Hiswordxray: What I see is fear and conviction. You feel condemn in your heart and you are intimidated by devoted Christians. The trust is anybody can make heaven if they want, even you. God love you and had made every provision to ensure that you will be with him. He even went as far as giving you is nature so that you can be like him (2Peter 1:4). What Christ has done is enough to help you make heaven. Just allow him work in you and don't allow anything or anybody make you feel condemned. For the Bible says "if your heart condemn you, you should know that God is greater than your heart (1John 3: 20). Do you believe you'll make heaven? |

torchwave: hmmm. Bolaino, I thought you wanted to ADDRESS the issue of the rapture but all I read is your deep seated and baseless anathema for preachers. In fact, it is very safe to say your topic is just a front to air your biased and confused opinion of Christians and, especially, preachers who have no connection or significance with your topic.
Since your speech has no main point, you digress without warning, make unnecessary and incoherent connections just as you did not forget to inject your biased accusations which are highly uncalled for, and end your bitter rant without even caring to make little sense I shall just peg your speech down to a senseless heap of gibberish - that irritating buzz of a fly in the ear....

Greetings to my christian Brothers and Sisters on Nairaland, I would like to tell you about a myth that you have been told about in sunday schools and bible studies, and that is the myth of the supposed "rapture" of christians, in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, it is claimed that christians who have been faithful will be taken up in the clouds at the sound of a trumpet on the last day, and the dead in christ will also be taken up to heaven, and people will be seeing the saints hovering in the skies on their way to heaven to meet with jesus, I know, I know you want people like myself to go to hell and you would want to see sinners being punished, but the truth is the Rapture is a myth, it's absurd, and it's not going to happen, you can keep day dreaming about being in the sky on the last day. But I'm here to assure you that the rapture will not happen. You will not have the satisfaction of having to witness the rapture because it is a myth. Even many christian scholars believe it to be a misinterpretation of the gospel. Your names won't be there when the roll is called up yonder. Christians are very hypocritical, deep down inside of you, you want people to go to hell so that you will go to heaven and be like " look at bolaino and all those freethinkers on nairaland, look at them screaming in hell fire, we were preaching for them then, but they did not believe us, Thank God they are in hell fire and we are in heaven, na e good for them, thank God say we make heaven and dem go hell" that is what you all wish for, but I'm sorry to bust your bubble. Your Rapture won't happen because there is no basis for it, hence it is mythical. Rapture is a myth, the sooner you realized this the better, take a look at your so called men of God, some are buying weapons with their planes, some are burying people's skulls in their alters, some are fornicating and divorcing their wives. They seem not to be concerned about Rapture, because they know it's not going to happen. Keep on waiting for Rapture. |

The late Legendary Afro beat Maestro, Fela, once sang about this in one of his songs, Nigerians, suffering and smiling, just the other day I read on Nairaland where a nairalander was saying Nigeria was better than the west because we had inconsistent power supply and that without corruption we would be unable to cater for our families, That's bull crap, We are suffering in this country because the opposition has not given the ruling party space to perform, we should be honest with ourselves, the opposition party is filled with People of very low moral standing, people who defect from one party to another, and defect back, all to further their selfish political ambitions, take Atiku for example, a former prominent pdp founding member is now vying for the post of president, under The APC platform, I personally wonder, who in his or her right frame of mind would vote for a person like Atiku, our elder states man Baba shege thinks Atiku is very corrupt, I won't disagree with him, given that Atiku served under him, I don't think anyone in his or her right frame of Mind would want to consciously, vote for Atiku? But Like Ajebuter 22 once sang. "You're never winning Atiku". I would vote for Jonathan, I think we should all be truthful to ourselves, Nigeria can be better, we should stop suffering and smiling, we should elect responsible leaders, we should make the right choices, let's vote wisely come 2015, I am not ashamed to support President Goodluck jonathan come 2015. Long Live The Federal Republic Of Nigeria. |

arresa: How exactly are you going to support your military?
By giving them the weapons they need to fight with?
By increasing their salary and welfare benefits?
By making sure you manage their $6 billion funds and support them instead of embezzling their funds?
They need support from their crooked and incompetent government and worthless service chiefs, not from you on NL beyond whatever you post on NL that they don't read..
You military can not go to the battlefield and defeat any enemy with your support post on NL, they need good and credible political leaders with strong, dedicated non corrupt military generals and ultimately adequate and proper military equipment to fight with...
Stop blackmailing yourself and making yourself feel guilty as if it's your responsibility to make your country a great nation and your military a better and capable military, that's what we vote foe and elect people to do. Let Us Support Men and Women our Armed Forces in Their ongoing fight against Terrorism. God bless and protect you all. |

Christianity Etc › Re: The Tithe Fraud. by bolaino(op): 9:09pm On Oct 09, 2014 |
CrazyMan: Lol...you intentionally refuse to quote the scriptures in a biblical discussion...how then do you expect people to learn from your post absent biblical references?
And you that know so much about the scriptures, why do you find it very difficult to quote it to back up your arguments?
Ok then...tell us which biblical evidence when it (tithing) was introduced.
Please don't misquote the scriptures. Abraham wasn't ordered by anyone to pay. Secondly the tithe Abraham gave to melchizedek was a tenth of his what he plundered from the war he fought and not his belongings.
It was more like a thanksgiving offering to God for making him victorious in the war against Chedorlaomer and the kings of Sodom.
Kindly post a bible passage of paul telling the early church to pay tithe as you claim in your post above.
You mean this passage?
Genesis 28:20-22 20 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,
21 So that I come again to my father’s house in peace; then shall the Lord be my God:
22 And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.
Note God never asked Jacob to pay any tithe.
Jacob made a vow to God of his own will and ability.
Just like the passage below. 2 Chorithians 9:7 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
Jacob gave a tenth of his belongings to God not because God requested for it, but because he saw it as a fulfillment of a vow he made personally with God.
The only place where God specifically mandated people to pay tithe was in the cas of the israelites (see my previous post).
Lol...sure thing and Jesus nor his disciples never bothered to mention it even once.
Sure thing indeed.
The spirit has already given me understanding.
Lol it may be clear to outsiders, it certainly isn't clear to you.
I would give you valid biblical proofs to show you that Jesus abolished the law of moses.
John 8:3-6 3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
Let's also see. Matthew 12:10-13 10 ¶And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
Now according to you, if the law wasn't abolished, why then did Jesus prevent the adulterous woman from being stoned?
According to the law she ought to have been stoned, so are you saying that Jesus broke the law by allowing the woman live?
And in the second passage would you accuse Jesus of healing a paralyzed man like the pharisees simply because he broke the law?
In case you don't know Christ abolished the law of moses because it was no longer relevant.
That's why we no longer offer bulls and goats as antonment for our sins, because christ has already paid the price with his blood.
Yes tithing was never a law...I stand by my decision until you provide valid proof (apart from God's command to the children of israel concerning the levities) of Jesus asking us to pay tithe.
Lol when next you quote the bible for references purpose, be honest enough to quote the full context.
That passage if you read from verse 6 was God speaking to the children of israel because they cheated him by not giving the levites their rightful share of his blessings (tithes) hence he (God) made that statement.
I'm not surprised the way by which MOG have turned and twisted it to mean the church of our generation in order to milk gullible members dry.
I would stop when you stop...until then we'll continue to quote each other.
God bless you also. Hmmm, You Try oo. |

publisher: Linda Ikeji was a 'nonentity' blogger like most of us until she got her big break some years ago.
Linda's big break was when she posted a video of a young girl being gang 'molested' somewhere in Abia-and that was it. Linda Ikeji became an instant celebrity overnight, international news media like the BBC mentoned and acknowledged her role in ensuring this particular victim's plight recieved attention. More and more people began taking Linda Ikeji's Blog seriously and with that came money, lots of MONEY.
This was an act of God; Linda Ikeji was given an assignment to help victims of sexual abuse and bring succor to them, that was the essence of her becoming a star through someone else's misery. No one knows if Linda ever reached out to the initial molest victim that made her blog more popular.
When God suddenly gives us unusual easy wealth, there's an assignment attached to it and if we execute the assignment well, God will give us more wealth that our children's children will enjoy.
But when we use God's free wealth to spread gossips, blackmail people and flaunt our possessions, then God may get angry and send an @Aye-dee into your life.
Ok, I'm done- you can all abuse me now and tag me as one of Linda Ikeji's haters. I just spoke my mind! Lwkmd, Nairalanders, Smh, lol |

bolaino: I have the utmost love and respect for the armed forces of Nigeria, our country's military has wowed the world in the past and they have succeeded in helping to curb civil wars in some west African countries. And because of their valiant and gallant services helped restore sanity to west Africa in the late 80s-90s. Our army is growing and I know that in the future our armed forces would be one of the best in the world, I believe if we as a nation could be more supportive of our armed forces, it would boost their morale in fighting boko haram and keeping us safe. Because the truth is the army is keeping us safe, they might not be perfect but they have feelings like us, everyday we hear of military men losing their lives in defence of their motherland. These are wonderful people we are losing also, we should pray for the army that God should give them the wisdom and intelligence to handle this insurgency, Nigeria na our only country, abi una get another home? So please I am urging any Nigerian reading this to always remember the Nigeria's military in their prayers and thoughts because army men and women are our brothers and sisters also. God bless the Armed Forces Of The Federal Republic Of Nigeria. Long Live The Federal Republic Of Nigeria. |

bolaino: My brethren I greet you all in the name of God our creator, whose mercies are evident in our country, Nigeria has come a long way, and in our over 50 years of independence, we have witnessed everything, From war to terrorism, to you name it, and we are still standing. The system is not perfect, yes, the system has it's faults, but let us take solace in the fact that Rome and even the Recent United states, were not built in a day, I believe strongly in this country, and I believe that with Time we would be able to Govern ourselves well, I believe in time we'll be able to produce Honest and God fearing politicians, But my Good people I do not believe that time is here, take a look around you, tell me the kind of politicians you see? The same crop of people, the same set of politicians who have plundered the vast resources of this country to nothing, these are the same politicians showing us their interests in elected offices, why would a politician kneel down to beg people for votes, what does that tell you about the politician's motive? What is PDP what is APC, they are nothing but the same thing, just two sides of the same coin, the leaders of these parties belong to the same secret societies, during the day they are enemies at night they are best of Friends, and it's the gullible Nigerian masses who are being deceived, No politician is worth dying for, no matter how nice or honest he/she might seem. Do not turn acronyms that mean nothing to the people who formed them, into religions, PDP, APC, APGA, are nothing but ideologies, and these ideologies are not worth dying for, because their true purpose is about Conquering and Dividing, Say No to political Hooliganism, Say No to election violence, Live and Let Live, Nigeria is still Young and with time we will have leaders that are worth dying for, But that time has not come, till then, Remain peace loving and God fearing Nigerians, Long Live The Federal Republic Of Nigeria. |
