Pope Francis on Sunday, May 1, appointed Nigerian Archbishop Jude Thaddeus Okolo from Ozubulu in Nnewi Diocese, Anambra State, the new apostolic nuncio to the Czech Republic.

He will replace Charles Daniel Balvo, who has served as apostolic nuncio to the Czech Republic for the past four years.

Archbishop Jude Thaddeus Okolo was born on December 18, 1956 and is a prelate of the Catholic Church who has worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See since 1990.

He was ordained a priest by Francis Cardinal Arinze in July 2, 1983 and was consecrated a Bishop by the same Francis Cardinal Arinze in on September 27, 2008.

Archbishop Jude Okolo has held the following post in the Catholic Church:

1. Apostolic Nuncio to the Dominican Republic.

2. Apostolic Delegate to Puerto Rico.
3. Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland.

4. Currently Apostolic Nuncio to Czech Republic.

An apostolic nuncio, also known as a papal nuncio or simply as a nuncio, is an ecclesiastical diplomat, serving as an envoy or a permanent diplomatic representative of the Holy See to a country or to an international organization.

The Catholic Church has three nuncios from Nigeria. They are:

Archbishop Jude Okolo from Nnewi Diocese, Anambra state. He is the Apostolic Nuncio to Sri Lanka.

Yesterday I got the Scare of My Life while drinking at a Bar in my neighbourhood last Night,I was at a bar having a couple drinks,while charging my phone,we were about 6 in Number in that Bar at the Time,Most of the Guys there were predominantly Yoruba,I was the only Igbo Guy there with two other guys Gees from akwaibom.

So while we were drinking,we were having a loud conversation and making Jokes about the Whole Dog Saga, Then I brought Up the Ritualist Man who slept with his babes Corpse for 6 days,

Then the Guy sitting next to me who happens to be a Yoruba guy looked at me and said
"That Man No Sabi Work" I was shocked and speechless,then he went further to say " the Guy should have done a couple things like cutting of her Tongue,and also talked about a chemical which he should have used to seal the corpse Mouth,and Dry Up her intestines and other Organs to compress the stench of the Dead Body because the stench usually comes from inside the Body.

I was so shocked!! I didn't even have a reply to give him,His statement made me wonder how the hell did he get that knowledge??

A married woman, Funmilola Osundare escaped d3ath by whiskers in Akure, the Ondo state capital, after her yet to be identified boyfriend, suspected to be a ritualist butchered her.

Vanguard gathered that the timely intervention of neighbours saved the victim from being hacked to d3ath by the k!ller’s boyfriend at a rented apartment in ljapo, GRA, Akure.

The victim reportedly sustained varying degrees of matchet cuts on her face, shoulders and hands.
Sources said that the boyfriend said to be a footballer took the victim to the house where he moved in three days before the ugly incident to pass the night.

The Suspect reportedly attacked her at midnight but her distress cries attracted the neighbours who invited operatives of the state security outfit codenamed Amotekun.
Vanguard learnt that the suspect fled while the neighbours rushed the victim to the Police Clinic for treatment where she was rejected and referred to the University of Medical Sciences, Teaching Hospital, Akure.

The Executive Secretary of the State Agency Against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence(OSAA-GBV), Bar. Mrs Bola Joel-Ogundadegbe explained that she was informed about the incident by the Police and the agency quickly notified the First Lady, Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, who immediately ordered that the victim be taken to a hospital and, consequently, settled the emergency bills.

Joel-Ogundadegbe said that ” the victim was on oxygen in the Trauma centre Ondo and back to life, but yet to regain consciousness and strength to talk.
Ogundadegbe noted that no one was yet to identify the boyfriend of the victim, but that his neighbours said he is a footballer.
She said that Funmilola needed to be referred to the Federal Medical Centre for a service of a neurosurgeon, due to the deep wound on her head.
The state Commander of Amotekun, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, said his men rushed the victim to the hospital.

A 27-year-old father, Adeniyi Adeleke, arrested by police detectives in Ondo state, for having carnal knowledge of her daughter has confessed that he wanted to use her for money rituals.

According to the state police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, the suspect ” a 27-year-old father, Adeniyi Adeleke confessed he had carnal knowledge of her 10-year-old daughter, Hannah Alo, to use her for money rituals.
