The problem should stop but cannot stop in one week, i guess. Nigeria has many problems, this is just one 'micro'(compared to the many problems) problem that we remembered this week. For example, executive wise, minister BTO of Interior is in charge of this in a way. You cannot really fault him as idle so far. The judiciary also has a big role to play. The problem here is that they were malnourished, not that they are young. The whole system is malnourished, so let's not make it political or party. It's decades of neglect and underfunding, both outside and inside. Other hundreds of thousands of people are also in detention till tomorrow, malnourished and languishing without a sentence. It should not be, but it is what it is, and has been so for ages.
Let's not transfer our aggression and frustration to one man, Tinubu. He is not the cause of their problems. It is not a Tinubu problem, but a family failure and religious leadership failure problem. Tinubu has probably failed you, why did you not go about looting generators, computers, and freezers? Why did you not carry Russian flags or burn down police stations and Federal government property? If you have children their mates, would your children do that? If no, has Tinubu 'passed' them?
In their society, these ones are old enough for voting, marriage, kidnapping, banditry, hard drugs, labour and business, government work and government palliatives/grants, and virtually everything else except the consequences of their actions. We can choose to be continually sentimental though. Let's give good optics.
The question is what has Tinubu improved on since he entered ?

it's almost 2 years already, what has Tinubu improved on?

The problem of the judiciary and law enforcement didn't start today. Better to avoid police trouble. You can't go about looting, burning and calling for war and instability and expect rest and lolly pop.
So if the problem didn't start today, does it mean it should not stop?

Does it mean Tinubu should continue with it?

You are right about optics and politics. Our law enforcement is messed up from decades. Minors can't just go Scot free for being minors. We have many minors as foot soldiers in the North especially, committing all kinds of crimes from bandits to herdsmen to boko haram to religious murderers and jungle justice. Are you saying all these crimes should be overlooked once they are minors involved or what? What part of the universe allows people go Scot free because they are minors? If you are asking for juvenile protection in their judgment and punishment, i understand. But scot free, mbah no capital NO.
Is that the reason the FG should keep minors in detention for up to 3 months and starve them?

Fvck the juvenile delinquents.

They're not useful in anyway.

Fvck their parents who can't raise them.

If you offend them, they are gonna cause the mob to behead you.

If they want to do worse, they'll accuse you of blasphemy and burn you. They're the labour force behind mob killings of those accused of blasphemy.

If you're not wearing an hijab as a young female teenager, they're gonna stone you even if you're Christian.

They looted a multimillion tech complex .

So fvckkkkkk them and their parents, their Imams and political leaders.

They're already brainwashed and wouldn't add anything to the economy.

Tinubu, you got this one right by reducing the number of bandits and terrorists Nigeria has to worry about.

Additionally, they're the underage voters you've probably heard of.

They do adult things and should be punished for their godforsaken crimes.

Once again, fvck the little subhumans.
They are not useful to you people anymore because you people have gotten what you wanted with them...

The very same people you are calling useless and calling for their death are the very same people Tinubu used to gather votes to make Buhari president in the north and also the very same people he used Muslim Muslim ticket to cajole to vote for him...

Now they can die for all you care, when election reach you begin to tell them that the Igbos are their enemies that you love them and Igbos hate them...

I hope the northerners are taking notes and learning....

After joining the North to elect Balewa, didn't you people later turn around to complain of his misgovernance so much as to stage a bloody coup to remove him illegally? By that alone, you and your people were the first in the history of Nigeria to later complain of the very choice you made.
Others complain but not to the point of taking up arms to kill those they voted into power and even kill innocent persons alongside.
Are you saying we were the ones who also elected Akintola and the Sarduana?

Because last time I checked it was a regional government with each region having his regional head and prime minister who wasn't as power as a president today...

So how could have 1 single person as a prime minister be blamed for the entire bad governance in the country then when he had limited powers and control?

Unlike a president today like Tinubu...

I'm not surprised though, you guys love to blame the Igbos at any slight opportunity...

Without prejudice to the fact that Tinubu made it clear that the implementation of his campaign promises would cause temporary microelectronic discomfort at first but ease out later into prosperity,
the guy here is far better than you lots because he could be adjudged to have supported Tinubu when he innocently assumed he would meet up with his expectation hence he made a choice he innocently thought was right and now he is honest (though an ill informed honesty) to acknowledge he made a wrong choice. But per you lots who already knew and with your own mouths adjudged Peter Obi to be a failure many years before 2023, all of a sudden queued up behind him tagging him the long awaited messiah. Nothing could be a better example of a deliberate wrong choice. Look at the thread here where you yourselves called Obi a monumental failure before 2023: Happy reading.

Why not just stick to the question of what convinced you that Tofa was better than Abiola, Shagari was better than Zik or Awolowo, Obasanjo was better than Falae, and that Balewa was better than your own Zik in heading the coalition government at independence?
How come you lots are so good at chosing candidates yet your SE region remains so badly ungoverned till today by virtue of throwing up the likes of Mr. Kerosene in Abia State, Theodore Orji, Peter Obi who invested public funds in a moribund private company?

You see why I don't take any analysis by APC supporters seriously that they are growing the Nigerian economy or that they have increased allocation to state governors or minimum wage, that's because they only increased the economy in numbers but less in Value just like Lagos, what Jonathan and OBJ gave as allocation had more value than what Tinubu is giving...

A people who voted en bloc for a barely educated Alhaji Bashir Tofa against MKO an First Class Accountancy graduate of the University of Glasgow, and also, at independence, preferred an alliance that would place power in the hands of people from the most educationally backward part of the country while rejecting the offer for an alliance which would have had their own highly educated Azikiwe at the helms of power are now beating their chests about making the right choices in election.
These people never cease to amuse me. So the Obasanjo you all gave bloc votes in 1999 without any known manifesto was better than the Olu Falae who brandished a manifesto that had the potential to turn Nigeria to an industrialized nation within 15 years? The Yaradua you votes for in 2007 was better than your own Ojukwu who in addition to being a graduate of the prestigious Oxford University, presented the best manifesto since the return of this democracy? You people should just restrict yourself to comedy section please.

I hope you realize the governors actually sued the FG on this matter and won. The FG was acting outside the constitution and everyone knew it. You have to govern accord to throws of the land else, it is all a waste.

This line of argument is lazy. Was the ECA Account illegal or not? It doesnt matter if every government have used it, it remains the illegal creation of Obasanjo. You must govern by the laws.
You also fail to dispute that the FG was beginning to spend the money without informing the governors and asking their approval. This was why Amaechi was particularly pissed. How can 37 people put money together then one starts spending at as though it is his personal piggy bank.

Do not rewrite history, some of us actually know what happened.

The FG was spending it on their raining day and what keeping a grip on the states funds. Sounds like fraud and abuse of power don't you think?
Firstly, The money was not put there by 37 people, it was money made from selling excess crude oil, that is why it called ECA(excess crude oil account), how does that translate to contributions from 36 states and the FCT...

It is not tax revenue, that's how you people lie anyhow...

Secondly if the account was illegal and the FG was drawing money out of it without the notice of the governors, was the best decision to share it ?

Couldn't they have requested to tranfer it to the foreign reserves account where they will be able to monitor it?

Must they share it for immediate eating? I'm not surprised though, most of the people who requested to share it are those in power now and we can see how the country is...

And yet you are here justifying rubbish...

Because what you are actually supporting here is since the FG was eating from the money the governors forced the FG to share the money to have their own share of the money...

Only one governor opposed it and that was Peter Obi and yet you are here trying to justify nonsense that since the FG was eating it without record then the Governors decided to share it and have their own like there was no option to transfer it to the foreign reserve, no wonder you support the nonsense the same leaders are doing in office today....

Nnamdi Azikiwe Is Why Biafra Has No Legal Right To Secede

The recent comments by Peter Obi labelling former Head of State, General Gowon, as an 'enemy' to be 'forgiven' has emboldened many of his closet IPOB supporters who now wear the tag Obidients (which in reality is the political arm of the Indigenous People of Biafra movement) to revise history and make fallacious and salacious claims.

One such claim was made by a certain Onyekwelu, who asserts that Biafra has a legal claim to secede and is being extrajudicially held back in Nigeria by domestic and international powers, especially the British government.

The idea for a secession clause was mooted by Chief Obafemi Awolowo in 1954 during the Lagos Constitutional Conference, but Nnamdi Azikiwe rejected it and galvanised a majority of the conference attendees to kill the idea.

Nnamdi Azikiwe himself wrote about this in an essay published by the New Nigerian Newspapers in 1975. It has since been republished by other papers and by Mr Azikiwe himself.

For the benefit of those who have been misled by the likes of Peter Obi and their fellow fantasists, I will now republish Mr. Nnamdi Azikiwe's essay.

'My opposition to secession

By Nnamdi Azikiwe

When the 1954 constitution conference started, my good friend, Chief Obafemi Awolowo tabled a motion to the effect that in the new constitution, provision should be made that any state which feels like seceding should do so. I was opposed to it and said ‘no’ and said that once we have a federation, we are indivisible and perpetual.

So a full day was given to Chief Awolowo to make his points. He spoke brilliantly as a lawyer. He made his points why secession should be incorporated in the Constitution. He cited the case of the Soviet Union which is a federation, and that secession is written there so that any state in the Soviet Union can secede at will. He also cited the case of Western Australia and eventually he finished his case and was applauded.

Lord Chandos said that on the face of the arguments before him it would be suicidal to incorporate secession in our constitution and that is why we have section 86 in our constitution that if any region or state should secede, then it will be an act of treason.

We adjourned. The next day, I had to reply. I availed myself of the opportunity to, well, demolish the arguments of my friend and I cited the case of United States which based its constitution on that of the Swiss Confederation. That is Switzerland. I pointed out a case, I think, that of Texas versus White, where Mr. Salmon Chase, the Chief Justice laid down the principle – he was really an arbiter – that the union was intended to be perpetual and indivisible and that any attempt to divide the union by secession was treasonable.

The North (NPC) supported Action Group. The question was then: Should we have secession? The Colonial Office came to our rescue. You know, the usual principle of Britain – ‘divide and rule’ (laughs) but this time, it was in our favour. So, the colonial office backed us.

Lord Chandos said that on the face of the arguments before him it would be suicidal to incorporate secession in our constitution and that is why we have section 86 in our constitution that if any region or state should secede, then it will be an act of treason and that was what led to this war, because Col. Ojukwu seceded and so violated the constitution."

Biafra would have had the legal right to secede if it had not been for Azikiwe.

Even before that conference, Mr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, in a speech he gave at a caucus meeting of the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons on Monday, May 12, 1953, threatened the Northern Region of a blockade and denial of access to the sea if they should attempt to secede from Nigeria.

His exact words were as follows:

"It may lead to economic nationalism in the Eastern Region, which can pursue a policy of blockade of the North by refusing it access to the sea"
Why do you want to stay with people you claim hate you?
