Nairaland GeneralAn Open Letter Later To MTN By An Upset Customer by Bnladan(op): 3:30pm On Sep 09, 2015
LETTER TO MTN
Dear MTN,
I will not go and re-register my line. You can
fool everyone if you like, you might have fooled
me before, but you would never fool me again.
The only reason you continue to pull the
wool over our gullible eyes is because the
consumer rights’ protection agencies are either
in the vegetative state, or completely dead.
How can you explain a situation where you would
tell your millions of teeming subscribers to
register their SIM cards and provide the
necessary bio-data, only for you to wake up one
morning to tell us to go and register our lines
again WITH ABSOLUTELY NO EXPLANATION? It
beats my imagination and it defies not just
logic, but also philosophy. Were you drunk when
you were registering our numbers? Did a
malicious virus wipe your entire database?
Maybe I’m giving you too much credit sef. You
probably wrote the records in books like an
ancient bookkeeper and a giant yellow rat ate
them all. Whatever your reasons (or lack of
reasons) may be, this is beyond ridiculous.
I have always maintained an MTN line because
apart from being my very first line, most of my
close associates also use MTN. To some extent,
the coverage is also extensive. I didn’t hesitate
when the directive came from NCC to register our
lines. I braved the queue, registered my line
and collected my security number. Didn’t I try
enough?
Looking back, I can deduce that my attachment
to MTN was more sentimental than practical, as
your tariffs are the highest for calls and for
browsing. You send an average of 100 spam texts
per day, enough to run down a Blackberry
battery and more than enough to give a Corper waiting for NYSC's alert acute hypertension. Your
nuisance value knows no bounds.
Even Airtel that has been passed round
different investors more times than a devil’s
mail bag has not come up with this kind of
Grade A foolishness. What the heck is wrong with
you? Don’t your customers mean anything to
you? Doesn’t it bother you that Nigerians who
wasted their time to register their SIM cards
have to do the same thing again? You haven’t
even deemed it fit to fine-tune the process. It
doesn’t make sense to preserve bad experiences
like these, in very much the same way that one
relic of history is preserving mud huts, and
stating them on an assets’ declaration form.
My records are not on your database, but you
remember my number when you want to tell me
to text ‘YES’ to win a missing plot of land in
Port-Harcourt, right? I really don’t blame you. If
Nigerians had run your devious, xenophobic,
exploitative, heartless, opportunistic, fraudulent
ass back to South Africa, you wouldn’t be here
making them queue desperately like migrants.
What’s to say that there wouldn’t be another
sham registration in the next couple of months
since you guys obviously don’t know what you are
doing? You blocked my line, you have helped
me. Prior to your ridiculous directive, I had
already banished your yeye SIM card to a barely
functional phone. I have even borrowed the
maximum permissible amount. Go ahead, feel
free. It sure feels great knowing
that when I eventually toss the phone into the
trash-can, I won’t have to take out the SIM.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
You deserve to be sued for every fraudulent
penny you’ve ever made on our shores. Thanks to
other service providers for making sure that
your evil dream of becoming a monopoly will
forever remain a demented hallucination. There
are so many fishes in the ocean. I will not
tolerate your recklessness any longer. Peace at
last....
This letter speaks my mind.

FamilyMeet The Twin Sisters Who Are Married To One Husband: by Bnladan(op): 12:08pm On Aug 16, 2015
Wonders, they say, shall never end. It’s true. Unlike the identical twins in a previous story where one stabbed the other after they fell in love with the same man and only one of them got him, the twin sisters in this story have agreed and decided to share the same man in love without any fight.

The twin sisters from South Africa have actually gone ahead to marry him after he acceded to their requests, and with polygamy being accepted in their country, the marriage took place in a big way.

According to The Drum Magazine, for identical twins Owami and Olwethu Mzazi, it was their life-long dream to marry the same man. They stated that during their childhood days, they shared everything, washed the dishes, played, and went to school together. They even bathed side by side.

One of the twins, Owami, told the magazine:
“We have always done everything together…that is how our grandmother raised us. So when we decided to marry, we said any man that wants to marry one, will marry the other.”

1. We are not making ourselves beautiful so that strangers will admire it.

2. We make our hair for ourselves, because we like it. It's about how we feel

3. It doesn't have to make sense to you.

4. We have friends and family who see it and admire it. And those are the people who count.

IslamDon’t Listen To Music by Bnladan(op): 6:14am On Jul 31, 2015
Why did you say that?
Because music is HARAM!!!
Did you say Haram? Is it not a Makrooh?
No! Music falls under the category of haram.
Ok, fine.. What’s your proof?
In Surah Luqman Verse 6, Allah says:
" Among men are those who purchase idle talks to
mislead men from the path of Allah ".
The word lahwal hadith according to Ibn Mas`ood,
the four Khalifas, the eminent Sahabaah, the
Tabi`een, the four Imaams and other reliable Islamic
scholars and authorities have agreed that it is
referred to as al-ghina or music.
In Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol 7, the book of drinks
no 5590 reported by Abu Malik Al-Ashari that…
`There will be people of my Ummah who will seek to
make lawful; fornication, wine-drinking and the use
of ma`aazif (musical instruments ).`
Seeking to make lawful means they are all unlawful.
So from the verse and the hadith, the four imams
unanimously agreed that music is haram.
But what is Haram about Music?
1) Singing and listening to music is haram
The Prophet said:
Istimahul malahi maa asiyatun – to listen is a major
crime
Waljulusu alayha fisqun – to sit in a gathering of
music is an open violation to Allah
Wataladhuzu biya kufrun – to derive pleasure out of
music is kafur
The Prophet blocked his ears while he was walking
and heard music playing.
2) Purchasing of male and female singers is haram
Ayesha RA narrates that the Prophet (S) said that
Almighty Allah has made unlawful the trade in
singing slave maids, their training and listening to
their songs.
3) Purchase of instruments for fun and amusement.
Akramah RA said the Prophet (S) said that;
“Almighty Allah has raised me to destroy flute and
the drum.”
But Music has benefits?
Yes it does, just as some says that there is benefit
in the drinking of alcohol so also is music. Some
says music is food for the soul without which
existence is impossible.
Music makes them feel loved, forget about their
problems, relaxes their mind, feel high etc.
But have you ever thought about the negative impact
of music?
THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF MUSIC
1. Music takes you away from the remembrance of
Allah because Music and Qur’an can’t sit in the
heart at the same time.
2. A waste of precious time: Research proved that an
average youth spend at least five hours a day
listening to music:
3. It is an audio pornography that makes you lose you
moral senses – use of vulgar, shameless and violent
words.
4. Music leads to zina: as it arouses the sexual
desires. The Holy Prophet (S) said," Singing is a
ladder to Adultery."
5. Music is a degradation to the status of women
Islam: Just look at the video clips.
6. Leads to hypocrisy and deprives you from the
Rahmah of Allah - Ibn Qayyin Al Jawziyya says that
music in one’s heart makes one move away from
Allah’s Rahmah. Imam Ja’far As-Sadiq (a.s.) said:
"Music is the nest of hypocrisy."
7. Takes away the imam like the fire takes away
the bush in the harmattan season.
8. Music is the primary cause for calamities in the
dunia: jinn attacks, earth quakes etc. Prophet said
that when my Ummah will take fifteen habits,
calamities will befall them and among them is
music listening.
Sahl Bin Saad narrates that Holy Prophet (S) said,
"Submersion below the surface of the earth, raining
of stones from the sky and mutilation of figures shall
come about in my ummat." The companions asked,
"O the Prophet of Allah when shall it happen?" The
Prophet (S) there upon said:" When
musical instruments shall be in abundance and there
shall be a large number of singing girls and shall be
unlawful."
Ali RA said,"And music and songs give rise to
hypocrisy and is one of the ways leading towards
poverty and hunger.
9. It creates a temporal illusion of madness and
sometimes permanent madness because of the
tension in the brain. It is an intoxicant and one is
unaware of his immediate environment.
10. It create nervous breakdown and even stomach
ulcers discovered in France in 1957
11. It has led to lots of violence and deaths: The
daily ‘Kayhan’ (Tehran), No 6626, published a news of
the Reuter Agency: About 50,000 youths had gathered
in Melbourne (Australia) for a musical concert. The
concert overwhelmed them so much that they started
assaulting each other with fists and knives. Many
were seriously injured; some
girls were molested.
12. Leads to Deafness: Experts says that prolonged
exposure to a noise level above 85 decibels will
eventually result in a reduction of hearing acuity in
the frequency range most important for
understanding the human speech. Dr. Charles Lebo,
of the Pacific Medical Centre took measuring
instruments into two San Francis co dance halls
where the cacophony from amplified instruments
caused sound intensity from 100 to 119 decibels in
the low frequency range.
13. Will be deprived of listening to the beautiful voice
of Allah - Prophet (S) said," Molten lead will be put in
the ears of that person who listens attentively to
music and songs”.
14. Music has no barakah and it will never increase
your Islamic knowledge… all the songs in the world
couldn’t be compared to Alif, Laam, Meem in
barakah would not be equivalent to them.
CONCLUSION
I conclude by reminding you about our main purpose
on this Earth...Allah created us only to worship Him
alone and to worship Allah is to obey Him and
abstain from what He forbids..
We all know music is difficult to leave but we just
have to make the sacrifice in order to please our
Creator and Allah says: perhaps you may like
something but in reality it is bad for you..
verily the ear, and the eye and the heart, all
of them will be asked. The ear and what it listened to,
the eye and what it looked at and the heart and what
it intended."
So If you claimed to be a muslim, then u need to
obey Allah by stop listening to music, it might be
hard at first but with time you will get over it..just pls
be sinere with your repentance make a convent with
Allah not to do it again. How bad would have been
our position if we die with this habit.
Prophet says Allah will call those who forgo music for
His sake and give them Hur’ains to entertain them.
Respected brothers let's use this medium to end the
fitnah of music in our lives, let's Repent before Allah
and ask His forgiveness. May He forgive us, have
mercy on us and accept our repentance..Ameen

emusmith:
Hello Friends,

With so many threads created here; some "Front Page Worthy" and others "NOT Front Page Worthy", we would love to really have a more organized and impactful section that will make Front Page more often than it has been.

For example:

TOPIC: Sex Destroyed Me; Took Away My Luck. I Need Help

LINK: https://www.nairaland.com/2248983/sex-destroyed-me-took-away

After taking this step, don't bother reminding myself and other moderators/supermods to move it to Front page because if it is Front Page Worthy, it will surely make Frontpage in the Appropriate Time.

Consider this thread a clarion call to sanitizing the Religious Section. In the bid to doing so, the following information needs to be well understood:

1. Do not discriminate any belief you know little or nothing about. If you must contribute, do that with courtesy, respect and maturity.

2. Religion lay emphasis on a Higher Being, be it Christianity, Islam, Buddhaism etc and I believe they all promote good living, kindness, love and respect. Through your help, we'll ensure(the best way we can) all these virtues are being restored to this section.

3. Before creating or quoting any thread, remember the rules of Nairaland. They will be enforced on anyone who breaks them

NB: Only Religious Threads Are Allowed Here!

Questions and Complaints will also be taken.

Thank You.
Prohibition of Arrogance and Oppression

`Iyad bin Himar (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (sal-Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam ) said, "Verily, Allah has revealed to me that you should adopt humility. So that no one may wrong another and no one may be disdainful and haughty towards another."[Muslim].

Commentary:
Anyone whom Allah has granted wealth or authority, beauty or splendour, should take it as Allah's Gift. He should take to adopt humility and humbleness and express his gratitude for it to Allah. He should benefit people with the gifts bestowed upon him by Allah and not make them a means of pride and oppression.

IslamSecuring Rewards In Marriage by Bnladan(op): 5:30am On Jul 31, 2015
The sawaab (reward) for the sabr (patience) a woman exercises over her difficulties in managing the home of her husband and fulfilling the rights of her husband and children sometimes is such, which makes her ‘reach’ Allah Ta’ala very quickly.

This, however, is conditional to her obedience to Allah Ta’ala; fulfilling His Rights, the Rights of His Rasul (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi waSallam), as well as the Rights of His Creation.

The sawaab for the sabr (patience) a man exercises over his wife’s shortcomings, emotional outbursts or mood swings is a medium by which he too acquires great rewards and reaches Allah Ta’ala very, very quickly.

Many Auliyaa Allah reached great spiritual heights, and were accepted for tremendous service to Deen on the patience they adopted with their wives, and on the love, care, affection, tenderness and generosity they also extended to their wives.

Rasulullah (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi waSallam) set the perfect example for husbands. Despite the tremendous responsibilities that he was entrusted with, he gave due attention and time to his wives and treated them with love and generosity. He was never harsh or insensitive towards any single wife.

Rasulullah (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi waSallam) also said: “The best amongst the Believers is he is whose character is the best. And the best among you is the one who is best towards his wife.”
IslamMusic In Islam by Bnladan(op): 5:02am On Jul 31, 2015
THREE IMPORTANT AHADITH ON MUSIC:

1) Hadhrat Naafi' (radhiyallahu anhu) narrates:
"Once when Abdullah Bin Umar (radhiyallahu anhu) heard the sound of a shepherd's flute, he placed his fingers in both ears (to block the sound of the music), and he diverted his mount from that path. (As they rode on), he would say: 'O Naafi', can you still hear (the sound)?' I would say: 'Yes.' He would then continue riding. Only
when I said: 'I can no longer hear it', did he remove his fingers from
his ears. Then he returned to the road. He then said: 'I saw Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) doing like this when he had heard the flute of a shepherd."
(Ahmad and Abu Dawood)

2) Ali Bin Abi Taalib (radhiyallahu anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said:
"When my Ummah indulges in fifteen misdeeds, calamities will settle on them. Among these are singing girls and musical instruments." (Tirmizi)

3) Hadhrat Ibn Mas'ud (radhiyallahu anhu) narrated that Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: "Verily, singing generates hypocrisy in the heart just as water causes farm-produce to grow".
(Baihqi)

According to all the great scholars, these and all the hadiths in this regard prove very clearly the prohibition of music, musical instruments, singing and dancing.

May Allah guide us and protect us from it. Ameen.

I GOT 13 VALID REASONS WHY AND HOW MUSLIMS
ARE LIKE JESUS (PBUH) AND TRUER FOLLOWERS OF
JESUS THAN MOST CHRISTIANS BELIEVE:
1. Jesus (pbuh) taught that there is only One God and
Only God should be worshipped as taught in Deut
6:4, Mark 12:29. Muslims also believe this as taught
in the Qur'an verse 4:171.
2. Jesus (pbuh) didn't eat pork as taught in Leviticus
11:7 , and neither do Muslims as taught in the Qur'an
verse 6:145.
3. Jesus (pbuh) greeted with the words "as salaamu
alaikum" (Peace be with you) in John 20:21. Muslims
also greet each other this way.
4. Jesus (pbuh) always said "God Willing" (inshallah),
Muslims say this too before doing anything as taught
in the Qur'an verses 18:23-24.
5. Jesus (pbuh) washed his face, hands, and feet
before praying. The Muslims do the same.
6. Jesus (pbuh) and other prophets of the Bible
prayed with their head to the ground (see
Matthew26:39). Muslims do too as taught in the
Qur'an verse 3:43.
7. Jesus (pbuh) had a beard and wore a throbe. It is
Sunnah for Muslim men to do the same.
8. Jesus (pbuh) followed the law and believed in all
the prophets, (see Matthew 5:17). Muslims do too as
taught in the Qur'an verses 3:84, and 2:285.
9. Jesus' mother Maryam (pbut) dressed modestly by
fully covering her body and wearing a headscarf
(hijab) as found in 1 Timothy 2:9, Genesis 24:64-65,
and Corinthians 11:6. Muslim women modestly dress
the same as taught in the Qur'an verse 33:59.
10. Jesus (pbuh) and other prophets of the Bible
fasted up to 40 days (see Exodus 34:28, Daniel 10:2-6.
1Kings 19:8, and Matthew 4:1-Muslims do so also
during the month of Ramadan. Muslims are required
to fast the full obligatory 30 days (see Qur'an 2:183),
and others take it a step further by fasting an
additional 6 days to increase their rewards.
11. Jesus (pbuh) taught to say "Peace to this house"
when entering it (see Luke 10:5), and to also greet the
people in the house with "peace be unto you".
Muslims do exactly what Jesus did and taught. When
we enter our homes and the homes of others we say
"Bismillah" and also greet with "as salaamu
alaikum" (peace be upon you) as taught in the Qur'an
verse 24:61.
12. Jesus (pbuh) was circumcised. Circumcision is 1
of the 5 fitrah in Islam, so Muslim men are required
to be circumcised. According to the Bible in Luke
2:21, Jesus was eight days old when he was
circumcised. In the Torah, Allah/God stated to the
Prophet Abraham (pbuh) that it is an "Everlasting
covenant" (see Genesis 17:13). In the Qur'an verse
16:123 Muslims are required to follow the religion of
Abraham. The Prophet Muhammad (saws) said, "The
Prophet Abraham circumcised himself when he was
eighty years old." (see Sahih hadith Bukhari, Muslim,
and Ahmad).
13. Jesus (pbuh) spoke aramaic and called God"Elah",
which is pronounced the same as "Allah". Aramaic is
an ancient, Biblical language. It is one of the Semitic
languages that also include Hebrew, Arabic, Ethiopic
and the ancient Assyrian and Babylonian language of
Akkadian.
The Aramaic"Elah" and the Arabic "Allah" are the
same. The Aramaic "Elah" is derived from the Arabic
"Allah", and it means "GOD". "Allah" in Arabic also
means"GOD", the Supreme GOD Almighty. You can
easilysee the similarity in their pronunciation so this
concludes that the God of Jesus is also the God of the
Muslims, of all mankind, and all that exist.
Now tell me who is the real follower of jesus ( pbuh)?
Obviously Muslims. Now I believe am a true follower
of Jesus PBUH
