Evidently it is you that has an extremely shallow understanding of scriptures and the new covenant. Tithing is part of the old jewish laws and it is crystal clear from scriptures that christians are not to obey the jewish laws.

That is apart from the fact that the type of tithes preached and practised today (money from income) is unbiblical and can best be described as a fraud derived from twisting scriptures.

By Damilola Toblan

I could not hold my tears seeing africa's most beautiful campus writhe in Blackout... crying bitterly, I was touched, I ran to her with anxiety and I asked her, "Wondered why we are suffering yet smiling?"

I have never seen a prettier campus, so beautiful despite her age. She looked like a damsel, so beautiful, an epitome of beauty, a pride to other african campuses, the desire of every student, colourful and wonderfully made!

Million questions came to my mind. Why is this beauty campus in Oppression? Why is this black Model crawling now? I asked her majesty gently, "Why?"

I could not hold my tears when she replied me with soft and angelic voice:

"My son, as you can see, I am a campus of 52years old. I am the best, famous campus in Nigeria. I am so blessed, and I have a lot of structures. I have become the envy of every campuses. Even the most societal, strong and powerful African campuses pray to be like me.

"I have given birth to over 5 million princes and princesses who are shakers and movers all of the economy. But what a pity! Many of these princes and princesses scattered all over the world never look back at their "alma Mata" as if I am nobody. Those at home who are supposed to walk majestically round my palace and enjoy all my riches are in fright of the Unknown!

"Where are my pride, honour, dignity, strength, glory and royalty, when most of my children are suffering despite all I have? Other campuses who used to fear me, appreciate my beauty, tremble because of my wisdom, who saw me then as example now mock me! Even those that use to run to me then for help and assistance, they all see me now as nothing, and none of them accord me my respect again! So why won't I cry?" I have been silenced by those I give Chicken wen my greatness was enormous.

Tears were rushing down from my face I feel for this caring campus as she continued her story: "Most painful is that my children don't see each other as siblings again! The foreign and imported ideologies have tore them apart, Unionism made them separate themselves, and politics put a sword between them.

"What a pity! Many of my beautiful damsels have turned to night hawkers and the Guys are not slumbering on Moz 101!

I was so sad, in my sober mood I asked her, "Ma, with all your Glories, why are your children still suffering like this?"

She replied, "Due to selfishness of few, due to some wicked persons amongst them who are in charge of these resources! They wine and dine all day while students are home-less due to hostel palava and languish in darkness! They are getting richer and wealthier daily forgetting that their good deeds will surpass their age on Earth!"

I tried to comfort this beautiful Campus, but the more efforts I offered, the more she cried. What a Campus! The pride of Campushood!

She concluded, "I won't stop crying until my children are happy, until I see the end of their suffering, until I see smiles on their beautiful faces! Until OAU 9 is reinstated! I have liberators, giants, saviours, freedom fighters and the Moses(Ibikunle) who will lead my children back to my golden throne!I believe"

This is a clarion call to all of us! Together we can redeem the fading glory. Together we can build this nation. Lefties and Righties, let's build this campus together! Both good and bad people could be found in every setting. Let's join hands together and build a campus where justice and peace reign!

Long live Great Ife Union!!!
Long Live OAU vigilant!!
Long Live OAU!!!

I agree that it may be so for some peeps but not everyone is like that. Some do it because they want to genuinely support preachers in their ministry.

I see preachers like Oyakhilome, Okotie, TB Joshua, the winners guy etc as very successful businessmen, not preachers but this personal opinion does not mean we don't have preachers who try to be in tune with God's word.

Kumuyi and the dude from Apostolic faith, from a distance, are some I think are trying to build their church in line with the dictates of Sacred scriptures, my personal reservations notwithstanding; I believe genuine preachers should get the necessary support.
I agree with you that there are genuine preachers, and they should be given any form of support, be it financial or otherwise, I have no qualms with that, my issue is with the idea, which is inherent in all pentecostal pastors, about tithing, if we are to be truthful to ourselves we would acknowledge that tithing is not for the New testament christian, voluntary giving was admonished in the scriptures, even giving to help the ministry was also encouraged, but what was never encouraged or even talked about was tithe, because Jesus the christ and his early disciples knew it was not in their place to ask their followers to pay compulsory tax/levy/tithe, they knew if they asked for tithe, the work of Jesus the christ would have been rubbished by that singular gesture, hence they refrained themselves from speaking about tithe.

Get your facts right! I have seen cases where ordinary church members go to ask the pastor for the 'favour' of paying tithe when the pastor never asked or preached it to them. Those are cases I am a witness to. I was not told. It would help if you stop thinking just in one direction.

To the Original Poster: The question I asked still awaits your response.
Good morning my Good sire, I have answered your question, I said, those who give tithes without being asked to, are encouraging the fraud. Their monies would have better use to the orphaned, poor, widowed and destitute.

I have no problem with tithing like it is in my country I pay a churchta what is about 1,1% of my salary from the last year and it will reduce my tax to the goverment and with this money the church pays his pastors and priest. But when your salary is under 10.000 Euro per year than you pay nothing and it is free if you will pay this.

So I can give money to projects from the church like we have at the moment "neightbor in Need" to help the poor people in Syria and Iraq and i know this money will reach them, or I give my money to SOS child village because I can give a child a better future and that is how I leaned it from my parenst, and my father was teacher for religion and he makes music in the church.

I quite agree with you that 95% of church and pastor in Nigeria have compromised and are after wealth and many other things. But the truth still remain that christian ought to pay tithe. Most pastors capitalize on this to make themselves rich doesn't mean true believers shouldn't pay tithe anymore in the real christian church they attend. The pastor of my church don't own a private jet and won't.

There is about only 5% of christians and church in Nigeria that is true. And is mandated of them to pay tithe, irrespective of how their counterpart that have compromised are trying to mock GOD. Let the inhabitats of the earth rejoice and be glad because the LORD liveth and reigneth. Even before the foundations of the world, GOD is never mocked and never will

GOD bless you ma
lol, who told you your pastor doesn't have the intention of owning a jet in the near future.

The concept of God in religion is actually the biggest fraud.
I believe in God, but I do not believe in Religion. And if I may ask, why don't you believe in God? What's your reason for not believing in God?
Christianity EtcThe Tithe Fraud. by bolaino(op): 9:41am On Oct 05, 2014
I'll begin with this, Religion is a system of beliefs used to comfort man and mankind in their various states of ignorance. Having said that, In the christian religion there is this fraud/scam that is being peddled by all pentecostal pastors, and it's the Fraud/scam of tithe. Tithing is fraudulent, the Hungry pastors use this to defraud gullible and ignorant church members into surrendering ten percent of their hard earned money. This tithe is used by the same pastors to build schools, buy planes, build luxury apartments, buy rolls royces and other frivolities,

Tithing is fraudulent because, Christians are supposed to be followers of Jesus The Christ, and Jesus the christ never for once in the new testament urge his followers to pay tithes, there is no instance in the bible were jesus collected tithes from his followers or admonished the multitude of his followers to pay any sort of levy or due, rather he fed them with fishes and bread, when they were hungry, he did not ask his followers to make donations so that the money could be used to buy more fish and bread, rather he told his followers to go out and give to the poor and needy, to Jesus the christ giving to the poor, orphaned, widowed and disabled was the true markings of his follower.

But today the Christian pastors/followers of jesus the Christ have all resorted to this cheap scam of deceiving their members into giving one tenth of their monthly income to the pastor, some pastors go as far as telling their members that tithe should be paid on any money that enters one's hand, be it student's allowances, etc, this tithe fraud insults the work of jesus the christ, the modern pentecostal pastors are no different from the pharisees and scribes of old whom Jesus the christ preached against, today our pastors have become jet owning, Money laundering, divorcing individuals, they have no sense of direction, they are fraudulent and I hope that God exposes them one by one as he is already doing,

If you are a pastor, and you are reading this, and you collect tithe, know that you are fraudulent, and God's judgement will fall upon you if you do not desist from this. Fraudulent pastors

PoliticsRe: 2015: I Have What It Takes To Govern Delta State, Says Obuh - by bolaino(m): 6:12pm On Oct 04, 2014
atlwireles:
Sir Anthony Obuh, a leading governorship frontrunner for Delta State under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the forthcoming primary election said he has the requisite experience to be the governor of Delta State come 2015.
Speaking during a media interactive session with journalists in Lagos, Obuh said he had32 years cognate experience in the public service, eight of which he spent as permanent secretary, thereby being the most eligible person to seek election for the office of the governor of Delta State.

Obuh, who holds a master’s degree in Industrial and Labour Relations from University of Ibadan and a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of lie Ife, retired voluntarily as permanent secretary in charge of Government House, Delta State in August 2014 after 32 years of distinguished service, told journalists that he should be seen as a symbol of unity for the state, adding that he has what it takes to preside over the affairs of the oil rich state.
“As someone who has been part of government for the past eight years at the level of permanent secretary, and earlier as director at various levels of administration and in addition to other capacities in the state, amounting to 32 years, I understand the workings of government and no one would be more experienced than I on issues concerning governance,” Obuh said. “In the past 32 years, my forte has been responsive policy formulation and management to meet exigencies and long-term well being of our dear state.
“I promise to run an administration that will bring about the sustenance, extension, development and diversification of the many policies and programmes for economic transformation which has been firmly planted in many sectors of the state economy. My deep inside knowledge of these policies is an advantage that I want all Deltans to particularly note.”
As permanent secretary, Government House, Obuh galvanised and restructured the machinery of the Government for improved productivity, according to sources in Government House, Asaba. Obuh has promised to run an all-inclusive and responsive government, building upon the very strong foundation already laid by previous administrations in the state.
He noted that Delta State needs someone who understands governance, an experienced administrator who understands Delta State, someone who has been part of the system, to take over in 2015. “I have been part of the policy formulation in the state, I have headed many government initiatives aimed at building the Delta of our dream,” Obuh said, stressing, “I am not a stranger to governance.”
Obuh explained that his decision to contest the governorship election is a commitment to further contribute to the development of the state for the improvement of the living standard of the people.
“I began holding sensitive positions quite early in my career,” he said, “In 1993, while as a principal personnel officer, I was posted as director of personnel management of Governor’s Office. In this capacity I was co-coordinating the careers of senior management group of the entire public service, including processing the appointments in the Governor’s Office which subsumed a large number of departments at the time. These duties afforded me profound understanding of the machinery of government, its strengths and weaknesses.”
He rose through the ranks steadily and served in directorial positions cutting across various ministries and parastatals, including director of planning, research and statistics in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning; acting chairman, Bendel Insurance Company Limited; acting chairman, UIDC; alternate director, PAMOL Industry Limited; director, Public Service Matters, Office of the Head of Service; General Manager, Delta Transport Service Limited; director, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Governor’s Office.
Having served in all the critical departments where he distinguished himself as assiduous and indefatigable technocrat, Obuh gained the confidence and trust of the state government to serve in higher capacity where his experience and knowledge was of greater value to the state. In June 2006, he was appointed Permanent Secretary in the Delta State public service and retained in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, where he had served as Director before his elevation to the pinnacle of his career. Obuh was the pioneer permanent secretary in the office of the Secretary to the State Government. By June 2007, following his superlative performance, Obuh was posted to the Directorate
of Government House and Protocol, but has retired voluntarily to contest for the Office of the Governor of Delta State.

Smh, The nature of the Threat is that Boko haram is growing and there are speculations in the intelligence community that the Islamic state formerly known as ISIS, is planning on smuggling weapons and military hardware to Africa, to help spread the Terror campaign of the Islamic Caliphate. Wake up Nigerians, Wake up before it's too late, Say No to Corruption, The military is failing in it's duty because it has become corrupt, Corruption is our biggest enemy, Boko haram is ambushing men of the armed forces because some corrupt ones are selling the Good ones out, and the rest are scared to die for nothing, let us say no to corruption. The Boko haram threat is real, let us join hands together to fight against terrorism and let us provide our military with reliable information on how to track and dismantle boko haram cells. Boko haram is all about the funding I keep telling you. Cut off the funds you kill the beast. Long Live The Federal Republic Of Nigeria.

PoliticsRe: The Insignificance Of The Black Man. by bolaino(op): 8:36pm On Oct 03, 2014
ROSSIKE: The whole 'consumerism' thing was due to the fact that firms found it cheaper to export to Nigeria since the local buying class wasn't sufficiently large to support in-country production. But that is now changing as the middle classes expand across Africa. Now firms, local and foreign, are capitalizing on this and establishing manufacturing plants across the continent. In Nigeria at last count, 22 car manufacturers are committed to setting up manufacturing operations in Nigeria. That will boost the economy to no end, with ancillary services, like car components industries etc, set to boom. Also, power generation is improving following massive investment, privatization and deregulation, which will help boost local industry etc etc..
Hmmmm.

ROSSIKE: Your problem is that all you want to see is problems. You are likely overwhelmed by all the negative news from western media regarding Africa. However that is no excuse. In these days of the internet, you should be able to research and entertain an African development trajectory based on current economic developments on the continent, independently of influence from western media.
My Good sire, I believe humans live to solve problems, Problems are a part of our existence, and solving these problems should be the crux of our existence, But in all fairness to what you're trying to say, modern day Africa has grown exponentially compared to the Africa of say 20 years ago, but The growth is based solely on our need to consume, consumerism is one of our biggest problem in Africa. We consume more than we can produce, and we have very small and minimal production capabilities. Take Nigeria for instance, we can't even produce our most consumed commodity, which is fuel. We instead rely on western countries for the finished petroleum product. That tells you we still rely heavily on western economies to survive.
