Spy360: You are isolating two seasons for Van Persie but taking 6seasons for Giroud. That's not fair. Giroud wasn't exceptional but he was average in terms of being useless either. He is just a normal striker. He is currently the record goal scorer for France. If this does not mean a thing to you guys then no apologies. Oga the discussion is about who was a better striker for us and clearly it is Van Persie. He scored 30 goals twice and 18 goals twice. Giroud highest was 16 and he only managed to achieve that twice. E say that's not fair . Na me hold him leg and head not to score while his mates are scoring? Maybe u don't know that Wilfred Bony of Swansea (A much lower quality team to Arsenal) that year sef score 16 EPL goals in two seasons. |

GloriousGbola: My old place had a terminal that was from the 70s. The company's crown jewel. We were looking for oyibo partners and these people came in for an assessment of the company's assets. They told our ogas at the top your terminal has a net book value of zero.
It was after that management went on a gradual process of demolition and reconstruction within the terminal. The difference is that this was a terminal for fuel storage, so no need for any 'refurb' - just dismantle the tank and build and new one in it's place.
If anyone is to look at the actual numbers involved on the refurb of the refineries vs cost of construction of a new one I am sure we will find the rehabilitation was a bad financial decision. I expect the refurb to work because Buhari did engage professionals - but will still amount to a waste of funds driven by nostalgia for a business model that failed from day one. I was going to ask: "Why has no government even come up with an idea of building a new refinery instead of the perennial turnaround maintenance ?" At least we can't claim Dangote who sat down to conceive the idea of building a new refinery is richer than Nigeria. All the money Buhari was borrowing from international organizations and spending on infrastructures that can't pay for themselves, if he at least built one refinery his name won't be forgotten. |

https://www.thecable.ng/exclusive-nigeria-to-pay-afrexim-nnpc-3-3bn-loan-with-12bn-worth-of-oil/amp lol It's normal for any entity that arranged a facility to get a fee for their service na. Going by the nairametrics link u posted earlier , its AfreximBank and UBA that are the international & local arranger respectively so the $66m or 2% fee will go to them. I don't see any cause for alarm here. If UBA was not the local arranger it would have been any other bank like StanbicIBTC, StanChart, Access, etc. Except the issue u have with the facility arrangement is that the terms are not favorable to us as regards the interest. Well, the interest rate may be due to our existing foreign debt, risk of deafault or any other factor. It's now the job of analysts/media to analyze it and tell us maybe we didn't make the best out of the deal as much as we could. |

When I gave the illustrations below pix, that is exactly what I meant. Take away his last season for Arsenal and RVP would have been completely anonymous and below average. Whereas Giroud howbeit not spectacular but was consistent in delivering double figures throughout his stay apart from his last season. How can u take away his last two seasons? Everybody that watched Arsenal knew Van Persie was almost always injured which frustrated him and the fans alike. When he was eventually healthy he proved he was not an average striker like Giroud was all through his stay at Arsenal. I see u struggle to accept Giroud was average all through his stay, but it is what it is. Their goal haul is there for everyone to see na Haba! |

I doubt the old refineries can compete with Dangote and Bua's bigger and more modern Refineries though. If Northerners never ready to join the protest, the government will still find way to bring it under control. If any revolution will succeed in this country, it must start in the north. My reason for saying this is very simple; the southerners can easily be divided by the government along tribal lines, religious lines, cultural lines and so many other lines u can think of. The northerners are much more homogenous in their culture; once they band together to take a course of action they are mostly indivisible. I may be wrong tho, but that is what I think |

Yar'Adua was pressure by powerful people to reverse the sale, since the refineries present probably their biggest avenue to loot the Country without fear of probe. NNPC doing turnaround maintainance on our refineries for years without any end result can be considered the biggest scam ever, we wait to see if Tinubu Presidency will finally get the refineries working again.... Maybe there were powerful hands behind the scene pulling the strings, u never can tell. But the Labour unions and the media kicked against the sale & they were very vocal about it. The real question is, even if the refineries are eventually turned around successfully can they compete with refineries built from scratch with new modern technology? If the MD of shell as at early 2000's advised Obasanjo to do away with the refineries, does it not suggest that some of the technologies put to use in those refineries are almost obsolete? |

If Yar Adua had not reversed the sale of the moribund refinery to Dangote & Otedola backed Consortium that year, we would not be in this position now. We would by now have at least one working refinery run by the private sector and nobody will be talking about any round tripping of dollars resulting from Emefiele making dollars available to Dangote Refinery at official rate. |

GloriousGbola: It is the Nigerian attitude towards loans. The average Nigerian sees a loan as free money. Go to any thread where loan apps are being discussed and you will see Nigerians aggressively defending taking loans and not paying back. And this is a problem across all strata of society - since we have so many so called billionaires who also take loans with no plan or intention of paying back I was at a bank last week having a chat with the customer service and beside me was another guy who came to complain at the customer service he received a debit alert around 2.am for a transaction he never initiated. The customer service lady requested for his account details and spooled his account for details of the transaction. She asked if he has any sports betting account linked to his account and he responded No. After further review of his transaction details she asked if he took loan from a particular loan company and he answered yes. After further probing from the lady, he confirmed he was due to pay them at a particular due date but his account was not funded. As soon as his December salary entered , those ones just collect their money while he was sleeping at 2.am . He was now saying he's confused because he logged on to his loan app and it still shows he has outstanding with them (obviously the debit has not yet reflected because he came to the bank around 8.15am). I been wan laugh but I just comport myself make the guy no change am for me He came with the mindset of fighting with them in the bank that they did unathorized debit on his account, only for the bank to let him know that they didn't initiate the transaction but he did based on whatever document he had sign with the loan app company. |

the real problem is that EFCC is only good for media performances and not actual convictions
that Dozzy guy being investigated by the Feds is blowing the usual grammar, but when you are indicted by the US DOJ, your goose is already cooked. The bold is the crux of the matter. EFCC is good at issuing press statements, "storming business premises & residential premises of suspects", doing detention here and there, etc and after months of court hearings the suspects will walk and sometimes the court will even order EFCC to pay the suspects damages. The only person out of that class will be Henry who will score 60 or Lacazette who will score 36. Based on the evidential analysis above, no one should call Giroud useless. Spy360: First of all, this argument is not about Giroud Vs RVP. It was some of us that brought that up out of desperation simply because I brought out stats of main strikers for Arsenal which even included Henry, Adebayor and Lacazette. So why are they not comparing Giroud with Lacazette why RVP? That's because they want to score a cheap point.
The argument is whether Giroud was useless playing for Arsenal and I brought up stats to prove that he wasn't useless as suggested by haters. Someone that has similar stats with RvP and Adebayor cannot be classified as useless irrespective of how we hate him.
If it was Chamarch, we'll Ok. But please not Giroud.
No body is arguing their levels of quality but as far as their stats show (for Arsenal only as Jodera demanded) their figures are not world apart as some of you may want to force us to accept and the stats is only in games they actually participated not when they were injured or didn't feature at all. Giroud himself has more accolades/medals generally than RVP both for club and country. But let's leave that aside. Facts don't lie only people do even with facts slapping them on the face. Plenty talk yet no evidence to prove Giroud was not an average striker for Arsenal. Bang average! Na who get time go dey follow u do amala turning. |

Until the injunction is lifted and security vote expenditures viewed through public scrutiny prisms, the insecurity in Nigeria would only continue to get worse. Devil supposed punish each and every member of the judiciary that granted such injunction. The judiciary is one very critical accessory to corruption in this country and most times we overlook them.
