Tinubu, dem no obey you oh. Me sef see one yesterday around Sanusi Fafunwa , V.I. There were two cripple guys passing traffic, so one big exec sitting at the owner's corner slightly opened the door of his SUV to pass them few thousands of naira for their hard work. It was at that moment I noticed a Mopol sitting beside the driver with his rifle on his laps. So apparently the Mopol is the big oga's escort/orderly; the man was wearing suit so I'm sure he's neither a security agent or police man. He's definitely one company's ED or MD who has a policeman attached to him. |

If the government is doing well as they may want to believe, why do they need to force people to register and vote for them ? Why not let people make a choice for their preferred candidate as it is expected in a Democracy?
You can't say you don't want Military government and then turn around to be forcing people vote for you or your anointed candidates under duress in a so called democratic dispensation.
So they will force people to register at poling unit close to the market knowing fully well there won't be free movement that day. I won't be surprised if they collect their PVC ahead of election day to manipulate voting results. What a shame! |

This is former Deputy Speaker House of Representatives. You will just know that there is an element of truth in this from the moment Nigerian Military authorities came out to deny the allegations. Even Sahara reporters did a story on it last month and the Soldiers who spoke to them under anonymity confirmed the "repentant" Boko Haram members who are supposed assisting them with intelligence gathering still end up leaking own operational strategies to their fellow terrorists on the outside. As SaharaReporters earlier reported, many soldiers have expressed anger and frustration at being compelled by their commanders to patrol, share intelligence, and even live in the same camps with former Boko Haram members who “surrendered” under government amnesty programmes.
“In our camp, we have repentant Boko Haram members; those ones that surrendered. They are working with us. We go on patrol together so that they can give us information about Boko Haram fighters still hiding in the bush,” one soldier said.
He added, however, that many of them had used that arrangement to infiltrate the army and feed information back to the terrorists
“Some of them have run back to the bush to rejoin Boko Haram after gathering intelligence from us. That’s why we don’t believe they are truly repentant.
Another soldier described the policy as a betrayal of the sacrifices of frontline troops.
“These people killed our colleagues and civilians. Then one day they say they have surrendered, and the government forgives them just like that. Now we are forced to work with them. It doesn’t make sense.”
According to multiple sources, some of these ex-fighters have been given motorbikes, stipends, and even military uniforms by the Yobe and Borno State Governments, allegedly to help in counter-insurgency operations.
“They are paid salaries and fed whatever we eat in the camp,” another soldier disclosed. https://saharareporters.com/2025/10/29/exclusive-how-repentant-boko-haram-members-leak-nigerian-army-movements-armoury#google_vignette |

GloriousGbola: build a mail trail from different people and get union on board
that is what happened in our own case. The problem is we have different office locations and only those of us in Lagos are experiencing this. The majority of other staff in different locations have access to very good hospitals in their locations. Maybe because Lagos hospitals price themselves way too much and the HMO deosn't like paying what some of them charge, so they settle for the mid hospitals whose billings are within their acceptable threshold. We've involved HR severally and it didn't yield much result other than making available a premium hospital on the Island which is far from almost everyone's location. |

afrodoc2: Which HMO is that?
There are usually some good options on the Mainland around Ikeja, Surulere, FESTAC etc
If you have a chronic condition that requires you seeing the doctor 1-2 times yearly it’s better to use the premium hospital for that so that they know you and have your clinical records with them.
For minor ailments like malaria, common cold, sprained finger etc you can use a decent quality one hear your home.
If there is any emergency, you use whichever one your are closest to at that point, at least to stabilize until you can be transferred to your premium hospital.
But go to your HMO website and browse their hospital list. There are some premium hospitals on the mainland too. Thank You. The problem is with the HMO jare. Some of the hospitals they have affiliation with on the mainland are not so so premium like that. The hospitals on their list that are on the Island are premium premium. We advised management to change the HMO and go for some HMOs some of us have used in our previous workplace that are really up to the task; but it appears management is not interested in changing HMO. Personally, I suspect there are principalities within the management team that have personal interest in the company retaining the incumbent HMO provider. That's the only reason I can think they are not willing to change them despite our complaint that they don't even a good spread of premium hospitals on their list for mainland residents. I have changed 3 different hospitals on the mainland at different times and I just don't enjoy their services at all. The one time I used Evercare on the Island, I saw the clear difference in quality. |

1) You need to be rich.
2) You need to have good quality health insurance.
3) You need to pre-identify the good quality hospitals around where you live and where you work that you can access through the health insurance.
4) You need ask your doctors questions. What is the diagnosis. How did they come about the diagnosis. What investigations could help in better assessing the problem.
5) Have a low threshold in asking your doctors to send you for appropriate investigations and to refer you to the appropriate specialists
6) Independently read about whatever the diagnosis you are given and read about other possible diagnoses that might explain your symptoms better than the diagnosis you are given i.e. differential diagnosis.
Empower yourself with knowledge. It is your life. If anything goes wrong, the doctor will be sad for a brief period and then move on. Thank You doc. Concerning point number 3, I have predicament which is centered around location and close proximity to a good quality hospital. We complained to our management about the quality of some of the hospitals our HMO provided to us in our different locations and the management proceeded to engage the HMO for a solution that works for all. The resolution was for them to make 2 hospital options available for us. One of the hospitals is the one closest to our respective locations which may not be premium premium standard. Then the second hospital option is Evercare hospitals at Lekki which is a top premium hospital. which we are advised to make our primary healthcare provided. Now the issue is most of us who live on the mainland see that traveling down to Lekki for an emergency treatment may not really work except what is wrong with u is not really really an emergency that requires urgent medical treatment. Now we either spend time moving from mainland to Lekki to receive premium healthcare or we made do with the normal standard private hospitals in our respective locations. |

By Ibrahim Kado
The Federal Government has debunked reports circulating in some media outlets claiming that open grazing has been banned nationwide.
The Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Maiha, clarified this on Tuesday at the inauguration of an ultramodern Veterinary Hospital in Yola.
He said such a policy had not been announced, adding, ” the government is instead implementing a gradual, well-structured transition from open grazing to modern ranching systems.” Dem say make we no get our hopes too high an we should hold our praise |

Talking about Nigerian healthcare system, only God will save the common man from misdiagnosis and inadequate healthcare facility.
I have a relative who has been battling ulcer and spike in Sugar level for the past 4 to 5 years. She was advised on what to eat and what not to eat in order to manage her health condition while she was also placed on some drugs.
So, she relocated to the US last year December and after she got there, she still had reasons to be in and out of the hospital. A couple of months ago the doctors in the US made her undergo CT scan and they were surprised she never had ulcer which she has been treating from Nigeria.
The CT scan revealed she has Cyst in her pancreas and that all the symptoms she's been having that made Nigerian doctors diagnose ulcer was actually as a result of the cyst in her pancreas. When I heard this last night, I was really scared. I wonder how many people would've died from such misdiagnosis in this country.
@ Afrodoc , kingtom and other medical personnel in the house, is there anything one can do in this Nigeria to avoid such misdiagnosis that may put one's health in jeopardy? |
