The Bauchi State Police Command have arrested 35-year-old Ismail Yusuf, a self-confessed gay man who broke into a house at Rariya Quarters, Bauchi, around 1a.m, to rape an occupant.


The gay man who voluntarily confessed to the crime, broke into the house on the 13th of August, 2018 to rape one Haruna Banki, however he was arrested after the police were alerted. The suspect who was paraded, yesterday, alongside another suspect arrested for being in possession of stolen properties, also confessed to being in the rape act for very long time.

Days ago, the story of a Benue mother who had sex with her son so she could have kids for her husband shocked Nigerians. But her case is not the first of its kind.

There have been stories of mothers who got married to their sons on other continents, especially in the western world. Surprisingly, some African mothers have also engaged incest and took it further by marrying their sons or having kids by them.

One Malawian mother married her son because she spent so much to train him and she didn't want those "other women who have been aborting" to come and enjoy her hard work.

Below are some mothers who got married to and/or were impregnated by their sons.

1. Memory Njemani

According to Zambian observer, Ms Njemani said;
"I invested a lot of money in the education of my son. Why should another woman be married to him and enjoy my hard work I invested in him? That will not happen. I’m marrying my son so that we don’t empower other women who have been aborting."

The two have since married and are staying together.

2. Betty Mbereko

In 2014, the story of Betty Mbereko, a Zimbabwean mother who got married to her son and got pregnant for him, shocked the world.

Betty, 40 at the time, who had been widowed for 12 years, married her son Farai Mbereko, 23 at the time,
Ms Mbereko, who was 6 months pregnant for her son at the time they got married, said she decided it is better to marry her son because she does not want to marry her late husband’s young brothers, whom she says have been coveting her. She told the village court that the affair with her son had begun three years earlier.

According to Zimbabwe Mail, she told the village court council;
"Look, I strove alone to send my son to school and no one helped me. Now you see that my son is working and you accuse me of doing something wrong. Let me enjoy the products of my sweat.".

Mrs. Mbereko’s son/husband said he was more than prepared to marry his mother and would pay off the bride price balance his father had left unpaid to his grandparents.

He said;
"I know my father died before he finished paying the bride price and I am prepared to pay it off. It is better to publicise what is happening because people should know that I am the one who made my mother pregnant."

The village court asked them to immediately break off their marriage or leave his village. They chose the latter and have since left the village for an undisclosed destination.

3. Mrs. Veronica Iorshe

Veronica Iorshe, 47, from Benue state, is currently pregnant with her 26-year-old son's child after she lured him to have sex with her for two months because she wanted a son for her husband.

She eventually got pregnant but her husband refused to accept responsibility and drove her away.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested by police operatives in Ogun state over the death of a 40-year-old married woman after they allegedly had sex.

According to Ogun Police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect was taken into custody on Wednesday following a complaint by an hospital.

“Men of Ogun State Police Command have on Wednesday the 15th of August arrested one Kelvin Micheal ‘m’ 28yrs old over the death of a 40yrs old woman Monsurat Idowu ‘f’ after a marathon sex’,” Mr Oyeyemi said.

He said the suspect who took the deceased to State Hospital, Ota, could not explain the circumstance of her death.

“The arrest of the suspect was as a result of complaint by one Benjamin Okereke of the State hospital Ota who reported that the suspect brought the deceased to the hospital dead, and since he cannot explain the circumstance that surrounded the death of the deceased, he decided to notify the Police,” he said.

Mr Oyeyemi said upon the report, the Divisional Police Officer of Onipanu Division, Sangobiyi Johnson, led his officers to the hospital where the man was promptly arrested.

“On interrogation, the suspect claimed to have met the deceased last month in a bus at Ketu, Lagos where they exchanged phone numbers, consequent upon which he invited her to the house of his friend in Ota where the deceased suddenly slumped and died shortly after they finished having sexual intercourse.”

He said the husband of the deceased, Idowu Lamidi, a commercial driver who was quickly contacted, told the police that he left his wife in the house hale and hearty while going out for work, wondering what led to her untimely death.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the transfer of the case to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for investigation; while the corpse has been deposited at the mortuary for post mortem examination.

The muscled man who is said to be the strongest man in Nigeria, has revealed his "secret".  Oluwatofunmi Fadesire represented Nigeria at the 2018 edition bodybuilding competition, The World's Strongest Man (WSM). He was the country's flag bearer at the competition.

Oluwatofunmi popularly known 'Olu Strong', who works as a bodyguard for high profile individuals in Nigeria, took to his social media page (Instagram) to say that pounded yam and Egusi soup is the secret.

Born of the August 18, 1988 Tofunmi revealed that he fell in love with the strongman competition at an early age.

His weight is estimated at 123 kilogrammes and his height is at 181cm, 5feet 11 inches.

Born and raised in Lagos, he attended Maryland secondary school for his early education and obtained a diploma in security from the University of Lagos.

Youths, under the aegis of One Million Youths for New Rivers State, held a massive rally today in Port-Harcourt, the state capital, after endorsing Governor Nyesom Wike for re-election in 2019. 

The leadership of 1millionYouths4NewRivers, Him. Ehie Edison, Hon. Asuah Mensah Jack and others, dressed as old school teachers with canes as they said they are "flogging" members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) out of the area because the state belongs to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). 

The youths in their hundreds, who stormed the city of Port Harcourt from the 23 local government areas of the state, said they had adopted Wike as their sole candidate for the election. 

Speaking, Coordinator of the group and a member of Rivers State House of Assembly,  Edison Ehie, said the endorsement became necessary following the massive infrastructural development initiated by Wike across the state despite the economic meltdown.

Ehie said the reason for the call was to sustain the projects the governor has on ground, stressing that youths would ensure his re-election.
