Fineman87:I never said the north are our masters oh! I said they are masters of political permutations (a.k.a chess) in the Nigerian context! I also said they're not the only masters and that we have masters down south too! Imagine if tinubu had the backing of amaechi, okorocha and oshiomole? Do you think they'll discard him so easily? Buhari without the backing of the rest of the northern elite is no different from tinubu and that's why, until he had their support in 2015, he was nowhere near aso rock! We as southerners should remember that we are more alike with than different from each other and unite! |
Laburos: sad but also true and that's why a united southern opposition will prevent any laws not in our interests from being passed |
Realman87:Maybe they won't but they should for the sake of our children, I don't want my children to be more qualified for a position and be bossed by a less qualified and uneducated fulani in the future! Think about it! |
Fineman87:I disagree! I know these people! I grew up and live with them and argue with them on a daily basis, and true they obviously and evidently would have enjoyed the maligning of the SS/SE had they gotten what they wanted! But the question is what do they want? And try and differentiate it from "what does tinubu want?" Because despite all appearances, tinubu isn't the south west! There's also fayose, afenifere, yoruba council of elders and many more! Should we abandon them too because of tinubu? The SS/SE have been fighting alone for some time now, how has it been working out? Not too well i tell you, how about we work together as a united south instead? Or this blame game circle will keep repeating itself! |
Fineman87:Remember we are talking about politics here and politics is a game of numbers above anything else and the herd will always defeat the individual in politics irrespective of that individuals skills! We must unite and become a herd to counter the northern herd |
Fineman87:Lol ![]() And what if i am from edo? An edo man is still more brotherly to you and less likely to kill you than a kastina man! The unification must be now not later because trust me, the events that culminated in tinubus cutting down didn't start yesterday and must have been going on for long including the analysis on what effects it would have and how to counter those effects! The hausa/fulani behind this would have been canvassing for political support from both the SS/SE against when they deal with tinubu and must have their machineries in place in our regions already, but we shouldn't allow their machineries deceive us and this your anger towards the SW is what northerners are banking on! Control your anger and don't let it control you! Use your sense and let's unite! |
Realman87:I am one such hediot ![]() We all need to be idi0ts now to be wise later Put aside your sentiments and bitterness! Let's do what's right so our children won't become slaves and second class citizens in our great country! The cycle of betrayal and bitterness must end! |
Realman87:Not all the yoruba's mind you! Mostly the young ones and the illiterates who bought into the propaganda and believed what they were told! The older and more educated like the afenifere and Yoruba Council Of Elders knew better and warned the rest but they were shouted down and insulted! Now that tinubu has been humiliated, the younger generation would come to political awakening and we must forgive and unite with them for our collective survival |
EternalTruths:We won't But we would unite with the southwest! We must for survival |
Realman87:You work with the north today, they discard you like used tissue tomorrow and work with the southwest tomorrow, the south looses, the north wins, I believe your post was made based on current political sentiments and you're smarter than it implies |
Realman87:I disagree |
patriotic9jaboy:Yoruba leads is a fallacy And let's pretend its true, then it won't be for long! Not in this climate! And i know you think it is funny but believe me, tinubu isn't laughing right now! And neither should you! |
Fineman87:Let's call a spade a spade, northern elites play "collective" long term politics so calling them chess masters is not out of place, southern politicians on the other hand specialise in "individual" short term politics and therein lies our failure! Calling northern politicians chessmasters shouldn't get us intimidated! It should help awaken us to the challenge we face and the realisation that as crafty as they are, we are craftier, we only choose to use our craftiness individually against each other hence we need to unify and shelve individual interests for group interests now! I don't know whether you watch game of thrones or not, but you come of to me as an idealist! And in politics, idealists get mauled by realist brutally! Check house stark for confirmation! So you insisting we are more enlightened than them is like house stark insisting they have more honour than other houses in westeros which while true, makes absolutely no difference in the long run! Make alliances of common interests accross the south and north central or get mauled like house stark! Now that is realism! |
Fineman87:My brother, the period between now and later is pregnant with many possibilities! If we leave them to suffer alone and they get used to it, then why will they be interested in unity later? They'll be used to the suffering and would rightly or wrongly feel the rest of the south abandoned them when they needed them most same as we are feeling betrayed by them when we needed them most! Two wrongs do not make a right! Let us swallow our pride, forgive each other and unite to survive |
onatisi:Prophet onatisi ![]() You no dey talk throway! Only question is, which way forward? My belief is a unified southern front is the only option, no other way! |
Fineman87:My brother make we talk true Chess masters dey for both north and south with the major difference being, chess for north na team game while for south na individual game and until we decide to unite and play team game, we go continue to loose! For example, during election campaign, how many PDP governors for north campaign against buhari and for jonathan? .......... You see wetin i mean? ![]() In the reverse case, which southern APC governor no actively campaign for buhari? From rachas to amaechi to fashola to aregbesola? Them no just campaign for am with mouth, dem campaign for am with money, na amaechi use dollars take buy votes when buhari take win nomination of APC instead of atiku while on the other hand northern PDP governors collect money for campaign from GEJ deposit am for their own private bank accounts. Shey you still need any more evidence? ![]() |
fulanimafia:Any correlation between my moniker and post isn't your purview to correlate as i doubt you have the unbiased mindset and intelligence to make that analysis and besides, that was a decent attemt at deflection! Nice try ![]() back to the topic Leadership is leadership whether military or civilian! Or is china practising democracy? Why should the type of government determine whether or not if there is development if the leader has genuine interests in developing his nation? Mind you, development and not freedom/human rights is what we are discussing here! So answer my questions...... Why shouldn't Nigeria develop economically and infrastructurally under a military junta with the interest of developing it unless the interest was never there in the first place? Gowon's government and its massive infrastuctural strides comes to mind as an exemption but then again he was deposed! Not in the national interests but in the hausa/fulani hegemony interests! For a government whose figurehead's touted incorruptability was the jingle sung during campaign, all the numerous accusations of corruption in his inner circle falling on deaf ears is interesting to say the least, so is the corruption accusations of the missing N2.8billion of 1978 and the perjury/lack of certificate that are yet to be disproved so who is he and the CPC to label PDP's 16 years as failed and corrupt i ask you? On the facade of ogoni clean up........ Well, we residents here in Nigeria have been inundated with at least 24 months of propaganda so we recognise propaganda when we see one and that's that for that topic! |
Dereformer:Check my previous posts! I am not yoruba and i am among those who said this will happen! Now that it has happened, it is good! Because our current young generation especially from the southwest will awaken politically and realise what their older generation were telling them before 2015! So now, the question is what happens after this, the arewa will want to co-opt the rest of the south politically with the pretence that the south west is the enemy and we should not let that happen! Because yesterday the south-south and south east were the enemy (maybe they still are) tomorrow it will be the south west, next tomorrow, who knows but one thing will remain constant, it will be the core north who decides who the enemy will be................... Unless we choose to wake up!! |
ificatchmodeh:Na serious matter oh my guy, for every move we make the chess masters up north really dey 10 moves ahead so now dem go soon start to dey woo and cajole the south east and south south with political appointments and what not but make that one no fool us at all because them go still discard us later! Be warned! |
fulanimafia:I never disputed that you weren't a dozen steps ahead! My mission here is to create awareness among the non political class in the south on where their true interests lie as they would be the ones deciding whom and who in the political class get to represent them! Talking about brain failure, have you looked in the mirror lately? Your attempt to pretend that Nigeria started its existence in 1999 is hilarious at best and self deceiving also, your pretence that Nigeria was eldorado and incorrupt pre-1999 is same, so tell me, who were Nigeria's rulers before 1999 and where did they come from? What was the state of our economy @ 1999 and what was it @ 2015! Your failed narrative cum jingle of 16 years of failed and corrupt PDP leadership only works with the gullible uneducated shee-ple massed up north who are your robots and serfs and whom you subjugate with weaponised ignorance cum religious sentimentalism to do your bidding! I don't belong to that clique hence i can tell you that the supposed "16 years of failed and corrupt PDP leadership" doesn't look so failed and corrupt when compared to "18 months of successful and incorrupt CPC leadership" and i know because i unlike you, lives and works in Nigeria not the U.K! I and most other Nigerians, (hausa/fulani excluded for obvious reasons) will rather have the 16years back! Thank you! |
48cents:At least you got some facts right! 1. Tinubu like a logos PDP chieftain once said is a local ludo champion who went to single handedly try his luck against national chess champions! (Keyword here being "ludo" which is a game of chance and "chess" being a game of tactics) 2. Tinubu's relevance even in the southwest after this will be as a mascot and figurehead, interests will be determined by consensus! And that is as it should be 3. Eventually, a united southwest will have to reach out to the southeast and south-south as the southwest alone won't prevail against the hausa/fulani hegemony's onslaught! And that is a politifact! And why should this be? Because alliances built on common interests outlasts alliances built on common enemies! The southeast and southwest have been convinced to see each other as enemies for sometime now but on a daily basis we live and interact with each other and have more in common with each other especially tolerance for differences than with people of the core north! 4. If we in the south play this right, then tinubu's humiliation would have been a necessary sacrifice and a blessing in disguise in the long run |
Progressive01:Your naivety and ignorance is both alarming and depressing! It is because of people like you that tinubu will fail and the south flounder!! Tinubu is irrelevant politically and all hot air on his own! A united south on the other hand...................now, that's something! Do us all a favour and shut up! We don't need you and others like you idolising tinubu and giving him a false sense of importance as he is humbly doing the important thing of mending fences and building bridges politically for your and our southern interests! Because our interests are far more important than his interests in case you have forgotten |
fulanimafia:Here is a typical example of what i have been saying! This is a typical fulani You'll notice that they understand that the southwest will close in ranks and using tinubu as their mascot, fight back! You'll also notice that he's targeting the southeast and a potential all southern unification because that is the real threat to them! Now we must all be smart (long term) and devoid of sentiments and shame this fulani failure on his weak attempt to derail a unified southern block from forming! Why? He is a failure because the hausa/fulani hegemony in power has failed Nigeria woefully and the fact that they choose to pretend otherwise shows them for who they are! The fulani are not Nigerians! The hausas are! So for all a fulani cares, Nigeria can go to hell as long as fulani interests are protected! We who are Nigerians must unite and resist this! |
bejeiodus:Get this! At this stage it isn't about jagaban anymore it is about the south west and entire south as a political force! We as southerners are educated and don't need political supermen! We should unite (south and north central) and destroy the CPC government! Because the hausa/fulani hegemony is alive and back and thriving thanks to buhari and the CPC! The only way they can stay in power is to divide and rule the rest of us by turning us against each other which we should be wise enough to realise and resist |
Dereformer:Don't be stupid! No alliance with the north will lasts as long as a united southern alliance simply because our interests in the south are very different from the interests of northerners and after they use you to secure power on the basis of a common political enemy in the southwest they'll discard you just like they're discarding tinubu and align with the southwest against you and the cycle will go on and on! So our common interests should be the only reason to align politically! And when i talk abouth the north, I'm referring to the core north not the the middle belt and north central with whom we share common values too! Them we should reach out to and cultivate in order to break the hausa/fulani yoke of hegemony on Nigeria |
sarrki:Don't be stupid ![]() You as the southwest have more interests in common with the so-called children of hate and anger! And after mending fences politically in the southwest you'll need to mend fences with the rest of the south especially with the so called "region of hate and anger" because that's the only way we will survive politically! Tinubu's political survival is irrelevant and secondary to the southwest and entire south's political survival so for once use the brain i believe you have and look at the big picture and stop being stupid! |
patriotic9jaboy:Buhari is not GEJ and tinubu is no lion neither is he a jagaban or whatever! He is being cut to size politically for all to see and as much as i would like to celebrate i won't because it doesn't potend well for all machineries of political power to be based north of the Niger and Benue! And even if i hate APC and tinubu, his was a genuinely southern power block in the APC even if he led the rest of the southwest to align politically with the north as against the rest of the south with whom they had more common interests You see, as reno omokri said, an alliance built on a common enemy as against a common interest only lasts as long as that enemy!! GEJ is gone, and now those with common interests are realigning and obviously the AC, CPC & nPDP don't have common interests and for now, the AC is being brutally subjugated! Now that's political karma As a south southerner i looked on with revulsion as young yoruba's insulted and maligned long established socio-political bodies of the south west like afenifere and the YCE on basis of their alignment with GEJ on the platform of common interests and now that the chicken has come home to roost, tinubu has to fall back on these bodies to prop him up. The result will be a more united southwest but a more diminished tinubu (no doubt he will be the mascot and poster boy for the southwest in public but in private, decisions will be made in concesus by all the power brokers) and that is a good thing My only hope and prayer is that after unifying the southwest, you'll mend fences with the southeast and southsouth politically and present a united southern front! Because that's the only way to survive the buhari pro hausa/fulani dictatorship cum neo feudalism |
CecyAdrian:Who gets to define what constitutes a threat to the country then? I vote me and hereby declare your stupidity a threat to the country and as such, you should be mindwiped! Also i declare buhari's tribalism, nepotism, fanaticism, and other isms a threat to the country and hereby proclaim a fatwa on him! His head is yours to lob of, would you do us the honours? ![]() Now that is a typical example of how easily the tables can turn if we put aside the rule of law and start making judgements based on personal bias! The law exists so that bias would have no sway in our polity |
loomer:My broda! You get sense jare ![]() |
TheGoodJoe:Holding bribe money according to........... ,,................... ................. ................ ............... .............. ............ ........ Wait for it! ......... .............. ............... ................ .............. Keep waiting ............ ........... ............ ......... DSS!!! oh! ![]() I could have saved us the trouble and simply typed "another c0ck and bull superstory scripted by the Daura Shoe Shiners to muscle recalcitrants into subservience" By the way, have they finally found the millions of dollars allegedly found in akwa ibom state house? ![]() No, I didn't think so, a discerning mind would be able to see the obvious pattern here........ Operative word "discerning" |
TheGoodJoe:No i won't spare you the legal jargon! The accusations bother on corruption and not threat to state security and as such becomes the purview of the EFCC and not the DSS!!! Gettit ? That is one fundamental fact that makes this c0ck and bull story crooked! < this gestapo style invasion is unwarranted as armed resistance isn't expected and thus these circumstantial evidence points to the theory that what is going on is beyond the childish face saving excuse being parrotted in the media especially if you put into context recent judgements by these judges! Pheew! Explanations bore me! I couldn't explain it better so there you go! |
TheGoodJoe:Oh! They're crooks already? Why bother prosecute then? Can't we just shoot them all gestapo style or incinerate them nazi SS style? ![]() Wouldn't you rather be gulping bowlfulls of soup rather than licking cracked lips? |
