2. Addis Ababa is decent enough, kinda like Abuja. The girls look great, especially the Habesha ones. Accommodation on airbnb is expensive, compared to many much better countries, especially for the mediocre quality you get.
You can have a good time there, as long as you stay within Addis. Most other regions are a bit volatile an undeveloped. I did. One last question; do you coach young Nigerians? Even at a price, Nigeria needs a rich human resource like you. |

ramalot: I have gained some insights into different societies and cultures, by traveling far and wide. Not as a weekend tourist, but spending extended time in those places, and living an everyday life. Some of that information/experience might be useful to someone here.
The main point of this AMAA is mostly to answer questions of curiosity. Just random things you wonder about more obscure and less popular places (which I prefer to visit). I'm calling it "Ask Me Almost Anything," because I will not be answering certain questions.
Some questions I can't answer:
1. Questions about visa processes: I simply don't know, as I travel visa-free on a US passport, in almost all cases.
2. Questions about "hustling" as a documented or undocumented resident.
I have a web-based business in the US. So I work remotely, wherever I am.
A few things to note:
1. When I say "lived in a country," I don't mean permanently. I use that for countries I spend at least 1 month. I typically spend anywhere from 1- 3 months per country. In a few cases, I've stayed as long as 6, 10 and 12 months in some countries.
2. I travel on a US passport. I keep renewing my Naija passport each time it expires, but I never actually use it. Latest one I got in New York expired some months ago. I only used it once, in visiting Naija.
3. I am less interested in visiting "first world countries," as I find them boring. So most of my travels are to developing countries, but mostly those I still have access to solid accommodation and amenities. I have a business to run, so I can't be without reliable internet.
I find these countries more diverse in culture and lifestyle. First world countries are too structured and predictable.
4. I don't stay in hotels. I rent full Airbnb apartments, as I typically stay in a place for a few months and prefer to feel at home. I only stay in a hotel, if I need to, for 1-2 days while in transit, or something.
5. I've been learning Spanish for a long time, and speak decent enough conversational Spanish, and basic Portuguese.
Some countries I've been (including Nigeria, where I grew up):
Africa: 1. Nigeria 2. Benin Republic 3. Ethiopia (multiple visits) 4. South Africa
Latin America (South, Central, North): 5. Brazil 6. Colombia (multiple visits) 7. Argentina 8. Uruguay 9. Ecuador 10. Chile 11. Costa Rica 12. Peru 13. Panama 14. Dominican Republic 15. Mexico 16. Paraguay
Europe: 17. England (multiple visits) 18. Portugal 19. Netherlands (Amsterdam)
Asia: 20. Thailand (multiple visits) 21. Vietnam 22. Singapore 23. Indonesia 24. Philippines 25. Hong Kong 26. South Korea 27. China 28. Malaysia
North America: 29. USA (where I live) 30. Canada
Bonus (transits only, without bothering to leave the airport) 31. Moscow, Russia - 6 hours 32. Lome, Togo 33. Doha, Qatar
Current location: Buenos Aires, Argentina (Yes, there will be epic street parties if Argentina wins tomorrow!)
All pictures I post on this thread were taken with my phone. None are edited in any way. Inspired! I have two questions though 1. What do you do for a living? 2. My birth country is Nigeria but deep within, I feel like I am Ethiopian. I'd like to know what it's like living in Ethiopia. |

lexy2014: Offpoint and irrelevant grammar. My question is very simple, where can African elephants be found in Africa? I don't know where you are driving at. The images I shared are relatively understandable. I also named countries where these species are found in Africa. Those countries I mentioned in my previous response are not in Asia, Europe or America. Perhaps, you did not read the response

lexy2014: That's not what I asked you. Where can African elephants you mentioned be found in Africa? These images, courtesy Wikipedia should help you understand my point. That is the distribution of the Loxodonta genus in Africa. The bush elephant prefers the grassland while the forest elephant roams the tropical rainforest, and are more populated in Cameroon. They stroll into Nigeria and might be spotted in little herds or singly once in a while. Evidences of residential herds in Nigeria is scarce. Habitat loss and habitat fragmentation has driven them beyond human sighting. Lastly, it doesn't matter where they are found; Cameron, Gabon, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria..... taxonomically, they are still called African bush or African forest elephants. They are not named by the country where they are found.

There is nothing like Nigerian elephant. It is either Asian/Indian Elephant (Elephas maximus) or African bush elephant (Loxodonta africana), or African forest elephant ( Loxodonta cyclotis) |

jesusjnr2020: Let's hear from the Judge of all the Earth, Himself, what He has to say about this:
Matthew 16:27 (KJV)
For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
Matthew 25:34-40 (KJV)
Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
So if the Words of Jesus, the One who paid the price for man's sin was anything to go by, good works could indeed qualify one for heaven.
God bless. What kind of reward? If you mean that the reward is eternal life, I think that you are mistaking. In my opinion, good work is not sufficient to take guarantee salvation. What guarantees salvation is confessing Jesus. Good works is the basis for rewards for those who are already saved. We shall not all receive the same reward (Matthew 16:27) even if we all are saved by a common grace. Everyone's works will be tested by fire. It doesn't mean that we will all be cast into the lake of fire. Our works will be made to stand the test of God. We as humans do not really know what qualifies as good works. Most of our works qualify as show-offs. Such will be revealed by the flame of God's test. That's why Jesus told rich man in Mark 10;18 that he should call no man 'good' only God is good. The good work we try to do with the energy of our flesh is nothing if it is not inspired by God. It is God who works in us, both to will and to do, of His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13). The works we do with the energy of our flesh is to seek personal glory, recognition, or to amass sentiments from people. I feel safe to also say that when we do 'good works' because we think we will receive a reward from God, it is also in that category. Of course,God has a reputation for rewarding good works, especially those that are done in secret, yet,the basis of good works is as it sounds, because it is the 'good' and proper thing to do. This is my very humble submission sir/ma[/b] |

Bola146: Who are we to judge? God is just unquestionable! Just do your good deeds and follow His instructions in the Bible not men's instructions, then ask for mercy We are not judges but the qualification has been laid down by God. We are not saved by works. We are saved by grace. |
