The funny thing is that mobile games are moving stuff s slower rate than the hardwares available. I don't see a mobile game available out there that a phone with snapdragon 810 and 3gb of RAM will not handle flawlessly. Adding 8gb of RAM and calling it a gaming phone is an overkill, especially when there are no games to take advantage of the hardware.
Nah! In the world of Software Engineering, the biggest limitation is the hardware, especially when related to CPU intensive applications like games. More hardware means more explorable space for the game developer, and means better games, better gaming experience, better everything.

That's a good argument coming from someone selling drugs.

Hopefully a day of self introspection will come in your lives when you'll all sit down and ask yourselves why are we always known for drugs and other related offences.

Until then, keep defending the undefendable. Human prejudice and consummate pride will never let you accept your flaws.
I own a drugstore, you enter my drug store and lie that you have cough, I sell you a drug for cough, you abuse it, one of you illiterate professors starts yapping that I sell you drugs (which I rightly do), you come out to shamelessly spew shit off your schooled uneducated brain.

I'm sure you think you're educated. Because the focus is on drugs and how your people are a professional in this regards suddenly, anybody who speaks the truth becomes a liar to you.

Your education is faulty. I'd sue my school if I were you.
Let's not argue too much, basic economics tells you that demand determines supply. When there is demand, someone has to profit by filling the need.

Also, basic logical reasoning tells you most of those drugs are available over the counter, even if you want to dispute that, what about gum and soakaway gas, are the Igbo also the suppliers of that? Bro/bae, your education, just like Nigeria's current government, is a waste. Go kill all your teachers/lecturers.

Ok, then dats posible, but not possible with phone sim
Its actually possible with phone SIM, just that the SIM would be in a SIM hosting server, and your own webserver would determine what message the SIM should send.

I just dey laff vankaid wey talk say e no dey possible. Na Wetin I don do extensive research on early last year. Heck! I can even design a prototype SIM hosting server with a basic Arduino Kit. Impossible is nothing.

That was not to counter the OP. That was to counter the person who said its impossible to send SMS from a SIM online. That is the solution for the person that assumed the OP wanted to send SMS via SIM automatically.

And you saw data reselling that made you spew shit?? Either way, google hosted SIMs and educate yourself a bit. Impossible exists with you. That you can't do something doesn't mean it can't be done.

If hosted SIMs looks strange to you, I can teach you another way of achieving the OP's aim, that's if its data reselling.

vankaid:
I still maintain that you are a noob. An incorrigible one at that!
Your interest lies only in definition and uses CRON. You didnt go beyond that when you jumped in on this thread.
Possibly you have sent the OP an email without any thought at all and if he falls for your claim to being one of the geeks who left nairaland for the noobs he will send an advance payment only for you to abscond with his money when you realize that what he wants cannot be done the way you thought you could.

If you know as much as you claim in programming, you wouldnt even start to mention cron in this kind of solution. CRON is for scheduled tasks and if one is to resell data it needs to happen instantly with confirmation of payment.

##SHORT LESSON ON THE ISSUE AT HAND - MR. GEEK
CRON runs a script on your server and thats about what it can do for you. It (or other normal human assisted requests from the website) cannot connect to admin's mobile phone, send some ussd code that will debit his already subscribed sme data plan and send that same data to his clients phone.
While that is not an impossible task, there is no platform or api YET from network providers to let you do that from a script hosted on a webserver which can then be run by CRON or regular requests.

Have you been cleared now or at least get an idea what the challenge is - my geeky friend?
Hehehe, quit shitting on yourself. Where in the OP's post did you see anything relating to SMS?? And if you think that's an impossible task, google hosted SIMs.
ProgrammingRe: I Want To Automate My Site To Send Data.... by bot101(m): 3:27pm On Apr 02, 2018
vankaid:
Who is this one again.

By saying "WHATEVER it is" you have clearly demonstrated that you do not even know what the challenge is let alone knowing how to go about solving it.

Because you were told that cron job automatically runs scripts you then concluded it can do WHATEVER it is on earth you want it to do.

Thats why noobs like you take jobs you can't finish simply because you believed that when you get there you will figure it out.
Buhahaha...all these new children on nairaland. That's why most of the geeks here left. Let me indulge you once more, you who knows what the problem is, can you kindly enlighten us?

I wouldn't wait for you to finish scratching your head, so let me clear your obvious confusion. The OP wanted something handled automatically, without human interference (that's what automatically means), you handle this type of situations best with a periodically running task (that's what CRON is). When the task runs, it checks if certain conditions, as determined by the developer, are fulfilled. If they are, perform certain operations, in the OP's case, sending the data he wants to it's destination. Hope you learnt something today? Well, if you think I am a noob, why don't we find out? A task as simple as posting your portfolio/tech stack and years of programming professionally, are you game?
ProgrammingRe: I Want To Automate My Site To Send Data.... by bot101(m): 8:26am On Apr 02, 2018
Op said he wanted to send data from his website automatically and some people here are talking SMS API. Anyways, whatever it is, a simple CRON job will do that for you @OP, even if its SMS based. Ignore that vankaid, or whatever his monicker is. He has tons to learn and doesn't know what he is both doing and saying.

I guess this was what Mr Bill Gates saw about Nigeria! Roads are bad, buses are dilapidated yet we are building 'world class' bus stops.

Go and look at our public schools and see what they call chairs and tables there! Go and see people sleeping on the floors of emergency wards. See how poorly paid doctors are and how they are migrating en masse to Bolivia and Peru.

I appreciate a good work, but I just ask myself - why all the noise about a bus stop?

They have done well building this edifice, but I believe there should be more focus on people, people and people.
You don't know? It's more difficult and stressing to embezzle funds if people are developed, and going forward, the people successfully developed, will become even bigger obstacles to embezzlement.

You see, in Nigeria, politics is strictly a game of numbers combined with religious shittery. It works excellently on stark illiterates (almajiri and the likes) and on semi-illiterates (schooled zombies, one of which you obviously are) who unfortunately, are the majority in this shithole. That's the primary reason most of us believe Nigeria is irredeemable. The fools far outnumber the wise.

Good info.
However, all these apps has a way of being a step ahead of them.
For truecaller, if you don't want anyone to be able to trace your identity using truecaller, just register on true caller with a name that is anonymous.......simple.
I did it and it worked for me.
When I realised that true caller was divulging my identity, I just registered on true caller with a strange name with my number, and that stopped my real name popping up whenever it is searched on true caller or people with true caller apps on their phones calls my line.
Try this and thank me.later.
This stops other truecaller users from knowing your real name, but doesn't stop truecaller itself from knowing who you are. You see truecaller uploads your name and phone number to its servers exactly as you or someone else who saved your phone number with your real name uses truecaller. It only displays the one you choose because that's what you, who has first authority on what to call yourself chose to call yourself.
PhonesRe: With True Caller, Is Our Privacy Really Secure? by bot101(m): 8:57am On Mar 27, 2018
BlackPenNG:
In the wake of spam calls and other vices that Nigerians face via telephone calls, and the most annoying ones of airtel or any other of the network providers, forwarding bot calls to customers, Nigerians have found the need to identify the number calling before they pick up. it has either sides though, but, most of the time, it had really served its function of identifying spammy calls.

How does True Caller work?

I will write a quick run of how True caller really works, if you are one of Nigerians that don’t really know how this app works and have not bothered to ask google.

True caller just like any other app has a backend server, where it stores all info the app gets from users. Have you ever wondered why it needs data connection to function, this is cos, every time you use the True caller search, it connects with its back-end server, and gets a corresponding reply to its query?

Once you are using the true caller app, it asks for access to your phonebook, right? Hurray, all your phone data is being uploaded to the app’s server, which reviewers have termed secure. Fine. Let’s go on

So, as much people that uses the true caller app, all the phone book data ends up in the true caller’s server where they are arranged according to the server’s algorithm. With this, the server has a wealth of data stored in it, all over the world. So, I think you now understand that for every true caller user, their data is being uploaded to a server. Good.
Now, if someone calls you(A), and no name is reflecting on your phone, cos you did not save the person’s phone number, then use the true caller search. Once the person’s(B) number is saved on another person’s phone(C), who uses a true caller app, the name that person(C) saves the number(B) with, will reflect on your(A) phone. lo! And behold, you know who is calling you.

Cool app, but there is a con to it. Identity is relative, and what it means is this, to some people, I am Black Pen, and they probably saved my number with that, to others, it is Oludamola. Let me give you a quick example, I called a friend and my name reflected as Snr(Senior) Damola. This is so cos, there was only one person I gave that number, prior to that time, my junior in secondary school (Cos it wasn’t my hotline), so that’s what she saved it with, and obviously, she uses true caller, so my name is in true caller’s server as Snr Damola.(Finally, I’m popular)
But, the main reason why I decided on writing on this stuff you would probably have checked on google if you ever got curious is, “Are we really safe?”

I don’t know if you are aware of the scandal with Facebook, where details of 50million Americans was used to manipulate the election that got Trump into power, in favour of Trump. If Facebook could have such a massive data breach, which other app would not.

Remember, there are numerous apps on our mobile that we grant various accesses to our data saved on our phone. Social media apps, utility apps etc. my big question is, are we really safe in the midst of all this. It would be surprising but it’s true that with this chunk of info we give to these apps, we are really an open book.

Don’t be surprised to know that many app companies know a lot about you, and with the use of Artificial intelligence, they will tell you thing you don’t even know about yourself, even a crush you don’t know about.

What do we do?

Now that our lives are an open book, what do we do? Well, if you have been following me all along hoping that I would provide a solution to your privacy, I’m sorry to disappoint you, cos there is really no tech way to do that, to use their apps, you have to grant access. But, here are some bulletpoints;

Be careful of the apps you download; The Facebook scandal I mentioned, the company involved only used info gotten by an app that used Facebook account as a log in means. 270,000 people downloaded the app in the US, but with the access to people’s account, they were able to access details of their friends and all, amounting to 50 million persons, and poof! Data was stolen.

Try not to log in with Facebook or google; this might sound difficult, but if you care about privacy, go through the pain of creating passwords and details for each apps you use. That will make you more private.

Never let go of hope; Yes, in this you are not alone, let’s just keep praying/hoping that the big digital tech companies that already have our information in the palm of their hands continue to keep it safe and not do anything dubious with it.

I know you might be a tech geek, enthusiast or learner, if you have an idea of how we could keep our privacy better from this apps and software, kindly use the comment box below and share it. or questions you might want to ask, as you see, I reckon that I’m an open book, so use the comment box too.

It’s the world we are now, digitals. Privacy is only to an extent, to stay connected with the rest of the world, you have to part with something, and that is your information. But don’t be scared, the email you drop on this blog for subscription doesn’t have access to your details, so, subscribe to get more updates from us

Here, I rest my pen.
