Ace Nigerian music producer, Michael Collins Ajereh aka Don Jazzy has donated the sum of N1.5 million to enable 100 young Nigerians learn how to code.

The Mavin records boss made the donation following an appeal by the Founder of Code Hub Africa, Chizom Echehieuka that he (Jazzy) should sponsor 100 youths for the programme which costs N15k per person.

”Dear @DONJAZZY Please would you like to sponsor 100 Nigerian youths to learn how to code at our online mentorship program (Code Hub Africa Tech). It’s 15k per person. Thank you.

Please tag Rihanna’s boyfriend if you want to be part of this sponsorship,” Chizom wrote.

On seeing the post, Don Jazzy, swiftly sent the N1.5 million into the Tech firm founder’s account and said that he should select serious students.

He tweeted; ”Ok boss. Just sent 1.5Million Naira to your Vbank account.”

On his part, Chizom expressed gratitude and said the selected students would make Nigeria proud.

”Baba Don Jazzy, God bless you. The Mentees go make Nigeria proud. History will not forget you baba,” he replied.

Don Jazzy then shared screenshots to prove that the payment has been done and wrote;

”Pls pick serious students o. Here is the 1.5m”

A little school girl, Emauni Jeanise Manley is being celebrated for raising over $4,300 (N1.7 million) in cash to help her less-privileged classmates pay for the lunches they couldn’t afford it.

She carried out the act as a 7-year-old second-grader in Charles County, Maryland in the United States of America.

The young girl told NBC that she noticed some of her classmates were having only cheese sandwiches in their lunch.

Jeanise teamed up with her mom, Rosalynd Manley after discovering that some her classmates wee not able to afford lunch.

She consulted with her mother, who is also a teacher in her school and they were able to raise funds on Facebook towards helping deprived kids in her school who couldn’t afford to pay for their lunch.

Their initiative received support from hundreds of people who donated money towards their project.

Exceeding expectations The duo initially targeted to raise $800 (N330k), but within a week, they raised over $4,300 (N1,7M), Total News 24 reports.

Manley became an author at the age of five. She is also a model and an entrepreneur with her own clothing line, EmauniJ Collection, a T-shirt line she designs herself.

A Nigerian youth corp member has recreated an epic throwback photo of his father from his National Youth Service Corps (NSYC) 30 years ago, Siggy reveals.

The young man who is currently doing his own youth service, decided to recreate a photo his father took in camp in 1991.

His dad had snapped an amazing picture of himself doing one of the Man-O-war drills at the NYSC orientation camp.

They had a striking resemblance which captured the attention of social media users.

Nigerian Soldiers have stormed Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) protesting ground to disperse students who are protesting against the arrest of their colleagues, including the Students’ Union president by the same soldiers, Siggy reveals.

The soldiers were said to have arrived in three armored tanks and two Hilux vehicles.

In a video which has gone viral, the protesting students chanted anti-oppression songs and dared the soldiers to “kill” them.

Recall Siggy reported that soldiers had on Thursday raided the varsity’s campus Thursday and allegedly brutalised and arrested the SUG president and some other students.

The students’ union in a statement by its Senate President, Moradeyo Johnson, and Chief Judge, Ayobami Kareem, claimed that some of the students were extorted.

It reads in part; “Uniformed men of Nigerian military invaded the students’ community of our dear university and melted absolute injustice, extortion, and assaults on peace-loving students.

“TASUEDITES who are going by their legitimate and calm businesses were cornered at CONOIL Filling Station, the Express Road that leads to the University second gate. They were arrested and assaulted for no reason. To make things worst, the soldiers asked students to bail themselves up with N50, 000 and those who could not do that were detained and taken away (most likely to the barrack).”

Something mysterious happened in the Geography department of Federal University Lokoja as two female students who are friends with the same names die on the same day, hours apart, Siggy reports.

Mary Mathias, a 400 level Geography student, died at FMC Lokoja of an undisclosed ailment early on Thursday, October 28.

Hours later, MaryJane Imaobong, a 300 level Geography student who had put up a post to mourn Mary Mathias, was involved in a fatal accident.

MaryJane Imaobong was on a bike at the Felele area of Lokoja, Kogi State, when the bike collided with a J5 lorry.
