SportsRe: Why We Banned Siasia For Life, By FIFA by BluntBoy(m): 12:28pm On Aug 18, 2019
obojememe:
he go stil pay fine...

iffa hear
If he doesn't pay, he would have to go to court.

Siasia does not seem to have the resources to fight a battle against FIFA.

He should however go to court and see if the status quo would be maintained until the end of the case. In that way, the ban would not take effect until Siasia's case against FIFA ends.

But then, no one may want to do business with Siasia.

He is the bigger loser in this case.

Lol. I'm wondering. Considering he has been banned for life already. Is he still bound to pay the fine? Of yes, what will happen if he decides not to pay?
If he decides not to pay, FIFA might drag him to court.

Siasia does not look like he has the money for a court case that might drag.

He should first attempt to make his ban case. If he loses, he should negotiate the fine amount with FIFA or plead for forgiveness of fine.

Please tell me. I don't know
This article is not the only expose on the Abani mess.

There are many others who have investigated Abani's claims and found nothing with which to establish a foundation of truth.

How come no one, aside Abani himself, can/or has corroborated Abani's claims? Abani said he was persecuted right from his days at the university but not one activist, not even the leader of the Student Union at that time remembered such travails?

Abani has also said severally that Wole Soyinka is his role model and that he (Abani) used theatre activism to deal with the government the same way Soyinka did. While Soyinka's activism can be verified easily, no one remembers Abani's theatre activism or imprisonment on account of them. Not even Professor Tess Onwueme of the Theatre Art at that time.

Even Sowore has evidence of his activism during the June 12 protest. But Abani has no proof. His only evidence is a supposed fellow activist who is now dead and can't be interviewed.

And reading baseless stories here on nairaland isn't proof either that he lied. Meanwhile you think the American government don't know what they're doing? They still integrated him into their society and he lives there legally having a better life than the liars and tribal bigots that you are a part of
Do you know the meaning of baseless?

Were you there when all these things happened? Do you know about his travails? You talk like you know more than the American government. Since you're the only one who can read I guess you know more than them. But they know better so they integrated him into their society and he's living a far better life than you.
How did you know this?

You see what an hypocrite you are? You asked if I was there when all Abani's supposed travails happened.

Now, I ask you, how did you know Abani lives a better life than me? Is it because he lives outside Nigeria? grin

I have not drawn my conclusion. I have only written that it would be bad if the travails were lies because Abani has benefited a lot from them.

As for you, you are merely blindly supporting because you are an Abani. Being an Abani is not enough proof that you are right about Abani's honesty.

Your OP used one word on the Wikipedia entry as the basis for calling the man a liar.

The man does not owe you or the OP any explanation. If you think his stories are lies, then debunk it with verifiable facts - not Wikipedia entry or baseless innuendoes.
He didn't use a Wikipedia entry to call Abani a liar.

Abani tells his unverifiable stories whenever on tour, and even on TED. So, I don't know where you read that Wikipedia was the basis of the OP's conclusion.

The article was actually written by Ikheloa Ikhide in 2011. Ikhide is a well known writer. I very much doubt that the OP (that is, the person that created this thread) is Ikhide Ikheloa.

The article went viral again yesterday because Ikhide shared it after the news of the arrest of the Invictus guy. Many news outlets and blogs have republished the article.

Ikhide has been attacking Chris Abani online for a long time.

It kind of reminds me of the battle between Professor Wole Soyinka and Professor Ali Mazrui in the 1990s.

How so? I don't see why anyone would like this man based on the supposed crooked ways he used to project himself to the world.

You can like him because he is a good writer but to say you even like the man because he is a shameless brazen liar is hard to understand.

Go to Wikipedia and read about Christopher ABANI, don't read posts by tribalistic fools who only care to dent people's image. Christopher Abani is a better Nigerian than the whole of op's lineage. I'm an Abani and I'm proud of it. OP'S lineage and surname can't boast of anything, never stood up for anything and will remain cowards and social media warriors only, forever.
Can you read at all?

After reading about Abani's falsehood, you are honestly asking us to go and disprove the OP by checking Wikipedia of all placeshuh

Whether Abani is better than the OP or not is not the issue. The issue is "did he lie about his travails?"

These travails, more than his brilliance as a writer, have helped his image tremendously. It would be very bad if the travails were lies because it would mean that Abani used crooked means to project himself to the world.

I thought I was the only one who noticed Atiku was referring to HIMSELF, and not Invictus, as the largest private employer of labour in Rivers State.
Don't mind some people. They don't read very well before drawing conclusions.

I saw the title and still decided to thoroughly examine Atiku's post. I am not a fan of his. But I am not a fan of fake news either.

Then we need to modify the system like the way Russia is doing to suit us. We need a guided form of democracy.
That has always been my argument.

We need to change our political system. It is not working for us at all.

We also need to reduce the size of our legislature, or we can make it wages per seating rather than monthly salary whether they sit or not.

We are waiting too much money on government.

And that's exactly the kind of system that will suit a country like ours. I don't think we are still matured to practice liberal democracy. We need an iron hand..
An iron hand is only obtainable under military rule. Even Buhari lamented that civilian rule will limit him.
PoliticsRe: Invictus Obi: Nigerians Drag Forbes, Atiku, Others For Promoting Fraudster by BluntBoy(m): 1:41pm On Aug 17, 2019
I don't like Atiku one bit, but in this case, he never endorsed Invictus Obi.

Rather, he was explaining to Obi that he (Atiku) has a lot of investment and that he (Atiku) is the largest private employer in Rivers. His failure to punctuate where necessary caused the misunderstanding.

One thing I have however noticed about Atiku is his perchance for avoiding the personal pronoun just to sound like a selfless man.

He only fools gullible people.

Stop comparing countries because we practise a different style of government from them.

The UK practise parliamentary system of government and the US practice true federalism where power is shared equally between the central government and the component units.

Moreover, the passage of bills can be slow because of the size of our legislature and also because of corruption.

Moreover, we are talking about military vs civilian here.

If you check history, you will see that we got more benefits and lasting legacies from the military than from civilian governments. This is so because under military rule, there is no constitution to check the power of the ruler. And there is no Senate to slow down his policies.

Babangida did all these with oil price at about $15 dollars/ barrel and he never whined that oil price should have been higher. Compare that to Buhari who has done nothing! Yet, whines every day that $60 - $70 dollars per barrel oil price is too low for him!

If IBB had not annulled June 12 election, he would have been the greatest Nigerian President ever!
IBB was a dictator. He dictated and his orders were followed. You can't achieve that as a civilian president because there is division of power. And to crown it, IBB was there for 8 years.

You can't compare military rule of 8 years to civilian rule of 8 years. The military ruler enjoys absolute power but the civilian president needs to share power with other arms of government which can slow down policy implementation.

SportsRe: Oparanozie: Super Falcons Deserve Same Pay Like Super Eagles by BluntBoy(m): 10:28am On Aug 17, 2019
Women need to understand that they don't get paid less because they are women.

Even football is business. The Super Eagles generate more returns than the Super Falcons can ever do.

In summary, the Super Eagles are more marketable than all our female teams put together.

That the US female team is doing it does not mean that it is right for the Nigerian team to do so too. The US team is not only the most successful female team in world football, it is also just as marketable as the US male team, if not even more.

You lack wisdom..

1st thing 1st,what grounds have the govt provided for the teeming people who are ready to give their all?
How many organisations have been closing shop and relocating to other countries?

Those business people whose containers and trucks keeps falling off cos of bad roads, are they sitting idle and waiting?
The various Nigerians, artisans who power their respective ventures with private generators after paying nepa bills thru the nose for darkness, for decades, are they sitting idle?

You wanna join the forces and serve your fatherland and you will have to come from a certain tribe/religion to stand a good chance, you will have to pay your way thru.

Please don't just open you mouth and be quoting nuggets fit for only for places where things work on a place of animals
And how are this government's fault alone?

Nepotism is rife even in private sectors. Is that also government's fault. There are parents who pay for expos for their children during exams, is that also government's fault? People refusing to pay tax is also government's fault? Many people using electricity illegally is also government's fault?

The emergence of Gej was divine.
Nothing good comes easy.

The move if God is always nit rosy and it's left fir the people to use wisdom.
The north never has any good plan for the country and the divine emergence of gej was heaven's plan to set us other Nigerians free from their shackles but all thanks and praise be to the sophisticated Yorubas, the divine arrangement was destroyed and gGid gave them that which they desired.
Any Yoruba man that campaigned for and voted for buhari and is today complaining about Same buhari or disturbing God about same buhari,THUNDA!!!!!!!!
And the emergence of Buhari is devilish abi?

Anyone who hears the way you all praise GEJ, one would think that under him, there was never insecurity, and that power supply was 24/7. One would think that there was no corruption and there were no human rights abuses.

God gave us Buhari as a punishment for rejecting his candidate!!!
What is happening to Nigeria is not so different from what happened to the children of Israelites when they started clamoring for a king like the other nation and God gave them Saul to realise the errors of their way!!!
Buhari won fair and square. The voice of the people is the voice of God.

And mind you, God never made Saul king to punish the Israelites. If not that Saul later disobeyed God, he would have continued to win battles after battles.

As a matter of fact, the only battle he lost came after he disobeyed God.
