A final year student of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Saddam Ahmad Achida, slumped and died yesterday in his final examination hall. Achida, a 400L student of economics, slumped while writing his morning paper in ETF 3 hall of the university. He was never revived. A course mate said he was critically ill and had been on admission in hospital for over a week. He said Saddam was a sickle cell anaemia patient and was usually brought to write examinations from his sick bed. Yesterday, he insisted on writing his examination in spite of his condition. The course mate described him as hardworking, religious and patient.
