To be fair, Delap got sent off for something similar, so swiz has a point
The foul happened right in front of the ref and he jisged it as a foul that was accidental hence the yellow card.

The reason he got the yellow was because of the careless high arm. The ref won't give him red for that on a normal day

The thing is these our artistes, who have gone international are not grateful enough. They shpuld learn to give back to home where the journey began. I mean they shouldnt even be looking at Naija shows as a profitable business anymore. They just have to see it as a way of appreciating the market that pushed them to the top. Bring down the charhes and allow local fans who wants to enjoy the show to be able to attend.

The amass much streamings on all platforms because of the local fans.

They mostly perform abroad these days and charge juicy amounts. But back home should be different. After all, they are aware of the economic hardship these criminal administration have brought upon their fans.

Peoples purchasing power have been suffocated. Them never see money to eat good food, pay bills or buy good clothes, na 250k to watch miming and one artiste jumping and shouting 1 2 3, while pouring them water
I think the show promoters are sometimes the problem. I may be wrong, but most of these shows are packaged by show promoters like Flytime entertainment who put everything together from getting the major artiste to headline the show, pay supporting acts and arrange for logistics and lodgings.

I think the need for those show promoters to do all that and still make their own profit may be driving those prices up the roof.

Still on still, the prices are just too ridiculous for the kind of performance those guys will put out.

Me I no too dey go overnight shows and clubbing Sha, so maybe that is one of the reasons I feel I can never pay close to that amount to deprive myself sleep to be watching them mime a song I have listened to 100 times in the comfort of my house.

As I like Olamide reach, I will never pay that amount for regular ticket for his shows even if I am swimming in money.

£50 - £60 for a UK concert makes sense because the UK minimum wage is around £12 per hour. A person can work five hours and buy Burna's concert ticket without shaking because the ticket is proportional to his earning power

Now compare that to Naija where the minimum wage is 70k, and only about 2.4% of Nigerians earn above N200k per month, and you'd realize the N250k pricing is disproportionate and in misalignment with the Nigerian economy and reality of most Nigerians.

If one follows the UK proportionality logic and applies it to Naija, tickets no suppose pass 10k but nobody realistically expects the promoters to drop the tickets to that level because pricing in itself is a form of crowd control and a way to filter the audience but 30k or thereabout for standing tickets would still have made economic sense.

The show is for diasporan returnees and detty december crowd angle too no make sense because those guys cannot fill even the 6000 capacity Eko Convention Centre on their own. Their numbers no reach. For the venues to be filled to capacity, you'll need the home-based Nigerians.

And when the shows are priced like luxury goods, the home audience automatically gets locked out. Then promoters go turn around and say Lagos no dey profitable. How will it be profitable when the core market wey fit fill the venue no even fit dream of affording entry?

It's okay for artistes to go global. But if dem wan do their December homecoming concerts, the pricing should reflect the economic reality of the home base

OR

Make dem no kuku do december shows for Naija at all. Nobody go vex, and life will continue

Afropolitan Vibes by BANTU that year has spoiled me. Anything that's not live band I'm not interested at all. Let me hear the artiste actually sing not chop mouth or make me wey don pay already still dey do him work
Exactly!

It's only when these Naija artistes do international shows abroad they try to get a standard backup group like the compozers backing up live for Burna on stage.

When tbey come to naija they will have the DJ playing already mastered mixtape which the DJ cuts at intervals to allow fans sing along. I will not pay such steep price ticket only to be subjected to that same level of performance lailai.

I will rather go to one of the beautiful nubia shows at GRA ikeja or go to any night spot where they have live band.

It's important to note that these guys are international artistes now. Yes they sell Nigerian product but not to the Nigerian market.

I've been to a few Burna Boy shows in the UK and in Europe, and he's packing 10s of thousands every time paying a minimum of £50 which is circa 100k, and has the advantage of the tickets being reasonably priced by European standards, huge arenas and multiple dates to really rack up the funds. Concert goers abroad also don't have the typical Nigerian mentality of 'I be oga' so I need to be separate from the crowd.

The Nigerian concert goer that is willing to stand with crowd in front of the stage doesn't have the kind of money form a similar chargeable crowd base, so Burna and Co cannot expect playing to a large crowd to be anywhere near profitable - so it's better for them to target their typical Diasporan customers coming for dirty December instead.

It's basically a Diasporan concert set in Lagos, that typically the promoters won't even break even on.
These artistes only need the a Detty December show to keep their brand and Naija credentials alive, not because it's a profitable market.

I'm guessing these artistes would only consider reducing how much they charge the promoters so those ones too can see something to eat and in turn be motivated to bring crowd, but other than branding and promo, I don't see any incentive for Burna and Co to do a Lagos show. The money is just not there.
If their focus is the detty December diasporan to fill the venue, trust me they won't get enough numbers to fill the venue. How many detty December people dey come and how many of them are genuinely fans of Burna, Davido, Olamide and co that will be willing to grace their show in naija in venues that are not so so international standard like that?

There are enough fun spots those ones can go that will give them full value of their money better than standing for hours to pay 250k and listen to Davido miming to a DJ mixtape.

well, make I no speak for the diasporans Sha but if I was in their shoes I won't really fancy those shows like that.

Concert ticket prices in Naija this December.

Asake - 300k
Davido - 250k
Olamide - 120k

I will pay this much for a performance that involves DJ playing pre-recorded music which the artiste mimes to?

Omo! I would rather go to all those night performance at Ojez inside national stadium surulere where a live band will play and u will order fish peppersoup and drink of Ur choice without paying any gate fee. Those shows are more authentic and entertaining than all these artistes' show.

So you don run. You are not willing to

So all the posturing that no one will take up the challenge, I show up and you chicken out
All this reverse psychology won't work on someone like me, u ought to know that by now.

Nigeria was bad under PDP according to Nigerians and APC promised change. A video of Tinubu making mouth about how things were bad under PDP was posted. Today things have gotten worse by all metrics in terms of insecurity, the economy of everyday Nigerian going from bad to worse and people getting thrown further below the poverty line.

We ask anybody that genuinely believe APC has improved the life of an average Nigerian in the past 10 years to drop 5 areas those changes are visible and let's scrutinize that claim.

All this diversionary tactics u are doing is only giving credence to the fact that APC has failed. You don't need to openly admit it, the facts speaks for itself ( Res Ipsa Loquitor)
