Investment / Stock Market: A Rally You Must Not Miss by Born2beRich1(m): 8:52am On Jun 13, 2013 |
Trading in different environments require the usual due diligence and as such, most investors need to remember to keep a very close eye on what their chosen market index does. The equities' rally witnessed in recent time has left the Nigerian stock market sitting at a height not seen since the bubble burst in 2008. Such landmark is not limited to the Nigerian market alone as markets elsewhere have witnessed marked upswings with many witnessing near five-year high despite wider economic gloom. The appetite for equities is feasible for further increase, as they are currently yielding more than their alternatives. Bond yields are still depressed. This is fuelled by unprecedented quantitative easing while the precious metal gold is also not in the good records of investors at present as it has so far recorded -17.8% loss in 2013 with silver recording a higher loss figure at -28.4%. The Nigerian Stock Exchange Market CAP recently hit its 2008 peak at N12.6 trillion after some days of bulls rally. The FTSE 100 also reached its highest point since late 2000 after closing up while other indices like NASDAQ and Dow Jones earlier in the year, have equally attained their all time high. A closer look at the performance of key stock markets of the G7countries, BRICs and Africa stock markets reveal that the Japanese Nikkei led the G7 with +27.84% YTD gains and closely followed by NASDAQ and German DAX with +16.10% and +8.01% YTD gains respectively. Nigerian Stock Market led the African exchanges with +42.50% YTD gain as BRVM and Kenya market takes second and third with +34.29% and +32.03% gains respectively while the BRICs countries all recorded negative YTD returns. Religion / Man Commits Suicide In Church Premises by Born2beRich1(m): 8:30am On Jun 11, 2013 |
ABEOKUTA — A 67-year-old church guard identified as Matthew Isidahume, yesterday, reportedly committed suicide with his lifeless body found dangling within the premises of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Gbagura, Ago- Oka, in Abeokuta North Local Government of Ogun State. Vanguard learnt that members of the church who converged for the morning prayers discovered the corpse of the deceased where he allegedly hung himself. When Vanguard visited the scene, men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and some policemen were seen at the place. Contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the incident said three guards were supposed to be on duty when the incident happened. Adejobi said: “The deceased left a suicide note which is currently assisting us in our investigation, but the command will do a thorough job toward getting to the bottom of the matter.” However, a member of the church council, who identified himself as Adekunle Adegoke, said the deceased was the church’s night-guard, adding that those who came for the morning prayer meeting met the gate locked and waited for about 30 minutes thinking the late Matthew was busy. He said: “When there was no trace of him, the people decided to push a small boy across the fence and the boy later returned with the sad news that Matthew had hung himself. “Really, if you see him, the first thought will be that there was a sort of complex issue, probably there is a foul play. But looking closely you will see his footprints on the generator which showed that he climbed, tied something on his neck and then jumped.” Source: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/06/church-guard-commits-suicide/ |

A-ZeD: 1. Do you know that there were better candidates available for that post? 2. You also say that the husband might be aware of it..Are you the husband Infact, if the husband is aware or not does not justify the accused here. 3. Nobody is judging anybody here but what sls did is wrong and we have every right to kick against it. 2 Likes |

A-ZeD: The only problem you have would have been if sls was spending public fund on this woman? what about he appointing an unqualified candidate to take up a high profile job role in the CBN? what about sls sleeping with another man's wife to the extent that he arranged a hotel for her and dealt with her all night long while the husband is at home thinking that his wife travelled for official assignment what about the people that beleieve that sls was a proper role model that has a very high integrity.. I know nobody is above mistake but if this was in the U.S either he would resign or he would get the sack. Learn from the past president of world bank that resigned becos he promoted his girl friend to a very high position in the coy. NB: i dont have any personnal beef with sanusi but a spade has to be called a spade..period. 4 Likes |

A-ZeD: NISRAL- Nigeria Incentive-based Risk Sharing Systems For Agricultural Lending ^^^ she was recommended from here and you are justifying the claim and painting sls to be innocent. BTW you are the one that didnt read the news to be supporting sls for going out with another man's wife claiming that he is a muslim. ANyways, sanusi must have stepped on some political toes for this to happen SMH. 2 Likes |

A-ZeD: Why are Nigerians like this Lord have mercy. What do a minister of agriculture know about banking that she will recommend someone to SLS to take up a high profile job in the CBN? If it was the minister of finance i will say its okay, but minister of agriculture? bros abeg wake up. By the way is it in muslim tradition for a man to marry married women Also when sls was taking up appointment in CBN as governor was there any muslim oath taken as well..SMH **folds hands behind back and walks away** 5 Likes |

Policewoman: AND SO BLOODY WHAT? As a muslim he is entitled to 4 wives, so people should mind their business I didnt want to post anything concerning this issue until i saw this post that kept me wondering when nigerians will wake up from their hullicinations. WHen sanusi took up the oath in office as the CBN director did he take it up as a muslim or as a qualified individual for the post that will take the CBN to the next level It is very wrong and offensive when a CBN governor abuses his post to be employing his girlfriends or promoting his secret lovers( married and unmarried) that arent worthy of that post in office..Take a lesson from the past world bank president that was accused of promoting his office girl friend to a very high post that she wasnt qualified for... Guess what? he had to resign becos of it. If this is true Mr sanusi is in deep mess but this is Nigeria, if Ifeayin uba and other subsidy criminals are roaming free then it will be easy for sanusi all he has to do is to appease the gods in politics. 34 Likes |
