Dry Eye's death came too easy, as an antagonist I expected way more from him. Yet the whole movie plot were straightforward. Abeg lemme see TAKE SHELTER and see if its worth the hype.

His death couldn't have come fast enough imho.

He wasn't a smart criminal. His Uncle was smart, but Dry Eyes got it into his stupid head that he can do better, and staged a coup, took over his Uncle's operations, try to upstage Mickey, and got a permanent reality check in return.

He got overambitious and paid dearly for it.

Sorry for the wrong use of word, I actually meant plot-wise it remind me of the Irishman. Though Irishman is way way deeper. As for the ascent :its British; with a whole lot of the word Bleep.

probably meant to say British cuz there was only one Irish in the cast which was Colin Farrell, they rest were mainly English, then American and Asians set in England.

Exactly.

In fact, I counted only 5 non English actors in that film. namely;

Mathew McConaughey,

The Jewish billionaire,

Dry Eye's Uncle,

The Russian Oligarch' son accidentally thrown from a window,

Colin Farrell.

The rest of the cast were English, even Dry Eyes.

Please drop a review after.

5 episode in and it has been great so far. It's equal parts science fiction and psychological thriller.

Some of the actors can't act for shit, esp the lead actress, but thanks to the strong sci-fi themes, you'd hardly notice it.

Let's just say if you're a fan of the movie,Ex-Machina, you're gonna love this TV show. They are both cut from the same cloth.

Does narcos got any sex scenes??

And which should I watch first Narcos 1st or Narcos: Mexico? Although I Know Narcos came out first.

There's a few in Narcos. None in Narcos: Mexico.

Watch Narcos first. It's more action packed and bonkers than the more political Narcos: Mexico.

One of the reasons why I hate those CIA, FBI series is because they're always successful with their mission in every episode. They won't even leave those criminals or terrorists to have their day.
Does anyone know of any that isn't built like this?

In Narcos: Mexico season 1, The US government had their ass handed to them by Felix Gallardo.

Although, they rebounded to a lucky victory at season 2's season finale, after having lost again to Felix Gallardo, earlier in the season.

That Boston museum heist still dey wonder me till this day.

El Chapo is currently cooling his heels inside one of the most secure maximum security prison in US. Let's just say the guy won't be digging more excape tunnels for the foreseeable future, lol.

The Boston museum heist was simplicity at it's finest. Sometimes, the best heists are ones that doesn't require a lot of planning. Your only weapons; spontaneity and the element of surprise.

Spoiler Alert!!!!!

So I thought too, but honestly, i wasn't fully convinced, that's why i asked the question at the end of the review.

IMO, the flick was primarily about a person who is suffering from a mental illness that was escalating within him.

Let's not forget one important thing that was made known to us throughout the movie, which was: Curtis was broke as hell & struggling to make ends meet, he even gets fired at work. Ok, when Samantha found out that he took a loan for the shelter she became rankled at him, cause she knew it was very unwise of him financially thus, she gets mad at him because she knew they had no funds and Curtis was building a shelter with the loan he acquired. And again, they needed to pay back the loan on the storm shelter, though the psychiatrist suggested that they go on a trip & at one time, they even planned it....................But the honest truth is that they probably can't go on this one, cause they are still in debt & have no finance for such comfort, & besides, they still have the cost of Hannah's operation to contend with.

Consequentially, I'd say that, that last scene was also a dream by Curtis, a dream were his mental state of health seems to be getting worse. That's what makes more sense to me of what the underlying ending of the movie entails. Superficially, it may also be what it is, as was shown to us, hence, making it a controversial ending for me.

The film has two distinct possibilities; the literal possibility and the allegory possibility.

If you watch it purely at face value( literal possibility), his premonitions really seem to be real. The storm actually became a reality, and he was vindicated in the end.

However if you watch it allegorically, it's a story of a man coming to terms with his mental illness, probably schizophrenia.

I prefer to interpret it literally. It's the better outcome of the two possibilities for the man and his family.

Take Shelter(2011)....8/10
Genre: Drama, Horror, Thriller

A slow paced thought-provoking and emotional flick, with a story that grabs you by the balls & never let go till the end credits starts rolling out, fused to a stunning performance that envelopes you empathically, in the world of Curtis and Samantha.
Character development was superb, the splendor of the cinematography was well emphasized by this motion picture.
The ending was very controversial, in the sense that ......................................& i totally fancied the flick for that.
So, prognostication or lunacy, which is it

Friends, acquaintances, co-workers and neighbors thought the man was crazy. Even I at some point thought he was crazy.

The ending wasn't controversial, the ending revealed the advent of the apocalyptic storm he foretold. He was right all along.

You keep using the word fiction, is it not common knowledge that greater heist and breakouts have occurred in this world?

True.

Mexican drug Kingpin, El Chapo, literally dug himself out of prison, not once, but twice, lol.

Then one of the most outrageous and successful heist in the history of heists;

Two criminals disguised as cops strolled into a museum in Boston, and after overcoming the guards, spent an hour ransacking the whole museum for it's most priced valuables, before making off with 13 works of arts valued at half a billion USD! No arrests were ever made because no one knew who the fvck they were. grin

That's an L

Have it your way if it makes you happy.

I'm stating that it doesnt have factors which would make it a telenovela...

It does though. Too much screen time is given to romantic angles and emotional scenes, and less time to plot development. Below are few similarities it shares with a typical telenovela.

1. A love triangle.

2. There's always emotional tantrums/melodrama.

3. The women all look like supermodels.

4. Someone always gets severely injured or dies.

5. Money Heist won Colombian Best International series of 2018 under Telenovela category.

Lastly, stop giving yourself HBP over something that's irrelevant. Telenovela or not, Money Heist is very entertaining and fans love it for this. This is what ought to matter, yes?

For instance, I recently concluded an American telenovela, Why Women Kill, and it was entertaining asf.

Has anyone seen bodyguard here?

So I've been watching bodyguard and after it was confirmed at the hospital that the home secretary was indeed dead by the doctor, I am now finding it very difficult to continue with the series.

Just two episodes to go and i don't have that zeal to finish it.

I mean i was beginning to like the actress more and what she has going with the bodyguard and wanted to see what will really happen before they decide to kill her off and i was like! What!!!!!

Guys that are through with the series, should i continue or just give up?

I don't want to waste my data.

Keep at it.

There's more to it than the demised home secretary.

In other news Homeland has one more episode to go.

One more final episode. Don't know if there will be another like it. An actual intelligence series where the lead actors(Carrie, Saul, Brody) weren't gun swinging protagonist.

Anyone with a good recommendation like Homeland , please quote this.

3 episodes actually. It's a 12 episode season.
