Wow! It's likely you have a gotten ban... I believe Canada and US share info and once you declare your refusal as you should during your application, they might investigate. Plus you would be asked by you were denied... I do not know what imact this could have on your application.

Wish you all the best!

Listrab110:

Hi boldinc, no I wasn't asked for any documents. But a friend in the US had earlier applied for a diversity visa for me using another country of birth instead of Nigeria where I was born, without my knowledge. When I got shortlisted in the lottery, he contacted me and asked me to find a way of getting the country's passport and documents which I declined as I wasn't aware that was what he had claimed in the visa lottery application. It came as a surprise to me when I was asked about the diversity visa application during my US visitor's visa interview. The visa officer refused to listen to my explanations about being unaware of the application my friend in the US made on my behalf, and said I misrepresented myself as the visa lottery application was filled with another country of birth...so much for friends!

Please do you have any idea on the impact of US visa denials on the Canadian PR application?

Thanks!

Did you falsify any documents you presented to the Visa Officer?

Listrab110:
Hello guys,

Please I'm new here and really need your advice. I intend applying for this express entry program, but wanted to find out if US visa denials affect one's chances of securing the Canadian immigrant visa and PR. I've been refused a US visit visa twice now, and after the second US visa interview, the consular officer said to me "you wouldn't be going to the US in a loooonngg time", and then passed me the normal 214b blue visa denial document. Please does anyone know about the effects of US Visa denials on the express entry application so I can know what step to take next?

Many thanks!

Thanks Buddy... This is very informative!

Blackbuddy:
Please see this article/opinion copied from Quora. It contains a lot of key points and nuggets about how to settle down professionally in Canada. Please note again, it was copied from Quora https://www.quora.com/Why-do-so-many-skilled-immigrants-complain-that-they-do-not-get-jobs-in-Canada

2 days ago, I attended Gateway 2017 in Markham, Ontario. It was a free conference for newcomers to Canada who were struggling to find work, giving them an opportunity to express their concerns, ask questions and networking with CEOs and other Canadian professionals.

I got to see first hand the complaints of skilled immigrants who do not get jobs in Canada, and this is what I found.

To sum up…

Canada welcomes diversity in the workplace. That is what the Gateway 2017 conference was all about.

But what they did not mention, and this is my personal insight, is that one place where diversity is not accepted is the norms of business conduct.

Your diversity will be accepted from your fresh ideas, creative innovation and dynamic insights.

But when you communicate, when you lead teams, when you make presentations, when you attend meetings, when you make a sales pitch, when you care for patients, when you ask for a raise, when you work with your boss and every other aspect of business conduct you can think of, it's done one way - the Canadian way.

You know, following simple instructions if what causes problems for a lot of us... CIC simply requires that we submit a reference letter... and in a particular format. Why submit what they didn't request? I believe that shows a high level of desperation and disregard. You might as well add your result from every course in school and probably your matriculation number, maybe a picture of your graduation as well, etc...

Each section has specific instructions... try to adhere to them strictly. No one should get worried about not being able to provide payslips, employment letter nor other documents mentioned here that were not requested by CIC. Loads of people on here have gotten their Visas without hassles nor delay! If you can't get the reference letter in the required format, then you can consider other supporting documents and add an LOE.

These are my thots... pls go ahead with what makes you comfortable.

Boss13:
I think it will be unfair of me to read that reference letter is sufficient enough for A11.2 (Eligibility) and I won’t say anything. What I have come to understand in this journey is that if you approach it with a lazy attitude, there are some VOs that will address your laziness.

I keep repeating - you don’t want to go through the emotional trauma of not seeing any significant movement in your application and when you send a mail, the response is that you should minimize communication. Canadians are subtle with insult. Trust me, you don’t want to experience that. You don’t want to be on the phone and a CPC agent is telling you that he/she cannot see your file and your file is wide open on their computer screen.

Some people are fortunate, but not all will be. Save yourself that trouble of worries, less sleep, lack of concentration, unnecessary anger and package your application like a professional.

It's a good thing your application wasn't rejected. Raise a CSE and upload the Dorm account statement and also an LOE that you had uploaded it earlier.

The 4594 CAD was the conversion of your 1.3m. They obviously didn't notice the dorm account statement.

Nozzle:
My NL Family,
sad news...
i just got my GCMS notes today,
settlement funds was not properly updated.
i scanned bank statements of two accounts plus bank letter all in one file as at 11 July
my dorm $14k
savings 1.3m

i really dont know where they got the 4594 CAD from??
can you immagine my application has been pending because of this, i didnt even know.
My Eligibility reads review required!

what do i do?

What you have is good enough... Most banks refuse to issue the letter in that format, but the genral letter and bank statements would suffice.

All the best!

lilyandie:
Good morning my people o.

So my banks ( first bank and UBA) gave me a reference letter that states when i opened an account with them and that I have no loans with them, but they did not include my average six months balance in the letter, instead they gave me six months bank statement to add to the letter. This is what I submitted in my application. Is this a problem? Or should I insist on a new letter that has the average balance?

I noticed same... It's not cool to just try run down someone's business idea.

There is really nothing wrong with tryna offer services to people that could need them.

I can understand insisting for paid Ads on here, but otherwise... That's just someone tryna earn a living by offering tailored services.

I will advise you to ignore that email... They are mostly scammers and out to get your money.

You have a better chance of getting PR by applying yourself and via Express Entry like everyone here is doing.

Try read up the first page of this thread and most importantly page 0 of the first part (with over 800 pages) and you can begin your application from there.

First thing you need to sort out is to write the IELTS exam (general training) and then get your Degrees evaluated.

All information you need are on the pages I suggested you read.

All the best!

prodam:
Good day peeps,

I really appreciate your effort, and I have read through the pages and still gathering my information.

While trying to get documents together to apply for this PR thing:

Someone sent me a mail he got from a Canada-based immigration consultants where they claim to have slots for work permits and visas.

This package comes with job offers from employers that will sponsor the visa+permit and thereafter collect the fees back from your monthly salaries based on certain percentages ( First 3 - 4 Months).

Kindly advise if this is obtainable. Please help me as it involves a processing fee of 50k for the agreement and documentations.

Your course of study doesn't have to match your work experience. What's most important is matching your work experience with a job title/description in the accepted NOC category.

I really marvel at how you just spoke... EVERYONE here's sole purpose for writing IELTS is for Immigration, hence the reason you are even on this thread... But you can prove me otherwise by telling me just ONE other reason you are registering for IELTS (General Training).

We all preach 'say the truth as it is' and even talk down on people with regards to this, yet some still wanna manipulate... Hoping BC will not be stingy with scores if they do not mention the real reason they need the results (to boost your scores for CIC). If there's really no impact on your score like you say... Why LIE or CONSIDER it? When registering for ECA, I'm very positive you selected Immigration... No?

Anyway... the choice is yours and that was only my opinion.

cochtrane:

There's nothing binding the use of your IELTS score to immigration. If you opt to not state a reason, whatever it is, it has no bearing on your application. And if you do, it has still no impact on your application. So, there's no "truth" or "nontruth" here. It's not like those who write for immigration are accessed any nicely than those who aren't, at least according to BC. Anyone's reason for writing IELTS isn't exactly the curious need of BC, besides for the purposes of a survey. It has zero impact on your score. So, it should be a complete choice to share or not share this info with BC for whatever reason. And unlike with CIC, there's no "contract" binding candidates to tell any "truth" to BC, so there's really no point in your statement.

The question couldn't be anymore straight forward... You shouldn't care what they use it for. Just simply answer the question truthfully and correctly.

sunvick:
That question is not black and white sir. As it has no influence to the outcome of the result. BC often use those auxiliary questions for statistical analysis and keep track of migration trend i guess.

If it's for immigration, it should be stated... I thought we were preaching 'truth' here.

cochtrane:

I don't think you need to state immigration as a reason. British Council does not even send your results to CIC.

czaratwork:
Good morning all. please i want to ask some questions and need urgent response.

Those that got their credentials notarised, did you have any need to use the notarised copies? i want to go and do mine today at ikeja court. Not sure about this...

Then for our electronic gadgets (phones, laptops) any idea of how and where to get the adapters (step down) that will work in canny or is there no need to worry about that? Phones, TVs Laptops and most gadgets do not not need step down... They are compatible with 110 & 220V. What you might need tho is a 2-pin adapter that'll fit into the sockets over there.

Am i to make the list of accompanying goods and goods to follow on a plain sheet or is there a form to download online for that? If i am to make the list how does it look like. i remember seeing someone write here that you will put a price/cost to all items listed. I think there's a form for that somewhere on CIC website. I can't remember where I saw it. People who have landed can pls confirm.

I have no one to stay with when i land, i am yet to book for where i will stay. any suggestions on how to go about booking reservations (not hotels o) and companies that render such short stay accomodation because i intend to look for accomodation from where i will stay temporarily. Do i have to pay for the accomodation before leaving naija or can i pay when i get there? airbnb.com is a good and affordable option. you can book for a week, months... as you might need.

Then my luggages, i have seen that such companies will pick you up from the airport. i really need such services as i cant pay taxi fare for my landing luggages over there (okoro woman). I believe you should be able to get a mini van from the airport (Ballerz can help with that... He mentioned he used one from the airport).

I am leaving on Monday 25th 1.30pm naija time to Land on Tuesday 7.30am canny time.

Yes it could be, but you will need a gift deed from the source (most advisably one lump sum from one source). You shouldn't need an LOE, having the gift deed.

Morning Great Minds,
Could someone kindly clarify if the minimum fund to show as POF could be raised immediately ITA is issued? If yes, will such arrangement with LOE fetch one a PPR? Thanks for the anticipated kind response.

Wura27:
Quick advise to all COPR recipients

If you'r interested in the Nigerian pre-arrival services funded by Canadian government, its best you quickly register for it now!

You don't need to submit your passport before you apply. All you need to do is upload your PPR mail when filling the application.

It's best to apply asap because the wait time is really long.

Alternatively, you can do the online one if you wish
