For the mums exchanging tips about the electrix breastpumps, those prices are quite high (and will probably climb higher). If I may make a suggestion, in the U.S. you can actually loan the expensive breastpumps, all you need to do is buy the suction plastics and sterilise everything else. Perhaps some mothers may be willing to do this, I for one cannot see myself paying over N150,000 for an apparatus I won't be using for upto a year.

We are in Nigeria Mma. How do we do that?

Manual pump didn't really do much for me too ooo. I couldn't get more than 30ml after much stress sef. ..the electronic is better for me ooo. You may need to get the electronic ooo if you can afford it

Yes, you mix it on your palm and then apply.

When i get home i'll modify this post and upload a pic. You have to look for the original palm kernel oil. My mum sends the original one for me every month. It's light brown, while the fake is black.

Not to use soap on baby? I've never heard that o. Baby soap was even part of my hospital list

Does that Palm kernel oil not stain clothes?

I woke up at about 4am today with some pain lower abdomen but I wasn't sure it was contraction. It kept coming and soon were at regular intervals so i called my doc and he asked me to come in.
I went to the Hosp. Doc did VE, told me I'm dilating and that I should go home n come back in the night.
Pls pray for me.

Meanwhile, today was our 4 months immunization. I am so so thankful to God that my babies are super healthy and adding weight well.

As we are talking about cream things, let me ask. I have been using only chicco massage oil on my babies body (excluding the face) and sometimes coconut oil when I make, but I noticed my baby's face is lighter than their body despite the fact I don't rub cream on face. Is it normal? ??

Mamas I am really depressed...I just looked at my stitched site...my tear went close to my anus,not a small one ooo. After urinating the day before yesterday I noticed something sticking out from my vagina...I drew it out,it was stinking, and then my discharge had same smell(2 days before I saw that). After drawing it out,my next discharge had no smell...So today, I looked at my tear site,I could see my red skin,it was as if it was open..I don't know if I can bear another stitching..and funny enough I don't pass gas via my vagina.I am just depressed!. Will it heal on it's own?

My Dear, I had a third degree tear (tear almost reaching the anus) too. The pain was out of this world . I was very careful about it opening up cos I dreaded restitching .... then one day I did what you did...looked at my vjay in the mirror...I was depresed and ashamed of my body....chai....would I ever return to normal? I had this sensation that something was rubbing in between my legs lik a loosed skin..I went back to be reexamined...this happened 2times before my 6weeks checkup. ...go to be checked. ...that's the only way to allay your fears

This gas thing is beginning to get to me.
1) She grunts and stretches anything she wants to pass gas, and now she'd fold her legs when she pees. I was told infacol or gripe water but we dey EBF and I'm worried about giving it to her. and someone else said nospamin

2) And she has this wheezing thing she does when she eats or sleeps. I complained but was told nothing in her throat, two days after the attached picture came put of my baby, twice. Thick mucus. And The wheezing I can still hear it but reduced though. I have been giving her vitc once daily, started three days ago.

3),What can I use oo. And one more thing, she doesn't suck that well. I'd even force her to suck after five minutes and she will begin to cry. Five minutes and she's done, will remove her mouth and off to sleep. What can I do? I am lactating enough and I even learnt to express the foremilk out a bit before I breastfeed so that the little she takes is d hindmilk. She sleeps and sleeps and sleeps. Feeds inky like five times in a day, maybe twice at night, even with abidec.

3) when she feeds these days, she poos while or right after feeding and it is green and a lil foamy. She hardly poos now and only when she feeds or just fed.

4) what can i use for diaper rash? Its this red patch on her vulva and butthole. Should i change hee diaper? We used huggies withe a ribbed effect and now we use one without. Someone recommeded Pampers premium.


She is 6 weeks old now.
Please help ooo.

1. Mine does the same stretching anytime he wants to poo. Doctor says nothing is wrong with it....they outgrown it from 3months or so...

2. We couldn't see the picture you attached sha so can't tell

3.same thing happened to me. He will sleep off after 5-10minutes of sucking, I wasn't lactating well so there was nothing to suck obviously. ...please stop expressing and wasting your fore milk out...your Baby needs both fore and hind milk tho hind milk is more nutritious

4. Green poo is an indication of an infection and baby not getting enough milk. You might need to see a Doctor to rule out infection. Have you gone for 6weeks checkup and immunization? What's her weight?

5. Do you apply Vaseline or shea butter on her bumbum before wearing her diapers? Sudocrem is fine too

I pump jus once a day i get 4 140mils.she takes while am at work.then i breastfeed directly wen am around.since u know ur baby takes 28oz a day.u can limit ur pumping sessions to that.

Unless u plan to open a factory for breastmilk.thats why u r storing so much .

It's electric....double electric. Medela Pump-in-Style Advanced. I also have no idea why I'm able to produce and pump so much milk. Depending on how long since my last pump, I get between 8-17oz per session.

This morning, I pumped 16oz from both boobs, 7am in the morning. My last pump session was 11:55pm last night. I also try not to pump too much so that my body won't think it's a cue to make more. So I only pump 4-5 times a day and yesterday I got 56oz total from 5 pump sessions

56OZ in a day ?? How do you get to produce that much please? Can you share the secret?

You can't sleep on your stomach anymore. ...its left side while occasionally changing to right side....use a pillow inbetween your thighs and another behind you ....that s what I used

Meanwhile LO is still in the cephalic position and we got to do a 4D scan over the weekend. The pictures taken are really worth the waddling I am going through. We weigh 1.2kg too. My sister in the big bump business ...Don't mind them screaming your bump is big joooor...mine was big too and I was rewarded with a very tall baby with rich hair and creamy face.....

3.2kg at 6weeks and 3.9 at 10weeks is rather too low.I was in the same situation like you....Baby weighed 4kg at 6weeks(he is 8weeks now). I wasn't lactating well too.
Infect I thought of giving up on exclusive breastfeeding and I came here to rant too . Mamas here encouraged me too.
Doctor told me to feed him every 2hours i.e put him to the breast or pump and feed him. I should also increaSe my carbohydrates intake too....These are what I did and seeing significant improvement;
I had to increase my pap intake. ...My first food everyday before breakfast is pap, tea or oats.I can take the pap as often as i like. I also try to eat every 3-4hours too....I got fenugreek seeds from a mama that sells here too. A satchet of water every hour, a satchet whenever I urinate or poo even if it's not up to an hour I took one .

If you can afford an electric breast pump, please get one. I try to pump at least 3times a day...i feed him 120ml every 2-3hours at most. I can see a remarkable difference in my son's health.. my target is 6kg by 10weeks.
Now I am beginning to have engorgment if I don't pump or breast feed in 5-6hours....

If you are exclusively breastfeeding, no water till 6months. ...but if you are using formula, you must give water. There is no special effects for bottle feeding instead of spoon feeding.
Honey is a NO NO for children less than a YEAR please! So it is not ok....
