etrange:This virus, just like HIV, may not be detectable until they have duplicated significantly. So, the virus might be in the body, but in undetectable number. The best bet, if you have been exposed, is to self-isolate yourself. Going for a test simply because you have been exposed might turn out a false negative. So, governments advice anyone who has been exposed to self-isolate themselves rather than go for testing. |
etrange:That is why it is called self-isolation. If you have been exposed to the virus, you have to self-isolate yourself, since the virus can be asymptomatic. Look at Ronaldo. He hasn't been tested, and has not shown any symptoms but because he has been exposed Daniele Rugani who tested positive for the virus, he is to self-isolate himself. |
There are no developed countries in Africa. Libya may have a solid nuclear physics foundation, but it fails on every other parameters of development. Moreover, all these countries' total population is not even up to the population of the South East of Nigeria. Look at Seychelles. Just over 90,000. University of Ibadan alone has over 30,000 students. It is very easy to govern those countries. |
Righteousness89:The Bible never condemned trousers. As a matter of fact, the Bible did not specify what was men's clothing or women's clothing. The Bible left that for culture to decide. Was there even trousers as at the time that verse was penned? Of course, not. And when trousers was invented thousand of years later, both men and women have been known to wear it just as both men and women have been known to wear robes. There are trousers made originally for women. Hope you know that? And there are unisex trousers, as well. Now, let us look at perspective. Women trousers are hardly ever as loose fitting as men's. Do you know that these trousers can act as a barrier against rapists. Unlike skirts which make the job of the rapist much easier? |
Righteousness89:You have a lot to learn, my friend. Since the Bible is the standard, and culture is nothing, how then can you explain this verse: A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this. (Deuteronomy 22:5) Some cultures have men wear robes. Jewish males wore earrings. What is the standard, if not culture? Jesus wore a robe. It was not out of place for Jews to wear robes. Do you wear a robe in your own culture? In some cultures, men wear skirts. In other cultures, only women wear skirts? So, what is the dress code according to the Bible? What about polygamy? It was not out of place for men, even men such as Solomon, to have more than one wife. And yet God was not concerned about the number of women he married but the types of women. As for war, soldiers go to the battlefield to kill. They don't go there to make friends. So, it is premeditated, only that under the law, it is a legitimate homicide. The Bible said "thou shalt not kill". Yet, judges are empowered to sentence people to death, and hangmen do the dirty jobs after priests have done their own part. And remember that culture forms a part of every country's constitution. And even the Bible asks us to respect constituted authorities. So, how can you say culture does not matter? If culture does not matter, how come even the face of Christianity has changed to embrace culture and the times? Reading the Bible one-dimensionally can cause you to have problems just like those who read the Quran in black and white. |
Righteousness89:Not even Jesus Christ sees the world as black and white. Some issues are a matter of perspectives. Take for instance, murder. A Commandment says we must not kill. But what constitutes killing? Will God punish a soldier for killing on the battlefield? It is the same with premarital sex. Many people have made mistakes because they waited till after their weddings to have sex with their spouses. We have had complaints of small dicks, extremely large dicks, impotence, frigidity, and false claims of being virgins. These are not small issues because sex is a very important aspect of the institution of matrimony. A poor sex life would ruin a marriage, and that is never God's plan for the institution of matrimony. |
I have the mathematical formula to fix our electricity. As a matter of fact, my mathematical formula can fix all of our problems. |
autonomous22: LilPeezy:You misunderstood him. What he meant is that Bayelsan girls are all ugly that Jonathan must have grown up knowing only ugly girls. So, when he met Patience, he must have thought she was a beauty queen. |
All these South South people with their crave for foreign sounding names. I even saw an obituary where the man's name was Electric. |
achillesfoot:We don't have alligators in Africa. What we have are crocodiles. You find alligators only in North America and Asia. As a matter of fact, there are only two major species: American and Chinese alligators. And mind you, that croc in the OP doesn't even look like an alligator, and so I wonder how you were certain it was an alligator. |
Yankiss:Many other African countries are protecting their wildlife. You get to see them feature on NatGeo Wild, and many foreigners go there on safari. But here in Nigeria, there are game laws, but no one enforces them. How can people kill a croc and display it on the internet without any consequences? With the danger of climate change, we can't even address the issue of ecosystem conservation. |
dangotesmummy: ![]() Well, I will take your advice. |
tiredoflife:Leaving early is the solution. It covers up for situations such as burst tires or repair works that might crop up. |
dangotesmummy:I had been clearing a backlog of work. It has been tiring, and so it made me sort of unwell. But, I am OK now. Thank you for asking, my sweet wuddlywukumy pumpkin ![]() |
dangotesmummy:Not very fine, but at least I am alive ![]() Anyway, I know you are fine, so just stay fine. |
dangotesmummy:Nothing. Just greeting you. |
People have been warned to avoid night travels, but some people are just destined to be lost due to their stubbornness. The security arms have warned about night travels in certain destinations, and corps members were especially warned. But, no, it is obviously very hard for some people to take simple instruction, even if their lives depended on it. |
dangotesmummy:SMH... |
Anger destroyed two people's lives. First of all, if Mr Lateef had only been a little bit more patient, he wouldn't be in police custody facing a murder charge. If Mrs Landlady had also just come out when the banging continued, and gave Mr Lateef a piece of her mind before opening the said door for him, she might just still be alive. How should they have resolved this issue? Supposing Mr Lateef indeed desperately needed to leave the house before 5:30, all he could have done was shout it rather than continue banging on the door or making threats. Many of us get angrier if someone threatens us. Maybe when Mr Lateef threatened to break down the door, Mrs Landlady decided to prove that she was more stubborn. Mr Lateef should have just shouted, "Ma'am, please, I need to leave now. It is an emergency". Banging the door probably made the landlady resolve to teach Mr Lateef a lesson, and when he threatened to break down her door, it made her even more determined to call off his bluff. Now, the question is: is the landlady's daughter who is now an eyewitness not strong enough to oversee the issue of opening and shutting the door? According to her account, Mrs Landlady (her mother) was saying that Mr Lateef shouldn't have banged on the door. I am taking it that this daughter was trying to prevail on Mrs Landlady to open the door for Mr Lateef, but Mr Lateef had created a wrong impression by banging rudely on the door in the first instance. Then, Mr Lateef left with a promise to come back and break down the door. Another question: why was Mr Lateef so angry? Had he had an altercation with the landlady before the issue in dispute? Even if Mr Lateef had an emergency, why was the need to bang on the door to show that he was in a hurry? Are there no better and more civil ways of dealing with such an issue? If Mr Lateef was indeed in a hurry, or had an emergency to deal with, how come he had enough time to escalate a simple issue? Did he think that if he broke down the door, his landlady would just hand him the keys and would not delay him by fighting him and thereby eventually wasting his time? This is tragic. |
Meninmen:Nawa o. Which is easier, to share a link or to write an essay? It is very obvious that you have been depending on hearsays. Because it is only hearsays that will be this hard for a human being to verify. Please, before you post the next epistle, think about which is easier, a copy and paste link, or another round of epistles? And which is more important? A link that clears all doubts or an epistle that proves absolutely nothing? |
Meninmen:You mean emirs have immunity? Anyway, why not provide a link, at least? I am very certain you went through school, and you ought to be used to citing information. |
NaijaOlosho:You ought to know by now what an infamous rabble-rouser FFK is? |
Antivirus92:Please, tell me when these police stations were attacked? I have links to sources that recorded police and army camps being attacked by Boko Haram under GEJ. Even a central police station was attacked under GEJ. Only misinformed or mischievous people will not notice a remarkable progress in the fight against terrorists. |
LegendaryLover:The ones that God showed them, which ones came to pass. Their churches get bombed in the North, but none of them ever sees it. Even Oyedepo who likes to curse never sees the disaster until it has happened. How can you people not see that Oyedepo and the others are scam artists? |
Meninmen:I need links to credible sources. And mind you, even if it were true that an investigation exonerated the government, how come it is still widely believed that the said amount went missing? If the government was truly innocent, how come they didn't sue Sanusi to retract an apology so as to prove their innocence? |
Antivirus92:Please, I am interested in knowing when these police stations and military camps were attacked? |
Cityguy:I merely used your own logic against you. You wrote that Oyedepo pays tax, and so has the right to criticize. But I have told you that Oyedepo does not pay tax, and so shouldn't criticize. |
wingmanIII:At least, you agree that half-baked graduates cannot be regarded as a contribution to any serious country. So, the question still stands: "What has Oyedepo contributed to this country?" |
wingmanIII:So, producing hundreds of half-baked graduates is a notable contribution? Mention one notable alumnus of Covenant University, and what contribution they have made in their fields? |
Afromentalist:You are right. And it takes a lot of guts to lie to people. I remembered during a service where I was a visiting evangelist, one of the other visiting ministers was trying to collect donations, and he began to use each of our names. For instance, he would say, "For pastor A, come out and show your appreciation to God in his life". I couldn't easily have sat down there and let people be swindled out of their hard-earned money in my name. No, I couldn't. So, I went to the minister and whispered in his ears, "my spirit tells me that this is not right". I mean this visitation was at a small parish in a village, and many in attendance were obviously poor. They had already collected two sets of offerings, as well as a thanksgiving offering. This is not to mention the offering for answered prayers. Now, that I no longer pastor within organized religion, I always feel at peace. Whatever preaching I do on Nairaland, I do it free as freely as I was given. And it makes me happy that I am doing my own bit of sincerely propagating the gospel. One needs to be heartless to become wealthy in pastoral ministry. And when those GOs tell you as a young pastor to remit this or that amount, they are indirectly forcing you to place a yoke on the church under your care. |
