The greedy Fashola who wants to be adored as a super minister has failed woefully here. All he achieved in the power ministry is to engineer an increase in electricity bill without any corresponding increase in output and without the populace getting the electricity meters to verify any charges. In a developed country he should have resigned or sacked if he fails to. I dont understand how you can increase electrity bills astronomically in the midst of blackout and dismal perfomance of the electricity companies. May God help us. |
thesicilian:The man Fashola is a greedy man. Just because he wants to be super relevant and outshine other ministers including his God Father Tinubu he persuded Buhari to assign to only him 3 important ministries. Yet he cant handle them. The 1st thing Fashola said about our delapidated federal roads is that the Government will build many toll gates, this is even without 1st talking of improving the high ways and constructing new ones. The 1st thing he did in the power sector was to engineer an increase in electricity bills, this is without even 1st increasing output or telling the electricity companies to mass produce and distribute electricity meters. He has now bitten more than he can chew and all his ministries are collapsing on him in a matter of months. Maybe he thought he could import the rubbish fraud he and Tinubu did in the Lekki toll gate into the whole country. Its time for the Power Ministry to be stripped from him and given to competent and public spirited professional. |
Infact its the family of the late driver that should be consoled for the loss of their son. He died serving a Minister and we all know these Government Officials will get all the official compensations and sympathy while the family of the late poor driver will only get insults from this cruel dundee relative of the Minister. What an irony. Car accidents kills hundreds of Nigerians every week, kills thousands all over the world every week, even in develpoed countries. Lets keep politics aside and bury the dead peacefully. |
banki:How about the several Nigerians they employed that will now be in the Labour market and the tax they pay. Because as a foreign company they pay more tax than the local ones. Its just like you saying Julius Berger and Shell can pull out of Nigeria because we have local companies that do same thing with them. Why is the Government now running after foreign investors. We should have shut our borders like North Korea and live in isolation and poverty. |
Its only now that the souls of the dead applicants can finally Rest In Peace. Amen. |
KC is a family man. Married with kids. Married several years ago. Remove him from the list. |
Are there no christians in the North? they are fully qualified to be CAN president. Afterall Bishop Oyedepo is from the North, Kwara state. Is he not also qaulified to be CAN president? why are some southern eedeeots bringing disunity in christiandom, why? |
Ecoterrorism:And why should Mark allow a killer like Abba Moro be his campaign director if that's the case. Birds of a feather they say flock together. Mrs Mark should also get ready for her case in court as rumours have it that it's her company that Abba Moro used to register the job applicants and collect the money. |
brodalikeme:Point of Correction, its wasnt MTN that made the call log available to Sahara Reporters but it was EFCC. MTN gave the records to EFCC as demanded, EFCC then tendered it to the Court as evidience and Sahara Reporters obtained the court papers filed by EFCC and published it. |
The man never wanted the marriage to work in the first instance. If he did, tell me which Man of God will leave his family to reside in London while he stays put in Lagos surrounded by strange women who were masquarading as "Church Workers". This went on for several years as i learnt. What kind of Gods' work will make a family seperate for decades in the midst of temptations. They both got what they wanted and they both are an embarrassment to what they preach... so let the case close. |
Am sure even if a Ghost comes out from that Cemetary at that time the Ghost will run back to the grave, cos Denrele looks worse than a Ghost |

charix:In these countries when you serve a portio of your sentence and you are of good behaviour while in prison you can be released on parole to complete the rest. However when you are out on parole you must equally be of good behaviour or else you will sent back to jail to complete the rest of your sentence. Also you must be under the jurisdiction of the Court that sentenced you and a parole officer attached to you. Iam not sure if Ibori will be allowed to travel out of UK as he is only being released on parole and his passport is already seized. However an agreement might be reached where he will be deported to Nigeria to face other criminal prosecutions that may await him |

Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini have been banned for eight years from all football-related activity by FIFA's ethics committee. German judge Hans-Joachim Eckert, the chairman of FIFA's adjudicatory chamber, held disciplinary hearings for the pair last week and announced the sanctions on Monday morning. A FIFA statement read: "The adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee chaired by Mr Hans Joachim Eckert has banned Mr Joseph S. Blatter, President of FIFA, for eight years and Mr Michel Platini, Vice-President and member of the Executive Committee of FIFA and President of UEFA, for eight years from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) on a national and international level. The bans come into force immediately. "The proceedings against Mr Blatter primarily related to a payment of CHF 2,000,000 transferred in February 2011 from FIFA to Mr Platini. Mr Blatter, in his position as President of FIFA, authorised the payment to Mr Platini which had no legal basis in the written agreement signed between both officials on 25 August 1999. Neither in his written statement nor in his personal hearing was Mr Blatter able to demonstrate another legal basis for this payment. His assertion of an oral agreement was determined as not convincing and was rejected by the chamber. "The evidence available to the adjudicatory chamber in the present case was not sufficient to establish, to the extent required, that Mr Blatter sought the execution or omission of an official act from Mr Platini within the meaning of article 21 paragraph 1 of the FIFA Code of Ethics (FCE) (Bribery and corruption). However, the conduct of Mr Blatter towards Mr Platini without a legal basis constituted a breach of article 20 paragraph 1 of the FCE (Offering and accepting gifts and other benefits). Furthermore, Mr Blatter found himself in a situation of conflict of interest, despite which he continued to perform his related duties, failing to disclose said situation and the existence of personal interests linked to his prospective activities, thus violating article 19 paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of the FCE (Conflicts of interest). "By failing to place FIFA's interests first and abstain from doing anything which could be contrary to FIFA's interests, Mr Blatter violated his fiduciary duty to FIFA and breached article 15 of the FCE (Loyalty). Mr Blatter's actions did not show commitment to an ethical attitude, failing to respect all applicable laws and regulations as well as FIFA's regulatory framework to the extent applicable to him and demonstrating an abusive execution of his position as President of FIFA, hence violating article 13 of the FCE (General rules of conduct). "In consequence, Mr Blatter has been banned for eight years from all football related activities and fined CHF 50,000. "The investigation into the case of Mr Blatter was conducted by Mr Robert Torres, member of the investigatory chamber of the Ethics Committee. The investigation resulted in a final report which was submitted to the adjudicatory chamber on 20 November 2015. The adjudicatory chamber opened formal proceedings on 23 November 2015, and the hearing of Mr Blatter took place in Zurich on 17 December 2015. "The proceedings against Mr Platini primarily related to a payment of CHF 2,000,000 that he received in February 2011 from FIFA. The payment to Mr Platini had no legal basis in the written agreement signed between both officials on 25 August 1999. Mr Platini's assertion of an oral agreement was determined as not convincing and was rejected by the chamber. FIFA presidential candidate Gianni Infantino has identified his three-point plan should he take over from Sepp Blatter in February's election. "The evidence available to the adjudicatory chamber in the present case was not sufficient to establish, to the extent required, that Mr Platini obtained the payment for the execution or omission of an official act within the meaning of article 21 paragraph 1 of the FCE (Bribery and corruption). Nevertheless, the conduct of Mr Platini without a legal basis constituted a breach of article 20 paragraph 1 of the FCE (Offering and accepting gifts and other benefits). Furthermore, Mr Platini found himself in a situation of conflict of interest, despite which he continued to perform his related duties, failing to disclose said situation and the existence of personal interests linked to his prospective activities in violation of article 19 paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of the FCE (Conflicts of interest). "By failing to place FIFA's interests first and abstain from doing anything which could be contrary to FIFA's interests, Mr Platini also violated his fiduciary duty to FIFA and breached article 15 of the FCE (Loyalty). In addition, Mr Platini failed to act with complete credibility and integrity, showing unawareness of the importance of his duties and concomitant obligations and responsibilities. His actions did not show commitment to an ethical attitude, failing to respect all applicable laws and regulations as well as FIFA's regulatory framework to the extent applicable to him and demonstrating an abusive execution of his position as Vice-President of FIFA and member of the FIFA Executive Committee, hence violating article 13 of the FCE (General rules of conduct). Riyad Mahrez. "In consequence, Mr Platini has been banned for eight years from all football related activities and fined CHF 80,000. "The investigation into the case of Mr Platini was conducted by Ms Vanessa Allard, member of the investigatory chamber of the Ethics Committee. The investigation resulted in a final report which was submitted to the adjudicatory chamber on 20 November 2015. The adjudicatory chamber opened formal proceedings on 23 November 2015, and the hearing took place in Zurich on 18 December 2015 in the presence of Mr Platini's lawyers." http://www.espnfc.com/blog-fifa/story/2765839/sepp-blatter-and-michel-platini-get-eight-year-fifa-bans |

Money was paid for military hardware which were never delivered. It all boils down to one conclusion, pass the bulk of fund monitoring to the president as he is no economist/accountant which makes it easy to dribbling him with figures. If NOI disburse and monitored the funds according to her constitutional duties then it will be hard for such occurence because she's a seasoned book keeper. No wonder GEJ is confused about figures being brought to him as he has no recollection of such. |
Dasuki asked for it and NOI delivered but asked Dasuki to report to GEJ on how the funds were utilised which is abit funny because its her constitutional obligation to monitor how the fund is spent and not the job of the president. Its like trading place, Madam is president and GEJ is finance minister. On seeing NOI letter to Dasuki about reporting to GEJ instead of her, I now believe OBJ when he said Nigeria have 5 Presidents and GEJ is the most weak. |
c. the NSA’s office was to account for the spending to the President who was the Commander in Chief, given the fact that the Minister of Finance is not part of the security architecture and does not participate in the Security Council So in other words Jonathan and Dasuki should account for the missing money...smart girl! |
How Jonathan, Okonjo-Iweala illegally diverted N61.4 billion Abacha loot to NSA, Sambo Dasuki The immediate past Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, illegally approved the transfer of at least N61.4 billion ($300 million and £5.5 million) from funds recovered from late dictator, Sani Abacha, to the Office of the National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, few weeks to the 2015 presidential election, PREMIUM TIMES can authoritatively report today. The former Minister signed off on the transfer but then closed her eyes to how the funds were spent, requesting then President Goodluck Jonathan to directly demand accountability from Mr. Dasuki, according to documents seen by this newspaper. The funds were never appropriated before they were transferred, a clear violation of Nigeria’s fiscal responsibility law. Mr. Dasuki, alongside the former governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa and founder of DAAR communications, owners of Africa Independent Television and Raypower radio network, Raymond Dokpesi, are being investigated for their roles in the disbursement of $2.1 billion and N643 billion meant for the procurement of arms to fight the raging insurgency in Nigeria’s north east region. The recovered Abacha loot are funds returned to the Nigerian government from monies stolen from the country’s treasury by Mr. Abacha. The late dictator stole an estimated $5 billion from Nigeria and the money is being returned in tranches after agreement with countries such as Switzerland and the United States. So far $700 million has been repatriated from Switzerland. It is not clear whether these funds in question were part of the arms procurement funds for which Mr Dasuki is being investigated. But a letter signed by Mrs Okonjo-Iweala, seen by PREMIUM TIMES, showed that 50 per cent of the recently recovered Abacha loot was allotted for “urgent security need” such as the procurement of arms and ammunition while the other half was set aside to be used for development purposes. The letter, dated January 20, 2015, which was addressed to Mr Jonathan revealed that the money was transferred following a January 12, 2015 request by the office of the NSA under Mr Dasuki for funds for the procurement of arms and ammunition as well as intelligence equipment. “Please find a request by the National Security Adviser (NSA) for the transfer of $300 million and £5.5 million of the recovered Abacha funds to an ONSA [Office of the National Security Adviser] operations account,” the letter read. “The NSA has explained that this is to enable the purchase of ammunition, security, and other intelligence equipment for the security agencies in order to enable them fully confront the ongoing Boko Haram threat. “His request is sequel to the meeting you chaired with the committee on the use of recovered funds where the decision was made that recovered Abacha funds would be split 50-50 between urgent security needs to confront Boko Haram and development need (including a portion for the Future Generations window of the Sovereign Wealth Fund),” Mrs Okojo-Iweala wrote. She added that the letter was to seek Mr Jonathan’s approval for the funds to be disbursed to the ONSA. The former minister further explained that the money being transferred formed part of the Federal Government Independent Revenue. However, instead of insisting on overseeing how the disbursed funds were spent, as the country’s chief financial officer, she abdicated her responsibility, expecting and asked Mr Dasuki to account directly to Mr Jonathan. “This letter is to seek your approval to borrow these funds, for now, to disburse to the NSA. These funds form part of the projected Federal Government Independent Revenue, to be appropriated, in the light and for accountability, given the peculiar nature of security and intelligence transactions, we would expect the NSA to account to Your Excellency for the utilisation of the funds,” she concluded. In a January 30, 2015 letter, Mr. Jonathan approved the transfer. Governor Adams Oshiomhole vindicated This latest disclosure appears to have vindicated Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, who last week called for the prosecution of Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala for transferring funds that were not appropriated. The governor stated that neither the president nor the minister has power to unilaterally transfer funds that were not appropriated by the National Assembly. He therefore argued that Mr. Jonathan and Mrs Okonjo-Iweala should be charged alongside Messrs Dasuki, Dokpesi and Bafawara for allegedly misappropriating funds meant for arms procurement. “The issue is whether the Nigerian President under the constitution has the power to approve funds belonging to local, state and federal government- funds that have not been appropriated by the National Assembly. That is a criminal offense for which Okonjo-Iweala ought to face criminal prosecution. These things are just discussed and wished away. For me, I will stick for the truth and don’t care what people will say,” Mr. Oshiomhole said. “Talking about revelation, look at the letter credited to Dasuki – the immediate past National Security Adviser. In his defence which I read in your paper, he seems to admit that money was spent but it was approved by the President. Does the Nigerian constitution empower the President to spend money which has not been appropriated by the National Assembly? And they took cash from the CBN. The Money Laundering Act says if you take cash in excess of N5 million transaction, it is money laundering and it is criminal. “So, by Dasuki’s letter, he has also confirmed that Okonjo-Iweala is privy to spending money never appropriated and therefore criminal, and that cash were being moved contrary to the money laundering act. Just using Dasuki’s own defence, you can see a case of conspiracy has been established between Dasuki, Okonjo-Iweala and all those involved in that transaction,” Mr. Oshiomhole said. But in a stern statement, where she described Mr Oshiomhole as reckless, Mrs Okonjo-Iweala asked the federal government to call the governor to order. She stated that she had “absolutely nothing to do with” the $2.1 billion arms procurement money. “It is unconscionable for the Governor to embark on a campaign of lies against her because she thwarted his dubious loan request,” she said. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/194870-how-jonathan-okonjo-iweala-illegally-diverted-n61-4-billion-abacha-loot-to-nsa-sambo-dasuki.html |
