Update from A history teacher in Anacapa Middle School in Ventura, Southern California has been fired as she reportedly told students that Donald Trump remains president of the US and also repeated COVID-related conspiracy theories doesn’t work at the school anymore. Her claims, which were captured in a seven-minute recording in October, were reported last week by CBS Los Angeles. The teacher also claimed President Joe Biden's son Hunter was having sexual intercourse with his own niece. The teacher has expressed "deep remorse" for the remarks she made in class, the VC Star reported. “Hunter Biden, for example, is doing deals with China and Ukraine where he was funneling money illegally,” the teacher allegedly said in the recording. “He also had child pornography on his laptop. He was having sexual intercourse with his own niece.” The teacher also reportedly told students that 'hospitals don’t want to return babies to parents who aren’t vaccinated' A woman, Sarah Silikula said her son, who recorded the teacher’s remarks, told his parents that he believed “teachers know everything.” “He announced, ‘I’m never getting vaccinated. I’m never getting any more shots of any kind. Did you know Trump’s still president?’ ” Silikula told CBS Los Angeles. As at press time the school didn't confirm why it sacked the teacher but reports say the teacher was relieved of her duties after school management watched her video and heard from students. https:///school-teacher-fired-for-claiming-that-trump-is-still-president-of-usa/

Update from Athletes from Cambridge University, England have been revealed naked in a viral photoshoot as they stripped off to pose for their 2021 calendar. The raunchy pictures are part of an annual tradition at the University. This year's photoshoot saw 78 students from 12 teams bare all as they posed in the city's world famous sites completely naked. People from the netball, gymnastics and American football teams were among the students that used equipment from their sports to cover up all their private parts. One photograph shows a tennis player covering his crotch with a set of four balls outside Cambridge's Earth Science Museum. Photographer Andrew Wilkinson said that it took fine margins to arrange each picture, Mail Online reports. The students posed at various spots, including the Grantchester Meadows and the university's archaeology museum, Siggy reports. They also took a "dry run" in clothes to practise their poses before they stripped off for the nude photo shoots, which lasted around 15 minutes. Andrew stressed they were careful not to cause any offence with their nudity, although they reportedly did get caught a few times by red-faced dog walkers. He said: "The window of opportunity to take the photos was relatively short. "We were a little anxious about being outside because we didn't want to cause any offence. "We had a few runners and dog walkers come by - some didn't know where to look." The annual Cambridge Blues Naked Calendar is set to go on sale later this month. Cambridge University's Raising and Giving society says any proceeds will go to four charities: Jimmy's Cambridge, Teenage Cancer Trust, Student Minds and Rainforest Trust. https:///cambridge-university-students-strip-naked-for-racy-calendar-photoshoot-photos/

Update from Two secondary school girls of Odewale Community High School, Ojurin Agbado in Ogun State who were kidnapped on Friday on their way to school, have narrated how they escaped from the kidnappers' den and found themselves in Oyo town, Oyo State. The girls, 18-year-old Zainab Rafiu and 16-year-old Kehinde Adeogun explained that a gang of three hooded men parked beside them and ordered them to enter the car at gunpoint with AK-47 rifles. They said from that point they can not explain how they found themselves in the thick forest. Narrating their experiences, one of the girls, Kehinde said the kidnappers tied them to separate trees and threatened to kill them. “The kidnappers spoke to us in Yoruba and on getting to the forest tied us separately with ropes after which they left us and went away. “One of the kidnappers speaking in Yoruba said that our lives will soon end inside the bush. “I struggled to untie myself with my teeth, after which I untied my friend and we started running. We ran for more than two hours inside the forest “We finally got to the main road but we didn’t know where we were. “When we asked passersby, they told us the road was an expressway in Oyo town. “I felt relieved because I am an indigene of Oyo, but I don’t know how I could locate our family house. “The food vendor gave us her phone, I called my parents and Zainab’s parents. My father sent a relative’s number that I should call the person to come and pick us”. It was gathered that the relative, identified as Alhaji Ogunsola, picked the girls up and took them to the palace of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III. The monarch then ordered that the Directorate of State Service be informed of the development, while the abducted children are given food, a place to refresh and given medical attention due to the traumatic experience they had in the hands of the kidnappers. Vanguard learned that the monarch, had on Sunday, reunited the two girls to the younger brother to Kehinde’s father, to take them back to the Agbado crossing area of Ogun state. https:///two-school-girls-escape-from-kidnappers-den-in-ogun-state/

Update from Read Previous Thread : https://www.nairaland.com/6679402/17-year-old-student-stabs-teacher-death The widow of Job Dashe, a math teacher in Government Technical College Bukuru, Plateau State who was stabbed by a 17-year-old SS3 student of the school has lamented that justice has not been served over the death of her husband. The incident took place on the 30th of July,2021 at the school dining, during school hours. The widow, Mrs Akoti Job-Dashe had narrated what happened in an interview. “From what I was told,he (my husband) was on duty at the school dining hall together with one of his colleagues. And it was time for lunch and the SS3 students were the ones taking their lunch at the time. A student, who had earlier been served, came to collect another portion and when he was detected,my husband was trying to reprimand him for doing that. So, the boy got angry, went back to the hostel, picked a knife, came back and stabbed my husband to death..” she said. She had added that at the time the incident occurred, the case was reported to the police and thereafter moved to the DSS and later taken to court. She has however lamented that the case has not been attended as it ought to be. She has demanded justice to be served on the issue. “I need justice for my husband. He did not commit any crime. Given the circumstances that led to his death, what does the law say in a situation like this? Let the law take its course; let there be justice for my husband. And then, if government can provide a job for me with my qualifications I will appreciate it because I don’t have a job at the moment. I have a master’s in History and International Relations.” she said. The students should actually be called to book. That will serve as deterrent to others. More so, Schools put measures in place to avoid such occurrences as it is becoming a norm as students deal with teachers anyhow and go with it. https:///widow-of-teacher-murdered-by-ss3-student-cries-for-justice-three-months-later/

Update from A University of Nigeria NSUKKA (UNN) graduate, popularly known as Maazi Ogbonna, has shared his story how his classmate called him “poor boy” and later received the shock of his life. He narrated: "It was in Mbanefo Hostel that year in UNN. I put on this guy’s slippers to buy bread at the hostel canteen, owned by a certain old man we called Paapa. Paapa was known for his mischievous gbas gbos whenever students want to buy something. I always watched the direction of his mouth, the way he moved it simultaneously from one corner to the other. I bought bread and returned to my room. This guy I shared same room with, whom I wore his slippers yelled at me: “Never you insert your filthy legs into my slippers again. Am I the one who asked you to be poor?” I didn’t see that as an insult as I was used to the bully not from him alone, but others who felt they were better than me because their parents sent them money while I didn’t boast ever collecting money from anyone. I apologised for making the mistake of wearing his slippers. Those days, his father managed to send him 5k monthly, sometimes, once in 2 months. Then they saw themselves as the richest people on earth. They always called their parents for money. But Maazị was not calling anybody. Not that I didn’t have people to call and I wouldn’t see money but the stubborn Maazị decided to train himself. It was like a bet. You don’t want to study what we asked you to study, let’s see how you will do it. I took up the challenge and said to myself: “Boy, if it’s biscuit, eat it. You don’t need anybody. You can do it”. Secondly, I didn’t want anyone to take credit and glory, if eventually I find my feet. I didn’t want to be at the mercy of anyone and be toss around. I didn’t want anyone to say: “if not because of me, Maazị wouldn’t have been anything in life. I made him. I trained him in school”. I am that stubborn and my self confidence can be annoying. Broke boy with pride. Very arrogant boy. What else? “Did your family disown you or are you that poor?”, the same boy would mock. I was a very quiet boy who did his thing on low key. I started talking about myself recently after I have engraved my name in the world of Igbo literature. Let me not digress…. Just that week, I traveled and returned with something. I was a very careless person. I could drop something anywhere and forget about it. That was the major worry of my mum when I went to school. Oh, she went for an ọmụgwọ; the next she could hear was that her son was already in Nsụka. Who is training him? Nobody. Nwatakịrị 18 years. He left home. Stubborn boy. I returned with a cheque of ₦160,000 to the hostel. I had been returning with cheques but nobody in the hostel knew. I mistakenly dropped the cheque on the table and went to take my bath. The boy first entered the room and saw it. It’s a lie. He had to wash his face to see clearly whose name was written on the cheque. Ọ fụnụgokwanụ that amount in his life when UNN school fees was around 30-31k and his father paid directly. He was telling others in the room that this boy they had been talking down on had a cheque worth 160k. I returned from the bathroom when I saw them greeting me. This was bizarre. Something was wrong somewhere. The boy handed the cheque to me with two hands: “Oh this.Thank you”, I said. I collected the cheque and out I went to Fidelity Bank located adjacent Isa Kaita Hostel. I cashed it out, ran to Diamond bank and sent the money to a publisher to publish my other manuscript These boys were addressing me as a poor boy even when I could train them in school because hustle don dey pay that time. With 160k I could pay his 4 years school fees and still have change. But mmadụ anọghị na competition. The boy hated me because he thought he was better than me. I can’t even say what I experienced from him. He always called me a poor boy. I didn’t listen to any distraction. I struggled until I began to write for about 3 publishing companies. I met them myself and sold myself. I bragged before them about what I could do. They saw it. I could deliver. But you wouldn’t hear anything about me then. I was silently investing for the future. I used the money I made to publish more books because I planned to retire at the age of 25. That conviction made me to double my hustle. Nigerians were still reading books then. So I invested heavily on books and publishing. I was making money then too unlike now nobody read books. Fast forward to when I left the hostel. I remember buying a lady’s motorcycle which I used to cruise Nsụka and run my research everywhere. Just in a space of 2 months the boy said he wasn’t responsible for my poverty. We had finished a lecture at Annex building. Someone was sitting on my bike and I needed to get to my department to meet Professor Nwadike over a book I was to co-write with him. “Excuse me please”, I said to the guy sitting on my bike. It turned out to be the same guy who asked me if he was the one who asked me to be poor. He turned and saw me, then shocked. From my dressing, ikuku ndụ ekuwela. “Maazị! Is this you? Whose bike? You have bike?” Then Yahoo boys never start to buy cars and there was nothing like Yahoo amongst university students. At least onye nwere bike ka sokwa n’ihe a na-arụ. Keep asking question. Gbatuo ọsịsọ ka m buru ụgbọ m narie. Papa gị na-enye gị 5k ị bịa ịkọ m ọnụ. I said to myself. He was standing, looking at me in confusion with his friends. I saddled on the motorcycle, put the key inside, turned it right-ways. Ọ kpọghego. M zọọ the machine, held the handle nyesie ya ọkụ ike: Vuuuuuuuuuum! The sound now reduced to tịm tịm tịm because my mechanic rụsịrị ya ọrụ ike. As the machine was vibrating in his presence, m kpọnye ụkwụ m na gear, o mee kpụm…. Maazị narie ooo…. As I left, he paused, I paused; both of us paused. https:///unn-graduate-narrates-his-from-grass-to-grace-true-life-story/
