Just a random tot.... Ain't it quite funny asking for career opportunities for English graduate only after being an English graduate? You had atleast 4+ yrs to do that... But then again, non of my business |
Sorry OP, i do not really agree with u (thats if i understand u fully) U saying the experience over paper qualifications.... I say, the experience AND paper qualifications. Its like saying sm igbo dude that has sold drugs all his life shld be employed as a pharmacist over a trained pharmacist. As much as i get the direction of ur point... If u ever had to recruit or be amongst a recruitment panel, u will be surprised the number of CVs one wld hv to work thru and the kind of trumped up experiences people claim. Nigeria isnt aplace u can contact a former employee for a true assessment of any candidate. (even if that employee was sacked for burning down the server room). Except the person is frm a well knwn firm. Finally, one wld just rather err with the dude that has a computing/product related certificate/diploma over one who doesn't; assuming they all hv those trumped up experiences. Ps: sorry mehn... Nigeria isnt a normal society. .. Things dnt work straight forward here most of the time.. Lol |
The more i read nairaland, and see how most of us reason, i just feel we are really hopeless ib this country. From the other thread on if u elected president. 90percent of the posters hv no idea what it means to be a democratically elected president, therefore i wonder how they wld ni what to expect frm their govt. And on this thread.. WHAT NONSENSE ARE PEOOLE SAYING. Because things are tough, let the right thing not be done? An eyesore in the middle of the city is demolished and u come here saying recession and human face? Its this stup.iid mentality that has gotten us here as a country in the first place. If u cannot do what is right, then dnt complain the day the hand of the law catches u. Please yall take ur crayzy a.Ss sentiments off this thread and site joh |
Parents you say?... I am not yet a parent, im in my 30s. And i doubt i will be comfortable with my kids opting for some of these professions straight out of high school. I will encourage them for sure... To pursue passion. But also teach them to be able to combine stuff. Be a lawyer, yet a musician. Be an artist and a photographer. Studying engineering or medicine and be a blogger (Vlogger). (did i hear smone say jack of all trade?) My tot.... its usually safer to hv a fall back plan, just incase u decide that photography or whatever is no longer paying the bills. Maybe i am old school at heart, but i will never forgive myself as a parent if i let my kid go to school to study smthing he/she can still excel at without necessarily having a degeee at it... Esp a first degree. Computer science, then become a programmer, bus admin and be a fashion designer, etc etc. |
This wld be the first time i will be commenting on this issue... Possibly the only. 1. Was there a fund raising based on specific intentions? YES 2. Were these specific intentions followed (treatment location, current health status, travel plans)? NO 3. Did the family inform/carry donors along as regards change of plans NO 4. Did linda send people to confirm the story YES 5. Has linda apologized about the miscommunication YES 6. Did the family intend to scam/divert the money? WE WILL NEVER KNW 7. Is she finally receiving treatment YES.. THANK GOD LESSONS LEARNT 1. When asking the public for funds, give specific descriptions of the plan, and constant update on changes in plan. 2. Since the money came frm the public, they loose the right to plan secretly. 3. Linda, as much as i dnt totally believe she was wrong, the narative wld hv been made abit differently, withoit drawing conclusions and let the readers decide for themselves if its scam or not. Conclusively, bigup for the apology and we all pray and hope the sick lady recovers fully. |
LordScent:Thnk you joh.. U seem to get my drift perfectly. But alot of folks here tend to not just wnt to agree we got high moral decadence in nigeria... Side by side with high religiosity. And feel it " my problem with dunamis" |
kevoh:Oh.. I dnt see it as a dunamis problem, i see it as a nigerian problem at large.. Hence bringing it to a "large forum as this" A direct question to u.. If i may, how high do u think oir morals are as a people in nigeria, especially as compared to other less religious countries u ve been to? |
Tkayhandsome: ![]() |
KingEbukaNaija:Oh. Thats cool.. Bit i doubt its hving the desired results just yet, Or how else do u explain the disposition of the average nigerian. Maybe other churches need to do more.. Right? Coz all we actually need.. In my opinion is 5 oit of 10 people doing right (morally) and others wld fall in line naturally, or dnt u think so. Case in point.. How well behaved we get when we travel to saner countries |
Tkayhandsome:Sorry dude.. This is going to be my last response to u dear. Dnt take this as an insult or anything please... Ur opinion doesnt count on this thread... As far as i am consigned sir... U are not knowledgeable or experienced enough to understand my point of view.. So please dnt take up space for those that can make reasonable arguments. Thnk you |
Ok.. I think i might hv put my tot out wrongly. I am saying, we as a nation are aboit the most religious world over... Why/how then does it not reflect on our daily dealing as nigerians our morals? Now, if smone says i am generalizing... That nigerians are largely moral people.. Then, im not sure i really got any thing else to say to such people. @seun says i shld ask my pastor next sunday... (seriously or sarcastically), i just used dunamis as a reference, and no.. Dunamis is not my church, i do not hv a church, i go where i feel, so i cannot possibly ask him. So, let me re ask, what do u guys think is the cause of moral decadence in nigeria. Decadences like.. Not staying on queue, being dishonest, being intolerant, etc etc. Who is to blame for this? |
Tkayhandsome:I was going to give u an "appropriate" response... Then i saw this "Today, I am suffering because of my disobedience. My dad told me to read law in school. I loved law and wanted law for a course, but soon I changed my mind because of the things I heard about lawyers when I was in primary 6. I left my dream of becoming a lawyer and chose banking. I read finance and banking. To cut the long story short, this is 3 years without a job. I am 26 and all my effort in trying to land myself a job has failed. I feel so empty and broke. Still under momma's roof and eating her meal...Feeling ashamed... But why?" U either knw nothing aka dumb or just bitter and in denial. Are majoroty of nigerians not dishonest? Are majority not intolerant, are we not largely lawless? Yet come sundays and the churches are filled up all shouting to high heavens. Little advice to u... Take ur head out of ur a.s.s and maybe, just maybe u wld leave under ir mommas roof soon. |
Flexherbal:Yes yes.. So i am blaming our religious houses for not reminding us much enough as they wld we pay our tithes and offering or to attend one vigil or another. How do u think we as a people can change. I really dnt thing the govt can do much in that regard, seeing as the govt unlike the church is more about selfish interests, ideally tho. What/how do u suggest we can change? |
Driving out of church today (dunamis abuja) long traffic out, and i stopped for few secs for people to cross the road and the lady behind me, who also just left church started honking loudly and screaming at me. Was on the virge of screaming back when i just decided not to fall to her level. Took me real effort to not just park and give her a piece of my mind. Whats my point? churches preach so much about loving God.. Yada yada yada... And almost nothing about loving ur neighbor no more. Disagree with me all u will, but we nigerian Christian suck in morals. It doesn't take an Einstein to knw this. Patience, tolerance, honesty, truthfulness, meekness, kindness. If right after chruch smone cannot give a lift to a fellow church member going same way, how much more a total, non Christian stranger on a week day Question: how can we Christians (nigerians in general) drop our useless, face value, empty spirituality and for once just be moral. If smone tries to cheat u... And so what? If everyone is jumping the queue, or beating traffic, and so what, must we too? (ps: i really really get pissed when people, Christian with a big a.s.s sticker in a hold up just drive off the queue/road just to beat everyone else tho) Here is my proposal, (suggestions are highly welcomed). Starting a movement #JUST DO RIGHT!! Ps: this also goes for Muslims and traditionalists, just that Christianity is my immediate constituency # lalasticala, seun |
And the punk a.s.s groom didnt dim it fit to rock atleast a red bow tie and pocket square... I love the ladies confidence tho... It takes balls to dare to be different, exactly the kind of girl im looking to marry. Smone that can challenge the conventional tot pattern or what is considered normal.

Good points.. Op, but here is my take. PRAY/WORSHIP HARD, HUSTLE EQUALLY HARD. With ir hustle u conquer the earth, with ur prayer, u hammer for heaven join. I am a Christian and all, but dnt sacrifice what u see and knw currently for that which is ehmmm, not very certain. God wldnt hv put us on earth is his plan is for us to just siddon look. Hustle right guys, hustle tight... Pray even harder. The hustle plays by different rules, there is a meeting point smwhere between the hustle and spirituality, but are still sort of exclusive |
Its high time actually.. He shldnt be handling both slots |
But seriously tho.. WHATS WITH YOU GUYS? Do the fulani herdsmen threaten the territorial integrity of nigeria? Like IPOB and NDA and BH do? Secondly.. Generalizing as fulani herdsmen is totally unfair to the honest herdmen. All state governors are chief security officers of their states, why then do yall expect the president to come and tackle hoodlums and murderers in ur state. Tell ur governors to get to work and catch the criminals. Very soon now, u guys wld expect the president to interfere when ur joystick stops working.... Mtcheww |
MizMyColi:This was a special setup exception.. My official windows desktop on left running some SPSS, my mac center with screen extended to the monitor on the right. Arranging/organizing/writing the report. Usually itz just two systems, monitor is left off till needed. |
Here we go.... |
bootstrap:Oh, please ignore, i was just being lazy. seen it now. he signed the advert. AVM Chukwu |
mimzy007:Hi Mimzy007, i need a little information please. Do you hv any idea who is in charge of this recruitment, official designation or even specific name (equivalent of HR manager). Please its quite important and urgent. you cld send me a PM please. |
Stupid. ity is when some craz.y people here talking of return of bakkasi instead of asking for a solution... Forgetting there are way more igbos amongst the fulanis (hausas) than they are fulanis amongst the igbos. Why wld u wnt to fight a disadvantaged war. One u cannot possibly win. As much as i condemn in its totality the killing at nimbo, i also wish to caution people, especially igbos on here fomenting trouble and calling for reprisals. We are hving a hard time as a country as it is, why do we wnt to add war to it? |
What attestation form? Tot that isnt required at this stage? |
Kk.. I dnt think its that different frm those of other civil/public servants atleast frm the grade 8..which is the least grade for a graduate. (a graduate at the core ministry on grade level 7, doesn't even earn that much sef... Come to think of it) Why we notice how bad they are tho... Is because a good number of them are in the junior cadre. But then again.. Hiw much exactly do one expect a primary school cert holder to earn? His volume of work not withstanding. |
1stoff... Let me add a 3rd dimension from personal experience. I am an adult, and having been sexually active, after about 2 weeks or tops a mnth of not hving sex or masturbatin, i generally just hv a wet dream. And honestly, even more than masturbatin and fornicatin, i hate wet dreams more (too many variables beyond my control) So for me.. Here is my take, i try not to fornicate, in its stead, i masturbate about once a week (or 2 weeks) , been doing that for quite a while, and it doesn't just make me feel healthier, it helps me avoid fornication and them annoying wet dreams. To u asking, forget all the holier than thou attitude sm people are putting up here.... The key word is MODERATION. Avoid over masturbatin, but masturbate rather than visit a prostitute or rape or unprotected sex. I rest my case. |
