We need to stop this hypocrisy. Should the insecurity challenges we face across the country be generalized as a "Christian genocide"? Initially, when President Donald Trump described it as Christian genocide, you accepted his position. Now that he claims to have resolved what he termed a Christian genocide, you are outraged, even though you know the insecurity challenges still persist. |
Without deceiving ourselves, we currently don't have a single political party that can unseat the ruling party at the presidential level. If a coalition will work well, it should have a good foundation. I have been seeing different coalitions that did not see the daylight before scattering. What our politicians are calling coalition is not coalition in real sense. It is adoption of an existing political party by people from different political parties In that case, there will always be internal problems which will not make the coalition to work because the true members of the adopted political party who doesn't have political values will not allow new commers with political weights to subdue there right and interest as the pioneer members of the party. For a coalition party to work well, the people with align political Idea have to pull out from their respective current political party and register a new political party. In this case, each politicians will have equal rights in the newly registered political party and of course no member will feel subdue in the decision making of the coalition party. The decision making ability of the members will depend on political values of individuals in the coalition. Please recall that the current ruling political party; All Progressives Congress (APC) was a coalition formed and registered on July 31, 2013, following a merger of major opposition parties. The merger included the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). All the above members of political parties did not adopt the name of any of the members' formal political party but registered as a fresh political party and as a result, it minimize the internal crisis that could have ruined the party as we are currently experiencing from the so called coalition that we having today. However, unfortunately the window for registration of new political parties has closed. Therefore, I didn't think that we can have any formidable coalition party that can face the current ruling party before the 2027 generate election. |

Akpan107:This was one of the practices of Arab before Islam and at early stage of Islam the practices was not banned. Most of those practices by Arab before Islam were later prohibited when Islam gained ground. More examples of Arab practices before Islam are: Killing of female children, collection of interest on loan, drinking of Alcohol, discrimination among people etc . All these things have been prohibited when Islam gain ground in Arab land. In a specific term, temporary marriage was among the practices that has been prohibited. It is a sin and punishable offence in Islamic countries where Shariah law is being used for governing. The reference of the prohibition of contract marriage is also contained in authentic Hadiths: Saheeh Muslim: 1406 "Oh people, I used to allow you do mut'ah (temporary contract marriage) with women. (Now) Allah has forbidden it till the day of judgement (i.e forever and ever)." |

Eventhough he doesn't have choices other than to accept the court judgement which is final, Atiku was defeated in the court and he was insisting that he doesn't accept the judgement. |
You have already exceeded our expectations negatively. We hope that you will overturn it positively. |
I think this government is making efforts to change things better by initiating some policies. I hope that they get the implementation right. |
Burob:I guess part of the funds is being used to finance the election petitions. Since the case has not been finally concluded, it is rational to wait for the final judgement at the Supreme court which will mark the end to expenditures on the purpose for which the funds was generated. |

PERCEIVED FUEL SUBSIDY REMOVAL In order to prevent or alleviate potential hardship on citizens, the government must take proactive measures among which is suggested below: 1.While the government is yet to declare total removal of subsidy, the government should send the task force across the country to check the activities of those petrol marketers that have started hoarding the petrol product. 2. Before the announcement of total removal of fuel subsidy, the government should make sure that they provide transportation services at a reduced price. The government should procure buses to be operated at a reduced price by the government at all tiers of government. This transportation services should be made available to ply within town, towns to towns and interstates. 3. Before total removal of petrol subsidy, the government should ensure that the rail system that have been revived by the last administration is working at maximum capacity and at a reduced price. 4. Before the government should consider total removal of petrol subsidy, the government should ensure that it make water transport vessels available for the riverine parts of country that uses water means of transportation. 5. The government should also partner with Dangote refinery to make sure that preference is given to local purchase of the petrol product. I hope these suggestions will assist the government to profer solutions to issue of subsidy removal that if not properly handled, it may create bad impression in the minds of citizens. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. |

Time magazine has named Nigeria’s President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinub among the 100 most influential persons across the world in 2023. Time, in naming Mr. Tinubu among the 2023 100 Most Influential People on Thursday, April 13, 2023, said “Winning an election in Africa’s most populous country is no easy feat. But Nigeria’s newly elected President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has had nearly two decades to prepare. “Called Jagaban, or “leader of the warriors,” by his supporters, the now 71-year-old ran in a presidential election for the first time this March. His campaign slogan, “It’s my turn,” was a nod to his role as a longtime political power broker.” Time, further delved into the past how the former Lagos governor fought military regimes to return democracy. “Tinubu helped restore the country’s democracy in 1999 after fighting military rule and then served two consecutive terms as governor of Lagos,” it added. Tinubu was declared on March 1, 2023, declared winner of the February 25 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Tinubu’s victory was conclusive, with 8.79m votes won by the 70-year-old veteran, putting him well ahead of main opposition challenger Atiku Abubakar’s 6.98m. Obi, who won 6.1m votes, surprised many by winning in both Lagos, Nigeria’s biggest city and commercial powerhouse, and the federal capital, Abuja. He will be sworn in as the country’s 16th president on May 29, after the expiration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s two-term maximum tenure. Meanwhile, among the top world figures that made the list is the President of the United States, Joe Biden. Also, both Paris Saint-Germain stars of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe made the list among sportsmen. https://www.intelregion.com/news/nigerias-president-elect-bola-ahmed-tinubu-named-as-one-of-the-100-most-influential-people-in-the-world/ |

In my view, Tinubu has bright chance to win on a straight poll but if it results in run off, there is 90% probability that Atiku will be the next President. |
Naijalarry:Politicians that are shameless. They don't care to do opposite of what they say. If most of our politicians are keeping to what they say, things won't be this bad. |

It depends on your career vision and how quick you want to make money in life. If you want to grow rapidly financially with low self improvement, choosing investment Bank job is likely going to fetch you that faster than Tax Job in one of the big4. If you choose Tax Job in one of the big4, you may grow slowly financially but you will grow rapidly with professional competence which in the long run may land you in a prestige that can translate to secure you a very good job or engagement that will be very good financially. |
