Ibrahim Yahaya addresses Femi Fani- Kayode – one of the most controversial figures on the Nigerian political arena. Mr Yahaya tries to convince the notorious opinion-maker to direct his advanced writing skills to promoting unity instead of instigating hatred and violence among the Nigerian ehnic groups. The earth remained silent whilst my heart lurked and wondered in agony searching for a balm to ease the mental trouble caused by your words. They kept attacking my thoughts as I laid restless, unable to sleep. A mental torture was like to a heavy whip on a bleeding skin. Unworthy application of usefull skills For some unknown reasons I admire your literary skills. Not much can be said about your personality. Fair enough, I learnt to be less fond of you as a person. If I were in your shoes, I would choose to use the ink to address the matters of the state, rather than to belabour a person, a group or an entity, objectively. No grudges, sir, but I strongly disapprove of the people, who do everything to set the country ablaze with unnecessary rhetoric, I seriously do. At the point, where unity is undoubtedly an exigency, you, who have labeled yourself as a good citizen and patriot, strive vigorously to preach the opposite. Haba! Try to sell the assumption that you honestly care about Nigeria for once. The bitterness of defeat I bet with my birth certificate that you would not have set fire of disintegration to Nigeria had your principal won the 2015 poll. You would have been a unity preacher then! You would have used your literary skills to polish the need for the united Nigeria, and sing a lullaby to every soul trying to heal the old wound of the civil war. Is it not time to wake up from the illusions and vile attempts to split the nation, and embrace the fact that the election was lost? I may be an ordinary citizen, but I am proud of my country. The little time spent visiting the egregious past can be diverted into the brainstorming sessions to move Nigeria forward. Biafra issue It is of no relevance to make unnecessary calls and paint someone a hero rather than an enemy of peace. Truth be told, nobody contributed to the travails of our Igbo brothers; they did it themselves. They have been neglected to some extent in the past because the wound was still fresh, and we had very bad government. A new administration came to spread the breathe of succour to the masses across the country, and reduce the divide existing as a result of the war. Our Igbo brothers should join us to make it a reality unless these attempts fall into oblivion. I believe you should echo the same advice. I find it difficult to come to terms with your mind- blowing assertions, when you talk about Biafra, sir. No disrespect, but I feel you can do much better by preaching restraint, not the opposite. We both know the potent force the media hold, hence the need for caution in our articles. Innocent lives with little or no knowledge about the civil war might get inspired by your well-cooked jaundice-spiced narratives aimed at reducing the country to shreds. The real freedom is in restraint Yes, freedom of expression and speech is relevant. However, there is no such thing as absolute freedom. You must always be cautious about how, when and what you say. You should shy away from blowing the whistle of unrest, spicing the flames of tension and harassing the thin fabrics of unity. It is to our detriment if Nigeria falls for the seductive drum of war. All parties should unite to return Nigeria to her status of the African Giant. This is not the time for irrelevant discussions. It is now very obvious that our reason for expelling the former principal was the misconception that the man was bad. Verily, the man was good; he only wined and dined with the bad company. If the ideas expressed in your articles are a reflection of the pieces of advice you gave the former president, I know exactly who stands behind his fall. However, I do not think you do. Stop the dangerous propaganda! Sir, you must not rape the unity of Nigeria via your well-apprehended tantrums. You must not beat the drum of unrest simply because of the ill feelings you have towards the incumbent administration. You must not cause trepidation in the hearts of many Nigerians by recalling the unpleasant memories of the civil war. Sir, you must learn to use your skills to quell any threat to the unity of our poor nation. We have endured bad governance for too long. Please, do not heap more misery to the poor Nigerians because we are destined to bear the brunt of any disaster, especially war. You and your likes are having a honeymoon outside the country while the innocent poor you have misled suffer in agony. You should be wary of the calls you make because you would go down in history as the one who refused to allow the sleeping dog lie. That is something I think you would not like. Sir, the quest of making Nigeria a great place to live is not a one man’s job. This onerous task requires collective effort. They say: united we stand, and divided we fall. I therefore admonish you to weigh the consequences of your words before they are made public. The unity of Nigeria is sacrosanct! Ibrahim Yahaya writes from Suleja, Niger state. |
It should be scrapped ofcourse coz d aim has been defeated. Its no more a programme that promotes unity but rather a chance for Nigerian graduates to enjoy themselves and promote moral decadence. Many young graduates God-fearing lives have turned to devilish and fornicative. I'm sorry if u find dis harsh, but that's the fact. |
Which God is d secretary refering 2 wen she was praying? Spartacus? Jessica will dine in hell tonight. Now u can give d devil Mouth Gig |

I paid for our bike N200 and I was left with N300. When we got there before I could order for malt for her, she ordered for 3 bottles of big stout 1500 and 2 plate of pepper soup that is N1000 and asked me to go outside and buy her recharged card ofN1500. Now I am outside. What do you think I should do? Please I need ur advice now!! |

Its not a suprise wen ppl attack SLS and northerners because of dis. Frm d tweets, it can be concluded dat d fools are not jst sad because his eminence SLS married an 18yr old bt also because of dia hate for north and northerners. If d idiots dnt knw d age @ which one is regarded 2 be an adult, dey shud luk @ dia 18yr old sisters nd daughters. Is marrying an 18yr old a crime or raping a 9yr old? Hw many under 20s are having sugar daddys dat are above 60 or 70yrs? At wat age did dia mothers got married 2 dia fathers? Is it a crime 2 get married 2 an 18yr old in d so called civilised nations? Lastly and most important, @ is dia any scripture dat forbids marryn an 18yr old? |

Bright2:I think every nation, race, tribe or people fight for a course or another. And until dey acheive dat course, it is regarded a victory. Any fight or war dat ended with surrendering or yielding is called COWARDNESS. I think dats exactly wat d so called biafran ppl did. Accept it dat u can neva become a Nation because of ur cowardness. |
ebengems:Oh dear! D history remember her as a heroin and warrior, not lyk ur coward grandfather Ojukwu. Everybody knws dats his legacy "cowardness". This still runs in d blood of ur ppl. |
Bonapart:Wateva ur ethnicity or claimed nationality, all u can do is talk. D same tin ur ancestors were doing since 14 A.D. Cowards u are. Good in shouting but worse in acting. Try any nonsense and we'll see d end of ur race, Natural criminals. |

This are d kinda ppl dat spend 10yrs in d University and manage 2 graduate with a pass degree after senate's amnesty 2 allow d dead brains pass. This picture clearly say a lot bout dem. Its madness of d 1st order and I'm quite sure dis is not wat dia responsible lecturers taught dem. Admissions shud not jst be given based on Jamb and post-jamb scores, mental and psychological report of prospective students shud be obtained. |

kingreign:My broda tell him pls. And wat baffles me most is dat it is his ppl dat hv d highest number of criminals inside nd outside of dis country. Dey are d ritualists, drug kingpins, kidnappers, traffickers and abusers. |
cytellProperty:Another tribal fool. May God deliver u. |
menix:Yeah, because its unusual to hear ppl with dis kinda names do such. We are more used 2 hearing Chibueze, Ebuka, Jonathan and co doing even worse. |
richidinho:Thank God its jst mere bridge rails he was caught stealing. Many of ur ppl wia caught while in d act of robbery, many with drugs, many caught with human parts. Many of dem are kidnappers. Arewas, malo, aboki, northerner or any oda name u feel lyk calln us, we are proud of ourselves. D extent of poverty u are imagining facing us didn't make us get involved dis gravely offences. I believe every region of dis country depend on the others. My region provide d nation with food. |
McCarlito:that's d problem with u dumb-ass, all d "hellish" and wicked crimes ur ppl do u dnt c, it is dis cheap crime u re making fun of.
