Wallade: Ask Lagos State government to show you proof.
Better still challenge the demolition of those properties in court, this will compel Lagos state government to show you the proof in court.
Simple! So you are making a claim on behalf of the government you have no proof of? |
Politics › Re: Trade Fair Demolitions: Senator Umeh Condemns LASG Action, Labels It Illegal by Brendaniel: 7:15am On Oct 07, 2025 |
Wallade: To destroy those buildings in Anambra and Abia, was court order not secured by the state government?
Once the court orders the demolition, then it becomes legitimate. I have already responded to this claim, the situations are different |
Politics › Re: Trade Fair Demolitions: Senator Umeh Condemns LASG Action, Labels It Illegal by Brendaniel: 7:14am On Oct 07, 2025 |
Wallade: No, sealing the building was not an option. The court ordered demolition.
Simple! Which court? Which order? can you please show proof to that? |

Wallade: When your property in any state or FCT contravenes the law, it risks demolition.
Don't blame Lagos State government or any government for implementing the law by demolishing unapproved buildings. Where in the law did they state demolition is the only way to execute the law of building contavention? |
Politics › Re: Trade Fair Demolitions: Senator Umeh Condemns LASG Action, Labels It Illegal by Brendaniel: 5:10am On Oct 07, 2025 |
Mynd44: Why didn't Edo, Anambra and Abia state government just seal.
It isn't an option in those states?
Nigerians don't understand consequences. The buildings destroyed in Anambra and Abia were for road construction, that's a different issue, is Lagos building any road in trade fair? |
Politics › Re: Trade Fair Demolitions: Senator Umeh Condemns LASG Action, Labels It Illegal by Brendaniel: 5:01am On Oct 07, 2025 |
Mynd44: They had ample time to comply, they had time to get approvals, I hope you know some developers did. Those don't have 2 heads do they? So are you saying sealing the buildings wasn't an option? |
Politics › Re: Trade Fair Demolitions: Senator Umeh Condemns LASG Action, Labels It Illegal by Brendaniel: 4:54am On Oct 07, 2025 |
Mynd44: Obviously you want to ignore salient points and argue just because you want to argue.
Tell the develop to go to court. The same court the ruled that the state government has the right on building approval matters in. 2003 No one is arguing on whether they have the rights of approval here, the issue is the demolition, is the government designed to guide or fight the people? Doesn't this look like revenge? A building is not something people build in a day, it is not a car people park and you can just tow away and return, so destroying it was the best solution? A whole state government that should be encouraging decorum and good behavior is behaving like agbero. so you are are telling me that destroying people's sweat is the best solution a whole state government could offer when they could use police to seal off the place and ask everyone to go get their approvals from them? ' |
Politics › Re: Trade Fair Demolitions: Senator Umeh Condemns LASG Action, Labels It Illegal by Brendaniel: 4:38am On Oct 07, 2025 |
Mynd44: No, this is false.
Under the Nigerian Urban and Regional Planning Act of 1992, only state governments are allowed to issue building approvals whether on FG land or anywhere else. Those building must seek approvals.
Who do we blame when the developers went as far as beating up government agents last year who went to serve notices and inspect the illegality? So because some people beat up the agents there then the best solution is demolition? what happened to arrest and prosecution? |
Politics › Re: Trade Fair Demolitions: Senator Umeh Condemns LASG Action, Labels It Illegal by Brendaniel: 4:35am On Oct 07, 2025 |
Mynd44: The government gave them time to apply, some complied, others refused.
Heck they even beat up staff of the state government who went to dialogue with them last year.
What else should government do? Keep allowing illegality? Are you saying the people there are more powerful than the state government ? |
Politics › Re: Trade Fair Demolitions: Senator Umeh Condemns LASG Action, Labels It Illegal by Brendaniel: 4:13am On Oct 07, 2025 |
Mynd44: Senator Umeh is right but also very wrong.
When it comes to federal government estates, and land sold by the FG the FG takes jurisdiction but only on land being developed by the FG. Example: if the FG is building an army building inside a barracks, it is entirely on the exclusive list and the state has no say but the moment the FG sells the land to a non government party, such person(s) must get approvals from the state to build even after getting FG approvals.
This was the hubris of the builders who assumed that they had no business with the state even when the state asked that they come and apply for permits and get approval Why didn't the state government just seal the buildings and ask all owners to go and get approvals from the state before opening the buildings? so the best solution is to start destroying people's sweat? look at what you people are trying to defend, is the government designed to guide the people or to fight them? Doesn't this look like vendetta? I mean they said the people did not get approvals, why not seal the buildings and tell the people to get approvals, you people just like defending evil... |

He institutionalized corruption, his government looted the country into recession. The kleptocratic system of government, sharing our money among the elites we are witnessing till date was laid down by him. Your hero is among those that screwed Nigeria. Deal with it. CoronaVirusPro: In as much as I commend such move by the Great Óbá of Benin, It would have been more appreciated if the Oba can use same authority to ban market women, land owners, transporters extortion.
That will go a long way. Since many governors are too dumb to make the move, the Great Óbá of Benin should lead. Have your Oba of Lagos done that in Lagos, see hypocrisy... The same people constantly attack the Igbos for matters that only concerns Igbos in another region outside Igbo land like Ohaneze or Eze ndigbo, but they are the real dis-respecters of people's culture, tradition and society. Look at Iyaloja here that her position is supposed to be restricted to just Lagos and maybe a few Yoruba states is imposing leadership and disrespecting other cultures and tradition in different parts of Nigeria, and guess what, these same Yorubas are all quiet and some even coming to to support it. Then you look at the case of the Emir of Kano, Tinubu has ensured there are 2 Emirs till date, something that is a state issue, they are busy disrespecting the Kano emirates and their culture, still the doings of a Yoruba man and they are all quiet and and some still supporting him. Then you look at the case of Rivers state, You removed a sitting governor and appointed a man from another state against the wish of the people of the state, these very same Yorubas were all quiet and a lot supported it. Now pause for a moment and imagine if the people who did all these were Igbos, even the media will start writing articles about how the Igbos plotted coup to dominate Nigeria and this is likely a repeat of what happened then, I'm telling you that with what Tinubu and the Yorubas have done presently to other Nigerians if it were to be Igbos doing same under Peter Obi or any Igbo president, Igbos may have been attacked in the north and south west. The Yorubas would have been all over the place shouting out their voices how Igbos like to dominate and so on, that's why I don't believe whatever they say about the Kaduna Nzeogwu coup that it was an Igbo coup. From what I've learned from them, they are only looking for an action to blame the Igbos even if the action is good, and that false thing they are blaming the Igbos for is actually what they are doing or planning to do if they have the opportunity like Tinubu's presidency. Like I do say, Tinubu's presidency exposed a whole lot in Nigeria especially from the Yorubas... |
