Religion beliefs regardless of its origin helps shape your character and perhaps guide you but it is based on experiences, fabricated and real life encounters.. However, it is only a tool to self discovery and you still require further understanding of other areas of life to be functional...
No religion faith is absolute true, it is based on your interpretation...
You just wrote what you were told and not reality .

The fact remains that their are millions who have encountered Jesus in so many ways and they know he is more than just human invention.

You asked so many questions which are too many and broad for your understanding at this time, you need to first acknowledge the basics b4 you can get answers to those other questions.

Like I wrote in the link I shared, their is only one creator and only one medium or religeon to reach him.

Have you asked yourself why Europeans culture and Christianity is the dominate culture and religion?

Well if you say so.. Christian beliefs and any religion beliefs are well intentioned... The critical point is that you do not need to be indoctrinated by a foreign and ancient beliefs to be a functional and upright person..
True religion is kindness, empathy and being a better person to the next person.. You cannot be cruel to a fellow human and worship and be loyal to a God or supernatural being that is imaginary..
People remember your character, how you treat them, and make them feel not who you worship...
That's not true without been told how would you know the truth?

We were Christians long b4 them. African countries are all over the Bible. From Cush to Libya, Ethiopia and Nubia. Queen Sheba died in Nigeria. How cud it have been Europeans who brought us Christianity wen they demselves are only just recent converts to Christianity? Say 500AD?
No need to argue with u , You are just confused.

To unwillingly disobey means you do not know the word of God. Like an unbeliever. But how can you claim your disobedience is unwillingly when you understand the word of God. So if a Christian lies, is that unwillingly disobedience?

As for 5he definition of iniquity; immoral or grossly unfair behaviour.
You still don't get it.

One can have the knowledge of stealing as sin and still indulge in it, hoping on God's grace this will full sin. when one practices sin or delights in sin that is called inquity in this cases the Holyspirit is grieved and it is called the unforgivable sin.

As a Christian every disobedience is rebellion against God. You know God's words but you choose to go against it. Is there a better definition of rebellion?
There is a difference in unwillingly full disobidence and willinglyful disobidenece.

Do you know the meaning of iniquity?

This is the wish of those who do not expect the meeting with their Lord. While indeed the meeting with our Maker is most certain.
Not a wish but God's word.

The dead remain asleep till the day of resurrection.

Job 14:1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. 14:2 He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not. 14:3 And dost thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee? 14:4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one. 14:5 Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass; 14:6 Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day. 14:7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. 14:8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; 14:9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant. 14:10 But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he? 14:11 As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up: 14:12 So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. 14:13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! 14:14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. 14:15 Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.

Finally pagan religion is not the religion of our forefathers. They are the result of 500yrs of slavery and dark ages Africa was plunged into. Most Yoruba deities like Ogun, Sango themselves had personal Gods they worshiped. They were not gods unto themselves. I challenge anyone to prove me wrong

Interesting, Please note this world is not just about Christianity and Islam.. The two most populost counties are neither Christians or Islam... That means... You can live a functional life by taking control of your life without any religions beliefs.. Well advanced countries have laws that guide and shape human relation.... Your relationship with your God via your religion or spiritual awakening should be a personal and a private matter that makes you a better person..
But Christianity is the only true religion.

Why do people want to doubt the continuation of our existence after death. Rosullulah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered that the corpses of the disbelieving casualties from the battle of badr be thrown in a well. He then summoned them saying these words;

Oh so and so the son of so and so. Have you found what your Lord promised you to be true? because we have found the promise if our Lord to be true.

Abubakar (RA) enquired; ya Rosool! So you speak to them though they are dead?

He replied; By Allah! You do not hear any more cleayly than they do. ( meaning they can hear as clearly as you do)

Now that advanced science can decipher that humans consciousness doesn't exactly end with death. Are we still waiting for our own deaths before we come to the conclusion that we are only on a journey to our Maker ? And that the promise of Allah is true?
That's a big lie, their is no life or consciousness after death.

Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God. 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 2:15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one anotherwink 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

How the country would have been is that Nigerian ethnic groups would have been left alone to run their own affairs. There wouldnt have been Nigeria as a country. It would have been easier for the ethnic groups to grow and form nations based on their own mutual agreement not based on British interests.
