Good morning good people, please what does it mean when your background check changes from "not applicable" to " we are processing your background check....."

If you have someone in Canada that can help you receive it and scan to you, that could be faster than waiting for standard delivery to Nigeria... Otherwise, you can go ahead with your plan.

Thank you so much for your response. Changed to standard shipping....233CAD.

Yes... As it is on the letter.

primeson1:

You meant edit the work hours to reflect 45 and the job title to reflect what's on the reference letter (the duties are the same though)

I thought you mentioned earlier that your file was moved to London, Ontario and not UK...

Ajujuju2:

Yes ma'am!
I got an ADNR(we do not need additional docs) in August.

However I also found out my file was moved to the dreaded London. Guess God wants to teach me patience. According to our Canadianfly: Romans 9:16. grin grin

Need to change my moniker to Patience! grin grin grin

In other news, alot of congratulations are in order. I cant remember the names of all the recipients but i'm happy for you all. our PPR holders list keeps increasing. May God bless our various journeys.

Did you call yesterday or send another email?

Marvi4real:

My additional documents status changed about 3 weeks ago to we do not need any additional documents but my file is still at CIO as at yesterday.I have been on NA2 for 43days.
CIC doesn't have any regular pattern
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by boldinc(m): 5:58am On Sep 08, 2017
Quite!

MrsBee:

I had an ADR too after Medicals passed, NA2 followed 3 days after. CIC is highly unpredictable.
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by boldinc(m): 7:01pm On Sep 07, 2017
I think the NA2 came later cos of the ADR...

MrsBee:

Did you notice his NA2 was in September? I don't know if that means anything.

@Yooku, @deeore @ajujuju2 @yewwygrace @boldinc has anyone seen any update in the Additional documents section?

The person I quoted had similar timeline and just got PPR this morning... Sydney VO!

People have mentioned tweeting directly at them... Seems to work better.

Virt:
I have sent a private message on twitter, but they referred me back the same online customer service form. Is there another way on twitter I can get their attention.

Though I have done as Canadianfly suggested faxing them, but I wont mind exploring all options now grin

Thanks for the info...

@Yooku, @deeore @mrsbee @ajujuju2 @yewwygrace etc... Looks like there's movement in Sydney now!

Hi Boldinc, when I mailed CPC CTD Ottawa in August, I was informed that my application was being processed at the CIO in Sydney Nova Scotia.

Try Twitter...

Virt:
Please how can I contact WES other than the usual online customer service form as they rarely respond to it. It's been a week since my University responded to the email verification and WES has still not acknowledged it by updating my account. My account status still shows "on hold".

Thanks for your anticipated assistance.

Once you get ITA, Your scores will not be affected, not even by age increment.

nnekdre:

Please if you use your current DOB and u get your ITA and just before submitting your birthday comes up and increases your age thus reducing your CRS score. Are you not meant to recalculate before applying ?

You should go with the IRCC option... That's the organization that needs your ECA.

I assume you are applying for Express Entry...

senola1:

This is the more reason why one needs to be sure, because the thing is quite confusing. Honestly

You don't have to wait 6 months for your POF... if you get ITA soon, apply immediately and add documents showing proof of sales to your POF.

All d best!

Cannie:
Hello good people
What do you think?
I sold a couple of my properties and I was able to raise way above the POF requirement.
I am looking at ITA sometimes in December.
I honestly can't wait for the 6months bank thingy to apply.
Does it make sense to just invest this money in treasury bills (6month tenure) immediately and use the certificate for POF even if the investment is not up to 2months?
Your opinion counts

But you do not know the conditions of her situation.

She's in the best position to make a decision and I'm sure from everything we've all said and contributed, she can make an informed one.

bigfido:

This is not culture. This is trying to runaway with what belongs to two people. Don't sugar coat it. So you will just wake up now and hear your baby mama/father has taken your child to Canny without your consent. I will bring down that embassy.

My advice to you...

Fill the form accurately and as truthful as possible...

Do not add what is not requested. Your are a single mother and never been married. The CiC form has an option/section for you. Follow through...

Wish you all the best!

amoese:

Ok thank you.

Clearly she was never married as she stated. She has no issues at all...

@boldinc this is the Genesis of the discussion.

Lol... that's someone's opinion just like ours.

Like I said earlier. Culturally, yes it could be an issue, but not for CIC. Those are personal issues and has nothing to with her application.

Anyway, I respect your opinion and it's a good thing you're trying to help out. Well done...

bigfido:

You need to stop this ill advice. What proof do you have?

See what I found on Canadavisa forum as well

She never mentioned they were together. Having a child with someone doesn't mean they were in a common law union nor marriage nor lived together.

You can only separate if you were together... I guess the person in question can shed more light.

cochtrane:

If anything, CIC may consider that association common-law since they were in a conjugal relationship, even though they were not married. Found this on their site. "Separated" the operating word here.
Well, what do I know...

Well, your expectation might just be cut short cos there's no part in the application where she would need to produce such document.

Some single mothers have only their names on the child's birth certificate. It's not really a big deal... maybe culturally here in Nigeria, but not in most developed countries.

cochtrane:

I would expect if she has no document showing she has full custody of the child, her application will go any farther without a consent form from the father.

Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by boldinc(m): 5:36pm On Sep 01, 2017
That wouldn't be necessary for a secondary applicant.

cochtrane:

There is no reason you should be penalized. Perhaps you should take the eligibility test with your new scores to see if you are eligible.
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by boldinc(m): 5:35pm On Sep 01, 2017
You couldn't have said it any better. It's not illegal to be single and have a child.

Simply fill in single (if never married) and if married earlier, make sure you have all legal documents showing proof of separation.

There will be no part to upload a consent form from the father nor anyone. Just make sure you also have the child's birth certificate.

Wish you all the best!

Ajujuju2:

Bros biggy abeg make i put mouth here.

CIC has only the following categories... Single/Married/Separated/Divorced/Widowed. There's no space for "Complicated/Ex-lover/BabyDaddy!"

All she has to do is simply fill single (unless they were at some point married, then any of the other legal definitions (separated/divorced) will apply). And she is legally free to include her son as a dependant. He does afterall have a birth certificate that states father and mother, so d woman isnt misrepresenting any detail. Where trouble will exist is if she intentionally mis-states his paternity on the birth certificate...by leaving him out or using someone else (which is another story).

I assume you would have signed a contract (or have an email correspondence giving them a go ahead to offer their services to you) with the agency if they have already created a profile for you... If so, it is advisable you do not breach the contract cos it could affect your future applications (Canreach is a reputable and registered agency with ICCRC and recognized by IRCC). In this case, I would advise you contact them and let them know you would like to terminate the contract... You should also read the terms in which this can be done in the contract you may have signed with them. You might have to pay a certain amount to get it done.

However, if you had no contract signed nor email to give them a go ahead to offer their services to you, simply contact them to delete the profile or hand over the log-in details to you.

Whatever you choose to do, please make sure it's not to ignore and just create another profile...

incredibledude:
I used an immigration agent(canreach) for my express entry profile. That was prior to getting to know about this forum. They really made me believe that they would provide the best support. Mehn its all fake just to get one to pay them money. I had to literally chase them to create the profile. Now I dont even know if the details they entered is accurate because they didnt give me the login details. The only time they kept calling was when I was yet to pay them their $1500 consultancy fee.

Please I need some candid advise and opinions on the steps to take. I think it is better to handle the whole process myself. Those immigration agents are more about the money they would make.

Correct!

FSOFF:
hello House,

Please another clarification, I just went to DHL office to send my passports and I was told that I do not need to send pre-paid return envelope with my package, that once the passports are ready the high commission in Ghana will send me a mail and that is when I'll then go to DHL office to pay for the package to be returned and also a letter of authorization for the high commission to release the passports to DHL. I just wanted to run this by the house for seniors to please help out.

Thanks.
