Business / Anyone Had This Unpleasant Experience With Skye Bank? by brainbox2014(m): 12:16pm On Apr 26, 2016 |
I have been using a particular bank for years now (name withheld so you don't think I have come here to spoil one bank to glorify the other), and I have never experienced the kind of blind ripping off that I have seen in the few months since I opened an account with Skye bank. I'll state some of them here and I'll like to know if anyone has had the same experience. 1) While filling the registration form, I only selected email alerts. I did not tick sms alert (for a reason i will explain next), yet they started sending me sms alerts. 2) I was then made to understand that 4 naira will be deducted 'for every alert' i receive. I was like kilode. 4 naira seems small but it's not if you'll be handling several transactions and getting so many alerts (wanted and unwanted). Moreso, if let's say someone sent me 10 000 naira, by the time they deduct 4 naira, it means i can no longer get the money wholly. Even if it's 1 naira that makes it 9999 naira, meaning i have to pay in some money before i can withdraw 10k. 3) So i wanted to opt out of the sms alert only for them to tell me I can't because a new policy says that all bank a/c owners must be on sms alert. I'd like to know how true this is. 4) Well, I decided not to allow any dime into the Skye bank a/c again. This morning I tried transferring 2k out of 3k plus left there using the mobile app, and i was told insufficient balance. I later discovered that the operating balance was 2k, meaning i can only withdraw 1k. I know most banks use 1k so i wonder why theirs is different. I am putting forward these complaints just to know if there are others who have had the same experience. |
Jokes Etc / How To Know That You Have Badluck by brainbox2014(m): 7:25am On Apr 20, 2016 |
You know you have a bad luck: After boarding a bus, it gets to your turn to pay your fare and you can't find your money. If you are downloading 5GB of data and it Fails at 99%! If you buy a bold 6 for N90,000 today and the next day the price drops to N20'000. If you win N100millon, put it in the bank and next week, the bank declares bankruptcy! In your first day in a restaurant, after eating the fish, the bone get stuck in your throat. If after working for 30 days, you get fired without salary. If after selling your father's property to go abroad, and you still get deported few weeks later. If after six abortions and the guy still ends up not marrying you. If you submit "expo" (paper chips) with your answer sheet. When your friend just comes back from America, gives you a cheque and did not remember to sign before going back. When at age 38 , you still refer to Wizkid as your role model. After you photo-shop your picture and you're still as ugly as Taye Taiwo If you get expelled 24 hours to your graduation. If you break-up with your Boyfriend/Girlfriend and he/she wins 100million naira the next day! If the person that you were cursing out in traffic turns out to be the one interviewing you for a job. If you lied to armed robbers that you don't have a phone with you, then it rings, and your ringtone is 'gobe'! If you sell your Kidney to buy a Range rover sport and they steal it the next day. If after reading this post, you did not laugh or drop a comment You can add other examples of bad luck in the comment box below. 1 Like |

Using a cell phone, Silvia filmed her little boy, Benjamin, who was playing on the hallway floor. A little tiny creature just ran from the doorway under the counter. When she slowed down the video, she clearly saw a tiny figure running. It left behind a horrible smell and trail of discharge. It seemed the creature was running from the kitchen to the door, to get out to the garden. Benjamin continued talking to these creatures, who didn't seem aggressive. Now 5 years old, his parents have released this video. We're not sure what to believe, but maybe it's a weird lighting incident? Romance / Listen Up! Why Some Women Still Walk Away From Men They Truly Love by brainbox2014(m): 11:03am On Dec 29, 2015 |
Going against their feelings: Even if it feels terrible, to the point where they feel like their heart is being torn out of them, women leave men they actually love. It happens because of multiple issues, some situations being more complex than others. Here are some of the most common reasons for women to leave their loved ones. 1) Unavailability: Not being present is probably the most common reason for women to leave. Some men put work, golf, games, TV or fishing before their significant others and that's where the problems start. The worst part about this is that they are not bad men... they just don't realize that they're taking their wife for granted. 2) Not Earning Her: A wife shouldn't be considered property. Men are supposed to work hard to earn the love from women and even harder to keep it. Women want to be able to talk about their dreams and concerns with somebody that will actually listen and care. 3) Passion Missing: Women are attracted to passion. Not only the sexual type of passion but more importantly, the passion for being alive. You need to make sure that you possess it since it is your most attractive asset. 4) Listen before you talk: Another common mistake is to end up having one-sided conversations. What do you feel when you listen to her? Does your mind wander? Try to connect with her through her eyes, keeping eye contact and making her feel that you are really there and deeply interested in her. 5) Not connecting your feelings: Try to be more aware of what you feel when you touch her. Pay attention to those subtle feelings and emotions. Be communicative and mention everything you notice, moment after moment. 6) Little time spent together: You might think you don't have any time for this. But you know what? You do. It only takes 5 minutes of your day to keep that spark. In the end, it isn't about the amount of time and money you spend together. It is the quality of this time that really counts. Make it happen and try to be completely present with that woman you love. Be open and see and listen without judgement. Source: www.wowtidings..com

This story proves that the bond of love between a mother and her child is exceedingly powerful. Words cannot really express the quality of the connection between a mother and her child. In Hong Kong, a woman died almost instantly after delivering a baby boy leaving the doctors in a dilemma about the cause of death. However, a mysterious resurrection happened after the crying baby started touching her face and screaming in her ears. Honestly, i see nothing peaceful about the so called Shiite muslims based on what I've seen so far. I could be wrong though. Why would a peaceful group create a lockdown or road block. We can't tolerate such religious oppression. An attempted attack on the COAS is insignia to a possible attack on even the president himself. Allowing such religious excesses is what creates the breathing ground for terrorism. Extremism should be crushed not tolerated. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Chinaimporter: Normally I'd ignore comments like this. Afterall, they say let the fool wallow in his folly... but I'm a believer in the fact that people's orientation can still change. What amazes me is the level of unnecessary tribal consciousness that you displayed in a thread that had nothing to do with tribe. You seem to seize every opportunity to vent your rusty feelings about Biafra and whatever empty dreams that you have. Everything in your life shouldn't be about Igbo this Igbo that. The tribal filter is unfortunately top in your mental evaluation of people. True nobility is not about one tribe being seemingly better than others or one man being superior to another. True nobility is you being better than the person you once were. God bless you 1 Like |

Family / This Story Shows The Best Way To Make Decisions In Tight & Tense Situations by brainbox2014(m): 9:00am On Oct 27, 2015 |
Thinking "Out of the Box" Many hundreds of years ago in a small Italian town, a merchant had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money to the moneylender. The moneylender, who was old and ugly, fancied the merchant's beautiful daughter so he proposed a bargain. He said he would forgo the merchant's debt if he could marry the daughter. Both the merchant and his daughter were horrified by the proposal. The moneylender told them that he would put a black pebble and a white pebble into an empty bag. The girl would then have to pick one pebble from the bag. If she picked the black pebble, she would become the moneylender's wife and her father's debt would be forgiven. If she picked the white pebble she need not marry him and her father's debt would still be forgiven. But if she refused to pick a pebble, her father would be thrown into jail. They were standing on a pebble strewn path in the merchant's garden. As they talked, the moneylender bent over to pick up two pebbles. As he picked them up, the sharp-eyed girl noticed that he had picked up two black pebbles and put them into the bag. He then asked the girl to pick her pebble from the bag. What would you have done if you were the girl? If you had to advise her, what would you have told her? Careful analysis would produce three possibilities: 1. The girl should refuse to take a pebble. 2. The girl should show that there were two black pebbles in the bag and expose the moneylender as a cheat. 3. The girl should pick a black pebble and sacrifice herself in order to save her father from his debt and imprisonment. The above story is used with the hope that it will make us appreciate the difference between lateral and logical thinking. The girl put her hand into the moneybag and drew out a pebble. Without looking at it, she fumbled and let it fall onto the pebble-strewn path where it immediately became lost among all the other pebbles. "Oh, how clumsy of me," she said. "But never mind, if you look into the bag for the one that is left, you will be able to tell which pebble I picked." Since the remaining pebble is black, it must be assumed that she had picked the white one. And since the moneylender dared not admit his dishonesty, the girl changed what seemed an impossible situation into an advantageous one. MORAL OF THE STORY: Most complex problems do have a solution, sometimes we have to think about them in a different way. 1 Like |

You just have to prepare a delicious soup with it (spice it with fish and other attractive recipe that will make it edible for the dog). It will cleanse its digestive system.
