The jury is out on this ! |
We need fresh thinking with someone thinking outside the box. We need a new head of police; not a plethora of xcuses ! |
Lets give Jonathan a chance. I can assure you the alternative candidates will do no better ! |
So much energy being channelled in the wrong direction ! |
I doubt whether this is the breakdown of the latest salary these greedy people are collecting: A Senator’s pay slip in Nigeria : Basic Salary (BS) - N2,484,245.50. HardshipAllowance@50 of Basic Salary - N1, 242,122.70 (I love this kind of hardship) Constituency allowance @ 200% of BS - N4,968,509.00 Furniture Allowance @ 300% of BS - N7,452,736.50 Newspaper allowance @50% N1,242,122.70 (Which kind newspaper be this shey na online or hard copy?). Wardrobe allowance @ 25% N621,061.37 Recess Allowance@ 10%: - N248,424.55 Accommodation @ 200% - N4,968,509.00. Utilities @ 30% - N828,081.83. Domestic Staff @ 35% - N863,184.12. Entertainment @ 30% - N828,081.83. Personal Assistance @ 25% -N621,061.37. Vehicle Maintenance Allowance @ 75% - N1,863,184.12. Leave Allowance @10% - N248,424.55. One off payments (As advised by SagamiteSeverance gratuity) @ 300% - N7,452,736.50 (Once they get fired.) Motor Vehicle Allowance @ 400% of BS - N9,936,982.00 - Every Four Years Senator's Salary per month -N2,456,647.7 Total = N29,479,749. 00 Per Year * 109 Senators Grand Total = N3,264,329,264. 10 A feeding frenzy!!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!! Salary of U.S. President: $250,000/year GDP of U.S. Economy: $13Trillion/ year Allowance of Nigerian Senator: $1,500,000/year GDP of Nigerian Economy: $45 Billion/year And what do the Senators do to deserve this pay? Ungratefully, they want more. These guys want a whopping N30million every month. Most of the Doctors, Teachers/Lecturers, Engineers, Civil Servants and other productive Professionals can't boast of N1m per annum. What a pity !!! SAY NO TO THIS OPEN LOOTING OF NIGERIA . FORWARD THIS MESSAGE TO ALL PATRIOTIC NIGERIANS ! HAAAAAAAAAABAAAAAAAAAAAAAA GOD DEY |
Please defend yourselves. We want to see their justification for the huge amounts of monies which all the members of the National Assembly are collecting on a quarterly basis. We, the people, whom they say they represent want to know what actual work they are doing which warrants them being paid these collosal sums of monies. We are waiting O ! |
Wale - well said. However, Atiku also falls into that category of discredited politicians who we must resist from returning. |
It is actually embarrassing and shameful to say the least ! In the last four years Oyo state has degenerated considerably. Once you go through the Ibadan end of the toll gate on the road to Iwo Road roundabout it seems as if one is driving through a war zone with activities of one sort or the other (legal and illegal) going on indiscriminately on either side of the road, carcases of vehichles involved in accidents strewn all over the place, vegetation uncut, filth and garbage all over the place with huge big craters in the middle of the road . It is an eye sore ! , and the governor has the temerity to ask for our votes come 2011 ! He should have his head in shame. |
Please if you know of any co-ordinated movement or efforts being made to stop him I would be interested. His stewardship has been nothing to write about and has actually set Oyo state back by roughly 20 years. Compared to other progressive states like Lagos, Oyo state resembles Afghanistan ! |
Akala has lost the plot for a very long time and should just step aside for more qualified people to govern Oyo State - he is an un mitigated disaster ! |
the jury is still out on this one. |
Well done and well said fellow Nairalanders - at least there is some semblance of hope that not all the people can be fooled (by these spent politicians) all the time ! |
We have seen through all these shenanigans by the rag team of IBB ! |
Nobody in his right frame of mind should pay any serious attention to what IBB and his paid sycophants are saying. We know his history and the evil and demonic antics which he is capable of. We will not be fooled for a second time. In this case the angel we don't know will surely be better and much more trust worthy than the DEVIL we know ! |
Well said Pukkah ! We all right thinking Nigerians must do all within our power to prevent IBB from achieving his warped pipe dream ! |
Thanks Supereagle for the www.againstbabangida.com link. Where do I find the interview you referred to ? |
Two lessons to be learnt (I hope):- 1. Police authorities should stop the indiscriminate setting up of road blocks and stop and search sites; if they have to be done they should take cognisance of the stopping distances/s required by vehicles of all categories to slow down. There should be warning signs on the approach to a road block ! 2. A proper re think has to be done about authorities in allowing vehicles ply our roads without undergoing MOT tests. I believe if vehicles are made to undergo proper and strict MOT tests, say every six months, it will eventually raise the level of road worthiness of the vehicles on the road and make them safer. It just is not right, safe or proper for heavy duty vehicles, including trailers to be plying our roads with brakes that do not work - is a recipe for disaster just waiting to happen ! |
All I know is Fashola for second term ! |
In response to the original thread/ issue posted, without any prejudice to the reason(s) Fashola might have given Ribadu for not wanting to be his vice presidential running mate, I think the decision he took is right. Fashola has much more to offer Lagos state, as its governor for a second term, albeit with the corruption tendencies ! |
You might be a life saver - will contact you shortly ! |
Ahonohai, You are in order with your posts and pics since this is the travel section. Don't know what the earlier beef with you was about. Anyway I will be following your travails so keep us posted / updated. Enjoy p.s Do you wear any shirts of Liverpool fc ?! |
I guess the minister and his policy advisers do not have any real task to do. Why can't he ban thieves, or 419 or kid napping ! I wonder who they are trying to fool ! |
So what is new ? Professionalism and etiquette long deserted Nigerian football administration. |
Story ! Ghana in the end won their match> Why ? In the end they were hungry for success so they never gave up, they kept on plugging away going forward and asking questions of the Serbian defence. They created their own luck and took advantage of the opportunities that presented themselves. I hope the Super Eagles will learn a lesson or two from this match ! |
Ghana 1 Serbia 0 ![]() |
Serbia down to ten men ! The remaining 15 minutes of the match should really be interesting. Wonder whether Ghana can make the one man advantage count ? |
You underestimate the German national team to your peril. |
At least Ghana are creating chances; some may be crap but they are being brave and asking questions from the Serbian defence. |
! Doing the African continent proud so far ! |
Honeric01, your comments reminds me of the saying "In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king". |
I see an Algerian player has just been sent off. That should spice things up a bit, although I fear for Algeria - they may not be able to hold out against Slovenia. |
Match is boring ! |
