Madam Zaynie, thank you for responding. Not sure yet I can bring myself to ending the pregnancy yet but am silently praying for a miscarriage of some sort ....
Am so scared of the risks the pregnancy may pose in my health as per risks of uterine rupture and all that and how healthy the baby will be because of the contraceptive I took and the fact that I was not on any multivitamin for over 3months....
I still have serious waist pains from the last pregnancy and labour and I recently found out that my episiotomy site had broken down a little. I was supposed to even go back for restitching but since it was not so painful I just kept postponing it....
So many thoughts going through my mind... I don't even want to talk about the strain on finances as we were even managing. .. ..
It's a night mare for me...

wow, i really appreciate it, in fact we feed every three hours nights inclusive. We feed even if she is sleeping. I was looking for a thread where mothers of preterm babies can share their experience while nursing their babies.

Baby is preterm...please feed every 1.30minutes to 2hours! 3hours is too long a stretch for a preterm!

Mum wants to start introducing formula. ....she has in mind getting Cow and Gate (UK )....she has been going through some emotional issues, making her loose appetite to eat and breast milk production really gone down....

Mum used to wash my hair every time she bathes me. Now my hair has started getting brownish.....

I remember this post...I couldn't get thro my exclusive breastfeeding because of this storm! At least couldn't I breastfeed till 1year to makeup for my not doing exclusive? ?

She was called a mad woman for no reason. You can see people like omoge grinning in support and calling her names. This is someone that has kept this thread very alive. Useful tips, fun ideas , prayer sessions and so on. Not one person stood up to defend her against the abuse she received or the followup sarcasm that was thrown at her.
Alohahandmaiden has also stepped away. Who knows? It might be her turn next to face the firing line.

Then after 2 hrs of taking it.express d first milk,throw away then u can continue with ur breastfeeding .
Any drug secreted will be in d one u threw away.

Mamas I misbehave with DH without CD ooo and the guy no even come withdraw as he had promised saying he was carried away. ....I wan take postinor ooo as I don't want stories that touch. Ekene is just 3months plus oo. Is it safe for breastfeeding mother's?

The doctor that took Ekene's delivery blamed me why I didn't supplement his feeding that first 5days I was not producing milk......all because I was bent on exclusive breastfeeding. ...
I hope I didn'tcause my son any irreparable damage tho. ..

Well, I had to do a little research. The Internet is agog with conflicting studies that we don't even know what to believe again. From what I gathered, the phytoestrogen present in soybean is the culprit and the concentration is significant in soy based formula especially for under 1 babies.
Most of the articles I read reported these things you raised as concerns, growing concerns but not a proven certainty. Debates are still on going.
For me, from all I have read, soy based formula is not advised at all, but for those that add to pap, I think very moderate quantity will pass.

My thoughts...if a soy based formula is thought to be this risky, a formula that contains percentage soy ,how much more the powder we make locally here that is 100% soy and no added substance! ! Truly na God go help us ooo

High level of estrogen present in Soya bean in boys delays and can even inhibit their sexual maturity and can lead to low sperm production in later life. High doses in baby Girls caused premature puberty .....
Tried verifying it on Google and saw articles towing that line too...

I don't think public hospital book for 6 months, after 14 weeks the next appointment will be 9 months.

The vitamin A was given to us at 9 months. I don't know of private hospital dou.

My immunization card has vitamin A at 6months

At about 2 weeks, my mother and MIL said a baby must be taking multivitamin so they smuggled in ABIDEC, well baby became a glutton and would suck breast till she throws up, eventually we discovered the reason and I insisted they stopped Abidec.

For diapers, we started with moflic, huggies (which we discovered to be fake) then little angel but somehow adventured into pampers and king, the result was a badly red and rashed skin, we've since returned to little angel wh
She eats sooo much that when she's sucking and falls asleep and breast is removed from her mouth, she wakes up and refuses to sleep until breast is returned mother has to sleep with breast in her mouth, is this advisable and hygienic?

We got breast pump so as not to make it difficult when mother starts working because we are going on 6 months exclusive for the sake of the baby, she has not been accepting the feeder o except once when she woke up and was very very hungry, we will try again later.

She's been having colds so we got giovin drops, got better, she's been on vitamin c for about three weeks though. She had cough so we got panda cold, also relieved.
Lastly, when she sleeps she tends to move her body as if in pains when sleeping. For colic we've been using nospamin which seems to be working.
She sweats a lot too, even more than we the parents at times

The Abidec is in order please. Breast milk does not contain enough vitamin D. Abidec ensures the baby gets just the right daily dose. The abidec is not responsible for her throwing up after feeding. She should be well burped after feeding.
Use sudocrem for the rashes. Apply on her bum after every diaper change till the rashes clear completly. It's sold in pharmacies. My son reacted to Molfix diapers too.
My son doesn t sleep at night without breast in his mouth ooo. So I sleep with him but I remove once he dozes off. Once he wakes again, he finds his breast. There is nothing unhygienic about it.....So nothing to worry.

For the feeder, try getting another brand of feeder. If it's avent you bought, try boot or Tommy tippee or even this our unbranded bottles that are cheaper sef.

Am surprised she is having cold and cough. I think ifshe is getting enough breast milk, she would have some immunity against such. I hope she had her 6weeks immunizations.

For the sweating, the weather is hot these days. That is what is responsible. Please reduce clothings and covering. My baby is 11weeks, I don't wear him socks again at home during the afternoon. Just body suit. That's all...Some afternoons now, I remove the body suit completely from him and wears only diapers to sleep well else he will be soaked with sweat which is not too as they are loosing water. This can make baby easily dehydrated.

Read the page before this your post. Mamas have suggested what to do for the colic.
