Noblejay7:
Their last match ended in a draw as a result of a split decision by the three man panel of judges. That to me feels like wilder was robbed because he made fury kiss the canvas twice in that match.

I see wilder taking the day if the officiating will be fair.
On the contrary, it was Fury that was robbed.

Samuel Peter knocked Wladmir Klitschko down 3 times but still lost because Wlad dominated him all night.

It is the same thing that happened that day that Fury was robbed. Wilder was outboxed and outpointed all night, and yet the judges thought that 2 knockdowns equals all the punishment that Wilder received at the hands of Fury.

Fury should have gotten a decision.

But then, it was all his fault as well. He should have known that he couldn't get a decision against Wilder in America with all her bias judges doing their nationalism nonsense.

Trying to play the fool like he did against Wlad when he should be more interested in avoiding knockdowns cost him the fight.

Wilder is not even supposed to be a match for Fury. If it were outside America, Fury would have been declared winner.

He was clearly the winner of that bout.

And on Sunday morning, if he is not careless, he should demolish Wilder.

Wilder is the major fraud in the HW. He can't box. He gets outboxed all the time and always depends on connecting a right hand to win.

You can't do that to my wife and still be breathing, except if she's at fault.
Anyway, there are 2 or 3 sides to a story.
I am interested in knowing what you would do.

However, I will give you a piece of advice. Look before you leap.

In matters like this, making a complaint at the police station is the best option. It was said that nothing came out of police investigation, but at least there are other options which the man is already exploring.

Many of these landlords are former thugs and they roll with guys who will not even bat an eyelid to butcher you with machetes.

Supposing you even end up killing the landlord, what would be your fate? If the reprisal attacks don't consume you, the long hands of the law will catch you and you will pay for your rash behavior with your life. Even your woman would not like this.

Anyway, I don't believe the woman's story. It is too casual. There might be elements of truth in it but it doesn't sound entirely truthful.

We both want a relationship that ll lead to marriage..
All she wants is My love, support And advice.
All I want from her is love too.
I think we are in same page bro..
There is nothing to be scared about.

Life is a gamble. You can get hurt even if you are dating an older supposedly more experienced woman. So, why worry about age gap? Marrying someone older or far younger than you is not as important as the person themselves. It is a matter of the person, and not of the age gap. She is 19, and an adult, so you are not doing anything wrong

Don't worry about the age gap. In some years time, she might grow older faster and you people will age the same (looking good/perfect together).

So, work on the relationship. Accidents happen, but has that stopped us from traveling or using cars?

So, instead of worrying that she is far younger than you, why not look at the brighter side of life such as the love you both share. I can tell you that there are some people stuck in loveless relationships even though both partners are about the same age.

You people don't even know this girl. You are judging her by her age.

You think every 25 year old lady is smarter or more experienced than a 19 year old girl?

Before you think she is just cracking out of her shell, know her first. Don't use age as a factor. Age is sometimes just a number.

She has an ND. That is not someone just cracking out of her shell. She may even be more experienced than you, even in love matters grin

Y'all like younger women because they are easy to manipulate nd exploit at the same time! What is stopping him from waiting for her for three more years by that time she will definitely know what she wants if She's truly interested in this age gap shit! A girl at that age have no mind of her own!!
What is wrong with a 19 year old girl dating a man in his late 20s?

All 19 year old girls are not the same. Some are even smarter and more exposed than some 30 year old women.

Good sir, our history must not be tied to hollywood before accepting that there's a history

U are really not even getying my point... At this point We should be talking about the way forward and not names to use
No one is denying that we need to move forward, but it doesn't mean we should not mention that name.

All of the Indian film industries, including Bollywood, are fast moving forward, since many American film studios now have offices in India, and the government is heavily invested in the industries, but still producers and film makers still condemn the name Bollywood because they say it makes them feel like a subsidiary of Hollywood.

Bollywood came about at the time when the Indian cinema based in Bombay (now Mumbai) was giving Hollywood a competition for their money, and so some gossip journalist replaced "Holly" with "Bolly" (Bombay).

Till today, many producers don't even like it.

And that is what Dejumo Lewis is doing too.

A name is not insignificant as you want me to believe. A name is just as important.

Football is not all about dribbling.

Kanu was a far more intelligent player and dribbler than Okocha.

And in 1997, Victor Ikpeba was simply phenomenal.

However, I have heard that the 1996 award should have gone to Daniel Amokachi but was given to Kanu because the organizers felt that with his heart problem, Kanu will never play beyond 1996. More like robbing Peter to pay Paul.

But there is no denying Kanu's prowess.

While AJ enjoys his time in naija, he should remember he has owes the world a fight with wilder. With that in mind, he should spend more time training on how to absorb real hard punches on the scale of wilders'.
He will beat Wilder.

All he needs to do is avoid Wilder's right hand.

Wilder gets schooled all the time. He is an average boxer with a powerful right hand.

In summary, the only thing Wilder has going for him is his right hand.

AJ has at least some skills, and has powerful combinations, and can fight strictly to instructions like he showed against Parker and Ruiz II.

Christians ar not against Muslim but Muslims ar the one against Christians.

Boko Haram kidnapped so many girls nd later released them except the only Christian girl among them nd u still saying that those people ar not fighting for Islam

Buhari should stop telling all these story, is he saying if it was his own daughter he wouldn't have made sure that the Boko Haram released her long time ago.

I wonder who bring this concept that we ar all children of Abraham. So who ar the father of Jewish, Hindu, Confucians, ATR?
There are no evidences that Muslims are against Christians.

Muslims and Christians have cohabited in many Northern states for years. There are a lot of churches in the North.

The problem is fanaticism, not Muslims. Fanatical Muslims like Boko Haram are the ones against Christians. And they are not only against Christians. They are against anyone who doesn't share their ideologies, including fellow Muslims.

They hate the Sultan of Sokoto as much as they hate the Pope, and they will kill him if they have the chance.

I know it is possible, but it would be hard.

For instance, the lecturer might have some of his own inputs in the work. It would be hard to tell which part of the work was plaigiarized.

Moreover, undergraduate projects are often regarded as mostly unoriginal, unlike master's and PhD thesis.

Many All of the undergraduate research works are always cross-sectional, rather than experimental. So, it is not like you are working on something largely new. You are just merely cross-examining.

TV/MoviesRe: Are These The Reasons Some Nigerians Don't Watch Nollywood Movies? by BluntBoy(m): 3:25pm On Feb 18, 2020
safarigirl:
what else do you think they should be after?

Bear in mind, the budget is always small, compared to even the Hollywood movie from the 70's budget, and even at that, you have to select the Hollywood movies.

Tyler Perry's movies are mostly questionable, but he has a lot of fans and makes his money fine and good. His is even worse, because he stereotypes characters and the props are trash, that is Hollywood too....but that is low budget Hollywood.

Low budget Hollywood money, is still more than the average high budget Nollywood money. You cannot give what you don't have.

That being said, many Nollywood movies are improving with the props, I recently watched God Calling and the Special Effects were decent. Have you watched it?

I think my issue with New Nollywood is their lack of storyline, poor script writing and the actors need to imitate Hollywood at times. Old movies like Igodo, Festival of Fire and even A Cry for Help, may not have had the fancy effects, but they had spirit. They were interesting and the script writing was brilliant (I have had to recently watch the older movies to gave a better appreciation of these movies).

So many Nigerians have this idea of Nollywood that is stuck in a period and they easily pick out only the negatives, without appreciating the positives. It is an innate thing for Africans to pick out the negatives in their works, and hammer on it, rather than focus on the positives, but give them American movies and they will swallow them hook, line and mugu, even when Americans make politically incorrect statements.

Hollywood don't even know the difference between a Nigerian, Kenyan and South African accent. They don't know which country is what in Africa, they can't align names to the correct ethnicities or even countries at times, but Africans easily overlook such incorrect representations. If na Nollywood now, everyone will notice Jim Iyke's wrong accent.

If the older script writers and actors merged with the new directors, producers, some actors and special effects guys, we could have something great
Film making is an art, and making money should not be all to it.

Read the reason why banks run away from contributing to Nollywood:

AGAINST the backdrop of criticism that Corporate Nigeria is refusing to contribute to the growth of the industry through partnership on film projects, a bank MD, who prefers anonymity said recently that it is difficult to work with an industry which is lacking in structure. He said that although some Nollywood filmmakers are trying their best in the field, he described majority of the players as charlatans, who cannot put up an ordinary business proposal.
https://www.nigeriafilms.com/celebrity-gossips/128-nollywood-on-fire/14736-why-banks-may-never-sponsor-nollywood-movies-again

Film making is a business, and making money is important. But film making is also an art, and so money making is not all of it.
TV/MoviesRe: Are These The Reasons Some Nigerians Don't Watch Nollywood Movies? by BluntBoy(m): 3:10pm On Feb 18, 2020
nextstep:
It really pains me when people abuse Nollywood. This is an industry that has grown from grassroots, and is now blossoming and showcasing Nigeria to the world.

It was because the Japanese loved their mediocrity, as did the Indians, Taiwanese, and (earlier on) the Americans, that they now make content beloved around the world. The early movies from all these places are now cringe-worthy, but even so, Oyinbo will still speak lovingly of their own faults, calling such terrible movies "cult status", "seminal" and "vintage".

If you don't watch your own, it will never grow and develop. The same Nollywood people are abusing is the source of some excellent films lately; it has trained lots of the talent we're now seeing on Netflix and grossing millions in the cinemas.

The current success would not have been possible without "sweating ghosts" and "Madam P tasting the poisoned food".

In American movies, 1000 bullets shot, but not one hits the hero. Car explosions galore, but somebody ends up with just a single cut on their forehead. Insane, physics-defying jumps, but no broken bones. Show me an American poster and I can summarize the plot for you, whether it's one of romantic comedy, cop and robbers, scary, or lone wolf against bad industrialist.
Are you asking people to support mediocrity?

And who told you Japanese and Americans supported their mediocrity? They criticized their film makers and got them to work harder. Even today, with the immense use of technology in Hollywood, there are still many websites that enjoy examining and listing out bloopers in major Hollywood movies. When you support mediocrity, it means you like it.

The problem with Nollywood is a lack of structure, and absolute laziness of directors and actors.

Please, stop misinforming people. Mediocrity is bad and should never be supported. Hollywood got to the height it is today not because Americans supported mediocrity, but because Americans criticized and still criticize silly bloopers.

As for the predictability of Hollywood movies, you need to understand genres.

There are action films, there are fantasies, there are romance flicks, there are adventures, there are epic movies, there are horror movies, there are historical movies. The most predictable genre is action movies. You have the good guy and the bad guys. You already know that the good guy would finish off the bad guys at the end of the flick.

Then, there are genres such as epic movies which may have elements of the action movies, but which are based on true stories. We have movies like Gladiators which is based on the gladiatorial eras when the Roman Empire was at the peak of her powers.

What Hangers me most was, him shooting many shooters but the opponent bullet will never hit him, and his always hit the target.
Dropping his gun, just to fight another that is heavyly armed with bear hand combat.

We. All have flaws but that nollywood is worst though, especially their subtitles
Those are exaggerations, not flaws. Exaggeration is a stylistic device in theatre.

This is not to say that Hollywood is perfect.

But, Nollywood needs to work harder. There is no structure, the directors are damn lazy, and the actors are amateur at best.

Some of the mistakes that make the cuts in Nollywood are ridiculous. It is like no one cares. They are just after the money.

How can you shoot a movie and the boom mic keeps intruding on the scene, and the director cannot retake the shot or even find a way to erase the mic?

Then there are the ridiculous subtitles. How much time would it take to provide minimally correct subtitles? Watch some the movies, especially, the Yoruba movies, and you would be tempted to think that the subtitles were made by roadside mechanics.

Try and pick up a 1970s Hollywood movie like Coma, for instance. Now, pick a 2017 Nollywood movie and compare.

It is just disgraceful.

He made a great point.

If we have a law already holistically addressing sexual harassment, why create a new one?

If the old law is not doing enough with addressing the issue, the sensible thing to do is review that law, not create a new one.

We live in a country which likes to make laws but never enforces them. And when there are too many laws addressing the same issue, you will already know the type of incompetent legislators you have.

Maybe NUC actually goofed by allowing them lecture and become Professors without PhD in the past but it seems they realized their error.

The consultants want to continue becoming Professors without PhD. I laugh! Do they actually know the rigors of becoming a PhD holder?
They are not bigger than NUC that regulates them so if NUC says they cant become Professors without PhD then they should either join their colleagues who go on to acquire PhD or get out.
What is the rigour in PhD that is not in Residency?

Moreover, the issue is about lecturing, and not the professorial title.

A person who has completed a residency is well qualified to lecture in the universities and medical colleges.

Just like the MDCAN put it: "PhD is cosmetic". It is not harder than a residency, and it is only more research oriented.

Universities and medical colleges are places of learning and research. It is not totally about research. So, doctors without PhDs should be allowed to lecture too.
