Are you saying the government is incapable of telling truth
That is why we need to apply logic and common sense when dealing with such matters....

My point is the government should not act like the people who built there are the only people at fault, the government itself is be blamed more going by anything and as such might even need to pay some form of compensation to every affected building owner....

That is what the government said .

The government spokesperson. Omotosho came out and made the claim on TV
I have not heard any one come out to contradict him

I do not need to be sure
I am not an interested party and this is not a court
My certainty is irrelevant which makes your question meaningless

Maybe you should study philosophy. Your questions are now losing connywitg the topic and becoming academic.

I have no time for that philosophy discuss.
You cannot answer because the truth is staring you in the face but you want to keep living in denial, Where in the world do you see followers leading their leaders by example?

Is it Banks, religious bodies, schools and so on?

but in Nigeria people like you want us to believe that leadership by example starts from the followers, you people flip logic over its head.

The reason Nigeria is the way it is today is because of people like you, just look at the country today, does it look like what normal people are governing?

Followers emulate their leaders, show me any institution you know that the leaders emulate the followers but to you guys logic should be thrown away to support your person.

Leading by example starts with you and i. It starts with the ordinary citizens because the government is a product of the ordinary citizens.

Members of the government are actually selected from the citizens.

If we can't be disciplined individuals who respect the laws and positions of the government. If we want to pervert the law by bribing and influencing government representatives or employees to achieve out selfish desires. Then government will be in ruins and we will subsequently blame the government too.
So what do we have leaders for?

Why do we have a government?

If the citizens are the ones to lead by example then what is the purpose of leadership?

Why do we have leaders?

If everybody can just become good then what is the purpose of government?

Are you or anyone superior to the state government when it comes to allocation and permits on use of land within her territory?

How could a state government demolition properties without proper documentation to prove the properties are illegal.

If you want to see the government documentation showing that those properties are illegal, you will have to go to court to ask the government, not me.

You are the one that said your fellow Igbo developers may have prove of bribery and they might have written petitions to the appropriate authority on that allegation. That is what we asked you to show, if you have a copy of the petition.
So you are trying to tell me that the state government can never do wrong?

To prosecute anyone for giving and taking bribe, the giver of the bribe must make the allegations with substantial proofs and then the receivers can be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.

Please note that both giver and receiver, where proven, committed a crime punishable by law.

Please, can you tell your Igbo developers that might or must have given bribe and have proofs to come up with their allegations to the Lagos State government through petitions. They can also be advised to go to court if they are aggrieved or have a case to prove.
Are you sure if they haven't done that and they were not listened to?

Stop defending what’s not. EVERYBODY knows that property is a government property, and instead of you accusing those who built illegally on it, you are still accusing the government.

Is it not the height of foolishness for someone to sell lots or give you approval to build on a well known government property?

If you believe it is unfair, I have 2 plots of land inside Muritala International Airport for 5 million Naira (Give away)
So you are telling me that government allowed people build on their property and stayed for years and couldn't stop them from doing it?

Let's even assume you sold this land you used as example to me, you mean if I start building at the airport the government won't chase the workers and destroy the structure immediately?

If your answer is yes, then you are telling me that the Lagos state government has failed in their duties, all these wouldn't have been necessary...

And that failure is what I am calling out, if the citizens are irresponsible, the government should not join them in being irresponsible, that is the function of the government to lead, guide and teach the citizens.

ans also note that I am not defending the owners if they are wrong, but the government should lead by example in responsibility...

You can blame the Lagos State government for such negligence but you can't fault the Lagos state government for the demolition of those illegal properties, however late they come to do the demolition.

The Lagos state government must have been notifying them of the disapproval of such building but they must have been bribing their way through until the order came from the executive government of Lagos state to demolish the illegal structures.
So why is the Lagos state government not prosecuting those involved in bribe collection under the state government?

Is the government not interested in weeding off those spoiling its image?

Sorry, j wasn't done writing:

You either didn't read this article we'll or you missed some information on it.

When I saw the demolition, I thought the same way. I was wondering why Lagos State Government allowed the approval and development of the buildings in the first place but the hidden truth lies in this article.

Obviously, the developers of those properties dealt and got the land acquisition and building permits through the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex Management Board (LITFCMB). They developers also felt the LITFCMB is an agency of a Federal Ministry, hence Federal Government.

Lagos State government must have communicated the disapproval to the developers but they must have insisted on continuing the projects even when Lagos state government is against it but they were relying on the authority of the LITFCMB.

What they chose to ignore is that the land and properties in Lagos are under the control and powers of Lagos State Government. LITFCMB is subject to the Lagos State government and the Authority of Lagos State government is superior to the authority of LITFCMB.

Besides, why didn't the igbo developers invest these funds in developing properties and land in the South East? Why the constant focus on investment in Lagos, yet when they encounter challenges, they want to blame the government of Lagos State.
The question is why did the Lagos state government leave them to build for years and stop any construction from going on?

Why wait till people have built before coming to destroy?

grin grin grin i laugh hard reading this.Get notice from where? To get banner for building approval take approximate 2/3 months if u were lucky,1 month.Let those owners of the building pro ide that first. Some of this people cut corners/settled those boys that carry black/Red spray and assured them PEACE OF MIND until the Right /same pipu show face and give u STOP WORK PERMIT lipsrsealed. Once u enter any Gov agencies/office, you'll see them. They can even produce C/O sharp sharp
And the same government is not interested in arresting and prosecuting those spoiling the name of the government, the are only after those who own the properties. Is the government not interested in having a good name?

Oga money change hand. Do those people that build get approved paper. In ilorin a federal senator want to build a pavilion at the emir of ilorin palace, state government move in and stop work because they don't get approved paper. If those people in Lagos have papers they should drage the governor to court.
You think someone will spend millions of naira if not hundreds of millions with different notice from the same state government without getting any approval?
PoliticsRe: Tradefair Complex: South East Group Condemns LASG ‘Invasion’. by Brendaniel:
I have said this thing before, there is no construction, renovation whether from foundation or roof level in Lagos state that the government does not know about, if you think I am lying, just go to any part of Lagos and observe any building that starts construction if that building will not get a notice on it in less than a week from the government.

So for the same government to come and declare so many buildings that have been existing for years or buildings that got notice from them with some form of approval afterwards to be illegal is laughable at the same time annoying.

Some of you are too busy to reflect on your activities on this forum.

The initial question which I asked you, you know you didn't answer it appropriately. You never praised this government before because according to you and your likes, they can never make good policies.

Meanwhile, you are just one out of the many that have been attacking my comments, opinions on this forum for long, they are glaring from your comments history.

You know it's hypocritical to be condemning those who are attacking Peter Obi about his statement regarding the new Olubadan.

Start practicing what you are preaching
How is it hypocritical calling out a hypocritical narrative of a political jobber who wants to cause hate and division?

Those calling him out, are they not doing a good work?

secondly, you are expecting us to not correct you from doing a terrible work destroying Nigeria by supporting rubbish ?

The same you supported Buhari and all his policies for 8 years and here you are blaming those that were correcting you then who are still correcting you now for the same thing you were doing then...

The question is do you ever learn?

So if people who corrected you for 8 years are now proven right, how then do you want to convince them that they are wrong now for what they are doing to you and Tinubu?

Have you in particular ever defend president Tinubu before or his policies?
Why should I defend policies I know were not implemented well, some of the policies should have worked but like I do say, Tinubu loves putting the cart before the horse, so I already know if it will work or not, so why should I support what I know is not going to work?
