GDP is the worth of total product and services produce and rendered in the area of interest per year

Revenue is how much the government can make from the revenue in terms of tax ...the global best practice is around 25% Nigeria is less than 5%

Forex earnings is the amount of foreign currency you earn because that's the only thing you can use for international trade
Thanks so much

It is foolishness of Zombidiots in comments like this that makes people get discouraged in simple national economic discussion

What brought urchin and shallowness in to this if not sheer stupidity and inability to function without unruly behavior
When you called Peter Obi names right inside this very thread,,, I ignored you totally on that..

Now someone mentioned urchins,, and you quickly remembered that you are discussing economics??

That is why we caution those celebrating IGR. Oil with little contribution to GDP has highest contribution to revenue, IGR is not a true measure of economic progress. GDP per capita is the accurate measure of progress
This is another way to view the whole thing

Politics › Re: Dino Melaye Says Peter Obi Acted Unpresidential And Demands An Apology From Him by BluntCrazeMan: 11:15am On Nov 07, 2022
REASONS WHY I WILL VOTE FOR PETER OBI.

1. He will block off all the financial leakages in the country, both the official leakages inside the Government, and the unofficial/illegal leakages every other “elsewhere” in Nigeria.

For those that would say that he cannot implement this, please they should go and verify this one below..

In Anambra, he succeeded in blocking off a lot of leakages, and cut down the cost of governance.
More taxes started going directly into the government purse, rather than into the purses of highly-placed individuals.
The IGR of Anambra increased under Peter-Obi, not just because he widened the tax-net,, but because he blocked-off a lot of the leakages.

2. He will definitely find ways to start making people to stop hoping to become rich while they are Not doing anything --- the spirit of “working”, productiveness, and investment will be cultivated in Nigerians, and the spirit of “showing-off” and huge spendings on irrelevant things and on frivolvolities would just die off. People would now be counted due to what they do, and not how much money they spend.

For those that would say that he cannot implement this particular one, please they should go and verify this one below too..

The workers in Anambra State started becoming productive. All those redundant and unproductive methods of doing “work” became obsolete in the State. He brought in productiveness into the system. He also started using locally-sourced vendors from amongst the people to supply goods and services to the Government,, (and he never towed the line of giving such contracts to the same “cronies” within the Government which he might have brought in into the Government. He didn't even bring in his “cronies” in his Government to start with.)
For the first time in Anambra State, Local Contractors got contracts without paying any sort of kickbacks.

3. He is more interested in developing the people of Nigeria more than he is interested in erecting incessant and unnecessary physical infrastructures, or in spending the money of Nigeria on frivolities. NO.. but he is more interested in developing the people of Nigeria (through things like education, and paying-per-hour policy). Though the physical infrastructures are good, but they are not all necessary for it be the sole purpose of his Government. He can only do the development of physical infrastructures when they are really supposed to serve the priority needs of the people. (That is, physical infrastructures such as power, education, and healthcare facilities.)
(He is not the type of president that would rush to build infrastructure projects in a locality where such projects are not the priority necessity of the people there).

For those that would say that he cannot do this particular one, please they should go and verify this one below too..

The Healthcare and Education systems in Anambra State became the highest ranked in the country for many years back-to-back, unchallenged.

4. Peter Obi is the only accessible Candidate. We hear from him directly. He is close to his social media followers and to the mainstream media too. (We don't want Presidents who are hiding away from people. Presidents who are always reaching to us through aides and assistants and cronies. And presidents whom we would continue to guess what exactly they have inside their minds at all times.)

For those that would say that he cannot do this particular one, please they should go and verify this one below too..

He was doing frequent audience phone-in programs on television and radio. People called to ask questions. And he answered all of them, or noted them..
Even recently, with the way he always made himself available to be questioned and interviewed by the mainstream media.., and his recent interaction with citizens on Zoom, it shows that we can always reach him. We have ways of getting him to answer our direct questions.
Politics › Re: What Are The Differences (& Similarities) Between GDP, Govt Revenue, And Forex? by BluntCrazeMan(op): 11:11am On Nov 07, 2022
Ireportlive:
No ... What I am saying is Obi needs to stop importing hienze ketchup, Sweet corn, canned beef and Amarula, with our forex and build a factory to supply him or sign a deal with Erisco and Dangote for the local production

This would greatly reduce our forex spending and give us a solid foreign reserve that would bring in more investors

If you widen the tax bracket, and make Okada riders , farmers , Traders and others in the informal sector pay more tax to Federal Government, you might risk taken them out of business and Killing your local economy and GDP
You're digressing from the issue.

We are still in 2022.
And Peter Obi is not the main reason for all those govt-revenue and forex statistics above.

What can the Government do differently??
(Or better put, what would the Government have done differently??)

I will suggest to HE Peter Obi to totally boycott any invite by Arise TV.

They always disrespect him despite using him to gather huge number of viewers to their highly biased station.

You will notice that they never ever address him as His Excellency.

They are always bold to address him as 'Obi' or 'Mr. Obi' as if he is their mate.

His Excellency can buy their useless station, including their owner and the entire staff!

That HE stoop too low to submit himself to serve this country doesn't give anyone the right to insult or ridicule him in any way even in his presence!

In fact, non of the press council members ever address Atiku as 'Atiku' they will rather call him his Excellency Turakin Adamawa same way they address tinubu by his title of Jagaban or Asiwaju!

These insults on the person of HE Peter Obi should stop forthwith!

OBI SHOULD STOP ATTENDING ARISE TV INVITES!

If he must speak with us, he should do it thru twitter we will be there to listen to him.

Enough is enough!
Relax.

Obi is stronger than all these pettiness..

He would prefer talking to the people.
So, he can endure any kind of subtle shades..
But he must get across to the people.

(Well, if you come for a direct attack on him, then he attacks back... Ask El-Rufai and Melaye)

Simply put, the fraudster wants more tax on non oil GDP

GDP measures the monetary value of final goods and services—that is, those that are bought by the final user—produced in a country in a given period of time (say a quarter or a year)

Nigerian GDP comes from Oil and Gas, Agriculture, Entertainment, small scale business especially trading, Transport especially Okada and Danfo
Are you saying that the way other aspects of the Nigerian Economy are under-taxed and the heavy dependence on OIL should be sustained by the next president?

“Our economy is well diversified. Oil is only about 10% of our GDP.....
“Our problem is that oil is 50% of government revenue and 80% of foreign exchange earnings,
and we are not growing the many different parts of the economy”.

I need someone to explain all these very well to me with clear data-sets.
10% of GDP.
50% of Government Revenue.
80% Forex earnings.

Family › Re: How Can I Reduce The Hatred I Have For My Cousin Brother? by BluntCrazeMan: 9:59am On Nov 07, 2022
Comradepreneur:
So, in 2019, my dad decided to take him in.

One night, I woke up from sleep and decided to go to the kitchen and get drinking water (my room is just outside the sitting room, and you'll have to pass the sitting room before reaching the kitchen).

I observed that my cousin wasn't on the bed when I woke up. I decided to take a peek into my sister's room and there he was standing, jerking off to my sister's face! She was barely 15!

The lights was on, and his grandmother (my dad's mom) who came visiting was also on the bed together with my sisters! Such audacity!

I couldn't even believe what I saw, and tiptoed back into my room and woke up my maternal uncle who was staying with us in order to be my witness.

After witnessing the act, the only response he gave me was [b]Why is she (my sister) feigning to sleep, while he was touching her and jerking off to her face[b].

I was shocked and couldn't even believe his utterance. Like bro! You was supposed to help me bounce on the stupid slowpoke harassing my sister, (your niece).

He just said that and left. With the little energy left with me, I opened the door, dragged my cousin brother out and warned him never to try such act again (I initially wanted to teach him a lesson he ought to never forget in his lifetime, but I was hugely disappointed with what my uncle did).

Even though I still reported him to my parents, there wasn't any punishment meted out to him.

After that incident, I completely lost the respect I had for my uncle. Agreed he had some issues with my mom (her elder sister) back then, but why extend the hatred to her children?.

After that incident, I still occasionally catch my cousin brother in the night in the sitting room, claiming to iron out his clothes. But I still maintain my anger since it's not as if I caught him going into my sister's room.

What broke the camels back, was an incident which happened last 3 weeks ago.

One of my younger sisters (she's 13) reported to my dad in the middle of the night that he caught my cousin brother in her room, jerking off at her face while trying to remove her underwear.

All my dad did was to woke me up from sleep (saying that he wants me to be the witness), and he was preaching to the boy on how his mom, is his younger sister and that he should talk if marriage should be done for him since he can't hold his sexual desires (like man, you was supposed to call me and we smack the shit out of him together!!!).

I got angry and just left them there.

The next morning, I told my mom about the incident, and she told me that my baby sister (an 8 year old) do complain to her sometimes about sharp pains in her private part.

And this happens whenever, my cousin brother is sent to take her to the room whenever she's asleep on the sitting room couch. And also, how one of my sisters told her that he once caught him trying to lift up her skirt while she was fast asleep on the couch in the middle of the night.

Right now, I'm Justin mad at myself and angry at the same time! I feel like a loser, a pussy who can't even protect his sisters.

The bastard is still living with us, in my room, and every day, my hatred for him grows stronger.

Even when my mom told his mom, her only reply was that he's still a kid, and she should forgive him. Someone who's 17!!!! For goodness sake!.

She didn't even called him out to kneel down in front of my mom and rebuke him. Nothing was done!!!! She didn't even spoke to him about the incident.

And whenever my mom makes her displeasure known to my dad, he always says that she hates his family, bla bla bla.

How can I reduce my hatred for my cousin? Or is my hatred justified?

Right now, he has been restricted into coming into the sitting room, anything past 8pm.

But still, I'm still sure things might just go back to being the same!.

My fear right now is, I'll be going for my youth service in a few months time, which means this bastard will be with my sisters unsecured!!!!
The whole of your family is in a big mess.

Like,, why condone such nonsense?
Why treating him with such a soft-glove?
Even if he is a direct son in the family, why would you all be so soft on him?
