People posting food here do not owe U any obligation to name their food after after whatever u think makes u feel good in the presence of Ur "non Nigerian" friends.

First and foremost We are Nigerians posting on a Nigerian blog sharing whatever we prepare in our kitchen with our fellow Nigerians. Nigerians use words like "local rice" to let u know the rice they are referring to is the rice grown in Nigeria and not the imported Thai Parboiled that is common to us all; Nigerians say "native jollof rice" to make u know the jollof rice being referred to is one that has native ingridients like locust beans, dried fish, palm oil, scent leaf etc.

This in no way implies those words are derogatory and do not convey such meanings to the person being addressed. For example when u asked holycon what she posted and she said it's "local salad" almost all of us understood what she meant and didn't see any attempt at belittling our own delicacies in her post. (She even added a laughing emoji in that post)....Nobody is embarrassing anybody by calling their food a name everyone can easily relate with.

You are the one who needs to drop this Ur newly found political correctness at the doorstep of this thread and pick it when u are done viewing/commenting on food posts.

Sorry, Wanted to type autum is already here. My worst time of the yr.
Summer this yr was huge disappointment. Some people were asking have we entered sumer yet. Raining, cold, little sunlight. Lots of things I hoped to sun dry outside, couldn't because the sun was scarce.
Hope next yr we will have more sunlight.

sorry jare I had low battery....yes I bought it and it was totally useless for puff puff barter.. was hard for the barter to come out. maybe if the barter was watery it would have worked but that would have been a disaster as far as puff puff is concerned

Yes i learnt from you never to break my spag before cooking and to do away with adding oil to the water and its been bye bye to soggy spaghetti since then.....thank you

1.When cooking your spaghetti, add enough water.

2.make sure you bring your water to boil before you put in your spaghetti.

For those in Nigeria who always say dangote spaghetti have enough starch reason for the oil in water.

1. Don't over cook the spaghetti.

2. Your timing can never be right sometimes,always take one out of the pot to check if is close to soft.

3. Before you place your spaghetti in your tomatoes stew after you drain, add little oil and toss. this is the best way to use oil for spaghetti not the other way round.

I taught some folks this method when I was invited to NYSC camp Nasarawa and Abuja some years back and they all loved it.

I don't know o. Its what they wrote on it i quoted. What I know is that it carries my freezer, small fridge and electric sewing machine at once.
