raumdeuter:Different people have what they are obsessed with . There are people who like to eat exquisite meals and eat at fancy restaurants as their own obsession. Just the way some ladies like to buy expensive wigs, some men like to wear expensive perfumes , both sex like to look good wearing easily recognizable designers . That’s just how some people like to eat good meal that are quite expensive at some restaurant even in this naija . I was at a naming yesterday evening, I posted a sneak peak of the video from the event on my timeline and people were asking me if it was indeed a naming ceremony or a wedding considering the crowd , the kinda food and drinks on display. They were more shocked when I mentioned that it was even a second wife’s naming ceremony sef. The father of the baby na senior man wey no dey consider economy when it is time to spend on parties . It is more like he just looks for any slight opportunity to spend money on parties. Like I said , different people have what they are obsessed with in this naija |
iamoyindamola:I understand that they sign before the surgery but if it is established that it is the doctor’s incompetence that led to their death, a doctor should not be asked to pay 100k and then move on with her life na . 100k will not even buy a top range tecno or infinix phone 🤦♂️ |
A40:I think I will agree with ur last paragraph . Probably some of these ladies just want the best out of the life of their initial partners before coming out in their true colors . |
afrodoc2:I agree with u that burden is too high when it comes to getting conviction for medical negligence even in the advanced world . But then, in a country like Nigeria steeper punishments should be meted out to doctors like this woman upon conviction. I followed this case back then and I remember that shortly after FCPCC stepped in to shut down her clinic , some bloggers who were on her case actually reported that she was still taking bookings for surgery and she actually did carried out surgeries at her friends’ clinics while her clinic was shut down during investigation. Imagine such level of disregard for the laws of the land. The bloggers had to keep shouting that it appears she has backings in higher places because how will u be in the news for medical negligence that led to death and u are still taking more surgery bookings illegally ? For that fact alone , I feel the judge should’ve slammed her with a more severe sentencing terms |
A40:I checked that lady’s socials up. She’s named Niecy Nash and guess what ? She has 3 beautiful grown kids . How did she suddenly end up being LGBTQ plus and minus ? How woman wey go through Labour 3 times take become gay ? Shey na afterthought or something ? Sometimes I pity the mental health of Nigerians living in western world sha . Because somehow in my quite time , these are the things I will be trying to rationalize that how will my female colleague after 3 kids will suddenly think she’s not attracted to men but women ? As in how ? |
afrodoc2:Maybe u are right doc ,I just feel when a life is lost due to professional negligence one year prison sentence with option of fine less than $100 is a slap on the wrist considering the gravity of the matter . I guess the key takeaway from all of this is that let one be careful about some of these life changing decisions . The victim of the botch surgery is dead and gone now, she only left her family members with grieve that won’t leave them soon even with this so called “justice “ at the courts |
What we term justice in this country is crazy mehn! I don’t know if anybody remembers this lady’s story ; Dr Anu. She performed a botched plastic surgery on a lady who ended in the mortuary. She has been convicted and was sentenced to one year imprisonment with the option of N100,000.00 fine . Omo! the fine for killing somebody due to professional negligence no even pass 67 dollars 🤦♂️( at the rate of N1,500/ 1$) https://punchng.com/breaking-lagos-court-convicts-cosmetic-surgeon-adepoju-over-clients-death/ At this point , make everybody mount their guard make person no go die carelessly and they will insult the person’s memory by giving useless justice in the court

Jodera:We can only hope David Moyes will go all out for his boy Arteta , at least if Pep no wan gree make his adopted son prosper , the biological father Moyes who brought Arteta to Spain can do something about it. He should do it for fatherly love abeg 😒 |
mostob:I knew it was inevitable. He will definitely get a decent club where the pressure is not as much as Arsenal and he will get a chance to play well; if he's lucky to get a nice manager he may even be tried in midfield role. He needs to play regularly cos of his position in Ukrainian National team and we can't guarantee him that considering his poor form this season. |
mostob:U sure say no be Zinchencko be the current poison wey dey this team with all those his below average performance this season? ![]() |
Iamoyindamola which series wey make sense wey dey available now? |
The Chairman, Kano State Chapter of MURIC, Malam Hassan Indabawa, who made the call on Thursday night in a statement, urged Nigerians to learn to respect one another’s culture and traditions. This part burst my head sha ! ![]() So if a girl lose both parents and is traumatized, the therapy for that trauma is to marry her off in their culture? We different gan for this country o. We are really not one at all; like I find the whole thing strange and illogical |
izzou:Hadin been I know her, I for give her dirty slap ![]() Theflint1 no vex my brother, now I agree with u say the woman dey do anyhow. |
iamoyindamola:Like u will just be listening to radio while driving and u will hear radio station announcing that they want to do oro traditional rites in Ikorodu and people are warned to stay indoors. I will just be like : Whicj kind nonsense be this ? 🤦♂️ Funny enough, Ikorodu seem like the most populated area of Lagos after Alimosho . Sometimes a Traditional ruler will die in this Lagos and u will hear them announcing on radio that for 3 days markets in such areas are not to open because of traditional rites for the demise of the king. I will just be wondering which kind true culture dey stagnate economic activities. |
afrodoc2: ![]() Some things, in fact many things just happen in this country wey no make sense. |
larride:You are also right, but some employers no send u. They care less about where u stay ; in such instances the onus is on u to arrange for a friend or relative or colleague who stays close to ur work place whom u can crash with for those days. I remember around 2009/2010 when I used to go hustle around that Ikorodu side . Places like Imota and other towns on the outskirts of Ikorodu will do their traditional festival for one full week ( I think they call it Eluku or something like that ). For that one week , they will just ground economic activities unnecessarily . I used to wonder if people working in banks and other modern offices will take one full week leave or their employers will just allow them stay off work without consequences . |
iamoyindamola:Ur experience is obviously different from his. Na so naija be. I have read about different people's experience on the same matter, some got theirs early like u did while others got theirs in 3 months following same process. I guess it is the immigration people that are definitely messing up the system. |
Happy Birthday to the man behind the rejuvenation; our director of football : EDU GASPAR !

Pix 1- League Table last season after 38 games. NB: Man city lost 5 games last season and finished with 89 points to win the league Pix 2- League Table after 37 games this season . Arsenal has lost 5 games and will most likely finish 89 points (which is 2 points better than last season’s) while city will most likely finish with 92 points if they should win West Ham. Any discerning mind can see that Arsenal posting city’s figures last season ordinarily should have won us the league under normal circumstances . . ….. Like , Arsenal did improve on their last season’s performance but so did city . When some of us talk about the Pep factor , it is not an excuse for failure as it is being deliberately misinterpreted ; rather it is just speaking to the fact that we are actually making progress albeit not at the same rate city is doing hence why we have been unable to unseat them as champions . Personally I think this team Arteta has assembled is a work in progress and we are almost there . I believe if for some reason the management believes Arteta needs to leave for the team to clinch major silverware , then the management should be getting us big name replacements with proven track records like Ancelotti , Zidane , etc and not another mid level manager that is coming in to start building all over again . Finally I think it is high time we all sheath our swords and let’s discuss about progress of the club from this current position we are in. I mean we can discuss some of the issues we see that is wrong with this present team and possible solutions instead of joining senseless rival fans to troll our own club because of differences in opinion about the manager’s future . For example one of the problems we have is how to break the spirit of teams who just come to play us with the intention of frustrating our play; some teams come to play low block which we find hard to break down, others come to set up counter attack to catch our defenders upfield . As of today we have already sorted our defensive issues as we have like the best defence in the league; a defence that rivals city’s and our GK is the golden glove winner . What do we do about attack especially against stubborn teams ? How do we improve on that ?

Theflint1:The intending bridegrooms go just be like “ which kind wahala be this “? 😁 |
TemporaryHansel:U are conflating issues on this one. On the Supreme Court ruling on female child inheritance , once the Supreme Court has made such pronouncement, it is already the law. If today in the south east a female is denied her inheritance by her people, she can take the matter to court and the court will award the inheritance to her . If any of the family members thereafter goes against such judgement , then the court will hold them in contempt. They can be jailed for that . To the child marriage issue , if a case on it gets instituted and it gets to Supreme Court level…. If the Supreme Court rules against child marriage, then it will form a precedent and going forward such judgement will be a reference point to fight future cases. If I still remember my intro to General principles of law correctly , I think when it comes to customary laws/cultural issues there’s usually what they call repugnancy test . i . e the court will have to test if a customary or cultural practice is not repugnant to natural justice, equity and that such practice is not perceived to be inhuman and obnoxious . Child marriage is obviously obnoxious and inhuman when u consider it is one of the causes of serious medical conditions like VVF. |
izzou:That one sef dey 😁 But on a norms sha the judge will be expected to interpret the law and not pass his religious believe as judgement . |
Theflint1:It is not a cultural issue per se. The child rights act which protects the right of the girl child and actually does not support child marriage has been domesticated by 34 out of 36 states in this country . (It’s only Kano and Zamfara that are yet to codify the law in their respective states) Well I don’t know if Shari’a law supersedes the Child Rights act, but certainly this is not a cultural issue but one that bothers on the legality of the honorable’s actions. For all it is worth , I will like the ministry to take the matter up in court and let them test the matter in a law court . Let’s see how it goes |
Theflint1:He actually knows what he’s doing ; he milks every controversy he’s enmeshed in to push his craft . Only few people can do that in the industry . He’s a very smart ruffian . |
izzou:I don’t even take all of those kinikan kinikan days serious . Any day wey no be public holiday no concern me |
izzou:Abi. The news that would make much difference is if Dubai visa ban is lifted . There are people who have genuine business in Dubai and have not been able to go due to the visa ban wahala |
Portable may be a lot of things negative , but he’s also one of the most intelligent guys currently in the music business in Nigeria https://www.instagram.com/reel/C7BWQUjtKpM/?igsh=MTlycTVuZXdndXFvaQ== The weyrey even add the soundbite of the people wey arrest am inside song 😂 He was released yesterday on bail and today he already has a song about the incident out. Guy is milking every negative situation to make money . It will shock the lady car owner that na proceed of the music he go use pay the gbese 😂😂 |
GloriousGbola:Chai! This is one of the reasons why most people who agitate for disintegration of this country do so. Like we are so different in “culture “; the things that seem normal in the north appears abnormal to us here in the south and vice versa . I also had my own share of cultural shock during NYSC when I was walking in town with fellow coroners and I hung my hands across the female corper’s shoulder without much self awareness. I no know say as we Dey waka almost everybody was looking at us with a sneer on their faces at my “disgusting” public show of affection. It took me few minutes to figure the reason why everyone focused their attention on us cos that is actually not the first time they are seeing corpers. As I realize what the issue is, I quickly adjusted o cos they actually had sharia law in force , but it appears it doesn’t really apply to non-Muslims/ non-indigenes . From that day I just try to be on my best behavior once I’m not within our safe space ( Corpers lodge and the school compound ) |
Theflint1:If u read the woman's petition to the IGP, u will see where she mentioned the issue of Childs right act. How can a lawmaker be seen not only encouraging but sponsoring the marriage of underage girls in their dozens and then tagging it as constituency projects? I don't think the woman is in the wrong for raising the issue ; it is within the purview of her office. Except of course if we are saying she's only on the seat to protect the right of southern girl child and not northern girl child. This country sef! |
CrystalTiger:Well, it is her ministry's job to speak to these things but then I agree with u that the conspiracy of silence on the part of other high ranking government officials no make sense at all. The fact that she's a southern woman sef will make the speaker and his imams dare her to carry on with the yeye weddings. |
Olowunl01:Funny how everyone suddenly forget this is Nigeria where government behave like they are above the law over and over again. This is naija where government and its agencies don’t even obey express court orders. No be today government Dey take irresponsible decisions and heaven did not fall. When they eventually take those decisions we thought they won’t dare, it is still government’s supporters/apologists that will still explain it away |
larride:U are still not getting it. Let’s say FG decides to raise T-bills , government bonds and other finance instruments . Will it be specific to PFAs alone ? Will PFAs be under compulsion to invest in those instruments or it will be their prerogative to either invest in them or look at other investment vehicles ? The tone of that news article sounds as if the FG is gunning for pension funds whether the PFAs and PFCs like it or not. The fact that FG even put a figure on the amount they are looking at and they were specific about pension funds makes it look somehow . Well, let’s wait for more clarifications sha |
