Sellfish: There is this saying in law that "he who owns the land owns everything on it"
As a proud Yoruba guy, I can comfortably tell you that regardless of who builds what in Lagos, Lagos and everything in it belongs to the Yorubas
Federal Government also built any infrastructure in Portharcourt and Kano...Why haven't you and your likes claimed ownership of those places too?
Una don see we Yorubas finish, that's why y'all have the guts to trash-talk us Firstly, kindly list all the projects you are talking about in those places to prove equity in project distribution. Secondly it doesn't mean you people should be lying that you built Lagos. Thirdly, are you trying to tell us that you people are just like parasites who like to feed on the sweat of others? |

Richtaiwo: The progress of those countries lie on their citizens who have taken time to study hard and come up with several productive outcomes. Those citizens aren't like most illiterate Nigerians who keep hoping the government will one day start crediting their accounts with trillions of naira every month.
For instance, do you know some Nigerians don't understand the difference between "there" and "their" even though English is the official language of communication? A good example is the comment I just quoted. Something as basic as punctuation is also a rocket science to them. I'm sure you deliberately didn't read the news or maybe did not comprehend the recent news about China sentencing some of their leaders to death for corruption, In everything you wrote here you only blamed the citizens for the problems of Nigeria without holding those in power accountable. So you think Chinese citizens just became patriotic without the leaders being more patriotic in example to them? You guys just come and talk nonsense to support the evil in Aso rock destroying Nigeria... |

They were all built in Lagos some people are now claiming that the evil in Aso rock built, the money used in building all these were coming from oil from the south but they tell you that they own Lagos.
This is only Yakubu Gowon, there were 5 presidents after him who still kept on building Lagos, but today they want to claim Lagos and give glory to the evil in Aso rock for building Lagos |

Politics › Re: Fuel Scarcity: Petrol Black Marketers Resurface On Abuja Streets by Brendaniel: 7:58pm On Sep 30, 2025 |
Judolisco: no mini fuel scarcity anywhere... That's why I said if it's in Abuja then it's on the filling stations... If u dey Abuja for like 5 yrs now and u get car, you'll understand what I'm saying Since May 2023, there have been several significant periods of fuel scarcity in Nigeria, not just one continuous event. The situation has been exacerbated by the removal of the fuel subsidy in May 2023, the subsequent floatation of the naira, and logistics issues, which have all led to higher fuel prices and distribution challenges. Major periods of fuel scarcity since May 2023 May 2023: Immediately following the removal of the fuel subsidy by President Bola Tinubu, Nigerians experienced an immediate and significant surge in fuel prices and widespread queues at filling stations. October–November 2023: A scarcity was reported in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and other states, including Nasarawa and some South-East and South-South regions. This was reportedly caused by insufficient supply from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL). March–May 2024: Fuel queues re-emerged across the country, particularly in Abuja and Lagos, lasting for over two weeks. At this time, marketers attributed the issue to NNPCL's outstanding debt to international oil traders, which had slowed imports. July–August 2024: A renewed crisis caused severe disruptions, leading to long queues and economic challenges. Supply issues were partly linked to logistics and debts to marketers. September 2024: Another period of scarcity occurred, with the NNPCL acknowledging its debt to petrol suppliers, which had put pressure on the company and threatened a sustainable fuel supply. February 2025: A potential scarcity loomed as tanker drivers threatened a strike, citing harassment from officials and logistical issues, which could disrupt fuel delivery. September 2025: The country faced generation shortfalls on the national grid due to industrial action by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) within the gas supply chain. |

YesDaddyTill203: So she jumped out of fear? She's partly responsible for her own death. I will not be surprised to hear later that the robbers didn't even venture near her. The hospitals are a microcosm of the Nigerian society; it's about money, greed, selfishness, and unethical behavior.
What you get in any Nigerian hospital is what you get from an average Nigerian. They are a reflection of the society in which they operate. So what is the purpose of having a government ? You people just throw common sense and logic away when talking sometimes in a bid to defend nonsense because of ethnic support... |

donproject2: May her soul rest in peace.
A certain hospital rejecting an emergency case doesn't necessarily show incompetence or lack of empathy, they may not have the necessary facilities to handle the case. You can't, for example, take a dental issue to an ENT clinic, they don't match, they won'tentertain that.
I am using this example of these specialist hospitals to show that some hospitals may not have the necessary facilities to attend to some special cases.
It saddens my heart when I heard or see cases like this. Someone, somebody's daughter, sleeping peacefully at her home, where she believed there is a maximum security, will just wake to the horrible noise of armed robbery. It is so so sad.
May her soul rest in perfect peace once again, I pray that God console her loved ones she left behind. Didn't you read that the reason for the rejection was because they were asking for ID card which the people could not provide at the the time... The non treatment was a systemic failure... |

helinues: Some Nigerians are just so insensitive. So Wike should be held responsible for the killings of the Arise journalist.
Which society is producing the criminals, who are their parents? If I may ask, what is the purpose of having a government? Because sometimes it looks like you Tinubu supporters are so blinded by your support that you forget the primary purpose of a government, part of the government's responsibility is to address the failure of the people. So indirectly you are telling Nigerians that if bandits and terrorists are killing them, they should go and hold the parents of the bandits responsible? just look at your warped reasoning, Charlie Kirk was killed by a boy in America, did anybody hold the boy's parents responsible for it?You guys are always looking for excuse to defend Tinubu's failures, truely there is always an excuse for failure, you even used the word insensitive in your defense, you, Tinubu and Wike are the heartless and wicked people because you guys are busy playing politics with the lives of Nigerians.Moroccoguy: Obasanjo is the no 1 failure if he had reacted to SSS report in 2006 it may not have escalated to this level, all affected states are state with mineral resources which illegal mining is going on. aribisala0: What is important or relevant to you depends on your intellect which is not the same as mine
You cannot impose your standards on me
What is relevant to me is facts and evidence not sentiments or polemic
Facts are LASG claims the buildings have no papers if any aggrieved person disagrees they can go to court or even social media
Fact is LASG declared an amnesty and extended did any aggrieved person try to avail themselves of this opportunity again evidence required
Fact is there is a Supreme Court judgment from 2003 when Yemi Osinbajo was Attorney General The federal government cannot issue building permits is the interpretation of LASG anyone who disagrees can go to court That is what is important to me at my intellectual level
At your level it is whether the government was blind when the buildings went up
So different things are relevant to different brains At the bolded, we can see the standard you people have imposed on Nigerians with Tinubu coupled with the one Tinubu you support imposed on Nigeria twice with Buhari.. We can see how the country is in terms of relevance to you and Tinubu's brains, I mean take a look at the country, it terms of relevance according to you people's brains., isn't it clear why the country is the way it is today... |
Politics › Re: Tradefair Complex: South East Group Condemns LASG ‘Invasion’. by Brendaniel: 9:07am On Sep 30, 2025 |
aribisala0: That is not relevant to me You can contact the government for explanation
What I do know is that there were thousands of buildings with no permit in Lagos and last year the government declared an amnesty for people to do the needful https://www.housingtvafrica.com/lagos-state-introduces-three-month-amnesty-for-owners-of-buildings-without-permits/4 They extended that deadline more than once
https://punchng.com/gov-extends-amnesty-for-illegal-buildings-to-december/
So people had plenty of time and opportunities to do the right thing Some people have a habit of not obeying the law
How many of those playing victim with one card or another can show how they followed due process in the first instance or failing that tried to take advantage of the amnesty and were denied The bolded up there is why Nigeria is where it is today, important thing are not relevant to those in power and their supporters like you, I mean look at Nigeria of today, does it look like what normal people are governing ? As usual throw away logic and common sense that talks about the important issues and count them as irrelevant then focus on pettiness and nonsense that adds no value to the country. That is the Nigeria of today under Tinubu while people like you cheer him for nonsense... |

aribisala0: You did not answer the question Are you saying government is incapable of telling truth Crucially you have not evidenced why we should disbelieve government Has anyone tendered any permit? Did Lagos state government mark the buildings as they claimed Did Lagos state declare an amnesty last year calling people to regularise their papers
You have your own version of logic and common sense
Which at this point is of no relevance
The issue was the claim by the government that they do not have permission from LASG to build
That is a binary it is either true or false.
There's clearly a legal dispute. Anyone who feels aggrieved would need to go to court So are you saying the government was blind when people were building there for years and even started using the place for commercial activities? |
