I am a 19-year-old medicine (MBBS) aspirant. I have written three jamb and MBBS admission has not come my way.

I applied twice in ui and once in Unilag.
For the unilag admission, I was 11 marks below the cut off mark in 2017.

In 2018, I was 2 marks below the cut off mark in ui.
This year, my aggregate is relatively low.

Now, I need advice on:
1. How to score 340+ in the forthcoming (2020) utme.
2. How to re strategize
3. How to eliminate boredom while reading/preparing.

4. Materials/books I can prepare with.

Oga if you took your time to read the article you won’t be sounding this pained. If truly you have kids in the states, unless maybe they’ve not gotten to college level, you should know nobody will call you and dash you Scholarship. You apply for it from High School at the point of entry, and you’re either given full, half or you sponsor yourself via student loans or the likes.

Let’s assume the young man applied to MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Caltech, and a couple of other Unis... If he got a full ride Scholarship of 400K for the entire duration of his degree from 6 different unis Including MIT and Harvard, that’s already $2.4M... He would have also gotten tuition only scholarship from some universities that can’t afford full rides, so why is the $2.7M a big deal...

The truth is he’ll only end up accepting only the scholarship at MIT which won’t exceed $400,000 for the duration of his degree.

Let’s assume he applied to 10 Unis and he got Full Rides to about 5 (MIT and Harvard Included) and maybe half just tuition to 2 Unis, wouldn’t that be equivalent to 2.7M?

The 2.7M is the total worth of Scholarships he was awarded, it does NOT mean he’ll have access to it. Since he’s opted for MIT, he’ll only have access to the funds at MIT valued at a max $400K.

This is not rocket science na, you can also contact your friends in the states to explain this for you!

I think u the 2.7 million dollars is also very very questionable. From MITs website 9 months tuition is about 51k and living and boarding is about 16k. Books is like 3k. All a total of about 70k. Let's assume the scholarship sponsors are super generous and mark it up to 100k. That is 400k in 4 years. So how is he getting 2.7 million?sounds laughable to me given that I schooled in the u.s and I know how universities get.with their funding.

Ps:while I congratulate the man, this just serves as another wake up call to Nigerian youths. Get of your ass and do something for yourself. If it's not achievable you here find your way out into another country.
