Pray for what? What is your performance where you are? You should ask yourself if you have anything to offer to the people. Not to grab power and keep people in misery. Once you guys occupy any significant position at the federal level, your quest for governorship begins. |
Babatunjo:The superstitious theories will keep rolling in. It could just be coincidence. That Nick Buckley is a racist ghoul. |
You have brought your myopic view into this tragedy. A view shaped by your hardship in a developing country with high levels of poverty. What Joshua tries to do when he comes to Nigeria is to blend with the general populace. He is not here to flaunt his wealth, but show that he is one of us. He is here to experience things like an ordinary Nigerian and not gallivant with private jets and armed escorts. It has nothing to do with stinginess. It is not your fault though. It is the environment you have found yourself. When you are poor or surrounded by poverty, you tend to see everything from a monetary standpoint. |
What a tragedy. The negative international coverage continues. What a country. |
The hypocritical U.S. is calling for restraint. |
SisterAnn:It is always the meddlesome interlopers running wild with their emotions. Get your priorities right in 2026. |
Stomoney:You clearly know nothing about politics. |
Can we get serious in this country? Is it their birth right? Pity. |
SisterAnn:The clueless neophyte wouldn't dare use our money to buy any stupid structure. Money wouldn't even buy it. You don't understand what he is up against. He should focus on governance and leave that place. Who is Fubara in Rivers politics? What is his business with structure? Did you even understand the post you reacted to? Politics is not for everyone. If you don't have the might, obey agreements. Fubara has barely done anything in the state because he tried to punch above his weight. He is no saint. He understood what was required of him when he accepted the mantle, after being handpicked by his godfather Wike from oblivion. Ordinarily, for spending state funds without appropriation, orchestrating the destruction of the Assembly building, among other infractions against the constitution, the ingrate ought to have been impeached. |
Greedy unconscionable lot. They will justify anything. |
Fubara is a snake. A man whose words you cannot trust. Was there an agreement or not that he wouldn't do a second term? It is not about rushing to Abuja every second. A man without honour. He would have resigned long ago, if he had any integrity. He should stick to what he agreed to. Rivers State cannot continue with him and his crisis. Why is he always scheming? Did he have any ambition to be a governor before Wike helped his ungrateful life? This is the person some nonentities are saying the president has guaranteed his second term? Will the president be in Rivers State on election day? What does Tinubu know about Rivers politics? Wike is already protecting the president's interest, so he should let him play his politics. I have never seen this brand of politics. The treachery of this neophyte is too much. You don't know anything in politics, yet simple agreement you won't honour. There is no time this neophyte honours what he willingly agreed to. He goes about deceiving gullible people and looking for sympathy. Is this the person Tinubu will support? Wike was the one that brought Fubara and also ensured his victory and that of the president. Nothing has changed. Wike still controls all the structures and can replicate same. Tinubu does not need Fubara. Wike and his allies will bring in someone else.

Statements like this do not deserve any attention. It comes from a place of ignorance. |
Since the government is not ready to take the battle to these terrorists, this is what will keep happening unfortunately. How many attacks have been launched against the terrorists today? How many will be launched tomorrow? They just sit idle and wait for the terrorists to miraculously vanish. It is a shame. I don't even watch international coverage of Nigeria. What an embarrassment. Useless government. |
A government drowning in incompetence, but concerned with politics. The president himself said if he does not give us 24hrs power supply, he shouldn't be re-elected. |
Very useless government. Only in Nigeria you see terrorists and bandits doing tiktoks on our soil and attending events. They know where these terrorists are but won't attack until they do. Then they repel. Nigeria can't develop with this persisting terrorism within our country. You can pass hundred tax laws, implement whatever policy, still nothing will change. |
You guys will ruin this country with your incompetence and succeed in turning it into a U.S. colony. |
helinues:Why can't it sell in the North? What is their problem with Christianity? But Islam can sell? Perhaps an insight to the security situation in that region and the country. Religious intolerance and radicalism. |
He has been awfully quiet. |
No one has been to the moon. |
badaru911:Low IQ activity. It takes a certain level of intellect to glorify incarceration. Freedom is the highest aspiration of any sensible person. |
Extradite him. He should go and face justice. |
Always looking for shortcuts. |
Only in Nigeria. Instead of addressing the root cause of the problem. Federal and state governments are culpable. |
It is not in doubt that you guys have devised the means of making more revenue at the expense of Nigerians. The people at whose expense you are generating that revenue are not feeling any positive impact of your so-called reforms. Considering the level of corruption and lack of accountability in the country, the whole exercise is in futility. The money will just be stolen and squandered. It is a pity. |
Enddy50ty:Israel is first. I don't know where the USA is on that list. That is the reality and any informed person knows this. |
99 Wizardslayer:Why can't some of you just read and understand? Is that what you took away from this whole article? This is more about principles, autonomy and narratives than just visa. USA is selling a narrative about Europe which they claim is false. They are also using democratic principles which they claim are lacking in Europe to justify their Visa ban on EU officials and citizens. There was bound to be a reaction. This is international relations. Possibly reciprocity too. It is not as mundane as you have reduced it to "fighting for American visa". |
TechSkill:Laughable. |
What a shame. Anyway, the president said during the campaigns that if he doesn't give us 24hrs power supply, he should not be re-elected. "90m people in Nigeria don't have access to electricity. Nigeria has more people without electricity than any other country." "Nigeria cannot be Africa's economic powerhouse, until it can power its own houses." - Ore Ogunbiyi (The Economist’s Africa correspondent) |
Flimsy excuses. You guys are not ready to end this terrorism. |
TechSkill:Fubara ke. The novice Wike brought into politics. Whoever Wike and his allies support for governorship in Rivers State would win. That is not Tinubu's business. Wike is in charge of delivering for him. |
Bode George and Bala have gone silent. When Saraki was trying to unite the party, they were acting like it wasn't their business. Where is the party now? They have finally collapsed it. Issuing childish "expulsion" letters. |
