All this grammar u guys are speaking and dodging the truth so u dnt cut across as shallow, God is watching oh Who is a guy with potential? A GUY WITH POTENTIAL IS THAT GUY THAT IS CURRENTLY FINANCIALLY STABLE WITH A HIGH TENDENCY TO INCREASE THAT FINANCE AS THE YEARS PROGRESSES. In the current financial realities on ground, be earning, at the very least 150k (give or take), hv a job/buisness that can atleast double that revenue in say, every 5yrs ... oh, and I am refering to those under 30. The requirements change as the age increases. Ladies and gents, that is potential for you. ![]() |
So... having observed deductions on my account for SMS alerts, I wrote to my bank to inquire why I still get the deductions even after I expressly requested for only mail alerts. Reasons being that I get my mails, smtimes even before my SMSes, coupled with the fact that I am currently not in the country and hence my number not in service. Further more, my online banking is sufficient for me to track my transactions. But to my utmost surprise, I was informed that the CBN has made SMS alerts mandatory for every account. MY QUESTION AND ANNOYANCE IS... WHY SHLD SMS ALERT BE MADE MANDATORY? Attached is the mail I got frm my bank

Drove for the first time at 14, pops beetle. (Just within the compound tho). I learnt hw to reverse first, and turning angles was what interested me most. Continued with my honda C75 bike (loved that bike... had it frm abt 10yrs) for another year plus. At 16 tho, became designated official house driver. It actually became a borden, frm my sisters to my mum, frm going to the market, to picking my aunts and uncles up frm the park. First intrastate at 20, first interstate at 25. Lokoja - abuja road it was, and yrs later, I still dread that stretch of highway. |
I really dnt say anything befor I pick my calls.... I usually play a game of guessing the caller in my head befor I chk it.... makes me smile whenever I am right.. (and I am almost always right. Pops: pick immediately and.. " goodevening sir" ( Its always evening) Boss: I take a deep breath, *official voice* let it ring for abt 5secs then " Goodday sir" Chic: Look at it.. let it ring for abt 7 to 10 secs, take a deep breath then..*Deep voice*.. "Hello Evelyn" My guys.. "Hey sup" Unknown number.. let it ring for abt 10 secs then * formal voice... Hello goodday |
Debonair01: Y'all can say what you like... but deep in ur heart i knw it just kind of feels "uncomfortable" seeing ur president bare foot. I dnt really care what he does in "his house", but please just spare me the sight. Pictures shldnt be taken is such informal settings for nigerians to see. As a president, leader, pastor, MD, you need to be careful the kind of image u let ur subjects see. Some may call it pretence, but i say..... its a necessary and integral part of leadership to manage the kind of image u portray, that every image must serve its purpose (of which i think this one serves no positive purpose). This includes how you laugh, stand, talk, dress. As long as it is going to be in the glare of ur subjects, either through pictures or whatever... please cut the excesses.WORD!! |
Hi.. sup guys, I use a note 2 also, been using it since 2012 like a mnth after it was released. I can authoritatively say its one of the best phones I ever used, and I still do recommend it to whoever wnts to go for it On a different note, the note 4 and iphone 6 are to be realeased in just a little over a mnth, I think both phones wld be mad. SGN 4, I believe is coming with a new design (was disappointed in note 3... I cldnt justify an upgrade). Anyways, sgn2 users, do u see urself upgrading to note 4? For me....Even without much to go by, I am really excited for september. If they pull another S5 stunt tho (not up to expectation) then I am officially done with sammy and embracing the iphone 6, atleast I am quite certain that wld hv premium build, with the bigger screen fulfilling all my fantasies. |
Missy89: so we should just take your word for it without adequate evidence or proof?yeah... does sound like a good idea from where i am seated , but then again, the premise for my argument (article not being bull in its entirety) already did shed some light on the religious angle, of which i do agree with. Inertly, the muslim sees the Jew as infidels that need not be let to exist and the jews see the muslim in same light, and occupation, domination or attacks are not taken any less lightly. Alliances at different points in history between the muslim Arab world and the jew Isreal has been bore mainly out of necessity and filled with distrust, hence a breakdown in most of such alliances. Finally, i got quite a number of Arab friends and their dislike and distrust for anything Jewish (and/or christian for that matter) isn't just humanitarian, i can tell you for sure. |
Missy89: so in short you are back peddling , trying to deflect and attempting to change the context after saying this :Call it back peddling or re-edit (I axtually did that to my initial post) and i am pretty sure u didnt understand what i said as religion being the only sentiment. I still hold that religion plays A role in that conflict. As much as I wld hv loved to give historic and other causes or contributing reasons or roles the reasons play (played or playing) in the conflict, I do not intend to (or hv the capacity to, for that matter) But one thing I am certain of, the article isnt "bull" (as u called it) in its entirety, just like alot of other articles or news on the conflict |
Granted, the cause, nature, direction and even resolution of the conflict is way more complicated than just pinning it down on a single point. I still strongly believe that non of these reasons can be treated in isolation. |
Missy89: If it was religious why didn't the Jordanians grant Palestine its independence between 1946-67?We may go down history lane on the middle east as much as u like, but that doesn't negate the fact that ONE of the underlying issues in the isreali - Palestinian conflict is religion. Note that I didnt say (and I believe the autor of the article) it is the only underlying issue, but if u honestly can say religion plays no role whatsoever in the conflict... I pray u say so |
Ehmmm MrBrown, I am composing a roboust reply plz ( ) one that can not be typed on my mobile nor in motion, getting to my pc soon. But my reply to missy89 was due to the fact that she outrightly discourages pple frm reading because the points raised are "bull". that I do not agree, even tho I dnt necessarily agree with every sentence of the article. Brb |
Missy89: Lol. Getting emotional and using ad homien attacks doesn't make you right and wont intimidate anyone. twosquare: 2. Why does everyone keep saying this is not a religious conflict?Sorry, what is wrong about 2, 5 and 6? 6. Isreal takes better care of its pple and hamas takes care that her pple are killed? What do u think is hammases war tactics? Especially when they knw that barely any rocket drops in isreal? In all honesty, if I were hamas, I wld mostlikely do same thing to attract sympathy. Just like provoking ur bully and allowing the bully beat u up esp when pple are watching 5. What is wrong with that, what is one of hamases main requirement if not to end the occupation, or was the reference to 2005 incident wrong? Isreal started moving, and hamas started building tunnels and stocking rockets 4. If u dnt knw that (one of - edited) the main underlying sentiments is religious, them my dear, I hv nothing to tell u. |
Missy89: Pure bull with lots of Junk in it.I think u are an evil and wicked person! Your kind of pple hv made the world as bad as it is. For one, if u think the write up has alot of junk in it (which, if u think u intelligent enough shld point out), that was because u read it. WHY THEN ADVICE OTHERS NOT TO READ IT? I dnt just understand ur type. The article, as far as I an consigned is one of the most unbiased once I hv read in a long time. It says it exactly as it is. That both sides are right in their own rights at the same time wrong in other lights. In as much as he did not profer any solution to the problem, he atleast did analyse the issues well. I challenge you to point out all the "pure bull with lots of crap" you just talked about. PS: if u going to come here based on sentiments drawn frm the images of wounded and killed women and children in gaza, then just dnt bother, because I already knw ur type. |
osi2345: Hey.. I think u don't quite undastand dis fight. Its not a religious fight, but d isreali are not right at all.. lemme give u a little task. Go look at d map of Gaza, it's a part of palestine literily inside isreal. Isreal is controllin deir borders and dictatin wha goes in and out of it (for an independent contry), common.. wld u allow dat to b done to u.. it's plane victimization... watch Aljazeera properly, u'd see Hamas' demands, it make sense...Do u knw why isreal controls what goes in and comes out? Bcoz if not arms and the likes wld be brought in. Just like blaming Cameron if the close the bothers with Bornu then boko haram starts complaining of been looked out. (Scenerio not exact, but .. guess u get) Granted, some lands might actually belong to Palestine, but tell me this, if a big and strong bully in ur village takes ur land, do u just go fight, even knowing he will beat u blue black?.. NO, wisdom wld tell u to either plan to be stronger, or pursue other avenues like keep campaigning to the village elders or smthing. Finally the distrust between isreal and Palestine has been for like for ever, Palestinians wld not hesitate to nuke the entire isreal and isreal knws that... hence they not taking chances. Ps: in all honesty, demands by both sides can never be met equally and satisfactorily, thats why the international comunity just keeps asking for cease fire. And hope they run out of power befor the next face up |
madridguy: Israel killed more than 600 civilians.Wait oh... ler me get this straight, sm country starts a war with a superior country, but when it gets hot, thsy beginning to call on the whole world to help. Why dnt they face it rhemselves? And if that whole world intervains, the stupid hammas wld not agree (I call them stupid becoz they trying to fight a stronger force) Talking of the media, Watch Aljazera for 1 week then come back here and tell me if u see them for once show frm behind the isreali. As much as I sympathise with the Palestinian kids and women, I blame them for their woes. Dnt ever enter a fight u cnt win hoping that pple wld come and separate. Na one day them no go come...heheh |
hazekctravels: The building is painted, nothing else has changed, the rail tracks has not been extended one bit...I am saying, fot both pictures to be different but yet OP claims they just different views kind of casts alot of doubts on his authenticity, dnt you think so? CAN SMONE PLZ UPDATE US PROPERLY AND HONESTLY WHAT IS GOING ON THERE PLZZZZZ? |
hazekctravels: Wat dey showed u was dis (1st pics)Ps... looking at those two pictures closely, u will notice the yellow painted building in one and not the other. You will also notice the barbed wire not in the second. It just simply means the two pictures were taken at different times. PS: Can smone in PH really confirm whether or not the project has progressed passed what the OP has posted? If the OP is trying to misslead us... plz Mods shld do the needful. |
Now.. I am beginning to knw hw fo..olish my Nigerian brothers are. 1st: I dislike both APC and PDP.. 2nd: the governor started the project when he was pdp so why blame apc? 3rd: Were the first pictures officially realeased by the state govt? 4th: I think Nigeria needs to start sanctioning blogs (nairaland included) that carry junk messages. Come to even think of it sef, when did blogs start being our source of confirmed news? Finally, on the monorail project, I dnt knw the exact arrangements, if its just a 3km, then its a shame. But if 3km is the first phase of a much grand ph monorail system, then I think it wld make some sense, thats if subsequent govts can keep building on it. The tracks and stations can easily be extended if there is a good master plan on ground. |
.. Hamas is fighting a different kind of war this time arnd, and a very wicked one too. Using their pple (wome and children) as human shields to draw sympathy to themselves. If you are following the current offensive, isreal always announces befor most places are bombed. Telling occupants to move to some other suggested places. But hamas forces them to remain there so that they can get killed or injured. Hammas even goes aheard to tempt the Isreali by firing frm places where women and children are. The international community knws this, thats why they kind of quiet for now. |
faithugo64: 76.6 million?God is great. I claim this miracle moneyPlz dnt take this the wrong way, but why/how can u claim "this miracle money"? Unlike you.. the guy put in several years of hard work and late nights. What efforts hv u made that u are claiming the "miracle money"? I feel it is dubious on ur part to trivialise smones years of labour so. |
With sorrow in my heart and a heavy heart, I wish to highlight how stupid the average nigerian is. This is evident in the comments so far. Anybody that thinks any particular political party is responsible for bokoharam on the grand scale is either a fool or simply an idiot. Having said that... it shld be noted that most of the pple in either of pdp or apc were at sm point in cohort with the other party. Let me give a simple test. 1. If you read any of these stories and find a need to blame one political party or another, then ur poverty and stupidity as a dumb follower is far frm over 2. But if u read them and smile, knowing it is just a tactics by the political class to keep the gullible followers confused, one party blaming another, then ur redemption and libration is here. individuals that are constantly in cohort go on the pages of the news paper to rant, just for foolish nigerians here to be foaming in the mouth..... I can bet u that the apc spokes man and FFK wld most likely be in same club somewhere, will seat together and drink and eat point and kill with nigerias money while all d time laughing at the peoples stupidity |
quid: hmm.. . . . okHe was going to be removed sooner or later. I can asure you tho... that his offense was not complaining about missing funds, but the complaint being made public (either by sanusis doing or not). Agencies and ministries hv issues all the time, financial issues, management issues.. etc. They all usually petition the presidency to intervene. The problem is even worst with our security agencies, everybody wnts to take the glory. Police, DSS, Army, airforce, even civil defense. Its generally very disgusting hw these govt bodies try to undermine themselves. |
quid: You know nothing but rumoursCall it whatever you may, take it or leave it...but trust me when I say this... I am speaking frm a VERY informed position. And by d way, im sure u part of those benefiting frm the rot in the system, so u will definitly always "look the other way". |
I thing I knw for sure, is that sm monies were not accounted for by NNPC as at when sanusi wrote to the president. Maybe not necessarily stolen yet, but with definite intentions of doing so. Knowing how all govt ministries, agencies and parastatal work in Nigeria, every body wnts to short change every other body. My major problem is with the president. When the issue was brought to his attention, knowing fully well hw his ministries operate, all he wld hv done was to instruct them to go reconcile their accounts and report back to him. HOW DIFFICULT CAN THAT BE? No, he had to sleep on it, like how he does every situation in this country until it blows out of proportion. WHAT IS REALLY WRONG WITH THAT MAN SEF? is he simply overwhelmed or he does these bluffs on purpose? |
The topic reminds me alot of my childhood. Grew up in som rural community so we didnt hv traffic and all. We had a rule in the house, which my dad place. (It still holds in my house today, even as a grown man). NO MEMBER OF THE FAMILY DRIVES HOME WITH HEAD LAMPS. In otherwords, we must all be home befor dark. And then a second rule, Pops must be informed of everybody's whereabout. Mumsy didnt like it much, but she always had to obey. She always fixes all her visits, womens meetings, office events to end befor 7pm. (Ps: popsy is always hone by 4pm by the way.) So, to the topic, I say yes, I might not call it a curfew or it will not be set in stone, but I will expect to always know the whereabout of my wife and expect her to be back home at a decent hr. It also depends on a number of factors, where does she work, what town do we live in, etc etc. The rule wld also apply to me. It is more of a safety and responsibility issue rather than distrust. She and my kids will always knw where their papa is, and nights in which he will be coming home late. |
Articul8: God's direction. If u av it,u'l never miss it in life... if I may, plz..... why do u feel you dnt already hv it. Abi you expecting an express instruction or manual. Maybe u try a babalawo...lol Sometimes we christians baffel me. We go to church every sunday, we pray, we fast, we study the bible for years and yet we fail to understand the true christian living. Sometimes, even the way we pray surprises me too. (Gist for another topic, I guess) For me tho.. one thing Want (all my needs are already being met) is a BETTER NIGERIA. My "better" actually cuts across all sectors (electricity, good/cheap housing, good jobs, good roads, cheap internet, good education. .etc etc) |
Abel202: [b]My dear, the point am trying to make is that whether the Nigerians in Malaysia are realy the culprits or not, until there is a valid investigation that proves such, then all this write up is mere speculation. Until they are able to prove that these crimes are being committed by mostly Nigerians, then these are mere speculations.Generally I really dnt care about what pple say about me, believing that when the fruits manifest, it shall be open for all to see. Truely the statistics might not be exactly on point, but trust me when I say thing, nigerians in malaysia are bearing fruits... bad fruits and its evident for all to see. Agree with the article or not. On a different note, ur grand "nigerians are smart" gesture reminds me of that kid in primary school that always cheats in exams but is never caught hence always passes well, yet he cannot string a complete sentence together. 20yrs down the line, u run into him in obalende and those same strings for the sentences are still missing. What am I saying, we keep messing malaysia up until they are fed up and chase every nigerian there away. (Ps: they already chasing some and killing others) and not forgeting that malaysia is already almost a developed nation. Finally we will come back to our rotten country. |
... On a different note, I still keep wondering what the Nigerian con men do with their cash. I mean, if I had 30millon naira, by God, its just a matter of time befor my name becomes house hold. I mean, I see guys spend millions in clubs, but very few investments by young men. Was at KL sm time last year.... sitting and looking at the Nigerians there, I just wonder. Looking dirty, unkept and high. I guess ill gotten money can only bring one ill luck. They party, they drink, they womanize, at best, buy cars and move into a Behind condo, then after few mnths they kicked out and are back on the streets. Its just sad |
Abel202: [b]My people,You raised some valid points, but then again it the typical Nigeria way. Fault truths told just for our own gain. I dnt knw if u ve ever been to Malaysia or u presently live there... if u do, then u will just read and acknowledge because out of every 10 Nigerians in Malaysia, 1 is doing phd, 2 doing masters and the other 7 are criminals. That is just the truth. |
WHEN i become the president of Nigeria, 1. Appoint my ministers/kitchen Cabinet. I shall appoint "crazy", "young", Vibrant, well schooled nigerians from all over he world. 2. THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT POINT..... I SHALL SHUT DOWN NIGERIA FOR A WEEK. I WILL MAKE TV AND RADIO BROADCASTS, EVERYDAY FOR THAT ONE WEEK. Marshal out my plans and practical "preach". Topic: sober refection as a nation and the way forward. (p.s: will be giving 5 mins broadcast every sunday morning for the entire duration of my tenure.) 3. Reconstitute ministry of information technology. Get the best brains in. programmers, DB managers, Security experts and for the next six mnths, if you are not captured and given a national security number, you can as well consider urself a non nigerian. Database shall reside in this nation, with one back in each geopolitical zone. A grand and robust ERP upon which the police, banks, hospitals etc shall be granted appropriate rights/clearance. 4. WAR AGAINST INDISCIPLINE: You shall be arrested, you shall be jailed if u as much as see filth on the street and not pick it up, talk less of drop one. you must queue up for buses and trains, I shall out law haggling (pricing and shouting in the market place-it breeds a poverty mentality) we are not animals and as such shall not behave like one. In other words, even the market places shall be quiet and decent. 5. Power. I am actually assuming power outage wld be a thing of the past by then, else, it shall be resolved. 6. Overhaul the public/civil service. 7. I think the above 6 agenda wld at least put us on a strong pedestal for future governments. Every other thing shall be given attention, but not nearly as much as the once i have listed above. THIS IS MY OPINION!!! |
pheesayor: The bolded is what government over the years have ignored, you CAN'T eradicate campus cultism with the kind of root is has grown (even outside school to residential areas). Let them be registered, their members known so whenever there are issues, you know who to tackle. But no, government keeps living in denial because these cultists (the violent ones) are useful to them from time to time.I totally agree... government has a way of benefiting frm alot of these vices. Its very sad tho... but if Nigeria will ever grow and get better, gov need to hv more sincerity of purpose. |
Funny thing tho.. if you wnt to blame anyone, I guess u shld blame God...lol Seriously tho. . It is, and will always be in the human nature to wnt to be associated, to dominate, to hv sm sort of "sacred-ness". If you hv ever attended any decision making meeting befor, especially being a member of a small group late at night, you will understand. Frm a special church comitee membership, to a political party caucus or to a school comitee. Everybody hv the inate craving to wnt to be amongst an "elite" group. To yield power (ask our politicians) Fraternities exit all over the world, different motives tho. But with the underlying aim to dominate and to be shapers and directors. Cultism in our high institutions same as a lot of vices in nigeria cannot hv a single blancket reason. But on the face of it.. I will atribute it to the high level of INDISCIPLINE in Nigeria. Parents are bad examples to their kids, politicians are no better. We hv all sacrificed dignity, responsibility, dedication, love for our fellow man on the alter of greed, pride, fame, furtune and oppression. Christian dislike/distrust muslims and muslims with equal passion against christians. Opposing Political parties hating and killing one another and the gov? Continiously f**king the citizens. These traits rub off on our kids and they grow, get to high institutions and are no different. Finally, in my opinion to solve the cultism issue on our campuses, cultism (fraternities) need to be legalised. It shld be registered on campus, members shld be known, and then held responsible for any of their actions. Pple generally tend to drift towards things wrong, things outlawed, things considered secrets. Let every one be free to associate, so long as they are ready to be identified and held responsible for their actions. |

, but then again, the premise for my argument (article not being bull in its entirety) already did shed some light on the religious angle, of which i do agree with.
