megacontrol: Someone who wanted to kill my friend and family members. You forgot to add that. Someone who went as far as threatening my pastors I can share his phone numbers and the details of all his cronies that were terrorizing people all about. Someone who have no single issue he can lay claim on and yet was all bent on destroying himself. Someone whose closest ally is ready to share all he knew about our dealings together. Go and check the thread. I moved on at the carcass cos I’m no longer interested. That’s where issues arise. Do you think my silence over all those claiming fraud was because I’m weak bro. I don’t do nairaland war. So you really cared about the client and not the contractor right? Do you care to ask exactly what brabus did for him? Two can play the game though. 5 Likes 1 Share |

jabolo: That’s how we roll here until trolls and cry babies came to divide us. This is the place where we demystify construction in Nigeria. You bring your wild ideas and we wow it to life here. We are not here to build for everyone but to build a community for knowledge exchange. I’ll encourage you to learn how to swim with the sharks as it often get hot in here once a while. Thanks for the mention. You inspired us to do more. _____ You can never have it bad with brabus on your project. He be like say devil dey control some people though. How can someone who gave you 1st project and second project be complaining of fraud at what point did it happen? Does it mean he defrauded you while building your first 2 houses and you gave him no. 3 to build? Let’s reason these things na! There’ll always be altercations and differences on projects. Resorting to cheap blackmails is not always the fix. Even my friend whom we have an altercation yesternight wasn’t shy to say it as it is until the devil entered him. ______ Abi no be the same 3strikes wey me and him don dey discuss Peter Blitz Truck Devil is a liar. EgunMogaji2: No o! Big construction companies (elected ones) have been using this solution for years in Nigeria but the marketing team were so relaxed to get them to review the product on the public forum. The promotional items given were so boring. I’d do a better job promoting such a very good solution. Even @MMotimo can attest to this. ______ Imagine the huge savings I’d get if I do not have to plaster my bathrooms before installing tiles. |

EgunMogaji2: Lafarge is not doing well promoting this solution. I’m sure it’ll reduce our over-reliance on OPC cement. A smart approach would have been to give some of these adhesive to beta testers to try it out and give their feedback on public forums. Naija business people sha 1 Like |

If the adhesive can work on the surface above without using the conventional approach, I doubt it’ll pose any issue on a surface like the one below. Well my job is to make it work... I have two bags of Supafix to put this to test on different surfaces (wall, floor, wood, steel, concrete, sandcrete block, plastered, unplastered etc). There’s no harm in trying. 5k experiment can’t hurt.

EgunMogaji2: The pic above is a leveled floor as opposed to the rough surface in the pic below There’s absolutely a need to compensate for the uneven surface but not the conventional way. Just by adding few mortar to the mix.

EgunMogaji2: I’ve done this and shared here before at OPIC Isheri. Pics below. Please take note the floor wasn’t screeded ahead of laying the tiles like we normally do while using the OPC cement+sand approach. Just few qty of sand was added to the tiles adhesive with OPC to fill up the uneven spaces. Nothing more. I’m not sure the worse of uneven DPC floor would be as bad as the floor below. _______ This guy Gbenke has been doing some for years now https://www.nairaland.com/1476839/floor-wall-tiling/1#27325243 I just stumbled on the thread.

diordaves: I really wish I knew the Ijebu Ode guy. He has had a good time with the adhesives. He has done both - using it as a leveller and using it for screed only. Unfortunately, he’s one of the silent NL folks Egunmogaji2 asked us to respect. He told me he wasn’t able to achieve 5sqm during his first use but I think he got it right afterwards. ______ Well, I have 2 bags that can cover 10sqm to play with from tomorrow. We can do some experiments. If this turns out well, I’d be looking at hoarding 2000 bags The +/- N2k price tag is quite attractive in time like this especially for those at finishing stage. |

EgunMogaji2: You really don’t need it 100% perfect it in order to manage uneven surfaces, you might want to try any of the following: - have a light screed over the uneven surface to make it even (1in should be fine) - mix the tiles adhesive with the conventional OPC cement+sand to cover the bumps and rough surfaces. This is exactly what the guy who bought from me in Ijebu Ode did. The project was a renovation job so he had a lot of uneven surfaces to work on. Until we improve our build processes, a lot of the cutting-edge solutions in the developed might not really work for us. ____ Remember you can manage to have a perfect leveled floor but the baba latis will still go ahead to mix on the floor. I’m currently having that challenge on my ongoing build. 1 Like |

EgunMogaji2: Yes. Supafix tiles adhesives fall into same category. Thinset mortar already have latex and polymer additives that aid good bonding. 1 Like |

EgunMogaji2: You can check it out. Tiles adhesive is the right thing for tiles installation and not our conventional OPC cement+sand screed approach. |

3strikes: Is that all you’ve got? Brabus underquote to build a 3 floor building for you with just N12m Anyway, did you pay him extra money on your build? Was the project delivered within schedule or not? May I remind you of your pickup line when you called me... You seem to have forgotten how much you begged me and how you told me the stories of.... You seem to have forgotten your message to me when I completed your raft with meagre 2.5m using my marine boards and my dump truck to deliver sand. You’ve forgotten how you jumped for joy and told me you’ve never believed raft won’t cost less than 4.5m and how you’ve been watching closely to see if I’m not cutting corners. I can send you screenshots of some of your msgs though to refresh your memory or maybe you ask Kazeem ____ At what point did you realize Brabus work was unsatisfactory? Remember he doesn’t take money for a new milestone until the client is satisfied with the one paid for. Was it at the beginning or the middle or at the very end after he has delivered and moved on? Or you were saving it up?? The gullible ones will buy your stories. ____ Please stop doing this in front of your kids o because All liars will become a thief ____ I gave you the f*cking house you begged me for. At least give me some credit na _____ If I don’t respect clients confidentiality, I’d have leveled up bro. I’ll make you popular for the wrong reasons. topsy23: Unfortunately, there’s nothing that you, I or the government can do about this. Can you buy electrical cable at N9,000 and sell at N8,500? It’s impossible! The same way with cement right now. ______ My suggestion is that we should start exploring alternative to cement in Nigeria. The owner of the project next to my ongoing build is planning to use Supafix after I introduced it to him last week. I’ll be doing some demos in the coming days. A nairalander (whom I don’t know) ordered some quantities from me in January. I really wish he could give his feedback on the product. It’s cheaper and better than OPC. A good way to explore is to do comparative costing between OPC and the supafix in smaller rooms. Oyinbo man don’t use cement for their floors na |

EgunMogaji2: We are our own worst enemies. This is no different from a man using a saloon car menat for 5 passengers to carry 8 passengers and his only excuse is that the pump prices of fuel has increased. ________ Cement Update Reliable source have it that Lafarge Ewekoro plant is doing routine maintenance and only Lafarge Sagamu plant is operating at the moment. Even the Eastern plant is not operating. So production is happening in sagamu but there are too many bookings from other parts of the country that those who even booked for 20 trailers hardly get 10. This explains the increase in the price of cement. Cement price from the manufacturers remains ‘K’ The problems is coming from the distribution network and not from the manufacturers. As a matter of fact, Lafarge is trying to clear backlogs. 2 Likes |

Brabus! we go dey shout till I launch my 2nd, 3rd and 4th project Respect to that bro who despite all odds say “Brabus, I’ve heard all the stories and read all the epistles.... let’s do this.” For me, this is what separate men from boys. _______ I’ve never put out ads for my company. So people like us don’t struggle for jobs because we operate in a terrain that’s largely untapped. I don’t see how any of the rants here will affect me because I don’t go beyond my set target a year. _______ My first 2 clients even though nairalanders are approached me from kobocity. In few weeks, we will be celebrating our first completed project without a shouting match on that platform. This means the system we built is working. Kudos to those who believed in us and those who threw stones at us. We’ve used all the stones to build a castle for self-builders and first time homeowners. My name remain Brabus.
