kiddoiLL: the devil is a liar, the devil is a liar! you do realize not even for once did the Bible recorded a single situation where the devil lied right? but cont, what do I know? The devil is a liar The devil told Jesus that he (devil) would give Jesus the entire world if Jesus bowed to him. He lied there because the kingdoms of the world were never for the devil but for the Sons of men ( The heavens are the heavens of the LORD, But the earth He has given to the sons of men - Psalms 115:16 ) and for God Psalms 115:3. Besides, the Bible called the devil the father of lies. John 8:44 (When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it). Being a father of lies means he has lies in his DNA to be able to father lies and liars. Most of his lies are coated in deceptions that look appealing to man's presumed truth |

Nowenuse: What about Benue state that is like 98% christian? See something, in Nasarawa for instance, christians are actually 60% of the population and not 50/50. In many parts of Nasarawa and other Northern christian areas, you do not find muslims in the rural areas. This is because a lot of the muslims you see are settlers in these places. This gives you the false impression that muslims are actually more in that area when actually they aren't. When it is time for crisis, you do not expect people who live in a town to overpower the natives who have dozens of villages surrounding that town.
Have you heard of Tafawa Balewa town in Bauchi state? No mosque exists in that town and there are no muslims there currently. They were all chased out in 2011. Muslims (most of whom were settlers) were actually about ½ of the population or even majority in that town in the past and they started behaving uncontrollably, claiming ownership of the town, when crisis begun and different group of christian militia started coming into the town and attacking from the surrounding villages (which are overwhemingly christian), all the muslims had to flee and never return.
I am a northern christian, this is why I am telling you this. In Kebbi state for instance, christians can never be evicted from the 4 LGAs that make up Zuru zone because christian indigenous tribes are actually the majority in those areas and control all the rural terrains. However, christians can easily be evicted from other parts of Kebbi state.
The problem only comes for a northern minority tribe where at least 40-50% of their own people are muslims and take sides with Hausa fulanis or even if the tribe is overwhelmingly christian but surrounded and completely cut off from other christian areas, like in the case of the Ngizim of Yobe state (who are mostly christian and actually own Potiskum, the largest town in Yobe state), but are completely surrounded by muslim tribes. These type can easily be evicted when crisis begin even though they control their rural areas. Wow. I must confess that your statistics is relieving. May God help and be with us all. |

Nowenuse: The only christians who can be evicted from their lands are native Hausa christians from the core north who are a minority and whose lands are controlled by the caliphate.
Christians cannot be evicted from the North-central, the North-east or Southern Kaduna in an all full-scale war because christians are the majority population in most of these areas they are found in the North.
Instead it would be the other way round in many parts of the North central and North-east, muslims would be the ones to be evicted. Like seriously? I only wish this is true. I lived in Abuja/Nasarawa for long years and I stayed in core north (kebbi) for a year. Muslims: Christians ratio is 50:50 in North Central apart from Plataue state where Christians are more. However, for the sake of the minority in core north, I pray the state of the union is not compromised |
Politics › Re: Break-up Not Solution To Nigeria’s Problems — Osinbajo by brainhgeek(m): 8:43am On Jul 31, 2019 |
Pamatips: The Vice-President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, has said there is no truth in the thinking that the different regions of the country would prosper individually if the country breaks up.
He said Nigeria needed to learn from the example of Sudan, which split into northern and southern Sudan in the belief that that was the solution to the country’s internal strife.
Also citing the case of Somalia, the Vice-President argued that the fact that people speak the same language and practice the same religion was no guarantee that they would live in harmony.
The Vice-President spoke in Lagos on Tuesday at the 70th anniversary lecture of the Lagos Country Club.
He spoke on the theme, ‘Promoting national cohesion as a means of promoting progress and prosperity.’
Osinbajo, while pointing out that diversity could either be a trigger for conflict or a fountain of prosperity and progress, urged Nigerians to embrace the latter like the United States of America, which exploited diversity to its advantage.
He said, “The truth is that any group that suggests that its destiny is outside Nigeria and so must separate to achieve its ambitions will find out soon enough that even within that group there are many little splinters, factions waiting to cut the pie into even smaller pieces, hoping that by doing so, they will eat a large piece.
“The mere fact that we all speak the same language or belong to the same tribe does not mean that there will not be strife; and in the same way, the mere fact that we all speak different languages or belong to different tribes and religions does not mean we will strive.”
Osibanjo regretted that as a result of weak law enforcement and justice institutions, divisive narratives had gained ground in the country.
To reverse this trend, he said the institutions must be strengthened to assure Nigerians of security anywhere they lived.
He added, “The challenge is dynamic and our approach must also be dynamic. That is why I believe that state police in a large and diverse federation is an imperative. However, we know that the creation of state police requires constitutional amendment. In the interim, the Federal Government has approved community policing, as an option. A component of that is that the new approach to police recruitment is that policemen will be recruited in each local government and after training, they will be required to remain in their local government.”
In another development, Osinbajo said the Federal Government must win its fight against human trafficking.
The vice president, who said the government was concerned about the youth and the dangers of trafficking, added that sexual offences were abominations to God and man and the government had established the sexual offenders’ register.
He spoke on Tuesday in Abuja at a public lecture on the 2019 World Day against Human Trafficking.
The lecture was hosted by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and other related offences with the theme, ‘Human Trafficking: Call your government to action.’
Osinbajo said, “Human trafficking is a clear and present danger which confronts all nations in the world either as a source, transit or destination country. It is therefore pertinent that the efforts to combat it should be wholesome.”
Source: https://punchng.com/break-up-not-solution-to-nigerias-problems-osinbajo/ Inasmuch as I desire a breakup too, I believe it is not in the best interest of some group of people. As a Christian, I will not advocate breakup for the sake of the Christians in northern Nigeria. The only defence most of them are still having against mass execution is the unity of this country. I will rather swallow my desires to be my brother's keeper. Restructuring won't be a bad idea though |

To the point that Snakes, elephants, whales, dolphins, crocodiles and all sorts of endangered species are not being preserved as important wildlife but are being regarded as fast food in this part of the world.

Levant: Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi has expressed deep concern over the recent unrest and clashes in the Nigerian capital Abuja.
In a statement on Tuesday, Mousavi condemned violence and the use of force against demonstrators taking part in Monday protest rallies.
He touched upon the worsening health condition of detained Muslim leader Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, and said it has been more than two months since the medical team reported Zakzaky and his wife needed immediate medical treatment abroad.
“Nigerian authorities are expected to immediately get Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky out of the detention centre and provide him with access to proper medical services,” the spokesman said.
Highlighting the need for preserving security and stability and restoring peace in Nigeria, Mousavi appealed for calm by both sides, and urged Nigerian officials to exercise restraint.
He further called on authorities to speed up the trend of Zakzaky’s treatment and ease worries about his deteriorating health condition. He also called for a negotiated settlement of existing problems.
Abuja as well as several other cities around the world has, in recent days witnessed protest rallies where demonstrators called for the release of the Muslim cleric.
Demonstrations in Abuja turned ugly on Monday as security forces used violence against protesters.
Meanwhile there have been growing concerns over Zakzaky’s frail health.
Recently, a lawyer for the imprisoned cleric warned that his client’s health was in critical condition and that he might die if he was not released very soon.
The warning came after a Nigerian court ordered to extend Zakzaky’s detention for another eleven days. Zakzaky’s legal team says the cleric suffered a stroke last week and has got no sleep for seven days. The hearing will now be adjourned until July 29th.
Meanwhile, a group of 50 activists wrote a letter to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, demanding Nigeria’s religious leader be allowed to leave the country for urgent medical treatment. Zakzaky has been in prison since 2015.
