I think it's all about packaging. You can package the cook to look more attractive but you can't package a badly prepared food. The way to a man's heart is through the belly.

I think Fayose is the worst. His delusions are sickened with hidden fear of his political future (Buhariphobia), depraved political thuggery and some other things I don't understand.

FFK is exhibiting his father's talent. If you tell him to start speaking against GEJ and campaigning for GMB now, you'll be surprised at how good he'll do it. He is also another Buhariphobia patient though.

Doyin Okupe (Chief Sycophant) has been quiet for a while but whenever he speaks he speaks gabbage which gives credence to the validity of the 'indomie brain' tag.. He was recently embarrased by journalists at a press conference and you all know why.

Wife beaters like Dino Melaye are just run-away thugs and thieves. He's just a jester showing resentment against his former colleagues.

Based on lack of credibility and distasteful thinking, below is a list of politicians whose talk shouldn't be taken seriously.. Feel free to add to the list.

1) Femi Fani Kayode
2) Doyin Okupe
3) Dino Melaye
4) Ayo Fayose

Religion / Re: “These Top Nigerian Pastors Are Candidates Of Hell Fire” – 7rys Old Girl. by brainbox2014(m): 7:52pm On Mar 03, 2015
Normally I wouldn't comment on threads like this (I prefer politics) that are just intended to elicit attention and confuse gullible people, but for the sake of clarity...

1) It's not David Olukoya but Daniel Olukoya.
2) I first saw this post few months ago on a not-so-popular blog that apparently needed traffic.
3) I'm really not surprised that some folks believe and digest every info they're fed with, without a holistic processing. It's normal to have the fickle; who are swept to & fro by every wind of interesting stories, and then the critical skeptics who seize every opportunity to vent their resentment against pastors.
4) Lastly I'm not God who justifies or condemn anyone, but a thorough analysis of this piece exposes delusions and shallow intentions of its originator. Some of the alleged spiritual revelations are obvious logical hypotheses. It's like saying: Arsenal will get knocked out of UCL if they don't change their ways (tactics, technique etc) against Monaco when you know they are already 3 - 1 down in the tie.
Religion / Pastor Washes The Sins Of His Congregation With Soap And Bleach (PHOTOS) by brainbox2014(m): 10:14am On Mar 03, 2015
These pastors in South Africa can be really weird. There's one who makes his congregation eat grass and drink fuel. Another one nearly made a pregnant woman miscarry by hitting her belly several times. Now this one! He washed the sins of his congregation with soap detergent, bleach and water. And you see the people obediently going to him for bleach to be poured on them.

Webmasters / Re: How To Open And Verify Paypal Account In Nigeria Using Bank Atm Card by brainbox2014(m): 10:57pm On Mar 02, 2015
wisecoded:
Do you know that you can now open PayPal
account in Nigeria and verify it using
your bank ATM card without using any
usual back door style again?
Few months ago PayPal decided to consider
and decided to add Nigeria to their list of
supported countries that can use PayPal,
which means you dont need any old back
door ways to open and run PayPal account
as a Nigerian.
First what is PayPal?
PayPal is an international e-commerce
business that allows you to securely receive
and transfer money through the internet
(Online Transactions).
With PayPal you can easily buy or receive
payments through the internet unlike our
tradition ways such as checks and money
orders.
What is back door?
You may not understand what I mean by
back door but am sure that some people will
understand it especially those who opened
or tried to open PayPal account through
third parties such as old liberty reserved
style, proxy hider and changer software etc.
Initially the only way to open an own a
verified PayPal account in Nigeria is through
back door you need software that can hide
or change your location so that you can
appear to be in one of the supported
countries or by address forgeries but the
good news now is that you dont need all
that again to open and run a verified PayPal
account in Nigeria because PayPal have
officially added Nigeria to their list of
supported countries as you can see on the
image below.
How to open and verify your PayPal
account In Nigeria the easy way
Am happy to tell you that you can open and
operate Verified PayPal account in Nigeria
easily and safely without any form of fear of
your account being blocked if there is no
cost for alarm.
To open PayPal account in Nigeria kindly
visit www.paypal.com and click register to fill
in your personal details accordingly.
Note: Make sure you fill the online form
with your original details because you will
still need to verify your account with your
Bank Visa or MasterCard
How to Verify Your PayPal account in Nigeria
using your Bank ATM Visa card or
MasterCard
After opening your PayPal account you need
to verify your account to remove some
restrictions that might hinder you from
having full access to your PayPal account.
To verify your PayPal account in Nigeria you
need a valid Visa card or MasterCard, I
mean your ATM CARD if it is written Visa or
MasterCard on the back cover not VERVE
CARDS.
The Ecobank Verve card cannot be used to
verify your PayPal account at least for now
because PayPal dont allow verve cards for
now.

I have one issue though. It has occured to me that one can only send money/purchase....but one cannot receive money. Perhaps that feature was blocked for Nigerian users.

warrior01:

Op, a times I wonder whether your likes just came down from Mars or you're simply suffering from selective amnesia. Where were you when the so called Northern elders and Buhari opposed the state of emergency declared by Gej in order to flush out the insurgents? Who stated that any onslaught against boko haram is a declaration of war against the North? When ihejirika decided to go offensive, who were those that opposed it and even declared that Gej and ihejirika are carrying out mass genocide in the north? Which political party opposed the release of funds to purchase critical weapons for our military and when was the funds eventually released? Even when FG decided to buy from the black market, who were those rejoicing that it didn't scale through. Please, do your research well before coming out to insinuate what you know nothing about.

It's funny you know when you speak of amnesia and yet you forget or deliberately refuse to mention that there were even more casualties during the state of emergency period, which was why the 'lawmakers' (not APC) kicked against it. GEJ said he needed billions of dollars to end Boko Haram and it was approved, so you can't tell me the excuse of not having the funds, even though we know most of the funds for security are being channeled to some people's accounts.

Let me also remind you that the report (backed by satellite images) from Amnesty International showed that most of the devastations done to civilians' homes in Baga were carried out by the Nigerian Army. I guess you're one of those people who believe that every Aboki killed in the North is a terrorist. Why wouldn't Buhari speak up when innocent people were being killed and buried massively in large pits by Nigerian soldiers....all in the name of fighting insurgency. I can only hope that folks like you would be more discerning to know that some of the very people that claim to be fighting Boko Haram are the ones playing games with human lives.

...and oh! Ihejerika belongs to the Alimodu Sheriffs and Lawal Kaitas league. He was one of those exposed by the Australian negotiator, Simon Davies.

You have a problem,so to avoid calling it campaign trick he should not put more effort to stop the insurgency,GEJ is a mere human and can never be perfect, he is not even the one fighting but the almighty God, so all you have to do is to keep praying for a better Nigeria while playing your own part as a human too

Nobody is dreaming of the possibility of a perfect human here. Dancing 24 hours after Nyanya bomblast is not imperfection but the height of negligence and wickedness. If your relative had died in that incident and you had seen a man who has been endowed with the power to take action, jubilating in a rally, you wouldn't have made this comment. Instead of facing the fact, you're trying to draw sympathy for the president. We are not asking him to be perfect. We are asking him to be human. Celebrating or even staying passive when your own people are wasting away is the height of inhumanity. Taking late actions that you know you could have taken long ago irks me. Instead of holding your irresponsible leaders, you are saying it's God who's fighting. It's people like you that make theists look unreasonable before some atheists. Even the beloved Isrealites had leaders who took charge of situations. Knowing God is not an alibi for irresponsibility.
Crime / Re: Benue Villagers Burn Bank Robber Suspect To Death (Graphic Photos) by brainbox2014(m): 10:43am On Feb 25, 2015
This reminds one of the popular 'How much did Jim Nwobodo steal....?" question by GEJ. Whatever this unfortunate guy stole (not even confirmed) is probably not as much as what the Jim dude looted. We burn the small thieves and praise, sometimes 'die for' the big ones who we call leaders. If this could have been done to corrupt leaders, then it would have made more sense in terms of justice. Jungle justice is no justice, just a disguise of frustration, misguided anger and uncivilised cruelty.

Nobody here wants Sharia law, but what do you call this?
Politics / My Take On The Recent Military Success Against Boko Haram by brainbox2014(m): 10:28am On Feb 25, 2015
Okay, I'm not trying to campaign for or against any political kingdom within the borders of this post, but I think it's high time we realised this current administration is playing games with human lives. I would be glad if the 'seemingly' mission impossible of ending insurgency in Nigeria is achieved within the stipulated time of 6 weeks. Who wouldn't be glad? However, we can not ignore the fact that the success will be a confirmation of the Government's deliberate negligence or its treatment with levity of terrorism. What does this tell us? Maybe it tells us that we are just being pranked into signing another 4 year deal with a jester....Maybe we are being hoodwinked to give our current looters another ticket for more looting...Could it also mean that GEJ has finally realised that fellas like Alh. Lawal Kaita and Alimodu Sheriff, likely BH funders from the PDP camp could make him lose the votes of the very same people that once campaigned for his 'Goodluck' in 2011?

Corruption breeds crime and there'll be no end to our troubles if we continue to let it thrive.... Nigerians should really think hard at this critical moment. Our political decisions shouldn't be influenced by tribe, religion or shallow sentiments. Some rush hour commissioning of projects won't do for me either, as it seems one of the major banes behind the election shift was to convince Nigerians to still vote for the ruling and failing party.

"(in Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon's voice) This is my logomachy and the logomachy I've made in void of logopersia." I don't even know what that means but we all know that he's saying 'this is my point'.

Computers / What Gender Should Be Assigned To Computers Based On This Interesting Story? by brainbox2014(m): 9:30am On Feb 24, 2015
A language instructor was explaining to her class that French nouns, unlike their English counterparts, are grammatically designated as masculine or feminine. Things like chalk or pencil, she described, would have a gender association although in English these words were neutral.
Puzzled, one student raised his hand and asked, What gender is a computer? The teacher wasnt certain which it was, and so divided the class into 2 groups (male and female) and asked them to decide if a computer should be masculine or feminine.
Both groups were asked to give four reasons for their recommendation. The Men decided that computers should definitely be referred to in the feminine gender because: No one but their creator understands their internal logic. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else, Even your smallest mistakes are stored in long- term memory for later retrieval. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.
The Women concluded that computers should be referred to in the masculine gender because: In order to get their attention, you have to turn them on. They have a lot of data but are still clueless. They are supposed to help you solve your problems, but half the time they ARE the problem. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you waited a little bit longer, you could have had a better model.

WHAT'S YOUR OWN ANSWER & REASON?

For People Who Don't Know

1. Major General Muhammadu Buhari never said he will make Nigeria ungovernable in 2011 in any public format.

2. It was a PDP politician, Alhaji Lawal Kaita who actually said Nigeria would be ungovernable if Jonathan became president in 2011.

3. It was Jonathan’s media spokesman, Reuben Abati who sat down and largely concocted the slanderous libel against Buhari’s name in April 2011.

4. General Muhammadu Buhari took Reuben Abati to court for damaging his name.

5. The Jonathan Presidency begged Major General Buhari to settle the case with Reuben Abati and the Guardian out of court.

6. General Buhari obliged and settled out of court. Reuben Abati with The Guardian published an unreserved apology to Buhari in the Guardian of 11th July, 2013.

7. Late General Azazi referred to the PDP “ungovernable” crises and anger that did actually lead to Boko Haram terror franchise hired by the PDP.

NOTE: This is not a partisan post but an attempt to clear a famous calumny. Facts shouldn't be manipulated.

The topic is misleading. It should have been..'It's a shame that Chad and others are doing better in the fight against Boko Haram than Nigerian soldiers.' This indirectly infers that the govt of these countries are putting more effort than ours.

Crime / On The Happening At Abule-egba Yesterday That Shouldn't Be Ignored. by brainbox2014(m): 8:37am On Feb 04, 2015
Something happened yesterday that reeled in my veins, enormous currents of concern for our dear nation.

A baby was abandoned in a polythene bag in Abule egba, Lagos, with his mouth covered with plaster to prevent him from crying out. What did people do? Typical Lagosians watched, took pictures like paparazzi and some even shot videos like the tech hands from Hollywood...and while they were doing this, the baby was dying and sadly eventually died before the morons realised it was too late to do anything reasonable. Who can we blame really? Three sets of people come to mind in the retrospection of this broad day light misery.

1) The parents; considering the antecedent that birthed the unfortunate kid and the cruelty of the one who dumped the fragile soul.

2) The passive observers and unconcerned (or scared) passers-by. Some people claim to be scared yet they can summon sufficient shameless courage to take pictures just for 'taking sake'.

3) Government officials (specifically the police).. The men in black are the major reason why people are scared to help; popularly known for incarcerating the wrong people and grabbing good Samaritans by the jugular.

Someone has to do something about this wicked system that incapacitates willing helpers. People naturally want to help in situations like this but if you can't, you shouldn't be daft enough to start taking photos of a dying baby. It's inhumane.

This is a forum and I believe we can discuss this with the aim of proferring a feasible solution, as it has become a trend for people to watch helplessly when a being is in need of emergency aid. Anyone, young or old, male or female could have been in the helpless situation of that baby. We can't continue to ignore a system that consequently devalues the lives of Nigerians.

If we can't help one another, who will?

I was once like you, following hausa people until my eyes began to open. They would make sure you are enemies with your fellow christians, get necessary informations from you, use you like a fool, then they will DUMP YOU in such a way that your fellow christian brothers would not even use a 20m pole to touch you not to talk of helping you (because they must have seen you as a betrayer hence lost confidence in you). They would make you hated. Goodluck is soooooo wise to have ran to his fellow christians because this is what will make him win. FACT! Have you guys ever noticed(for those of you with hausa friends) that whenever you are together with them, when they see any of their fellow islamists, they so much abandon you to the extent you will feel like nothing. They are such fanatics.
Nigerians tell me if true true dem no wan islamize us, wetin be the meaning of that Arabic inscription for our naira note? Nigeria na Arabic nation?
Why is it that they always bite their teeth whenever a christian is in power (even though the christian is trying his best)? It was done to obasanjo, now goodluck
Mtcheeeeeew. Amaechi would be dumped no matter what. They are only using him in other to make him an enemy of christians and to get the secret of christianity (I.e how they can capture christians to vote for them) shikenan! After that, they will throw him into a THRASH CAN! I HAVE SAID SO. You guys will bear me witness GOD's Grace because I SAID SO [/b]

You sound like a fanatic yourself. Below is something that would interest you.

Below is an extract from a warning that a brother in Sierra Leone gave to Nigerians about the tribal and religious intolerance he witness on Nigerian forums:

"I don't think you guys know what you are playing with. You can call each other names and laugh about it now but when you end up inciting hate here as I read through your posts here and a real civil war starts in your country you will regret what you are doing now.

Your religious and political leaders are trying to divide you between religious lines and you are helping them do that rather than standing up and say we are all Nigerians never mind our tribe, region or religion. That's the only stand that will save your blessed nation.

The foreign powers pushing the government to take certain decisions will abandon you when you start killing one another and reject you from running to their countries so be careful.

Our 11 year war in Sierra Leone was not even based on religious or tribal difference and see what we did to our country. The worst conflicts are those based on tribal and religious differences.

See Central Africa, Bosnia and Rwanda. To have a better knowledge of this, please watch the documentary/movie called "Hotel Rwanda" or "Sometime in April". My HEART bleeds when I read what you guys are saying because I know what this will lead to.

You will be the losers all of you whether Christian, Muslim, igbo, yoruba or hausa.

Stand as one and save your nation together because you have only one Nigeria that has the potential to lead Africa."

This letter being true or false has nothing to do with the fact that insurgency would continue under clueless GEJ for the next 4 years. That's apparent...but one thing that may not continue if BH gets out of hand is a 'civilian rule'. This morally bankrupt administration might well be a victim of a military coup if soldiers continue to sense hopelessness in the situation of things.
Politics / Prof. Pat Utomi Writes On The Controversial Charles Soludo Article by brainbox2014(m): 5:53pm On Jan 30, 2015
Capture

Professor of political economy and former presidential candidate Pat Utomi shared this on his Facebook this morning. Read and tell us what you think...
The firestorm generated by Chukwuma Soludo’s well reasoned commentary on the place of issues in the 2015 electioneering campaign has somehow become the core of the campaign. What a way to come from outside and define agenda.

Of course I do not agree with all the points marshaled by the erstwhile CBN Governor and Patito’s Gang member, but not to commend his citizen duty of engagement or indicate as reprehensible the resort to ad hominen bashing of the former Economic Adviser instead of providing Facts to counter the views he had raised.

That is issues based campaign. I will myself raise logic to support and dispute some of the points in the Soludo intervention.

I do agree with Soludo that issues matter. I also think that those who turn to divisive emotion-laden typecasting of others rather than issues pertaining to the well being of the Nigerian people do a grave disservice not only to democracy but to the long term common Good of all.

The Soludo thrust of criticism sounds like an attack on the statist perspective that intervention can generate jobs and economic growth. Even as one who likes to see government out of the way, I find the approach worrying because beyond the Keynesian logic that brought the ultimate capitalist state, the US, out of the Great Depression with initiatives like the Tennessee Valley Authority in Infrastructure, there is more recent example of post 2008 global financial crisis and the stimulus packages of the Obama Administration, and now Europe turning to Quantitative Easing, not to knock the wall street / Main street tag team approach to ensuring prosperity. Soludo’s solutions sometimes sounded like Deepak Lal on the poverty of Development Economics. I think that if we see current oil price slum as an opportunity rather than a threat then we have to see a role for government in the way Lee Kuan Yew used state intervention when Singapore was prostrate in 1965, as Nigeria is today.

This leads to another point I am not in agreement with Soludo on. He talks about cost of programmes and the fact that low oil prices mean you cannot finance a big idea. In 1965 Singapore’s main revenues came from rent for the British Naval Base and the British had decided to shut all bases east of Eden. The decision of leaders of the United Malay, National Organisational (UMNO) to eject Singapore from the Federation that was thought to be the only hope left. Singapore, out of pocket, and all dressed up with nowhere to go. Then they rolled up their sleeves, got creative, transmitted the right values and found leadership that inspired and had integrity. Today the small country probably has the largest concentration of billionaires per capital on earth. Here in Nigeria, shortly after self government, in the 1950’s, Nnamdi Azikiwe as Premier of Eastern Region was anxious to match the free education policy of Chief Obafemi Awolowo. Palm Produce did not fetch as much as Cocoa in the Market. The civil servants led by the new Permanent Secretary in Finance, Chief Jerome Udoji thought it could not be done because of limitations of money. Zik insisted and accused Udoji, in Parliament, of trying to sabotage his government. After 40 percent of the Eastern Nigeria budget of 1957 had gone to education and was still inadequate, the Ugoji team suggested the introduction of fees for Primary 1 and Primary 5. But leadership kicked in. A philosophy called “Ibu anyi danda” raised a formula that created a partnership between government, the communities and missionaries that enabled the East leapfrog the gap in education between the East and West.
In both cases the difference was leadership. At the centre in Abuja for some reason that may be from exposure, or whatever, does not inspire as Lee Kuan Yew, Nnamdi Azikiwe and Michael Okpara did. Money is not everything in making dreams come through.Among the many lessons we will learn, if we begin to operationalize the cash transfers initiative of APC, a concept that helped Inatio Da Silva pull Brazil out of ‘potential’ into a global economic powerhouse, is that we may not need as much cash as Soludo projects and that corruption and goal displacement is so high in a bloated public service that the savings will more than be adequate. Besides from Kayode Fayemi and Rauf Aregbesola we learn that with such programmes in Ekiti and Osun that the numbers projected are often exaggerated. Given our abuse of census we are likely to find much fewer people in those brackets. Check with the Bill Gates Foundation on satellite imagery studies of target population groups.
Having stated my major point of disagreement, it is useful to reflect on some other points raised by Soludo.
His broadside on austerity measures pronouncement and the road to austerity is a true, fair and proper read. No question that we walked with our eyes open into a repeat of 1982. In many of my speeches and my 2006 book WHY NATIONS Are Poor, I recall how the Iranian revolution pushed oil prices into the stratosphere of USD 40 a barrel. We went reckless with champagne and even importing sand and big men bought Rolls Royces. We managed to borrow ourselves into a dept trap. On this round we moved up private jets and buying up Dubai.
When this current boom started with India Rising and China producing I recall on several occasions calling for fiscal responsibility compact in which flows into the distributable pool, the FAC account, not go above $40 a barrel, with additional revenues up to $70 a barrel price going to a stabilization fund. This fund would be available were prices to drop below $40 to be used to ensure a constant budget funding up $40 in lean times. Beyond $70 it should flow into a future fund. I have been singing this song for several years but the technocrats say the politicians insist on sharing the whole money and say of talk about saving for a rainy day that it is pointless planning for the rain when it was already pouring torrents. My retort was what is so wrong in resigning to make a point and force public conversation to educate the people because these politicians may be greedy but they surely do not hate their children. They have only acted in ignorance. I point them to young Mahathir Mohammed in Malaysia who disagreed with the position of the then Prime Minister and spoke up. He was dropped from the government where he was a junior minister, and expelled from The United Malay National Organization (UMNO) the dominant party at that time. Out of government he wrote a book: The Malay Dilemma. That triggered soul searching that finished with the resignation of the Prime Minister. He was brought back into the Party. Not long after Dr Mahathir Ibn Mohammed became Prime Minister and the history of Malaysia changed for good.
What does it take to lead such change- Genius? No. I draw from the Ronald Reagan experience in the US. President Reagan was not a genius. Some think he probably already had Alzheimer disease when he entered the White house. But his values were clear as was his vision. He found the right people and an America, in retreat, was revitalized, opening the way for teen and twenty American young stars to create a new industry with the .com revolution. Ironically, I have said elsewhere that the Buhari movement somehow reminds me of the coming of Ronald Reagan.

Let me close with a caveat. My response is a citizen response. My prism on this is not partisan. But I am a card carrying member of the APC. The emergence of the APC is a culmination of my life’s quest as an institutionalist to see the dynamic of two balanced political parties. I was sure that without competition between parties that are equals progress would continue to elude Nigeria So I longed for and worked for the scenario we have today. But I see in the torrent of abuse on Chukwumah Soludo for speaking truth to power and worry this thing we have worked hard for, not in any pursuit of any self interest, but for the advance of the common good, could be threatened by those who fail to understand the very idea of the public squares and the triumph of the ideas rather than emotional outbursts that result in tension and violence.

I have read unprintable things on line and in so many e-groups, some more offensive than Charlie Hebdo cartoons from both sides. This is poison we must curb. It is a double blow when those who follow this track are well educated. So let us leave this business of certificates and uncompleted PHDs and hateful portrayals of opponents in caricature from the cross to throw backs of earlier life of candidates that seem like Hitler’s Goebbels at work let’s examine vision of society of challenges and the record of incumbents. Lets ask people, regarding incumbents, is your life better today than it was four years ago and to the challengers how can you make these same lives much better four years from now. To win elections from intimidation, a shower of insults and trying to diminish opponents rather than engage their minds can only produce pyrrhic victory.

The worst such “victory” would be to win an election and lose a nation through bitterness that makes it difficult to get people to work together to advance the shared good of the people. For people like me the public sphere is about the pursuit of the elevated immortality. This comes when you do what is right and if providence beckons, as it did for Mahathir Mohammed, lee Kuan Yew and Ronald Reagan then you live a name that time cannot find an eraser to rub off. Those who negate the opportunity for progress to blossom and the triumph of the human spirit to bring progress deserved die a thousand times while they still inhale and exhale no matter the title they get for their place is in infamy.

I'm pretty sure most of the folks here will just rush to drop comments without reading the article itself. Personally, I see nothing wrong in his preference for Islamic economics, Ex-CBN Gov. Sanusi said the same. I'm sure Christians will see nothing wrong if a church-going politician says something like 'Christian doctors are specially gifted in attending to patients because of their spiritual inclination' in a christian seminar. If you read that stuff very well, it was addressed in a conference.

We are going to make this very simple.

If you're for GEJ, hit 'LIKE'.
If you're for GMB, hit 'SHARE'
If you're for any other candidate, make a comment that contains the name and party of that candidate.

Thank you great Nigerian people.

agabaI23:
That the son of a victim endorsed Buhari does not make his action right. Does it?

He could be one of those people that in haste for a miracle.

It means that he has chosen to look beyond the emotional cloud of anger, hate and fear, by taking a deeper consideration of the motives of GMB and accepting the fact that it was the law that executed his father for a crime he actually did commit. For a man to support someone that made a decree that killed his father, that's not just because he has a forgiving spirit but because he painfully understands the actions of that government and has done a prognosis to infer that GMB will make a better leader. Meanwhile, one of the people he jailed during his time penned some thoughtful notes.
